Terrible. I asked for a quote, they would only give me ranges. I was in a bind and needed this done. Once onsite technician gave me a ridiculous quote of $325 for the cleaning, $100 to remove the clog, $50 for the service call, and $125 if I wanted a screen installed over the vent. He gave me a hard sell about the fire hazards and dangers of a clogged vent. I paid the $150 for the call and clog. Called another company who came right out and cleaned the vent for $90. No fuss, no hassles, done in a matter of minutes. Dryer Wizard upsells and uses hard sales tactics to overcharge. Avoid these losers.

My dryer exhaust vent runs for 25 feet under the house in the crawl space. The vent pipe would begin to clog every couple years and I would replace it myself which is usually an all day affair that is neither easy or fun. Mitchel from Dryer Event Wizard evaluated the situation and came up with a permanent solution that allows the vent to be cleaned from the exterior of the house. Very professional and did a fantastic job the same day.

Tech was on time, friendly, completed service promptly and effectively.

Called for dryer vent cleaning service. The "call center" couldn't give me an estimate cost but said the tech would call me before coming to give my an estimate - scheduled appointment but I told them to have them call before they come. They never called - I contacted them again to tell them to call before coming; however they never called first and just showed up at my house for the appointment. The tech wasn't wearing any protective gear (facemask, gloves, etc) due to COVID-19. I told him to leave my house - no workers should be entering a person's home without proper COVID-19 protection. Had Six Penny do the work and they showed up with mask, gloves and booties on their feet and Six Penny did a great job!

I contacted Dryer Vent Wizard of N. Va. to clean my never-before-cleaned, clogged dryer vent. The whole process was smooth, quick, and professional. I called, reached a person right away, and got an appointment for the next morning (9-10am). Andre, the tech, called shortly after 9am to give an estimated time for arrival. He arrived on time (before 10am), looked at our vent, gave an estimate for the cleaning, and then got down to work. He was efficient and courteous. All in all, quick and painless. The cleaning itself was $99 (though, to be fair, our dryer vent hose is quite short, so your mileage may vary). We also got a vent cover for $59. The only drawback is you have to pay a $39 diagnostic inspection fee whether or not you hire the company for a cleaning, which kind of pot-commits you to hiring the company for the cleaning (and thus inhibits price comparison -- unless you've already received estimates from other companies). But since the cleaning price ended up being reasonable, not a big deal for me. Would hire again.

Dryer Vent Wizard was very professional, approachable, and timely. They cleaned the vent, changed the vent cover, and installed a new transition venting. The work was well done but a bit pricey.

The technician, Cassie of Potomac Services, did an excellent job with a reasonable price. I was very happy with professional handling of the job.

Like others, I have mixed feelings regarding the service that Dryer Vent Wizard of Northern Virginia provided. Overall, I think they did a great job cleaning my dryer vent, which has a long run with several 90 degree bends. That said, I paid a steep price for that service to the tune of $476.04. My appointment was supposed to be within a window from 10:00AM to 1:00PM. At around Noon, the technician, Ben G., called and said he would be a little late. I said no problem. About an hour later, he calls back and asks if it's OK if he shows up around 5:00PM. I have plans later on that night, but say it's OK. He calls one final time to state he is on the way as it approaches 5PM. After he arrives, he inspects the dryer, the transition venting (tube from dryer to vent hole in house) and the entire vent line to the outside of the house. Well, what he can see of it. I have a finished basement, so a lot of it is not exposed. To his credit, he does get his ladder, and gets it into a very tight space in my water heater closet to inspect as much of the dryer vent line as possible. He also runs the dryer to see how much air flow there is coming out of the vent. I had checked this myself and knew it wasn't much. After the inspection, he gives me the following estimate: $235 for the dryer vent cleaning. My old aluminum vent cover was bent and barely hanging on, as it was 23 years old and original to the house, so he offered me a plastic replacement for $78.00 installed. He also suggested I change the transition vent line from the one I had (aluminum that once bent, stayed bent -which could cause a blockage) to the one he carries in which it is more flexible, and returns to normal if pushed in. Basically, it's crush proof. It seemed like a good idea, and the price for that was $89 installed. I was then told that my dryer could use a cleaning, and that is was $35 for that service. I balked at that, and likely because I accepted the other items, he offered it to me for free. Now, I knew the prices for the vent cover and transition line were ripoffs, but he had them both here, and I just wanted this job done, so I accepted it. I regret it now, because it really was a ripoff. The vent cover can be purchased at Home Depot for $17.00 and the crush proof transition line can be purchased for $11.00. That means I was charged $61 labor on the vent and $78 labor on the transition line. Both are significant ripoffs IMO. That said, I agreed to it, and both jobs were professionally completed. Not exactly difficult work, however, and wish there wasn't as much price gouging as there appears to be here. I understand that this is a "for profit" business, but most of the complaints here are about the pricing, not the quality of the work. One would think that the company would lower the prices for more customer satisfaction, but that doesn't appear to be the case. As for the rest of the cleaning, he attacked the vent line from inside the house, from the vent outside the house, and he actually took sections apart where he could access it from the hot water heater closet and cleaned from there. Overall, he spent 3 1/2 hours here working on our dryer vent system. I think the quality of the work and attention to detail was excellent. Quite a bit of lint was removed from the system. That said, it was an expensive effort - and really it doesn't need to be THAT expensive. Ben G, the technician, wore shoe covers inside the house and did a good job cleaning up. No issues at all with him. In the end, I'm happy with the work, not happy with the pricing, but was told I wouldn't have to pay the $39 fee if I get another cleaning next year, and would also get 20% off as well. Would I hire again? Yes, now that I won't have to pay the $39 fee and have a 20% off discount. And I would just do the vent cleaning, and not accept any other product or service.

Tech showed up about 20 minutes before the end of his 4 hour window. After examining the dryer he indicated he would need to put in a new junction box behind the dryer as the one we had was insufficient and a fire hazard. [The installer was a professional, the dryer vent cleaner was probably a college student}. He then suggested we needed an animal trap on the exhaust to keep animals from getting into our dryer. Not free. Then the offer of an annual renewal program. Not free. Then he started to work and complained that our exhaust line would not allow his brushes to get to the end of the vent. Never had that problem before. We told him to just do the best he could and leave. Sorry to be abrupt but just tired of being cross sold and up sold for things we didn't need. Just do your job.

Tech was easy to work with: punctual, friendly, knowledgeable. After he left though the dryer wouldn’t generate any heat. 5 phone calls to the main call center and no return call from the franchise. Called the tech who left his cell phone #, he didn’t feel it was related to his work. No accountability or management with this location, you’re out of luck if anything goes wrong.

Teller wanted my name, address, phone, and email address before she would disclose they have a $39 assessment fee.

It went fine. The guy worked in a downpour and was soaked to the skin but didn't cancel.

First off they had a $39 fee just to come out when I want to get an estimate for a dryer vent repair, actually a replacement. I needed to replace the one that I had. I just thought it was ridiculous. I am trying to give them business and they want to charge me to give me an estimate. All the other companies I reached they came out for free to give me an estimate. So I wasn’t really pleased with them. So I didn’t bother. They came up, they gave me an estimate and I said I was going to get other estimates from others before I make a decision and they started saying well we’ll reduce the cost of this X, Y and Z trying to win the work to do it now. When I stood firm and said no, I want to get other estimates the guy seemed very disappointed. He had expected to do the work and had scheduled his day as part of that. The next couple of hours he would be doing the work as if it was an expectation on his part. So I was kind of turned off by that. I think most of the work they do is dryer cleaning and safety check. This $39 was part of their fee to do the safety check which I guess they don’t even deduct it from the fee that they would charge you to do it. I said I am not interested in a safety check, there is nothing to check. I want to get an estimate for a building a new one, I need to replace the one that I have. Even though I tried explaining everything to them it was like they do business their way and it’s this way and the only way. So I was having to pay $39 for getting an estimate to replace the work that was there and their estimate was actually on the high side compared to the others also. For more than one reason I just declined, haven’t called them back. I give them credit for being on time. The things they said they would do they certainly do. They were prepared to do work. They didn’t listen to what I was wanting.

I should have known not to book an appointment with them when they would not quote me a price. My first appointment was scheduled for Tuesday, July 25. That appointment was canceled by the company because the technician assigned to my job was in the hospital and I was rescheduled for July 28. If you don't remember, that was the day of steady rain. I called the cell phone number of the person who rescheduled my appointment to ask to change my appointment because of the nasty weather. He showed up anyway and I went ahead with the cleaning. LET ME WARN YOU, THEY HAVE LOTS OF HIDDEN COSTS. $35 service fee just to come to your home. He said I needed a new transitional venting from my dryer to the vent. That cost me $89. The cleaning itself cost $168. Then he wanted to charge me $95 to replace my vent cover on the patio. No Way I said. On top of that he charged me $39 for a lifetime guarantee and maintenance package. I didn't understand there was a charge for that. So I am out $335.97 to clean my vents. And you should have seen the mess in my basement from him going in and out in the rain. He did not have protectors to cover his boots. He broke off one of the covers on my outside vent cover for the dryer and for the bathroom vent and never told me. That's what I find amazing. He had to have known he broke that. I will be calling the company tomorrow for an explanation.

Was quoted a price between $106- $189, was charged $264. Stains were left on the carpet. Would not recomend .

Went fine. They guy they sent initially had to call in some help since it ended up being more complicated then he initially thought, but they were still able to get it done that day.

Its been great. They were on time, prompt. Cleaned everything. They came in and put covers over their shoes. They were very thorough. Took the part off the back. They went over it, and told me the best procedures.

Did not have camera to check extended length of dryer vent through garage ceiling.
