He even gave me new tubing formy washer! I am very satisfied. Sorry that I must average my reviews so the best I can give overall is a C. I want to be fair to all who read this. They made it all good. They go all out to please. They are fair. I am satisfied.

+ -1 moreI had a service done on my dryer, the technician asked when I had the vent cleaned. I said not in 3 years since I moved into this new house, he did not do cleaning but recommended that it should be done. Found Dryer Vent Wizard, spoke to rep and said that they would give an estimate after a $39 inspection. I pressed him for an average cost and he said most were around $200. After inspection he said it would be $350 for the cleaning, 25 for repair, 39 for service. He gave me a $10 off because of Angie's list. He was polite, seemed to know what he was doing; when questioned him about pricing, immediately got his binder out and showing how and what is charged. Way too much information thrown at you at once with a tight personal schedule. He said I should not need it done for another 3 years. Paid the bill but after a month still have buyer's remorse that I paid too much. Called corporate, they had the dealer call me. He did. After lengthy discussion, he went into detail that they have $1000's of dollars in equipment, transportation costs, etc. Offered to not charge the service fee. I told him no thank you that I still felt overcharged. I will not use this company again. You get what you pay for, but I think these fees are excessive.

Description of Work: I noticed that my dryer was taking a longer time to dry my clothes. It would usually take 1.5 cycles. Dryer Vent Wizard responded immediately to my service call and cleaned my dryer vent within a week. Boy, did it need to be cleaned! The technician was super friendly so much so that I asked for several business cards so that I could hand them out to my friends. He was right, my drying time is now cut in half which will save me money on my electrical bills. Great service!

+ -1 moreFor a long time (too long, actually) my dryer had not adequately dried our clothes in one cycle. After reading that a clogged dryer hose and vent could contribute to a house fire, I was afraid to leave home while the dryer was running until I could get someone to examine our hose and vent. It helps to call the 1-888 number rather than the Virginia phone number to schedule an appointment. They arrived within the window of time I had scheduled, turned on the dryer, and proceeded to see if any air was coming out of the vent outside. Since very little air was flowing out, they pointed out to me that the existing vent cover was slowing the flow of air and lint and was probably the cause of the hose blockage. After removing the cover, they cleaned out the hose from the outside and installed a new cover that allowed air to flow out, but also did not allow animals to climb in. They were very efficient in their work. I would hire them again if I am having a problem with the dryer not drying clothes in a reasonable amount of time.
Description of Work: Dryer Vent Wizard replaced the vent cover to the outside of the house and they cleaned out my dryer hose to the vent.

We hired Dryer Vent Wizard to clean it out when we sold our home. The technician (Jason) was prompt, thorough, and professional. We have since moved 3 hours away from Northern Virginia, and would not be able to use DVW again, but highly recommend them. This is their only line of work, and they are pros at it.
Description of Work: The technician cleaned out a build up of dryer lint in the dryer vent line using specialized brushes.

Description of Work: Replaced about 14 feet of dryer vent tubing due to existing tubing not being up to code. The work to replace it was done promptly and high quality; however, the cost was much higher than anticipated given the amount of time (1.5 hrs) and materials involved in the repair / vent cleaning. I know now alot more about these issues and if ever have to repeat, will certainly shop around a little first.

I decided on Dryer Vent Wizard because this is all they do, as opposed to duct cleaning companies that include the dryer vent. Understanding how flammable dryer lint is, and the fact that it had been about 15 years since I had my vent cleaned, I scheduled the appointment. The technician arrived right on time and did the 10-point checklist. He even noticed that the water shutoff valve to my washing machine was leaking slightly. The technician cleaned out my dryer vent thoroughly and I opted to have the vent line covered with a metal material rather than the original foil, which added $89 to the cost. I recommended Dryer Vent Wizard to my neighbors.

+ -1 moreDryer is located next to wall to directly vent outside. Lint was collecting behind the dryer because it hadn't been installed correctly. Jason showed up within the appointment hour given. He checked out the problem, replaced the vent, clamped it to the dryer (which hadn't been done before), He put a new and better cover outside which he screwed into the brick, and cleaned everything up. He said the work was guaranteed, and if for any reason the metal vent hose becomes disconnected to the dryer just give Dryer Vent Wizard a call and they will come out and fix it for free. Who could ask for more? I couldn't be more pleased.

Description of Work: The new Maytag dryer would not dry clothes. I was told by dryer technician to call these folks. I called and they came out to find that the Dryer vent was not functioning. Also part of the line was plastic pipe which is not up to the building code. This meant they had to rerun the vent line. They cleaned up after finishing the work and the dryer works fine. This was after I had an HVAC contractor clean the line prior to the installation of my new dryer. The never checked their work or the fact that most of the line was plastic hose.

Description of Work: We noticed our dryer was taking progressively longer, often two cycles, to dry a load of clothes. Since it is fairly old, we thought it might have a mechanical or electrical problem. The home appliance repair person came on Oct. 25 and quickly determined our dryer vent was plugged up. He recommended Dryer Vent Wizard. We called and the company scheduled a next day appointment. The technician showed up between the two hour window, did a quick check and confirmed the dryer vent was plugged. As an aside, we have never had the dryer vent cleaned out. An earlier water line repair resulted in a 90 degree elbow being hooked back up. When our home was built iin the mid-70's, the dryer vent route to the outside was very creative: a flexible pipe thru the ceiling, a 90 degree turn for the pipe to run parallel with the laundry room floor, another 90 degree elbow and up about two feet, another 90 degree elbow and a 14 foot straight line to the exit point. The Dryer Vent Wizard technician used a multi-section flex wand arrangement with a brush at the end. This brought out a LOT of dry lint as well as water soaked lint. Once he was done, the dryer vented to the outside as it was supposed to. The technician cleaned up both inside and outside. I marked price a B because I have no idea what a "good price" is for this sort of work. A number of other Northern Virginia companies were listed via Angie's List. When we have this done again, and we won't wait 30 years!, I'll check price more closely.

+ -1 moreJason was prompt and very professional. After surveying our upstairs laundry room, he decided to work the cleaning from the outside and work inward. That was a good call since he discovered a dead bird trapped in the vent that somehow got past our 4 louvered vent cover. He recommended the latest design to prevent birds from nesting which was a 2 door vent cover. I was leery of it, but the serviced had priced in a lifetime guarantee. It has been 2 months now with several thunderstorms under that vent's belt. Jason let me see the work, dead bird, lint, etc before he cleaned it all up when he was done with the vent. This is the second time I used this company.
Description of Work: Upstairs 35 foot line dryer vent clean out and vent cover installation. Removed a dead bird in the line and installed a 2 door vent cover, designed as an anti-bird/pest cover. Includes a lifetime guarantee. Contractor worked from the outside. The vent was generally ok, but the bird was the problem.
