I would never use them in the future. They muddied our carpets. They dropped several boxes and cracked the corners. It was not a professional experience at all. It was my first time using them.

Exceptional customer service from start to finish. From Wendy in the office, who provided our quote and Helen who coordinated our move details, to the amazing mover/loading team, lead by Roy. These men were prompt, courtesy, and efficient! They were also very attentive to details. For example, we have a active 3 year old boy and had 6 bookcases that are tipping hazards without heavy books to anchor them. They had the good sense to weigh them down with shelves and stack the bookcases together. I highly recommend JK Moving and will be using them for any future moves!

I've used JK Moving before and would definitely use them again. The crew members were very professional and worked extremely hard the entire time. They worked quickly and efficiently, were very polite, and made the move really easy.

JK arrived the same day I called with an estimate that was a bit high but a friend recommended them and I was willing to pay more for great service. The move from start to finish was a disaster. The estimate was extremely low at $10K and 19,000 pounds. The reality was $14K and 25,000 pounds. The estimator (Joe Modes) said he would "be my point of contact from beginning to end" and he went off the grid and non-responsive after I signed the commitment letter. There were so many things wrong I think I'll just make a list: - Estimate was for 4 packers for 10 hours. They showed up and read from the work order it was 4 people for 4 hours. After 10 hours they literally stopped packing and said "do you want us to leave" - it ended up taking 14 hours. A huge miss for the estimator. - They stated they would show up at 8am on day 2 to load for residence #1 and didn't show up until 1pm. When I called my customer service rep (after making 3 calls to figure out who that was) she actually was rude to me and stated I should have known this. My estimator was no where to be found. - They left half the boxes for residence #1 in the main home, they "forgot" them and we had to perform miracles to get them to deliver them. They called and said "we are not charging you for the extra move" as if they were doing me a favor for not charging me for their mistake. - The movers on day 3 were great. However, they had to continually fight with HQ to get more help and another truck. The movers on day 2 called HQ and told them the move had been under estimated and they did not listen. Thus we had a 14 hour move day. The estimator finally showed up on day 3 so that I could PAY HIM MORE MONEY for the mis-estimated move. - I put in a claim 2 weeks ago for some damaged furniture (dropped a wooden desk on it's corner, sliced through my couch while unwrapping it) and I HAVEN'T HEARD BACK even after several emails asking what the status was. In short - great marketing pitch, no substance. Rude and synical customer service people, bait and switch with the low estimates. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY FROM JK.

JK was highly recommended by a friend who had recently used them for a long distance move from DC to Texas. I called them & set up an appointment for them to do a home survey visit. This is what my friend told me they do - they figure out total weight of all things to be moved & do an estimate. I was contacted before the planned visit via email & got a preliminary estimate. It seemed high & when I questioned them on the 8000 lb weight allowance fee was told that was the minimum allowance for my move from DC to NY. I did not have nearly that much in added weight but accepted this minimum. I was given an hour time frame for when the agent would be at my home. When the time passed, I called & got the agent on the phone, asking him where he was. He seemed to not be aware that he was due at my apartment saying something to the effect that he sent me an estimate....???? So, was I supposed to accept it without meeting with him...was I supposed to follow up on an appointment? It seems to me that if a company wants your business it is up to them to do the follow up or cancellation. There was some remark about "sorry for the miscommunication". I don't think that is good business practice....I was terribly disappointed & when I received another estimate which included packing services, the amount was ridiculous. I have since found another Angies List moving company & add that they did not have a minimum charge for such a high weight for the same trip to NY. Sorry but they really did not seem to go after my business & were very, very expensive.

They broke my things and they said the insurance does not cover it. I am still angry about, They took on a responsibility and did not did the work right. They took the things were they need to be but they did not respond to the damage. They said because it went into a locker so it was not packed by their worker. Then the things stayed in the locker and then they shifted to my home. They said the insurance doesn't apply as it went into locker. They did not work in a professional manner. There people packed everything so it was there fault.

It was an excellent move (a 7 hour move only because we had issues at the origin-apartment building- with contractors blocking access ways- had nothing to do with the movers). I had 3 movers, one who was a coordinator and the other two who did all of the hard work and it went very well. They moved the furniture from their truck as well as a UHaul that my Dad had brought from another state with furniture. Only one item was damaged and a claim has been filed for that item- we did not get the "extra" insurance because the previous move I did with them was so good, I felt I did not need it. They were careful with the floors, there was a microfiber rug so that the hardwood floors did not get scratched, all of the furniture with drawers was shrink wrapped with a gigantic saran wrap then placed in blankets with tape to protect the items, TV and any framed artwork and a couple of mirrors went into a special skinny mirror box, clothing went into wardrobe boxes that I loaded at origin and unloaded at destination, anything "loose" went into a big cardboard container...including smaller boxes that were packed, lamps and other bagged items. Overall the move went smoothly, they arrived a bit early and communication was ok. The two movers did not speak great English, but their coordinator was bi-lingual. so that was definitely helpful. My original move consultant was on vacation and had a really nice woman named Kelly helping out in his absence. She called mid-move to make sure all was going as planned and then afterwards to make sure that everything was great as well. I would definitely recommend JK Moving. It was a pleasant experience even though moving is a ton of stress.

I'M SO DISAPPOINTED in my experience with JK Moving Services. I heard about them from an ad on a trusted news source (WTOP), read others' glowing online reviews, and decided to give them a try. I moved from a two-bedroom apartment to a four-bedroom house. Booking was great - they were flexible when I needed to change my move dates. They showed up on time, were polite, and ready to work. Although they said I didn't have a lot of stuff, the entire move took about 7-8 hours. I WAS CHARGED DOUBLE what I was quoted because of this. They broke a floor lamp, damaged my beautiful cherrywood king-size sleigh bedframe, broke a couple of glasses, nicked my other wood furniture in various places, and damaged my new house walls in a few places (mainly the entrance and stairwell). I got insurance, and was going to make a claim to cover the damages, but they don't even give you enough time! We just MOVED for goodness sakes! Been packing for over a week and still have to unpack/get settled. We're DOG TIRED! The least they could do is give us 30 days to collect whatever info they need. They said I had 10 days, which included two holidays (Christmas/New Year's) and the weekends in between. They weren't even open all those days to receive my phone call. That was not reasonable! Not cool! For the money we spent, I would not recommend these guys to anyone. I was really disappointed (because I thought I was dealing with a reputable company) and fuming at the final price, all the damages, and not enough time to even make a claim to make it right.

They did an awesome job. There were two or three people here moving me. The apartment was on the top floor. They were good natured people. They did not damage anything of mine during the move. They worked very efficiently.

They were absolutely one of the worst companies I ever dealt with personally or professionally. They: 1. Broke antiques and family heirlooms 2. Stole Christmas presents 3. Mishandled packing and labeling causing endless hours of searching for items 4. Made a promise to repair an antique rocking horse that they broke and in the end, did not! 5. Unloaded a truck of items in a warehouse and reloaded without our permission 6. Placed a Persian rug OUTSIDE in the backyard. We did not know. Thankfully, we found the rug before it rained and was ruined. Overall, at every level, JK Moving let us down. We trusted them and believed they cared about our belongings. In the end, they did not. We heavily tipped all the employees, bought them lunch etc... We treated them like family. In the end, they do not care - at any level including corporate.

They were a bit expensive, but did a great job. Nothing was missing, broken, or scratched.

Communication was excellent in every aspect. Movers and foreman were courteous and professional. Both moves were punctual and efficient. Nothing damaged. Yes, they may cost a bit more than the 2 men and a rental truck, but you get what you pay for. JK took the stress out of this move and was worth every penny. I would highly recommend them.

we have moved a number of times. This is by far the best mover we have ever used. they were easy to deal with when we first contacted them and the information they gave about the move was straightforward and easy to understand. they kept us informed with frequent contact and when I asked about Insurance they had a very detailed easy to understand explanation. On the day of the pickup their staff arrived on time and were very professional. I have never seen such careful and thorough packing of our goods. They kept us aware of where the shipment was and when it was due to arrive. On arrival we were informed and scheduled for delivery promptly. the movers on that end were also very efficient and brought everything in and unpacked it and placed it where we wanted. We had a lot of breakables and antiques and not one single one was damaged. We were amazed based on our previous experience. The y have followed up with questions about any of our concerns. I was very impressed that they cared for us and our household goods. If I had to move again I would definitely contact them. If you had a grading scale of 2 A, I would give it to them and I give them my strongest mahalo (Hawaiian for Thank You) as the best movers we have ever used.

A five man team moved us: John Southard, Aigh, Ernesto, Lopez and Elmer. All 5 were fabulous!! While we did most of the packing ourselves, they carefully wrapped and loaded all our furniture and the large number of boxes we had packed. They were careful not only with our furniture but also took care with the house we were moving from. The next day they delivered and placed all the furniture in our new home. Again - they were careful with our belongings and also took good care of our new home. With over 16,000 lbs of "stuff", nothing was damaged or broken. They were a fun crew - constantly kidding each other. Lots of fun to have around and all 5 were great workers. They were all in constant motion. They cheerful moved furniture from one room to another - and asked one last time before they left if we wanted anything else moved. We would not hesitate to recommend them or use them again for a future move. If we did, we would ask for the same team - they were GREAT!!!

The move went great. On move-out day, the movers were prompt and efficient. We packed boxes ourselves, with the exception of a few items such as the flat screen TV. The movers came prepared to help us with all of those final items. We had several heavy, large items such as a freezer, an extra refrigerator, and a crated pool table--all in the basement. The movers were careful with the items and the house. There was one item of damage -- the wall behind the inside garage door sustained some damage from a doorknob. Because it was behind the door, we didn't notice it until after our walk-through and the movers were gone. We contacted our move coordinators and they promptly adjusted our bill to cover the costs of the repair. Our new home was completed three weeks after move out and JK drove 2 trucks 120 miles from their storage facility to our new location. The move-in team was fantastic. They took great care of our new floors and walls and our furniture. They went above and beyond in placing our furniture where we wanted it. When we realized that we had asked them to put a heavy bookcase in the living room instead of the basement, they cheerfully carried it down to the basement and then brought back up the correct, equally heavy bookcase to the living room! Wonderful customer service and work ethic! We've been unpacking items for several weeks now and are very impressed with the lack of damage. We had a few minor dings to furniture. We packed ourselves, so I was a little concerned as to how fragile items would fare during the storage and move. I'm very pleased with the result. All my china is unpacked and nothing was broken! TV and electronics work great. JK did a great job for us.

Excellent and very professional service by the folks at JK. This was a military move so I do not know approximate cost. Would use them again!

This was my 4th time using JK Moving services. I was always impressed by the company and the services that they provided to me in the past. In fact, I was so impressed with prior services that I did not feel the need to get another estimate with a competitor for my recent move. Unfortunately, I was so disappointed with my recent move that I would not use JK moving services in the future. I received an estimate for $4,400 for 8 men and approximately 8-9 hours of work. The final bill was close to $6,000 with 13.5 hours of work. The team of movers did the best they could given the circumstances but unfortunately JK should have allocated more men for the job. The move was disorganized, and boxes did not end up in the correct room. The team just dumped boxes, and personal effect in the garage and basement. We had to spend close to two days looking for items that were in the wrong space and moving to the correct location. Furthermore, the movers ran out of space in one of the trucks and I had to hire someone else the next day to finish the job. I responded to their survey letting them know how disappointed I was and they advised me that someone would be calling me to discuss. That was nearly a week ago and I have yet to hear anything more from the company. I am not certain what changed with this company but it is disappointing. I would recommend looking elsewhere for your moving needs.

The first man that came to my home stated if I had a question I could call him but when I tried he was very hard to get ahold of. I have nice crystal and they only used regular newspaper to wrap it and placed it a regular box. This didnt seem safe to me. They cramped a lot of different items into boxes and there were damages on some items. I could have hired a company half the price but I thought I was paying for great service. I always pay by check but this company demanded cash once the items made it to my sons house. Luckily the bank was still open. This was a month and a half after my husband passed and I just couldnt believe the lack of customer service. Turned a stressful situation into a traumatic experience.

the company was very professional. There was contact with personnel at every step. superior to any company contacted. They were very careful at both loading and unloading. All was placed as requested. Packed boxes were all intact. We will use again if we move again. Super service and followup contact,

They were perfect. Large strong crew. Large van. Pads everywhere.

They were fantastic. They took really care of our stuff because it was raining that day like putting some tarps and they did a really good job.

Monday morning, JK Movers' truck arrived with three movers. These guys were very polite and did an outstanding job. They were so good, they estimated a time they would be finished and were actually within 10 minutes of the estimate. The unloading was equally as stress free and efficient. This was one of our best moves ever made. I highly recommend JK Movers.

They were professional. Prompt with all appointments. They gave two estimates. They employees that moved my furniture did a good job and when they got to Florida they helped to get all the furniture in place. The driver who was in charge in Virginia came with the movers to Florida which I liked. The only problem I had was a part of my mower was damaged but the insurance covered the damage.
