It went very well. They were very professional and I would recommend this company to anyone.

I thought the movers were great. UNTIL I went to unpack the storage unit. I had pointed out the boxes marked fragile and had asked that the beds be packed in the front. The beds were against the back wall and MOST of the FRAGILE boxes were on the bottom crushed.

They were outstanding. They did a very good job. They were very professional throughout. They seem to take great care of the shipment. Actually we had 2 shipments because we were going to 2 different locations and they got that all straight. When I checked around, their price was very competitive. I don't think I could have asked more. I have used them before as well.

I wanted to give my business to a local company. I did not get excess insurance, because the charges for it should have been more than what minor nicks/damage would cost to fix. My mistake was figuring that any reputable company would pick up the tab on things clearly their doing. Generally, everything was excellent until we started the unloading. They were the same people who loaded several days before. Apparently the van had been in the sun for some time: a CD rack literally melted apart (its glue and glue strips) when it was being set up in the living room; their supervising driver brought to my attention that a woofer cone's glue had melted off inside the speaker; a dining room chair support was broken and could be used; in spite of calls to be careful during unload, a box was shoved across the top of a very expensive chest, causing fine but massive scratches. Later damage found and reported: treadmill worked fine the day before it was moved, was electrically dead after - Sears repair said it was likely the move heat fried the motherboard; deep nicks on 2 bed boards and 2 chest of drawers; 2 wicker items had crushed areas. Photos and a complete explanation were sent. Total payment $204, based entirely on item weight. What bothers me was the evasive attitude and the way the claim was handled. They assumed no responsibility for those scratches done right in front of me and duly noted by all, or for heat damage found by their managing driver with the speaker, or heat damage causing collapse while their own personnel including the manager were setting up the unit, The chair was broken coming out of the van. The treadmill is iffy, but still... it worked right before it was loaded. Nicks indicated the large furniture pieces were not wrapped well enough to be protected. Whose fault was that? The heat damage was clearly caused by their carrying it in an overheated van, which shouldn't have happened. They said it was "not due to carrier-related negligence". Well, then who? They claimed no proof for the treadmill, despite Sears's inspection. They claimed they told me the CD rack was broken - no they didn't, and didn't note it on the pickup or the delivery copies in my possession. Another $250 and a sincere apology and I would not have written this letter. (parenthetically, JK and I both applied for SBA loans the same day back in the 1990's for our fledgling companies, so I had a nice feel for them, which is why I used them.)

Both my husband and I were very impressed with the professionalism of JK Moving Services. Each item was carefully packed and boxes were clearly labelled to identify content. The movers were equally professional and carefully removed each item from the house with no damage to the items or the house. Everything was delivered in prestine condition.

I was very impressed with the way that they did business. They were very professional, they did a good job. Everything went as planned.

It went well. None of our stuff was damaged, which was a first for us with movers. They actually came in UNDER the estimate that they gave us which was a huge and pleasant surprise. They were very efficient and professional. Made the process extremely easy for us.

I wouldn't recommend them to anyone! They gave us an estimate of about 7500 lbs, but we ended up getting charged for 10,500 lbs. This is even after we had sold a lot of things. Because we had disagreed with the amount owed, they argued with us and held our items hostage. Because of this we did end up paying for us to get our stuff. After further review from looking into video footage, the company found out that there were 7 inches of snow weighing on the truck and this is what caused all of the extra weight. We did end of getting reimbursed for our additional charges but this was such a headache!

The estimator, Clark was very thorough and professional. Also, he followed up without being pushy. JK was not the least expensive of the three, but they did give us VIP treatment. We picked them based on on-line and personal recommendations. On the day of the move, the crew arrived on time, in uniform, worked quickly and carefully, and had a cheerful, professional and caring attitude all day. There was no damage to either house or to our belongings, and they did the work within the estimated time. John and his crew are to be commended. Having made many moves in the military and two since, this was the best.

The move to Florida was very well done with no stress. I would definitely use JK again

Gordon Moyer did the initial and follow up visits before we contracted with JK Moving Services. He set the stage for what would become a fantastic overall experience. Joe and Fred directed the packing efforts the day before the truck arrived. They were hard working and clear communicators. Helping Joe and Fred were Celicia, Arda and Rosemary; they were careful packers and a joy to work with. (We are still unpacking boxes, and are grateful for the box labeling they all did.) Glen Cooksey drove the truck the day after the Packing Crew did their part. Glen directed all efforts with a strategy for efficient distribution at two locations on the destination end. Glen and five others loaded the truck and headed out that same day. I've never seen a more efficient operation, and the communication with Glen was excellent. No translation errors - - a refreshing departure from the norm these days. I stepped into the trailer briefly was floored by what I saw: it seemed like a factory. The trailer was even calibrated for volume used, which made storage estimation at the far end easy. My wife and I are still in awe by everything we saw, and the treatment taht we and our belongings received. In the corporate world, Glen would be known as a Project Manager, but a rare one who also works physically hard. I can't recommend a moving service more, and we'll remain staunch supporters of JK Moving Services.

Entire house move. Was absolutely perfect! Professional estimator, great instructions in preparation. Two excellent packers came the day before, excellent job, nothing broke. Hardworking crew of 7 arrived promptly, wrapped furniture, hauled boxes, emptied entire house, no dings or scratches anywhere. Drove to new house and unloaded everything, also while carefully protecting walls and floors. They reassembled anything that they had disassembled, made sure everything was in the right room and in the right place. They were a bit more expensive but absolutely worth it!

We had used JK Moving Services in 1995, when we moved into this house, so I chose them to do the job this time. They were very professional and were good with my belongings.

JK Movers moved me from Chapel Hill back to Ashburn last week. I had used them to move there 2 years ago and because of my satisfaction with that move, didn't bother to talk to any other mover. I could not be more satisfied with the entire process - from setting it up with the coordinator, the working with the office staff, and most importantly the movers themselves. The crew was very professional and delightful to work with. The same crew that packed me up in Chapel Hill moved me into Ashburn 2 days later. They remembered what I had which helped when placing items. They worked very well together, moved quickly and protected the stairs and floors. They wouldn't leave until we were sure everything was where I wanted it to be. Nothing was damaged at all (i had done most of the packing myself), but they didn't dent or damage a single box or item while loading or unloading. I recommend them highly.

They were very efficient. The estimate was right on the money. They were a really nice crew of movers.

The initial consultation was very informative. We had used JK for our move into the townhouse 12 years before and were pleased. They performed some packing of all of our china, put a lot of furniture and boxes into storage and completed an interior move of several items on a day in late March. The team worked well together. In early July a different team arrived to move us from our townhouse to our new home. We had just painted and put new carpet into our new house so we were really concerned about the move. The team was FANTASTIC. They seemed to sense each time we got concerned about something and assured us before we could even voice the concern. They even put padding on the walls because of our circular staircase. I really wanted them to move our items out of storage the next day since I trusted them so much but JK has a policy that the team that moves you into storage moves you out so that they can set up the furniture again. The team was good but not quite as cautious and reassuring. It went well enough, there wasn't a lot coming out of storage (mostly boxes) and there was no damage. We didn't have damage to the house or the stuff after all was said and done so we were very pleased.

The JK packers did an excellent job. They arrived on time and worked for about 3 days packing our entire home. We had a full truck and 1/3 of a second truck. No items were lost and only 1 item (the bottom of an old lamp) was broken. The packing/loading/transportation/and delivery were all completed according to the schedule that we set with our coordinator. The driver was fantastic and texted me along the way to keep us posted on delivery. I would recommend JK again and / or use them in a future move.

JK sent a rep to our house to estimate the cost of the our move from the Baltimore area to Fredericksburg, VA. Our basement was filled with stacks of boxes that we had already packed, thinking we would rent a truck and move ourselves. We came to our senses and decided to hire a mover when we saw the volume of our possessions. The estimate was amazingly accurate (they charge based on weight). On the day of the move, they arrived with a crew of three. We had packed most of our household goods, but had them pack some of the more delicate items. The crew was very professional, working quickly and efficiently as they packed all the boxes and furniture. We could see that they took care to prevent any damage. We had specified that we wanted to move into our new home in Fredericksburg the next Monday. They arrived early and spent the day unpacking the truck and putting furniture and boxes where we specified. Again, they were very professional and efficient. There was no damage to any of our furniture or other items. We were impressed with every aspect of the services they provided. If we ever move again, we will use JK.

They handled the move very well. I think they took time to wrap stuff up well and they were very nice guys. They were professional and took care of the stuff as I requested. I asked them to make sure they didn't use the dolly in pulling it up because we had just gotten the hardwood floors done. They protected the wood floors very well and they were very understanding about any special requests we had. I was happy with them.

Extremely well. On time, accurate, courteous, professional. A tiny amount of damage which was promptly repaired. Moves are never stress free but this one came very close.

Everything went exactly according to plan, even as the plan changed. Conducted a local move from Alexandria to Herndon. Initially had two Valets delivered. We filled them up and had them taken into storage. We then had two more delivered and then two more when it became apparent we would need additional ones. We had all six (four at the house and two in storage) all delivered to the new house on the same day and then all six removed on the same day. 1) Price was very reasonable and better than other options given what we were doing. 2) More economical to use the Valet's in pairs to save on delivery charge (same charge for one or two). 3) The cube Valet's are more convenient that longer containers but note that some long items (ladders or even extra long couches) won't fit. 4) Be aware they only move containers on Mondays and Thursdays. We planned accordingly and it worked out fine. 5) No hidden fees or charges. There is a fee for each combined delivery/pickup and a monthly rental fee for the container. That's it. No fuel surcharges. No mileage. Etc. The only "knock" is you don't get a window (other than the day) for pick-up or delivery. Granted, if just the day is fine then OK but if you want to have a delivery in a certain window (i.e. the morning) that is more of a challenge. In our case, moving six of these things during a week day in DC traffic was no small feat so I was happy with the day. Talk to Wendy! She suffered through us adapting the plan several times as we adjusted our space needs and staging to get them to the new house.

They did a very good job. They wrapped everything very professionally. They tore down everything and set everything back up.
