They were fantastic and it was the easiest move I have ever done in my life. I moved in from a one-bedroom apartment to a four-bedroom town house. I had them give me a quote for packing and moving. I ended up packing most of the things myself and they charged me less, only for the moving. They were done in about three hours. They were great for local move.

They gave me discount as I had used them before. I chose them because I had used them before. They come out highly rated. They were a good company and can stand business. They offered the use of free boxes. It wasn’t enough to do the whole move but at least they offered that. They take exceptional care in preparing your furniture for the move. Nothing was damaged or broken. I did the whole packing myself but they moved things very well. They did a great job. I would use them in the future.

They came out when they said they would and brought boxes. The timing was good. We set up an appointment to do a review of what needed to be done and they came out on time. They did the packing of the furniture and so on. Moving into the new place they put on appropriate shoes so as not to mess up the carpets. They were very careful with moving the furniture upstairs and with everything that they did. It was a good experience. The estimate they gave was consistent with the final price.

The experience was positive. They arrived on time. They moved us very quickly. They didn't stop long for lunch, which was good. They didn't damage any of our furniture. We did notice some scratches on the walls of our new house after they were done. It was more like paint scuff marks and we didn't say anything to the company. Generally they were very good but the cost ended up being higher than what we expected but it was because it genuinely took more time. They just didn't give us an accurate estimate of the billing when we got the quote from them. The guys worked really hard and they didn't stop working so it wasn't because of anything on their end. The move just took longer than they had estimated. We would consider them in the future.

When we listed our condo for sale, we received a call from JK Moving who offered to send someone over to provide an estimate. We wanted to compare a couple companies and they were available to come on a Saturday so we scheduled an appointment. John Freudiger was the consultant who came over to provide the quote. He was extremely professional and honest and open about the process and the cost. They seemed to have a very extensive training process for the movers. He knew we were mostly considering price so gave some suggestions of how we could save money on the move such as packing the boxes ourselves and getting free boxes from Craigslist. I was extremely impressed with this company. However, ultimately we are young and none of our furniture is super high quality so when we were able to get a lower quote from another good company, we chose them, strictly for the cost savings, because overall, I was more impressed with the presentation from JK Moving. It seems like a great company to use if you have a lot of nice furniture and want maximum peace of mind for your move.

I've moved 7 times in the past and have had packers for 2 of those moves. I've had bad movers and good movers. JK Moving was excellent - packing and moving (Edgar and team for packing - Jose and team for moving). With one day notice, I had a team of packers on Saturday and I moved on Sunday. I was present for both parts the entire duration and the packers didn't take a break and the movers took one break (lunch -which they did not charge me for). Packers - They were extremely efficient, and weren't careless with any of my items. They provided a couple of extra boxes so that I could pack up my linens the next day. Their English was reasonably good, they labeled all of the boxes with the contents and only one was really mis-labeled as "craigs", they meant "crates". They cleaned up and took all leftover/loose packing materials with them. Movers - They were also very efficient. I had 21 steps to the apartment and the movers I had hired to move me into the apartment (different company's 3 man crew) took forever! So I decided to go with a new mover and to use a 4 man crew - it was more expensive per hour but, over all cost less than my last move as they finished so much faster. They were very respectful of my items and didn't drop anything on the way out the apartment. One box was dropped on the way in - we unpacked the items and I had a cracked picture frame. They were kind enough to hook up the stereo which was also in the box and it worked fine. They were so careful with the freshly painted walls - no scratches!! They finished the move and then asked if I wanted anything rearranged (which I did) and they didn't complain (even when I moved one piece 3 different times). They also cleaned up and took any loose packing materials with them.

Bottom line is that I would consider JK Moving again if I were doing another large move. JK Moving is a large company who does thousands(?) of moves in the area every year. Highly rated on Angie's List. So I figured they'd have plenty experience with a large move. I got an in-home estimate by JK from their rep Joe Pence . He was very professional, gave me some glossy pamphlets from the company, explained how they use their own team who are qualified for several years and are even drug tested. He did say their costs would run a little higher because of the types of things I mentioned above. He gave me an estimate and emailed or called to stay in touch (but was not pushy or too frequent with keeping in touch). Their price was a bit higher, but not out of the ballpark, and everything pointed to us having a good move with JK. I ended up going with another mover because of price, small business ownership and a military discount. JK could not offer a discount of any type.

I selected Town & Country Movers (T&C) from Angies List. They were one of very few movers listed in my area that had report forms from long distance moves. I needed to move from my ground floor three bedroom condominium in Rockville MD to a three bedroom one floor house in Charleston SC, a driving distance of about 500 miles. I contacted T&C about six weeks in advance of the move. The Not to Exceed Estimate for the move, including $179 for insurance (optional), $1117 for a custom pack and $279 for a custom unpack at destination, was $4851. The estimate also stated that if the shipment weighed less than what it was based on, or if T&C packed less (I pack more) then the cost would be less. The move-out took place 12 April 20010 and the move-in date at my new residence was 16 April. Both events took place on-time. The movers, in particular the team leader Mr. Paul Zuniga, were very professional and careful with my belongings. There were four movers for move-out and two for move-in. My belonging arrived in near perfect condition. (The few imperfections were minor and a result of disassembling and then re-assembling furniture). I did some of my own packing so the final cost, $4530, was below the estimate.

They did a great job. Nothing was damaged. They were on time and prompt. The people that worked with them were very good. They worked with me around issues. I was still packing stuff when they arrived to load the van, and they just worked around that. I was very pleased with them. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future.

This was the most painless experience I've ever had. From getting the estimate, to the day of the move, everything went as scheduled and promised. JK's crew who came to do the move were excellent. Not a single thing was broken or scratched. I was so impressed, I even made a special trip to the ATM machine to get cash to tip the moving crew. The actual cost of the move came in under the estimate by about $300. If you pick JK to do your move, you will be very satisfied. I highly recommend them.

Overall, the experience has been good and there has been nothing I have disliked thus far.

I don't remember their charges. Our experience went well. They did bump some stuff, but we pointed it out to them during the move and I think they were supposed to do something about it. I can't remember because my husband took care of the move. The coordination to get the boxes in was difficult. They came in a couple of hours late the day they were supposed to come, but the move went excellent. They did bump some of our nice furniture. It happens, but they are going to fix it. It's not like some moving places where they don't acknowledge that they did it. The price was expensive.

We did all the packing ourselves. They just moved the furniture. There were 4 men and they were great. They were very respectful for all our antiques. They treated our furniture like we would treat it. They were also very personable. Their main office is in Sterling, Virginia, but they have local offices in other areas. The price, as far as I was concerned, was reasonable. We had another company come in to give us an estimate and they were within $100.00 of each other. I was comfortable with their price. I would definitely hire them again.

It was a minimal charge for them to drive the pods to their storage facility and then to the new house. They delivered the pods to the new house and asked how many days I would need them, then they came back and picked them up. I used them for about four and a half months, but I paid for five months because it was a month to month fee. The people were nice. I didn't deal with them a lot because the service is fairly simple; they drop them off, I fill it up, they take it away, and they bring them back. There wasn't any damage. They give the customer the keys to keep after he/she fills them up. They were very responsible and professional. They made it easy. I moved a whole household using just them. I can't imagine moving any other way even if it was across the country.

The clumsiest move I have ever seen! A substantial number of pieces were damaged during storage. The movers broke a "one of kind" limestone top, admitted it was their fault; promised me the company will stand behind their mistake...and of course the company said you can't count on their own moving people providing promises. Tom Brass was the person who gave little to no effort to review and or apologize for the damage done the many pieces that were in JKs Moving and Storage possession. I called him over and over to let him know that his own people admitted fault and promised me that the damage would be covered and he did not even have the courtesy to come and review the damage done. They even tried to sneak in an extra month of storage which they did refund eventually...after several calls. I would never recommend this moving company to anyone.

I didn't accept their offer. All was fine; they were prompt and friendly. The only thing that stood in my way of accepting their quote was the price. They are good people.

The service they provided was excellent. This was the best moving experience I have ever had. From the beginning to the end of the move was just great. They gave me an accurate estimate the guys were extremely efficient and very courteous. They are very polite, professional, thorough and were terrific. The service cost less than what I had budgeted for; I have also recommended them to a colleague of mine.

Four men came out and it took 3.5 hours from start to finish to move our Jr. one-bedroom apartment from north Alexandria to NW DC. We were a smaller job, I think, and easier b/c we only needed our boxes and furniture moved into the first floor of the new place (upstairs floors need refinishing). Still, they were very quick and efficient and handled our things carefully. Well done!

I felt that they offered a reasonable price. I liked their philosophy in regards to their employees. They trained them. They did background checks on them. They had positive reinforcement by rewarding their employees when they did a good job.

So-so. Four people moved our expensive upright piano with a wobbly, small flat dolly and almost dropped it. They damaged the wood in the process.

I've been to about a half-dozen of these auctions. The last one did not use the same professional auctioneer that they used in the past, and it was much less organized and difficult to follow. But I still purchased some nice items and will likely return.

The person who gave the estimate was polite and seemed fairly thorough. Their facility was in good shape and did have the training facilities they reported. The packers came in for a long day--maybe 16 hours x 3 women. They were pleasant, and certainly used enough packing material. To the best of our knowledge, nothing they packed was damaged in transit. The only problem with the packing was that our boxes weren't labeled very well. Normally, this wouldn't be too big of an issue, but we needed to send the truck with many boxes to a separate storage facility, and we're still missing some things at the house and have many things that should have gone to storage. The day of the move, they brought about 10 movers. I've never seen so many of them. It seemed to be generally the foreman's preference to put a lot of guys on the job and finish quickly. The foreman was certainly an experienced mover, but we did have a hard time getting him to listen to us and understand us. Something of a gruff individual, who very much loved his cigars. He was somewhat rude to all but the hardest working movers, but he showed general respect to us and for our things. As I say, he did seem to know his business. Upon arrival in Mount Prospect, it was about the same. We really appreciated that our things were on the same truck, locked independently in their own section, and in the care of the same individual for the entire transit time. Even though the move foreman wasn't the greatest guy ever, we liked having him show up in IL still driving the same truck. No bait and switch with JK. For unloading, it was an elevator move with only 2 extra movers, so I jumped in to help, and we finished up in a reasonable amount of time. Our front door was gouged by a piece of exercise equipment, and that REALLY pissed off the foreman, but so far no one has tried to weasel out of paying for the repairs. We'll see how that moves forward. We aren't upset about the door though--accidents happen, and if this is the only significant damage to our property after moving 9000 pounds 700 mile, then we feel like things went pretty well.

The service people arrived within eight minutes of the early end of the promised time window and completed the wrapping and loading within 25 minutes. When they arrived at my home, I showed them where to place the pieces, and they completed the job efficiently and tidily. Before stepping into my home, they unrolled protective coverings for my carpeting. They then presented the work order, arranged for my card to be charged, and departed after leaving me a copy of the invoice. Unfortunately, I forgot to give them their tip, which I believe was well deserved.

It turned out to be a mixed experience. The movers were punctual, polite, efficient and professional and nothing was broken. The estimate came in right for time, so I would definitely recommend them for moving. However, the packing was a different issue and I don't feel it was such a good service and would not recommend it. An estimator came to the house and I explained that I wanted an estimate for packing everything as we were moving on short notice and I had small children and I didn't know how much packing I would be able to do. I showed everything in the house to be packed and he estimated 92 boxes at a cost of 1500. I wanted to keep the costs a bit lower so I brought and packed about 50 boxes myself. On the day the packers still packed 106 boxes and the cost was over $2000. I expected the estimate to maybe err a little on the low side in order to win the job but even so I was really annoyed at how far off the estimate was. I had hoped to reduce the stress levels of moving by getting packers, but in the end I think it turned out to be more stressful. Only one of the packers spoke any English and as they fanned out all round the house rather than working together in one room it was hard to give any instructions. They also left before the job was finished. When they had gone I found cupboards and closets and drawers still full. I wish I had done a more thorough check at the end but it was hard with small children in tow and then it meant that I was up till the small hours finishing the packing which is exactly what I had hoped to avoid! At the end of the move, I wanted to only pay for the moving rather than the packing until I had a chance to talk to someone at the company about why the estimate was so wrong. They were however very insistent that I pay all the bill immediately. They did say that they would send someone to look at the boxes to see what went wrong with the estimate but I had to unpack and get back to work urgently so by the time I had paid I just wrote it off to experience. So to be fair, I don't know what the company would have said or done if they had come to look at the boxes. But on the other hand, moving is a very busy and stressful time so you really want to use a company who is very professional and gets it right the first time. I still find it hard to see why they got the estimate so wrong when I showed the professional estimator all around my house. I was also a little annoyed that they were insistent that I pay all the packing before I could properly talk to someone as it was obvious that there was a big discrepancy as the bill was more than double the estimate and I was happily paying the moving charge and they had a large deposit.

They did a very careful job of clearing out the old house. They efficiently loaded up the new house and were quick in doing so. They took the boxes to the right rooms. When we mistakingly thought our sofa pillow was missing, they sent a claim form and got to looking for it. However, it turned out that the pillow was in a dresser. It was nice to know that we would have been well taken care of. They also stuck with their original estimate. We would definitely use them again.
