Ken came out as promised very quickly after the estimate request was made, and immediately quoted us a very good price that we were perfectly satisfied with, and signed the contract then and their. They came out a week later to do the work, and it was top notch...no debris was left in our front yard, and the new gutter system and roof guides were installed to the exact specifications we asked. Very professional and a great value...we no longer get woken up by thunderstorms or need to worry about water damage to our siding!

The Gutterman company responded promptly to our request for an estimate and arrived early. The gentleman giving the estimate even provided us with a coupon from the newspaper for us to use. Work began promptly and finished ahead of schedule, on the day it was scheduled. The workers cleaned up after themselves and the gutters looked great. We've not had one incident with the work or materials. The gutters never clog or need maintenance.

I'm not sure what the company policy is, so I'm just telling you the experience I had... The description in Angie's list said the company did both repair and replacement gutters, but when I called to ask if I could get an estimate for "gutter repair or replacement" on a house in Silver Spring, Maryland, the woman answering the phone said "which are you looking for, repair or replacement?" I said, "Well, naturally I'd prefer repair over replacement, but do you just one or the other, not both?" She said, "We don't do repairs in Silver Spring, but will we can do replacements there." So, I said "That's fine, then can someone come out to do an estimate for replacement?" She said, "But you said you wanted repair, so have you called other companies for repair? You should just call a local company in Silver Spring to repair them." I wasn't sure what to make of that, so after a pause, I said "Um, OK, well thank you I guess never mind," and then she hung up. In my opinion, it seemed like an odd way to handle customer inquiries, but it very well could be she was just new or confused. Just something to keep in mind if you're interested in having them do a job in Montgomery County, I guess. (They might be very good at doing gutters, they just weren't willing to come to Silver Spring.) Good luck!

B-rating for responsiveness was primarily weather related. All appointments, from estimate to installation, were on-time. Very professional work and clean-up.

They showed up on a rainy day and completed the work in a timely manner. When they were finished, they informed me and let me know how the job went and if they found anything wrong. Great job and I will use them again.

The first time we contacted them we had water underneath our floor which was making the wood bow. The other service we tried to use was too busy for us. So I ended calling Gutterman Services and they came and did the work.

They were very professional and didn't push the high priced product on us. They had the job done within the day. They provided a 5 year warranty on their work.

The experience was pretty good, with only a couple of bumps. My initial impression was very good, as the person who answered my initial phone call seemed very knowledgeable, and also provided a picture of the gentleman (Ken Killmeyer) who would be coming to do the estimate. This is a great idea! Mr. Killmeyer called on that day and said he would be a bit early, that was unexpected and very much appreciated. Mr. Killmeyer seemed very knowledgeable, and explained about Gutterman's covered gutters and lifetime guarantee. Mr. Killmeyer then provided me with a book of pictures of Gutterman's work, as well as testimonial letters, while he measured my townhouse. When Mr, Kilomeyer provided the estimate, I told him it was acceptable and that I wanted to proceed with the work. During this discussion, I mentioned that I was concerned about the downspout on the back of the house, which runs under the concrete slab outside my walkout, and that it might be clogged from years of debris. Mr. Killmeyer suggested that Gutterman could move the downspout to the opposite side of the townhouse, onto the ground, and that Gutterman would provide a splash block for it. The contract Mr. Killmeyer provided did NOT have this, i.e., moving the downspout, on it, but Mr. Killmeyer assured me that he would correct the work order. Gutterman called within several days to schedule the work. The work crew of two arrived as scheduled and did a great job. However, the crew foreman came to get me when the job was almost finished, to say that the bigger downspout did not fit into the drain pipe at the back of the house. I had to inform him that Mr. Killmeyer had agreed to move the downspout to the opposite end of the gutter. The foreman said he had not been told about this, but he said that he would make the change. The crew performed the change efficiently, but, of course, did not have the splash block I was promised. The crew apologized for this and said that I should call the office. Clean up was very good. On leaving my home, though, the crew backed their truck up into one of the Dominion power lamp posts. My neighbor brought this to their attention, and the crew moved some dirt around to shore up the lamp post. I then called Gutterman to report about the lamp post, in case additional repair was needed, the office person was very courteous about this. I also told the office about the problem with the work order and the missing splash block. The office person told me that the crew would be out in a few days to deliver and install the splash block. The gutters work well, and I am pleased with that. I am a bit peeved about the mistake in the work order, but it was quickly fixed, for no additional charge.

Great experience. We met with a representative to get an estimate. Then scheduled the work to be performed. The work was done in a few hours with no issues. Overall it was an easy and quick process and the people at Gutterman seem very knowledgeable.

Gutter cleaning was done very quickly. Once the drain lines were snaked everything seems to be working well. Personnel who came out were helpful and knowledgeable.

Top service. The "foreman" walked around to check the gutters after the work was done, then sent his helper back to re-do several nails.

I emailed this company to request for an estimate for gutter cleaning for our two homes. They never replied to my email, so I finally decided to call them. The woman on the phone was very polite and was able to provide me with a verbal estimate for the cleaning. She also said that they could come out in the next few days (so no long wait). Unfortunately, the prices were significantly higher than other firms that I called for gutter cleaning, so we'll probably go with another company.

My house is one story in the front, but 2 stories because of a dormer in the rear. I called several companies for estimates to replace old gutters. J.C. Houk of Gutterman came within 2 days, was very professional, showed me samples of all the products, made suggestions which did not push the higher price products. Gave me estimates for 3 different systems. Gutterman was not the least or most expensive, but I thought offered the best value. I opted to go with the mid priced option for the lower gutters, but the more expensive K Guard for the upper gutter. Within 5 days of submitting the contract I received a call saying that the contract and deposit had been received, and their schedule was running at about 2 weeks and they would call several days before the work was to begin. In less than a week I was called to say that a crew was working in my area and could come in 2 days. The delivery of materials arrived about 9:30 and the two man work crew arrived about 2 hours later. They began work, immediately taking down the old gutters, preparing and installing the new gutters and downspouts. They worked quickly and professionally, cleaned up the entire area even blowing leaves off my sidewalks and driveway. By 4 P.M. the job was complete. The gutters look very nice and the work was well done.

Our estimator (Ken) was terrific and was very accommodating while we went back and forth with deciding a color. He did a thorough job assessing the house and what would work best. The installation of the gutters went fine. I think they could have done a better job cleaning up as I'm still finding nails and aluminum scrap in the yard. The K-Guard system seems to be working great. And with leaves falling, I'm glad to know we won't have to clean our gutters anymore.

JC took the time to come out and go over all of the work to be done and even made some recommendations on how to save money. Neil, who performed the work, went overboard in ensuring that the repair didn't look like a patch job, which meant replacing more wood than was quoted, for no additional labor charge. His professionalism was outstanding.

No problems other than their price being way more than everyone else.

They were excellent. The whole process went well. They were professional and knowledgeable. They were a little high priced but it was well worth it. I would recommend them and continue to use them in the future.

He was almost half the price of other quotes I got. His materials are excellent and top of the line. I knew he knew his pricing and how to do the labor. He made several other suggestions and possibilities. He was very mindful of the environmental aspects of his material and labor.

When we signed the contract w/ the company, I very specifically wrote on the contract and on an attached cover letter that I wanted the work performed on either a Monday or a Tuesday. I also wrote in my cover letter that I was an Angie's List subscriber, that I had found the company on Angie's List, and would be writing a report after the job was complete. When my signed contract was received, I got a phone call indicating that my contract, Angie's List coupon and cover letter was in-house. Days later, on a Saturday, a manager from the installation department came by our house to take additional pictures of our home and take more measurements. Several weeks passed. I did not receive a call from anyone stating that my work was scheduled. Then, on a Wednesday morning, moments before I left for work, a Gutterman truck pulled up in front of my home install my gutters. When I explained that I had not been notified and NEVER wanted an installation on any day other than a Monday or Tuesday, they apologized and said I really didn't need to stay that I could leave and go to work they'd be fine! I called the office. Quite simply, the woman who answered needs to go back to Customer Service school. Her first response was, 'but they came all the way from Springfield, VA to do your job." (While I do recognize that my home in Montgomery County, MD is not exactly next door to Gutterman's offices, this was not my fault and was not the response I wanted to hear.) She also told me that I didn't need to stay that the crew didn't need me to stay to install the gutters. (That I was spending MY money on MY home and had expressed an absolute desire to be present for the job from the very beginning seemed not to occur to this woman or to the men dispatched to do the installation.) After a considerable time on hold (while she attempted to track down a manager in installation), she returned to me and told me that she was sorry but "my job had fallen through the cracks." Her initial reaction to my phone call ("but they came from Springfield...") coupled with this confidence-buster really annoyed me. I wanted to cancel the contract immediately, but decided to let them leave, go to work, and think about how I wanted to proceed. No one in a position of authority called me later that day, the next day, or on Friday to apologize or schedule installation. Finally, on Friday afternoon, I called the Gutterman and demanded that a Manager call me on Monday to schedule my job and apologize for the incident on Wednesday. I was late for work because of the events of that morning! On Monday, I got a call from a manager at Gutterman who arranged my installation, but did not apologize for my experience on the previous Wednesday. When my installation(s) gutters and siding happened, I was very pleased with the workmanship. However, I am still annoyed by management's clumsy customer service.

Overall a good experience. When I placed a call, they were upfront about their backlog and that it would be up to 3 weeks for them to get to the townhouse, but they would call a day ahead. No requirement to be home as long as water was available. They called a night before and came when they were supposed to. Someone was home and said they handled the job well. They left a note at the door to summarize their services. They also followed up later to provide an annual contract for gutter cleaning.

Estimate and work completed were spot on. Clean up of area after installation was excellent.

Very professional job. Cleaned and inspected gutters and did a fine job tacking back the downspout that had pulled away from house. They did not try to "up sell" or suggest that all my gutters should be retacked -- really appreciated that! Will definitely use them again.
