This move went beautifully. Once I signed a contract I had several emails confirming when they were coming to pick my furniture up, what I should do to prepare, etc and I was given the name of a coordinator who I could contact at any time. Great start. They showed up on time with a large crew of people. Every piece of furniture was carefully wrapped, handled and put on the truck. It was all packed with straps holding everything in place and I had every confidence that nothing would be damaged. They gave me a four day window to deliver but came on the first day. They were again on time and the move in went perfectly. Nothing was even scratched and they put all the furniture back together. The foreman on the job kept telling me he wanted me to be happy. I was thrilled. It was the best move I have ever been involved with. I will be using JK Moving services in the future and recommending them to everyone I know.

The job was underbid by 45% -- quoted $2,750, final cost just under $4,000. Quoted 9-10 hours, took crew 7 hours just to load up and an additional 6 hours to unload, plus the hour of travel time. They did not take any of the outdoor furniture and left many boxes and other items which we had to move ourselves the next day (two horse trailer loads, several car loads). Two members of the crew seemed inexperienced and did not speak or read English and boxes marked for basement ended up on third floor and vice versa. They put my bed together incorrectly and it almost collapsed. Today, when I attempted to add a leaf to my Henkel Harris dining room table, I discovered that they had apparently lost 3 of the 4 screws needed to attach one of the two pedestals and I found just one screw holding it together. The pedestal fell away and I was barely able to keep the entire table from crashing to the floor. When the original estimate was given, I had not yet determined where I was moving and the estimate was supposed to have been based on kitchen, living room and bedroom going to a house, with the rest going to a storage facility. I advised them five days prior to the move that everything would be going to a single family home 30 minutes away and nothing was said at that time that the estimated cost would increase; however, their excuse for the additional cost of the move was that everything was supposed to go to a storage facility (not correct). When I complained about the additional cost, they credited me $300 but refused to honor their original estimate and charged the entire amount to my credit card against my written directive. I am a Realtor in a brokerage of over 300 agents in this company's service area, so you really have to wonder about their business sense. I will never recommend this company to any of my clients or to the other agents in my office.

Job was under bid by $5,000! They lost at least 20 items and damaged 29 items, some irreplaceable. They took two and a half months to respond to claims and paid about what we claimed.

It cost a little more than quoted on the phone, But they were right on time, workers were all GREAT the driver Scott Schules Did an amazing job. I have learned the hard way we moved again, and the company that I hired are the most unprofessional lying bunch. Needless to say I should have call JK Moving I WILL ONLY USE JK MOVERS FROM NOW ON,

They did say they charge by the pound, so they would have to take the items to the factory to get the exact price. Their estimate was within a couple hundred dollars, it went very smooth. We even mentioned Angie's List and they told us to read their reviews. They were straight forward and punctual.

It has been pretty well. One thing I like about them was that they were prompt in terms of scheduling which has been a challenge for this industry, and pretty much the car was delivered within the date. It's pretty much a very smooth operation. They were the best ride.

I advised JK movers (sent them manuals and videos) that the manufacturer indicated that four people were needed to move the 256 pound printer. They thought that two men could handle it. The two men that arrived struggled at first, but then worked out a plan that succeeded, despite my doubts. They were determined and had the strength and reserves to get the task done. They were professional about all aspects of the task and took no unnecessary risks with my equipment or their own safety. I assigned a "C" grade to the price because JK Movers requires a minimum of 4 hours for a two-man team. My task was completed in less than one hour. Although I appreciated their responsiveness, I believe the firm could have priced the service differently. Other than the price, the service was completely satisfactory.

It went reasonably well. They showed up within the window they gave me, and there were 6 packers who were, with one exception, very professional and very good. They knew exactly what they were supposed to do, and now as I unpack, I can see that they took care and nothing was broken. The next day, the movers loaded everything and again, seemed very professional. A couple of the guys were college students on summer break, but were hard working and did their share. The only real problem was that they loaded the truck on June 11, and I was hoping they'd get to Missouri to deliver on the 14th (I got there driving on the 13th), but no. The window they gave me, allowing for traffic, etc., was June 13-18. I told them that they could not deliver on the 13th, as I wouldn't own the new house till the next day. They let me know the evening of the 11th that they would be delivering on the 18th. I was upset, as I had wanted to move in sooner than that, so called and talked with the scheduler. She told me that they had someone else's stuff also on the truck and were delivering that, so could not deliver mine until the 18th, if not later. They did show up on the 18th, and the unloading went well--except that the sheet they gave me to mark off boxes only went up to #300--I had nearly 500 numbered items. So I tried to write down all the extra numbers, but it was impossible to keep track, and there was no way to tell if anything was missing. A month later, I still am not certain I got it all. I asked the driver where he'd had to take the other person's things, just out of curiosity, and the driver said there was only my own shipment, the truck had never gone anywhere else and they didn't leave their yard in Sterling, VA until Sunday, June 16--and I had a full truck, so nothing else could have been put in it. I told the scheduler when I talked to her that I was sure I had a full truck, and she told me that it was no where near full and that there had been plenty of room for someone else's load. Someone at JK seemed not to be telling me the truth, and that's the entire problem. The work went very well and on that basis I could recommend them, but there's this detail about telling the truth. I would MAYBE use them again.

The crew was careful to cover floors and staircases. They were careful with some older pieces of furniture. We ended up with a flower pot broken and a few scratches on my husbands desk (can be sanded and fixed) and a small scratch on bedroom night stand. Overall they did a great job. We were allowed to pick up used boxes and packing material for free, a real cost saver and you can return them to JK and they will recycle them or reuse. My only complaint would be that the crew spoke Spanish among themselves and when you were in a room alone with them I found it rude. You don't know what they are saying (unless you speak Spanish) and you wonder if you are being talked about. Perhaps JK could offer English as a first language classes. I like to be able to communicate with the a crew that is doing a job.

The movers did not show up on time in the first place. The head packer, the driver, was unorganized and did not have control over the other packers. The items were not inventories before the other movers started loading them on the truck, which required them to unpack the item in order to properly label and inventory it. Although requested many times, the movers did not properly pack many boxes, resulting in more damaged goods than I have ever had in 20 years of military moves. On the unpack side, the unpack was again unorganized and inefficient. Many of our boxes were simply dumped onto the floor rather than unpacked as required. Several items were damaged, including our living room furniture and other high dollar items. The unpackers were very slow, and the head unpacker (the driver) did not have any control over the other unpackers, In short, in my 20 years of military moves, 9 moves altogether, this was by far the worst move I have ever had.

The salesperson was very responsive even after the closed the deal. He answered all my questions. They gave us recycling box for free.

We were told the moving crew would arrive between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m., and they arrived promptly at 8:00. They went over our contract and explained how they would proceed. They were finished by noon. All five men were friendly, professional, and efficient, and appeared to handle our belongings with great care.

Great. Kept in phone contact throughout and accommodated our request to move up the time of drop off. Very professional. Not a scratch on anything.

Joe said that during the summer, moving companies do not accept autos in the moving truck. Movers make more money with a load of furniture and including a car would reduce the profit.

it went well, considering i was quite nervous and concerned about the whole move thing in the first place. The crew was very polite, very careful with our newly painted condo hall walls and new carpet just put in that week. Respectful of the non-dedicated elevators for everyone.

Everything went smoothly. The company came recommended and were familiar with the new location which was helpful. The estimator came out just over two weeks before the move and carefully reviewed what was being moved, carefully explained the details of what was involved. The movers were great and were very careful both on move-out and move-in to be sure that nothing was marked or damaged. They were also very careful about wrapping and packing and moved everything quickly and efficiently. Their office called several times throughout the process to alert me to arrival time, confirm things were going smoothly and checked afterwards to be sure things went as planned. I'd use the company again anytime and would highly recommend them.

My experience with them was fine. They moved our stuff and nothing got broke. The price was reasonable.

It was a real shock for us to have to move everything out of our house after we experienced serious water damage. JK Moving sent highly professional crews that systematically moved from room to room packing and then moving 20,000 pounds of items into temporary storage. When all repairs were complete, JK moved us back. Items were carefully packed and protected, no breakage.l

Wendy from the Rockville location took my call. I gave her an idea of what I had to move including a stand up piano and a number of antiques- including heavy marble pieces, huge rugs and quite a few portraits and paintings. Her initial estimate came in VERY close to the final bill and I added a stop in VA for the piano. A Sterling crew came at the end of the window, but within the window stated. (It was a 3.5 hour drove, so it was a little tough to find the place.) Edwardo lead the crew of Diego, Oscar and Fontano and they did a fantastic job. We have a 3 floor home and I had items that went and items that stayed. They didn't miss an item or take something in error. I think it took them about 4 hours. They padded ALL of the furniture. The next day, Edwardo called in the morning and worked out a first stop in Herndon to drop off the piano. (A woman joined them. I forgot her name, but all five were professional, efficent and had a great working dynamic.) Then, they arrived on time (10 AM) at the Bethesda condo. The condo was on the first floor. They had access to a TINY elevator and the stairwell, but completed the job in about 4 hours. Not one pice of furniture broke. Not one wall was scratched. I will definitely use JK again and I will ask for the same crew.

They were not so good. They were moving just a few things in from our apartment because the rest of our stuff was in storage with another company who had a houseful of furniture and they protected the walls and floors, came in, and assembled the furniture and everything, didn't scratch the wall or anything. JK Moving had one little sofa to bring in and they gassed our wall and front door and didn't protect the floors or the railing. There was a big slash across it that we had it repainted. We brought the mattresses ourselves. They just kinda rushed and were careless.

The movers themselves were courteous and made sure to ask us any questions if they were unsure about something. The packing process went very quickly and for the most part they took care of our belongings. We did have a couple of scratches on furniture and some scratches on the walls of the new home, but nothing major. The issue came when billing occurred. First, we were told that they forgot to weigh our truck and asked us to sign the agreement with no weight entered. Then, they said that they would have to charge us for the quote we received, which we were fine with, but they tried to charge us for several thousand dollars more. They said then that we agree to be charged for a minimum of 11000 lbs, which we did not, nor could they provide us any documentation stating such. In addition, they were simply rude and nasty about the whole ordeal, as if we were being unreasonable. When we finally had the issue resolved, we had problems getting the refund they owed us for the difference between what we were charged and the actual amount. Two years later packing for another move, we found they packed chemicals in a plastic tub of keepsakes that has apparently been there for two years. Everything in there is ruined. They are not supposed to pack chemicals, period.

The Company could not have done anything better
