He told my husband that since no services were completed, that we should request a refund. He told my husband that he would send us a written estimate of what needed to be done (of a more extensive nature.) The written estimate never came. I have waited for a long time. I called the office last week and asked for the estimate. The lady was very polite. I still have not heard anything. I am requesting a refund. The people we dealt with were very polite. I don't know why "nothing" could be done with the roof as listed on the coupon. Just one of those things.

Description of Work: Travis from Northern Virginia Roofing Co came to our house to do the inspection and said that two people need to do the roof inspection instead of one person. He said that it will cost us an additional $75 for the additional person. Since we already bought two $75 for Roof Maintenance Packages, we said ok assuming that we could use the coupons. When Travis came again with one additional person to do the inspection, we presented both coupons to him. He took one of the coupons and said that we need to pay extra $75 and told us if we can return the other coupon. We paid him the extra $75 and also gave him one of the coupons, and he did the inspection. We're happy with the inspection work that he did and the report that he provided. But, since he didn't accept the 2nd coupon, we would like to return it.

Description of Work: Northern Va. Roofing schedule inspection for Monday (2/11/2013) at 4:00 PM. Approximatelt 1:00, I rec'd e-mail and phone message that it was to wet to accomplish inspection.Next day 2/12/2013, I sent message to reschedule Friday (2/15-2013). Finally received reschedule for 3/5/2013. The technician explaind fully his objective and after the inspection he showed pictures of his findings and repairs.

Description of Work: We purchased $75 Roof Maintenance Package from Northern Virginia Roofing Co. (NVR) and spoke to Travis Livingston who came to our home. We had a roof leak and wanted an inspection and to have them either fix theleak or identify the source. Additionally, Travis verbally agreed to clean any clogged gutters while he was on the roof. Travis shared his roofing experience indicating he was a "Bar Tender" two years earlier and only came to NVA b/c his relative said there was money to be made here! Weather conditions caused Travis to cancel our first appt. and he was 1+ hours late for the second appointment. Travis walked the roof for a couple minutes with no visible means of doing any kind of maintenance or leak inspection with him other than a screw driver. Furthermore, he placed his ladder directly on the gutter edge which could have damaged the gutter; we would expect a gutter company to take more care and use a stand-off on the ladder. I guess you don't care if you plan on selling new gutters!! He made no comments as to the condition of the roof beyond the leak area that we asked him to inspect. We pointed out the general area where the leak was originating. As he was standing on the roof right next to a clogged gutter, which he agreed to clean on the phone, we asked if he would remove the clog, he said no b/c of the pitch of the roof. He performed zero "maintenance" for which the coupon was purchased! He then went into his pitch on selling us a new gutter system and his proposal for repairing the leak. When asked if they would guarantee the leak repair he said they could not do that. So, to sum it up, we paid $75 for a written estimate which we could have gotten for FREE anywhere else! Price seems HIGH for the work and guarantee offered. Leak Repair: Remove shingles along sidewall on rear left middle section of roof Install new ice and water shield along sidewall Install new step flashing Install new shingles where removed Shingle color may not match due to age and weathering Remove gutter above this section and install new 5" seamless aluminum gutter and new downspout So, for $1,085 this is what they said regarding the repair warranty: (Does this mean that if they fix a leak or cause one, they cannot warranty that?) NVR warrants all workmanship on areas where work was performed for 1 year. It does not warranty against leaks due to the fact that leaks can originate from multiple areas and migrate to only one area (lowest point in drywall) Above scope: $1,085.00 Addition Work Offered #1 (Install Ridge Vent): Install new ridge shingle over ridge vent onmiddle and upper ridge Plywood may have to be cut along ridge to allow air flow Install Ridge Vent: $1,042.00 Addition Work Offered #2 (Replace ALL Gutters): Remove ALL gutters and downspouts Install new 5" seamless aluminum gutters and 2"x 3" downspouts Install new Rhino Gutter Guards on all new gutters Total Scope for #2: $2,860.00 Gutters and downspouts: $1,560.00 Gutter guards: $1,300.00

Description of Work: I have used this company for years to repair woodpecker holes in my cedar siding. They have done well in the past with prompt efficient service. This time, the estimate was delayed two months. I called, and it was delayed another several weeks with the excuse that he had lost the work order on his desk. He finally sent an estimate for new siding but not for repair only. I requested the repair estimate. Weeks passed with no further response. I called again to notify that I had this request for a report on their company from Angies list, and would they give me the estimate for repair? They sent their sales manager who was nice enough and promised to have an estimate ready by the end of the week. That was 2 weeks ago, no response. I have been courteous and low key throughout, emphasizing their good record with me. I am giving up on them and will go elsewhere.
