I had a bad experience with this contractor. They did not install the roof correctly the first time, and thus, had to reinstall the roof. They cited defective roofing materials, but it was their responsibility to install the right roofing materials in the first place. Worse, they kept sending me the final invoice without telling me how they will fix the problem. I refused to sign off, and hired an independent roof inspector at my cost ($250). Eventually, the company redid most of the roof. In the meantime, I had to spend a lot more time, effort, money, and hassle than I expected. Even after the re-installation, there were certain mild streaks on the side of the roof, but I decided to ignore them to reach closure. The salesman and the inspector seemed professional, but the actual job execution was substandard. Overall, I regret hiring this company.

Work completed very professionally during extremely warm days. Quality of product, workmanship and their follow up was impressive.

The actual assessment and work were great. The only down side was it took a very long time, weeks, to actually receive an assessment and have the work performed. Having said that, in all fairness, our damage was the result of a serious storm and Shiners, along with all their competitors, were very busy with roof replacement. Fortunately, I only needed a repair and my work was not an emergency. As a result, we had to wait until they could fit us in. The work, the price and overall the process were fabulous.

We asked Shiner to install metal roofing on the hip roof and front porch of our colonial-style house to contrast with the shingles on the main roof. Shiner's workmanship was absolutely superb. The low height of the hip roof and the intersecting rooflines between the roof and the porch required a fairly intricate installation that is very easy to see from ground level. The result is beautiful. Expertly laid out and finished seams give a very dramatic look to the new roof. Other aspects of the job were similarly professional. Shiner responded to our initial inquiry immediately and sent out an estimator a day or two later. There was a substantial delay before the work could start, but that was to be expected given our extremely rainy summer which must have severely disrupted their production schedule. We were away when the work was done. When we returned, our front yard was spotless--Shiner left the house and landscape perfectly clean. We have used Shiner on other jobs. We will continue to use them.

We needed siding work done as determined by our home inspection when we moved in. Shiner was prompt, easy to communicate with, and offered a fair price. We are pleased with their work and would use them again!

The skylight leaking was fixed by Shiner Roofing after we just came back from a trip and found no leaking trace in the areas that are underneath the skylight. The owner contacted me and addressed the issue quickly and efficiently after my reviews. It shows the owner of the company really cares about the business and the reputation of the company and stands behind its works. Thanks.

Called wanting to get an estimate to replace roof. Set up appointment, It was going to be a couple of weeks before they could come by. The day before the appointment they called to confirm the appointment. I told them I would be there. That's when I was told for the first time that they wouldn't come by unless all parties are home. I told them I would be only person there. They said they would need to reschedule. I told them not to even bother I would just use the other estimates that I had to decide who gets the work. All I wanted was an honest estimate to compare to the others to see which company I would choose.

I generally don't leave bad reviews, but my experience with Shiner left a really bad taste in my mouth. The sales rep came out a week ago and I explained everything we needed done. This included replacement of gutters and downspouts with larger ones, wrapping of all our frieze/fascia/rake boards, adding vented soffit and then figuring out an ice and water shield to prevent leaking near our chimney. He was great while he was here (4/9) and offered some advice as we walked around the house and he said he'd have a quote by that night or COB the next day (4/10). A couple days came and went with no word. I emailed a few days (4/12) later asking for the quote and didn't hear from him until the following day (now four days past when I was supposed to have our estimate). He said he'd have the quote to me by the next day (4/13) and that day came and went without anything in my inbox. He finally sent the quote late last night (4/17) but it didn't even include everything I asked for! He quoted for gutters being reinstalled instead of new ones and nothing about an ice and water shield. So not only did I have to hound him for a quote, he didn't even get everything in there that we needed. It's a shame because family have used them and I wanted to like them, but I will not be requesting services from them in the future.

Excellent! Estimator arrived when promised and provided a reasonable --and lower than expected -- price. After a rain delay, crew was in place promptly and quickly proceeded to remove the old roof and replace with the new one. They were highly efficient, skilled and polite. Clean-up, including magnet sweep for nails, was impressive. Have used Shiners previously and would definitely do so again!

We have a two-level flat roof. The lower level needed replacement. We contracted Shiner on a neighbor's recommendation. When I got home after the first day of work I noticed they tore off the upper level roofing along with the lower level. They apologized and replaced it brand new. The following day I noticed they did NOT replace it as it was. They removed it and replaced it again. Clearly, they had no manager on the site overseeing the project. It was a very costly replacement so I was very disappointed with the skill and level of workmanship from Shiner. I have shared my experience with neighbors and do not recommend Shiner.

Great this is the second time we have had Shiner replace a roof.

They were conscientious and prompt in doing the work and responding to my questions.

Shiner, who had made storm repairs to my roof in the past, confirmed that a "thirty-year" roof is still sound after thirteen years. Provided excellent advice on telltales for potential degradation/failure as well as considerations for ensuring the eventual replacement roof will survive our increasingly frequent wind storms. Very happy with the engagement overall. Definitely my first choice when it comes time to replace the roof system.

This is our 3rd time using Shiner and we will continue to call them for future projects. They have made a roof repair, replaced 2 sets of sliding doors, and replaced a large set of windows. Shiner is professional from beginning to end. The estimator, installer and the office personnel are all responsive and care about the quality of their work. Joe, who installed our doors and windows is precise and professional. He is a huge asset to the company. We highly recommend Shiner!

They responded quickly and were very professional. They were here within 2-3 days. They are a top notch company. Everyone was friendly. I was happy that they were able to respond so quickly. I did not feel pressured about the payment. I would use them and recommend their service.

This is a truly professional organization from the initial visit to define the project scope through the installation and inspection. Shiner Roofing has great crews and employees who do excellent work.

Needed some resealing done around the main roof chimney and vent pipes as well as some roof shingles that needed some sealant over a few nails. Also needed some resealing along the North side of the borders between the walls and the roof which was coming undone from its original installation. The job was done very well. I called them after the work to point out some areas that I believed they missed. No problem, they were out the next day and sealed everything I pointed out. Excellent Job and excellent customer service. I would recommend them to friends with confidence.

Shiner Roofing was very responsive to our roofing request. We had several shingles blow off our roof in the storm. Since we were going out of town and it was going to rain again in 2 days, we really needed to get the work done soonest. Considering their heavy workload after the storm, we are very appreciative they were able to complete our job efficiently and quickly (within 24 hours). Excellent Service!!!

We obtained three estimates for our project. Each company spent two days evaluating the project. Two companies gave us estimates the third inexplicably never contacted us again. Shiners was not the cheapest but it was close and we felt that the estimator gave us a better explanation of what needed to be done including an explanation of proper venting, some possible additional costs for lead testing and the need to have Pepco involved. They also walked us through the process of having our power shutdown. The front office was always responsive. When the time came the work was scheduled, it took a while but that was because of weather and Holidays. Otherwise the work was done promptly, the area was cleaned afterwards. We had two small problems one cosmetic and one functional. They were repaired in a timely fashion. We are happy with the results, and have survived several rain and windstorms without problem.

Quick scheduling for finding the problems, reasonable price for the fix. They kept to the window for scheduling the repairs. They're popular, so it was a few weeks before they could send a crew to do the repairs. But they did a great job. We'd definitely hire them again.
