I had a pretty good experience with them overall. Everything they did was above-grade professional. Even the guys handling the furniture, most of them didn't speak English, were all very courteous. They would ask us where to go with the furniture. My wife had labeled all the rooms with simple words on them. They would assemble the furniture and did no damage at all. We had like 17 boxes. They were just nice guys. We had a mistake early on because we had locks all over the apartment, so they were waiting very patiently for us to get the keys. There was an accident and my wife got stuck in the traffic. So, I asked the guys to break the locks. They didn't pressure us to do that or anything. They just stayed there. Everyone was very nice and very professional. There actually was one little problem. We have a piano and there are two pins that held the music stand in; the pins were lost. We don't know if they lost the pins or we lost the pins.
Description of Work: I used BoxCart Moving & Storage to store the furniture and to move us from our old house into the new place.

Wonderful experience! The communication and quote process on the front end was excellent. The crew of 2 who came the day of the load were prompt, very professional, and worked with great care to pack the boxcarts so my belongings would be safe in transit. I was so impressed that I will also use BoxCart to pack up and move the rest of my furniture and belongings. Only disconnect was the person who provided the quote said two things that were possibly incorrect, although BoxCart honored what he said after I questioned it--first he said the Angie's List 10% applied to storage too, which maybe it doesn't because the person who confirmed my services said it didn't, and second he said that wardrobe boxes would be provided free of charge (as loaners), and they tried to charge me $13.75 each for them. They reversed the charge for the 1 used (and have no intention of keeping. Small issues really and because they stood by what the quote guy told me, I was pleased.
Description of Work: Loading (and temporary storage) of 2 boxcarts with belongings removed from home for declutter before selling.

Our experience with BoxCart wasn't as seamless and positive as many of the reviewers here, but they still did a great overall job. Leon, the estimator, was extremely friendly and was very detailed and thorough in his approach. The folks in the office addressed all my concerns regarding insurance, valuation, and the contract. The moving team was actually early on both the packing day and the delivery day. I did not get a call ahead as I was promised and requested, which caught me off-guard considering I wasn't planning on being at either property an hour ahead of the estimated time (but happened to be, thankfully). The crew lead seemed a bit eager to make the paperwork seem as if the job was better for him (i.e. they started moving at 8:15am, but he wrote down 8:00am and told me he'd just take 15 minutes off the end time - rather than being accurate). Additionally, the crew seemed to move a bit slowly on the delivery day - I witnessed them standing around chatting multiple times during the move which I feel extended the job duration unnecessarily. However, they handled the move well, packed everything up properly, and nothing was broken upon arrival at our new home. Overall, a great job, but I feel the moving crew was not nearly as professional as the office crew.

As I am somewhat of a perfectionist, it frustrates me when there are simple, unnecessary issues that make a customer's BoxCart experience less than all "A"s! I sincerely apologize for the lack of communication from our driver, especially given that he arrived earlier than expected. I will most definitely remind all of our crew leaders about just how important it is to be on time (while being early is typically better than late, early is NOT always better!) and also to keep the customer apprised of any deviations from the expected arrival! I will also discuss the specific issue you brought up about the time written down for the start time, as well as making sure any and all breaks are documented and reduced from the overall time for the job. Understandably, during long moving days, even the strongest of guys need a moment to catch their breath, but that definitely must be documented in the "break time" section of the contract and therefore deducted from the invoice. Thank you for bringing these issues to my attention, so that I have the chance to correct these very simple, but also very important issues!! We thoroughly enjoyed working with you, and we hope to get a chance to assist with any future moves to prove to you we can be the stress-free, all "A"s mover we strive to be!! Absolutely first rate. This was my 20th move and it was the best. The crew showed up on time, worked hard and somehow fit everything into the truck. On the delivery end, it was a miserable day - rainy and cold. The crew was cheerful and absolutely focused on finishing the job. They worked very, very hard... got me unloaded. No damage. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

I hired them because they promised that my household goods would be put into pods as they were packed, locked up and I would have the keys. And, that those pods would not be opened until they arrived at my new location. I specifically told the estimator that I was moving south to another state. When I called to set up delivery, I was told to mail them my keys to the pods - that they couldn't transport the pods over state lines. That if I didn't mail them the keys, they would cut open the locks anyway and put all my belongings on a truck. I felt I had no choice but to send them the keys (they promised to send me the eight sets of locks and keys, that I had paid for, but haven't). I was very upset to realize that I was actually lied to from the beginning. I repeat, they knew I was moving to another state. I was also told I could request the same crew that packed me up to deliver my goods. I requested them, they said ok, but another crew showed up. I suspect that the repeated handling of my goods caused problems. Two drawers in my file cabinet won't open and it is warped. One drawer in a dresser is damaged and won't close.
Description of Work: Boxcart packed all my household goods and put them in eight pods. They locked the pods and gave me the keys (I had to pay extra for the locks and keys). My understanding was that the pods would be unlocked by me at the new location. That didn't happen. Boxcart emptied the pods into their truck and delivered the household goods on March 20, 2013.

I sincerely apologize for the miscommunication surrounding the handling of your belongings for your long-distance move. I feel very strongly that it was just that - a miscommunication – for unloading containers into a larger truck is standard for our long-distance service. Our company relies on referrals from our customers, and we encourage ALL of our customers to review their experiences; therefore, we truly strive to eliminate any “surprises” that could taint an otherwise pleasant move. Not that this will likely provide any comfort after-the-fact, but I will most certainly look at all of our communications to ensure that it is made very clear from the outset that there is no confusion surrounding our policies and practices for future long-distance moves. For clarification, when we move belongings out of state, the two primary reasons we do not transport the containers themselves are 1) cost to the customer and 2) condition of the customer's goods. First, the cost...each of our flatbed trucks carry 4-5 containers. Therefore, if we were to move 8 containers long distance, we would have to take two trucks, which equates to twice the transportation costs we would have to pass along to the customer. This would make it extremely costly for customers, and we strive to keep our prices within reason. By transferring a customer’s goods into one larger truck (a labor cost which we absorb and do not pass along to the customer), we’re able to keep our transportation costs in line with larger companies, while still providing individualized delivery service – meaning, we do not combine several customers’ belongings on a single shipment, as many of the larger moving companies do. Second, the condition of our customers' goods...each of our metal containers has a roof with a vent system, meaning there is a small gap under the roof of each container to allow air-flow, preventing stale air from getting trapped inside the container. This is essential in minimizing the risk of the adverse effects of humidity. However, the problem if we were to transport these containers long-distances at high speeds, as you would on a long-distance trip primarily on highways, there is a greater chance that road dust and debris could penetrate the roof vent, putting our customers at risk for soiled belongings. If any customer has a concern over the security of the transfer of his or her belongings to a long-distance truck, he or she is more than welcome to monitor the transfer in-person here at our warehouse. We are open to discussing any special requests a customer may have to ensure he or she is comfortable with the security of his or her belongings. Regarding the fact that we sent a different crew for the unload, it was strictly a scheduling necessity to ensure that we had the appropriate skill-level of crew for your job. Larger long-distance jobs require certain driver certifications, and while all of our crews are professionally trained to handle customers’ goods with care, not all of them have the same driver certifications. Therefore, it was necessary to switch the crew to comply with Department of Transportation regulations. However, I once again apologize that this was not communicated to you prior to the arrival of the crew with your belongings. Finally, I do want to thank you for bringing to light specific areas in which we as a company need to enhance our communication to ensure important issues such as yours are not repeated in the future. I am disappointed that the job did not go as seamlessly as we strive it to be, and I hope that we are able to assist you in the future to demonstrate the level of service and communication for which we are typically known. Everything went perfectly well; the pods were delivered on time and positioned in our driveway where we wanted them, and the crew packed them as carefully and professionally as if loading a van for a cross-country move. As an added challenge it was raining that day, and they were careful not to track the mud around. Their driver, the moving crew, and the folks at the office were very helpful and courteous throughout -- we'd definitely use them again and recommend them to our friends. (The cost shown was for the initial pod delivery and packing; there was of course an additional recurring monthly charge for the pods until we emptied and returned them.)
Description of Work: In preparation for a total basement renovation, we needed to empty the area of much furniture and storage items, so we rented two storage pods from Boxcart plus one of their moving crews to pack everything out.

I chose Boxcart initially for their customers service, which was excellent when I was making arrangements to store the contents of my studio apartment for a few months while I moved back to Chicago. Leon K. was responsive and advised me well on how I could minimize costs - or so I thought. Now I'm ready to haul everything back to Chicago, and since Boxcart doesn't do interstate moves, I arranged for another moving company to empty my storage unit and ship everything over. I connected Boxcart with the movers so that they could coordinate the pickup and I thought everything was on track until today. I got a call from a customer service rep confirming that I was planning to empty the storage unit and mentioning a $495 fee for removal. That sounded strange, so I went back through all my correspondence with the company regarding my move. No fee described, so then I dug up my original moving contract. No fee for delivery or taking storage out listed there either. In fact, it says "0.00" for the cost of storage-out. I emailed the company and asked if I was missing some fine print. Leon K. called me back and said that they needed to charge me for unwrapping and inspecting the contents of the unit before they could release it to the movers. This was not on the release form I signed or explained anywhere. In fact, all the discussion I heard was that the two parties would be able to transfer everything without unpacking it. I might have to pay for any blankets or other materials that belonged to Boxcart - but that can't add up to $495, especially when I already paid for materials in the move-out. I said I was willing to pay reasonable expenses as described to my movers, but $495 just to bring down a cart for someone else to load is ridiculous. If it's a matter of liability, I said that I'd be happy to reschedule so that I could inspect the items in person before releasing them to the movers. Leon got agitated and said "You can't!". As I explained that I was not informed, did not consent to this charge, and wanted some written documentation, we got cut off or perhaps he hung up. I responded by scanning and emailing them my invoice that lists NO charge for storage out. I also called the movers to ask if they were aware of these so-called liability matters or the need to unwrap and inspect everything. The movers were surpised and said that this was not what was discussed with them - they were planning the simple hand off with everything staying wrapped. Again, I got a phone call in response from Boxcart - this time from Aubrey. I've emailed again requesting a written itemized list of expenses and if it doesn't match what they told the movers, I'm filing a BBB complaint for attempted fraud. In any case, I'm thinking I now have to postpone the move so I can drive down and inspect everything. I couldn't believe a company with such good customer service would try to pull something like this, but now that I see these reviews I'm shocked. I'll be monitoring my bank account to make sure they don't try to pull anything. In that case, I'm most definitely calling my lawyer.

First, I must say, all accusations of fraud and other shady business practices are baseless, and I am appalled at the reckless attempt by this customer to slander our company’s name. Because she has refused the numerous attempts (both via phone and email) to discuss and resolve any outstanding issues, I can only assume these threats are an attempt to bully us into receiving free services. She has made it clear through several threatening emails to our personnel that she only intends to communicate through negative reviews and the Better Business Bureau. As stated to this customer via voicemails and emails, we have been (and we remain) willing to discuss this matter, so we may resolve any issues as swiftly as possible. Until this customer allows us an opportunity to understand and address her concerns, I am unable to adequately comment on the specifics in this review. However, I would like to make it extremely clear that one of BoxCart’s main priorities is complete transparency of costs for all services requested and ultimately performed. This is why we’ve implemented a confirmation of fees (along with confirmation of other logistical details of the requested service) with every customer PRIOR to a job taking place. The purpose of this call is to ensure that the customer is fully aware of the fees associated with their requested services PRIOR to any charges being incurred, and also to ensure that BoxCart provides the correct manpower and materials to successfully complete the job. It was during this pre-job confirmation call that our “Move Coordinator” went over this customer’s $495 fee which would simply cover the labor cost required to successfully complete her request to transfer her belongings to a 3rd party transport company. Should you have concerns as a result of this review or any other review, I urge you to call and speak directly to Aubrey Stowell or myself (BoxCart’s founders and co-owners). The crew arrived a little early both days. They were very courteous and professional. The job came in very close to the estimate that was provided in advance. They did not damage any of our furniture or goods, and did no damage to the houses at either location. We were very satisfied with their work.

I was moving to a new condo I had recently purchased and contacted BoxCart based on Angie's List reviews and discount. After getting estimates from a few different companies, I decided to go with BoxCart. Leon is in charge of scheduling moves and he was very helpful. He answered all my questions and clearly explained what was included in their costs. He even mentioned that clients can get used boxes from BoxCart for free. After I scheduled the move, I was referred to Sunni who would manage my move. Shortly after reserving my slot with BoxCart, I had to reschedule my move. Leon was more than helpful again. I was able to easily change my date and everything was set for the day of the move. The move team was led by Ernesto. A team of 4 arrived on time and began loading up the truck. The team worked swiftly and efficiently. After loading up the truck, we headed to my new condo which was in a high rise. The team set up on the loading dock and started bringing things up to the condo. Again, they were quick and efficient in unloading the truck. I was able to work with the team to arrange furniture and they even helped me after we set things up when I wanted to move some furniture around. The original estimate was 4 guys for a 5 hour move. Ernesto and his team did it in 4 hours! I was incredibly pleased with the professionalism and service of BoxCart and would definitely recommend them!

I contacted BoxCart for temporary storage to stage my condo for sale and for my first long-distance move. My timeline was suddenly changed and I had 4 days to pack and less than a week to get to my new home - all over the Christmas/New Years holidays! Although my hair was on fire, BoxCart responded calmly and was able to meet my new schedule. They were not the cheapest movers I contacted, but they did offer the flexibility. Their staff was very helpful, courteous and professional. I did all the packing (187 boxes) and the only thing that was broken was a glass I dropped when I unwrapped it! They arrived at my destination in FL early and quickly unloaded as I directed. After unloading all the boxes, they assembled both beds before they left. My only complaint would be that they wrapped mattresses in plastic instead of using boxes. From all the shuffling around from home, to truck, to storage, to truck, to delivery, the plastic on my king sized mattress was shredded. As a result, one corner of the mattress was slightly soiled because it got dropped in the mud (of course) when it was delivered - but I must say that BoxCart was quick to remedy the issue to my satisfaction. They stayed true to their fixed price so there were no additional charges (we've all heard about moving horrors). I would use BoxCart again.

Description of Work: BoxCart moved me down one floor in the same building. A small move; two bedroom apartment. They went above and beyond by carrying miscellaneous lose items from closets etc. I didn't pack well because of the scope of the move yet they responded and just carried anyway. I really appreciated it. It meant less for me to cart downstairs myself.

Everyone I have worked with at Boxcart has been exceptional. Being in Texas and arranging a move in the WA DC area was a bit stressful but I found Boxcart on Angie's List. We met up at the apartment and they did a great job packing everything up. They are now moving the stored items to Boston and arranging that has been easy as well.

I've used several moving companies for 6 cross-country moves and this move with BoxCart was the BEST! Leon provided the estimate and took great care to walk through every room before preparing a final bid. I interviewed 6 companies and all estimates were about the same but only BoxCart had a firm fixed price for my 15,000lbs (the others would change depending on the packing supplies). A fixed price is important because there are other moving expenses that arise and could cause a budget crisis with additional charges to a moving company. Jose and his team pampered me and assured that I would never use any other company. Do - relax knowing that the move is going to be handled with precision and professionalism. Don't - stress, everything will arrive on time and in perfect order.

This summer, BoxCart coordinated a whole-house move into storage while our home was being renovated for four months. From the beginning, when BoxCart was contacted to provide the estimate for their services and to offer guidance with preparing for the move, we were confident that our possessions would be handled with care. The staff was professional and responsive. On the day of the move, the moving crew called prior to their arrival and arrived at the agreed to time. Our furniture was wrapped well for transporting; and they were prepared to dismantle a very large and complex bedroom set which had two "towers" of shelving and drawers, overhead lighting, a built-in mirror and platform bed. Materials were installed to protect walls and floors and care was used in unloading the storage containers and using the mini-container lift to hoist the containers onto the truck. The onsite manager and his crew were efficient and professional and made the enormous task of moving less anxiety-ridden. Similar care, promptness and efficiency was provided when we needed to plan for the return of our possessions to our renovated home in the fall. With newly painted walls and refinished floors, it was important that scrapes, dents and scratches were kept to a minimum. When everything was returned to its original location, the walls and floors remained perfect, and our possessions and clothing looked the same way they did when they first left home. Our moving coordinators, Sunni and Leon, were available and helpful from start to finish. We will use BoxCart for any future moving and storage needs.

I had a somewhat complicated move, requiring packing my furniture and goods into two separate sets: one for short-term storage of a month or so, and the rest for longer term storage. Boxcart understood this immediately and gave me a clear and understandable estimate. They answered questions promptly. Other movers appeared confused by my needs or did not respond to questions. They arrived on time on the scheduled day and took only a few hours to pack everything that I had not packed, following labeling based on green and red dots I had applied and on labels attached to things. Only one short-term item did not appear when that material was delivered, and I may not have labelled it correctly. Nothing was broken or damaged. The number of "boxes" needed was within 1 of the estimated number. Their monthly charge per "box" was slightly higher than other movers, but I was comfortable with their approach and attitude, as compared with that of other movers I got quotes from. They moved the short-term boxes from storage to south-west Virginia, showed up at the scheduled time, and unloaded everything as I directed. No problems. The long-term delivery is still waiting on my finding a permanent place to live, but I anticipate smooth sailing. The "Address where work was performed" actually includes both Annandale and Abingdon VA addresses.
Description of Work: Packed furniture and personal items in home according to a somewhat complex set of requirements. Moved packed material to storage. Delivered first set as requested. No problems encountered.

All employees were very professional. Our goods arrived in excellent condition and the movers took great care as they moved some of the furniture up three flights of stairs. Overall an excellent experience.

Not a bad overall experience. The pick up of furniture was pretty easy and quick. I had them store the furniture for a couple more months than I anticipated, but that was not an issue. Delivery was good as well. Only qualms I had are: 1. They did not seem to understand that I wanted soft-cushion feet on the bottom of all of my furniture before they put it on my brand new hardwood. So, I had to go through myself and add this onto all of the furniture brought in. They helped with some of the larger pieces. 2. They did not put my shelving or crib back together. They were very meticulous in taking it apart when they packed me up, but delivery, it was just handed over. 3. When one driver had to leave for an hour to pick up over-flow, I asked if the clock was stopping. I was told that no, it wouldn't because he was leaving two others behind to put together my furniture.....They put ONE bed together during that hour and then sat outside. Again, putting the crib and shelving together would have been nice. I understand that people need breaks, especially from this type of work, but I don't feel like we should pay for them. The guys worked their butts off and did a pretty good job with putting things in the right spots, but I was a little irritated with the above items.

Extremely professional, quick, and repsonsive. Leon came out and provided us with an estimate and answered all our questions. The crew showed up at the exact time and hour they were supposed to and carefully loaded our stuff. They were great about carefully wrapping items that could be damaged. They covered the carpet in our houses and did not damage anything while moving large and heavy furniture. The truck was large and easily accomodated all our items. The move was swift and quick. We kept communication with Leon while we traveled separately and he was always responsive and answered all our questions. The guys showed up at our new location on time and unloaded all items carefully, working with us in placing the furniture in various spots in the new apartment. They diassembled and assembled our beds and other furniture as needed. Overall I found them to be professional, responsible and informative. The move was very smooth because of them and we appreciate al the headaches they saved us. I would definitively recommend (and have recommended them!) to friends and family.

We were given Boxcart's information from our Realtor. We called them to make an appointment for them to stop by and give us an estimate. Leon (Boxcart rep) came to our house and explained some options. We chose to do a declutter/move. This is where they take all of the unnecessary items from your home in order to make it easier to stage for sale or lease. With this, we filled 4 containers in March. We ended up leasing our home on June 15, 2012. We had to be out of our house by June 13, 2012 in order to get it ready for the tenants. We again called on Leon; he made things happen almost instantaneously. At this time, we are very happy, because we chose to use their packaging service. A crew of three individuals arrived to pack our belongings and get it ready to be moved the next day. They worked for about 10 hours straight, so we provided dinner. It is now June 14, 2012, we now have 14 containers to store for about 2 weeks while we await our new home to be completed in construction. Our new home is completed June 27, 2012. We call on Leon, yet again; he makes things happen right on time. We only had to wait 3 days for our belongings to arrive on June 30, 2012. However, we were never informed that we would be paying another $2975 to receive our containers. OK, now things are going to get a little uncomfortable. It is now the 30th. The Boxcart team calls arrives at 1000 AM to offload the first five containers. We did a walk through with the Lead and told him where everything should go; they seemed to understand. However, we had to explain over and over where things went due to a language barrier. Even though all of the boxes were marked by the Boxcart packing crew, we still had to keep watch on the delivery team while they moved boxes out of the containers and into the house. We ended up telling them to put all of the cardboard boxes in the garage, because we got tired of telling them where everything went. Although VERY professional, it would have been easier had there been an interpreter with the crew to tell them what we informed them of on the initial walk around as to where we wanted things. It was 95+ degrees outside, and we had just lost power due to the nasty storm that blew through on June 28, 2012, so there was ZERO A/C to be found except in our cars. The crew worked steady from 10AM to 6PM with only one or two breaks. KUDOS to them, I know I could not have done it. Now, we are unpacking the boxes all to find very simple items wrapped in a ton of paper (plastic utensils, carving boards, etc...) We found this to be more of a $$$ producer instead of a necessity. We start getting into the boxes labeled clothes, and find dozens of shirts and pants that have to be dry cleaned and pressed packed in a box like sardines. We are by no means happy about this, for now we have to take them back to the cleaners to be pressed again. This is going to cost around $1000.00 to be cleaned and pressed. We learned some things on this move about paying someone else to pack items, if you can DO NOT DO IT. We cannot say enough about the office staff, which we dealt with for payment and scheduling, and Leon for making everything come together immediately. Finally, after everything settles, we get our credit card statement. Our card has a very large balance and most of it is from BOXCART. It has been about 2.5 weeks since the move was finalized. I contact BOXCART to ask why the final sum was so high, and am told that I would need to call back to talk with the accounting department; at this time I request 1 invoice and was sent many invoices for the one move. Our schedule gets hectic, and another week goes by. Finally about 3.5 weeks have gone by now, and I am able to contact BOXCART again. This is where I had the opportunity to talk to the owner himself. He was very defensive of his company (rightfully so), but lacked any compassion for our situation, and understanding of why we were concerned. He asked me the question "What do you want me to do?" I told him that "I did not know, but that we were never informed up front that we would be charged twice for the use of the containers." He told me "You signed the contract, so you obviously knew what was being done." I told him that we felt mislead, and cheated for not being told up front that we would be paying double to use their containers. I told him that had we known this up front, obvious decisions would have been different during our planning stages for this move. We could have moved our entire house, with packing across the country (yes, I have estimates on this) for the price we paid them to move 52 miles. Overall, we have found that this company is not what they represent when "giving the layout" of what they do, and how they do it. Our suggestions to anyone using this company...READ THE FINE PRINT, ask questions on EXACTLY what you will be billed for, and have someone that can speak another language if you cannot. And ultimately...we do not recommend using this company at all as they are very misleading...find another mover !
Description of Work: Boxcart performed a "declutter" for us in March so we could put our house on the market. They came back in June and retrieved the remainder of our belongings until our new home was finished. We were not informed about a major charge that was going to be added for us having to put the remainder of our belongings in storage ($2975.00). I contacted them when we received our overall summary from the credit card we used on why the cost was incurred. The owner of the company "basically" told me, "you signed the contract, you knew what was being charged." The outcome of that conversation left me with the grand ole adage "BUYER BEWARE!" We would NOT use their packing service. They used a LOT of unnecessary paper (all of which was charged to us). Our dry cleaned clothes were stuffed in a box, and now have to be repressed (this is going to cost an additional $1000.00). I have pictures of how our items were pack paged if anyone wants to see this. I also want to mention that they packed a plastic baby bottle brush in 8 (yes EIGHT) pcs of paper. We want it to be know that you will want to make sure to use as little containers as possible. Each container is over $200.00. We ended up with 14 of them. We would NOT put our items in storage, but instead would have a ONE WAY move performed.

Description of Work: We needed to a quick move into a new apartment for my daughter. I called them two days before and they were able to fit us in. Scheduling was extremely prompt and professional. The office followed up several times before the move. The crew called the morning of to let us know they were on their way. They arrived on time. They very professionally packed up and moved furniture from our house, then stopped at a storage location to pick up more items. At this location, the moving part was not easy - very circuitous and cumbersome. They did an excellent job there. Finally, at the apartment, they completed the moved quickly and professionally. The guys worked so hard, non-stop, from the minute they arrived until the moment they finished. This is a great company!

Everything went fairly smoothly, and everyone was courteous and professional. Everything was originally loaded into PODS, but was unloaded and put into a tractor/trailer for the trip to Florida. I had not expected this, and it kind of negated the benefit of using the PODS in the first place. Overall, though, the move was successful with no more problems that normal.
Description of Work: Boxcart packed and moved us out of our house in Annandale, VA, stored our stuff for 2 months, and then delivered it to our new home in Fort Myers, FL.

We will certainly make sure to clarify this matter for future moves. The transfer of belongings from containers to a truck for long-distance is standard, due to the delivery logistics and costs. For example, in your case, with 13 containers, it would require 3 separate trucks to drive to FL. The transportation costs alone would make this extremely expensive and cost-prohibitive for our customers. By transferring the belongings to a truck, we only have the transportation costs for 1 vehicle to pass on to the customer, keeping the costs to a reasonable amount. The guys were great. They sent a team of 3, and they all worked very hard and very quickly. They did a great job wrapping and protecting our furniture and televisions so that nothing broke. They placed everything in the new home as we asked without any complaint, and they were very professional the entire time. Prior to the move, the company remained in contact with me to ensure all of our needs would be met. Thanks to all.

We called them to move our belongings out of the house we were renting to storage and then once our house was finished, move everything from storage to the new house. Our estimate was for 5-6 bins, in reality we used 9. And due to the shortage, the movers had to wait almost 2 hours for the additional bins to show up before they could begin loading again. I will say this, my husband called and Boxcart was wonderful, we split the cost of the extra bins and were not charged for the extra labor hours. Everything was in storage for approxmately 32 days. I was very impressed that the storage was climate controlled since we have several pieces of furniture that are over 100 years old. The guys arrived on time to unload and were wonderful about covering the floors, walls and banisters, they did a great job. We did make sure to feed both crews, as they worked over lunch. And made sure to provide plenty of water, as the temperatures were high on both days. My only complaint is that we were charged before being notified of the final costs. Other than that, they were wonderful and I would recomment them highly.
