Hemax was wonderful to work with - Henry was extremely professional and responsive. Henry provided a detailed proposal and drawing and was always available to answer questions. They did quality work and delivered what they said they would even though their crew had to work out in the elements quite a few days. I would hesitate to recommend them.

When I realized my husband & I (both seniors) would not be able to keep up with the blizzard I tried to contact someone on Jan 22 who could help us. After several no responses or super price gouging from other contractors, I called Hemax. Marlin was handling the calls. She was professional, friendly, responsive. She worked with me on the price & what I could afford. I wasn't sure if we could keep up with our snow blower on the driveway but I knew we couldn't handle the areas that would have to be shoveled. Marlin & Tatiana, the office manager, stayed in contact with me & the 3-man crew showed up Sunday afternoon & dug us out. I had not expected them until Monday. We got a LOT of snow & drifts. The crew was very willing & worked hard. Hemax was flexible on switching the work from the driveway, which we were able to manage, to the other areas of snow that we couldn't manage. It was expensive but there was no way we could have handled those areas the blower couldn't reach. Marlin & Tatiana were great to work with & I would use Hemax again.

Extremely professional and responsive. Tatiana advised that it may be a day or two before they could do my mom's house. It ended up they were able to get her house that day. My mom was extremely pleased. My expectations were professionally managed and my mom was happy.

Excellent job. It's very refreshing - and rare - to have your expectations exceeded. Would use them again in a heartbeat.

Assessment of landslide/erosion of embankment and blocking of culvert was done carefully and expertly. Engr. Cruz was able to discuss specifically and responsively all likely risks from future flooding. The three person work team with backhoe was careful and thorough. An additional truck load of rip-rap was provided at no extra cost to protect the entrance and exit of the culvert. The result was a high quality and fully satisfactory solution to a difficult problem.

The price was competitive with other quotes for the work, but Hemax promised to do the work sooner. They showed up as promised. The crew was professional. About one month later the yard looks great.

My backyard needed to be 90% re-done to correct grading issues, fix various stone window and stair wells, and replace a terribly worn and ugly concrete patio. I do quite a bit of homework before selecting a contractor. I received bids from about 5 contractors that I filtered. Hemax was one of the two finalists, and I went with them because of gut feel. Henry was very professional and patient in the bidding process, and he and Max and Tatiana were super when we started execution of the project. Also, the crew they sent was superb. So many guys...unfortunately, I can't recall all their names (apologies). I would highly recommend Hemax and intend to use them again in the future. PS: My advice to people has always been that you have to work with your contractors and treat them well. If so, it is reciprocated.

HEMAX did a great job. They scheduled for utilities to be marked, but accidentally cut the (unmarked, not buried) Verizon FiOS line. HEMAX took care of contacting Verizon and making sure a tech came out to replace the line ASAP. During the process of removing grass, adding crushed gravel, they did a great job grading the installation so water flow during heavy rain ran exactly where it is supposed to. Impressive work all around!

Yard is still soggy, wish they have leveled the yard with a machine instead of by hand. Sod looked great for a few months and now has died while rest of yard is fine. Patio looks great but wish it was a slightly different shape. John was very responsive, patient with our questions, and always willing to come out and meet with us. Crew very professional and responsible.

Working with Henry was a pleasure. His crew worked through some cold winter days to complete the project. I had two retaining ways done in brick, one was perfect the other has slight imperfections. They were very good with landscaping and laying sod. The stone work is great but the in step lights were too far from center. Henry apologized but it was too late to move the lights so they added an external light at no extra cost. Henry did the design work with us in advance and helped get HOA approval. Liked working with them and would use them again. Just need to recheck all the final details before completion of project.

Hemax did a great job. Henry, who first came to survey the area (a mud pit, post-deck construction) did a thoroughly professional job, including recommending inclusion of a step from the house as well as tying in a drain from the HVAC, two items not included in a rival bid. He also came in app. $2,000 lower than the only other bid solicited. Hemax arrived on time and remained on the job until completion (five days). The three workers were careful, expert, and thorough. The materials are of top quality. They hauled all material along a narrow pathway behind two adjoining neighbors without a complaint. I cannot say enough about how pleased we are with the results. It is a joy to sit out on our beautiful new patio.

The job went really well. I met with Henry who is one of the owners of Hemax and he was a great listener and helped me with the design, as well as the choice of the materials. He made sure we liked to the stone and also gave us great suggestions for our patio design, paths, lighting and drainage. I showed Henry photos of things I liked and he created beautiful designs that were executed wonderfully by his construction team. We had one guy who managed the entire project from beginning to end (Max, Henry's brother is the foreman and he would check in to make sure the project was on schedule and all of the materials were delivered, etc). They guys showed up on time everyday, and even worked some Saturdays to make sure they could complete the job in a timely manner. Everyone that worked on the team did top notch workmanship and really cared about the project. They cleaned up after the end of each day, and were friendly, professional and a pleasure to work with every day. At the end of 4 weeks we have a beautiful patio, 2 long stone paths, drainage that is effective and nice lighting. I never was stressed out once because these folks know how to do things right. We are very happy with our new patio and appreciate the care and pride Hemax took to make our dream patio a reality! I am looking forward to them doing more work in the future.

While the were not the cheapest estimate for similar work, they were the most professional AND responsive. They did hit a utility line, but it was not their fault--was improperly marked. Hemax worked directly with Verizon to get our service back up and get all the repairs done with out our intervention.

They were great. Super fast, efficient and hard working. Came out awesome.

Removed the snow...job well done...a little on the expensive side.

The owner came out to do the estimate (Tulgar, I think?). Punctual, professional, had some great suggestions and listened to all of my commentary intently. He provided me with an estimate (very well itemized), and diagram at no charge. The price was a good bit more than I expected, but I suppose that's how these things always go. We opted to hold off on the work for now, but I would recommend him, most certainly.

HEMAX was very responsive from start to finish. Tatiana, the representative in the office, kept me up to date on all the progress prior to the start of the work. The crew arrived and immediately got to work. They were very professional and they cleared away all debris, leaving my yard presentable. The crew were very skilled and took care to secure my property from damage and restored the flowerbeds at the end of the project. I was very pleased with the work and very satisfied with the finished product.

Hemax was amazing from start to finish. From our very first meeting when Max came out to do the estimate, we knew he was the one we were going to hire. After obtaining 4 more estimates, sure enough we called Max and he immediately provided a conceptual sketch for the project. Once the project began, the service remained superb! Max and his entire staff were extremely pleasant, fantastic communicators and extremely professional. From the start, HEMAX project 2 weeks to complete all the work. Sure enough, they did just that. During the construction, the workers remained active and diligent from early arrival until they were done for the day (sometimes into the late evening). Through every step, they kept us informed about what they were doing and when they were doing it. When things popped up that we hadn't thought of, they immediately contacted us and gave us all options along with the pros and cons for each option which helped make our decisions very easy. Max came to the worksite (our home) almost everyday to check in and see how things were going. He kept the lines of communication open throughout the process. In the end, when all the work had been done, Max came out for a final walk through. He saw things that we would have never noticed. Without any hesitiation, Max had those minor imperfections corrected. By the time we did our final walk around with Max, we realized that he took the initiative to do some additional work (at no cost to us) to close off areas we hadn't thought about or that simply made the enitre project look incomplete. In the end, everything was perfect!!!! We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We are already looking at additional projects we want to do at our home. Rest assured, we won't look any further. We are definately using HEMAX again! Since our project was completed, a number of neighbors have raved about our patios, etc. All want to use HEMAX!

HeMax was neither the most expensive nor the cheapest to bid on the work on our driveway retaining walls, but Henry was the most knowledgeable about the work that was needed, had an extensive portfolio of beautiful prior stonework projects, and was willing to work with us and our budget. HeMax does the job correctly, with all permits, proper poured footers, drainage, etc. Work involved moving some existing underground sprinkler pipes before the demolition and excavation was done, all part of the package at no extra cost, and undertaken expertly with no damage to the pipes. Henry met us at the stone vendor to pick out the stones we wanted, and his stonemasons, ARTISTS really, did an absolutely gorgeous job of facing all the walls. We love the finished product. Our neighbors have used HeMax also, and another neighbor stopped by to ask about our project, took our recommendation and referral, and had HeMax do THEIR driveway and retaining wall work also. Couldn't be more pleased.

From start to finish HEMAX was excellent to deal with. Very responsive to email and phone questions, and they even dropped off samples of the paver we were considering. Their communication was excellent telling us in advance of when they were going to start work and they completed the job in three days (as thye said they would). This was for a rental property and it was important that they were quick, thorough, did not disturb the tenants and were neat. They were all this and more. Best of all, they had the most competitive price compared to the other contractors that gave us proposals. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again and would highly recommend.

Cost is a little pricey. They do good work but don't expect them to go the extra mile. If they do start up service on your sprinkler, that's all they do, clean out the pipes and make sure the heads come on. they don't re-align the heads. I had some that were not coming up and had to call them back, others were watering the side of the house instead of the lawn (took care of that myself.)

The construction team did a super job! The crew removed the old steps (15 years old) and reconstructed trex composite steps with railings. In addition, they reinforced them! The crew was very nice, courteous, helpful, skilled and they cleaned up every day before they left for the day. We could not be happier with the results! The stairs look and feel great!

They did great work and were very professional.
