BoxCart Moving & Storage

They bring a 8x8x5 container. You load it up and they take it to their warehouse. I have three of them right now and will be doing a fourth soon. I pay $220 a month for three pods and even have a climate control storage unit I can go in and out of. The truck driver was professional when he came to get the pods.

Couldn't be happier. Professional crew, took great care not to get my home dirty, wrapped the furniture so it would not get scratched. Stored our belongings for 3 days until we got settled on our new house. Can't rate them high enough! Very impressed! Very happy! Would use them again and would recommend them to friends and family.

Despite challenges of circular staircase in one property and tight stairways in other, every effort was made to get all of our furniture in place. Some didn't fit, and some fit but leaving scuffs and scrapes on walls, but not for lack of trying. All were prompt and very communicative along the way. Price was lowest of three estimates received. The movers were polite, and wrapped furniture and took care with our things.

My husband handled the first 2 stages of our move. I handled the last stage. I called the company to double check how much it would cost for our final stage.Traffic can get backed up on 95 south and a one hour trip can easily become a 2 1/2 hour trip so I asked the company what it would cost. I was told that it was $160.00 per hour plus a one time transportation fee of $160.00 dollars. I said to the staff member " Oh that's great,only a one time fee for transportation because it can be almost 3 hours to Fredericksburg." I said this a couple times. She also explained that the movers sign in when they get to your house and sign out when they leave, and sign in to the new residence and sign out when they leave. So I was left with the impression that the one time transportation fee was for the 50 mile trip to my our new home. I confirmed this with the staff member several times . She even emailed me saying that there was a one time transportation fee.(they did not explain transportation to where though) When the furniture had been delivered to our new home I was told that that I would have to pay for the two hours to Fredericksburg (surprise!). and in addition I would have to pay another $160.00 for them to just come out to my house in the first place. We tried calling the company at that point to have them clarify to the movers that there was really only a one time transportation fee as I had been told. They did not pick up the call and did not call back. The next day I called the company and explained that their movers must have made a mistake and explained what happened. The staff just said they would have to check and would call be back. At that point I realized that we had been deliberately mislead to believe that there would only be a one time transportation fee. I had asked an honest question and gotten a deliberately misleading answer.The staff member was aware that I was under a wrong impression and purposely was not clear. We explained that we wanted a price adjustment told them we were stopping payment on our check but to call us back soon and we would work it out with them. The owner did not call us back for a week until our realtor called her. The owner then told us that she could charge us with a felony for stopping payment. Box cart has a arsenal of legal back up in fine print. They made it clear to us that they wouldn't hesitate to use all the legal muscle available to them including charging us with a felony. So they mislead us and then we became the criminals. Very tricky. They owed us $150.00 dollars for a damaged ottoman and in loo of paying us for the ottoman they charged us $150.00 less. They would not make any adjustment for misleading us about the one time transportation fee. This is a tough company that has no concern for customer satisfaction. It appears they are not interested in repeat customers so they don't care how they treat you. Their employees read from a script designed to trick the customer. I found out that regular movers charge $80.00 and hour and this company was charging $160.00 and hour. Twice as much! They get away with this because they use " Pods". Many people who are staging their houses want to store their extra stuff. If I had it to do over again I would have hired a small local company to take my extra stuff to a near by self storage unit. There by paying $80.00 per hour instead of $160.00 and have access to my things and pay a lot less. I spoke to the owner and she was very hard nosed. She would not even listen to one word I had to say and denied any wrong doing and charged us for every cent possible. Yikes! Folks, think if they pay more for a mover they will have less stress , well not if you use Box Cart Movers , behind the cute logo and scripted salesman lies a hard nosed company that is dishonest with the customer. From what I observed they were also very h****** the men who did the actual labor. These are immigrants who will work for very little money. In one stage of our move the truck broke down and they left their men in front of our house for 5 hours ( after hours of labor) waiting for the repair people to come. These men would have had no food ( after all that work) or access to bathroom facilities if we had not provided that for them.

The move was fairly easy and went well. It was completed within the minimum hour window. Nothing was broken or scratched.

Boxcart did the packing and moved our stuff out of our basement for a remodeling project. The stored our stuff in pod at their warehouse. When the remodeling was done they moved the items back into the basement.

Simply put?BoxCart exceeded all of my expectations. From before they arrived, to the handling of fragile items with each and every cup being individually wrapped, to loading the truck, and then unloading at the new home. Impressive, keep up the good work BoxCart. Wonderful customer service and great onsite movers.

They are fab. They are really good. They are absolutely outstanding company and their prices were extremely competitive and they felt that they would come. They bring you the boxes and some places like portable on demand storage they have a lot of charges for movement and what not. They were much more fair in price and they didn't have a lot of charges for every time that box needs to come in. They were absolutely wonderful to work with. I have used them again and like I said I have recommended them to friends. Price was 20% less than what I would have been paying in other places.

The packers showed up right on time and packed up the whole house in less than 6 hours, which is less than was estimated. They worked quickly, but carefully, and asked us questions along the way to ensure they were packing what we wanted. It was well worth the money. The move did not go quite as smoothly, but I still highly recommend them. The first problem was that the truck needed unexpected maintenance the morning of the move, so they were 2.5 hours late getting to our house. Once there, though, the movers were wonderful - very hard working, responsive, and professional. They then discovered that the truck was too small, which meant they had to make two trips. (Apparently they were not able to repair the truck they expected to use and had to use a different, smaller truck). Again, that set the move back some, but thankfully the distance between the houses was short, so the second trip wasn't too time-consuming. Upon reviewing our file and recognizing the issues, BoxCart refunded us some money, which I appreciated. All in all, I highly recommend Boxcart. Customer service is obviously important to them and their work is top-notch. I would use them again.

We didn't have a lot of stuff but still we needed the best mover we could find at a good price as we were moving out of a rental house into a townhouse half the size of the single-family we were moving out of and we have young children. We decided that on the day of the move, I would accompany the moving staff and truck to the new home whereas my wife would stay with the kids at the old home until I have got everything sorted out and ready for them to come over. With BoxCart, everything in our plan worked out perfectly. We have used 2 other movers in the past and this one is by far the best provider we have used. Very professional, very quick, nothing broken. We needed to make sure the moving left the rental house we were moving out of in tip top shape and BoxCart helped make that happen. The townhome we were moving into had 3 floors including the ground level. I've done my room/interior planning for the new home with sweethome3d dot com prior to moving in and the BoxCart staff gladly cooperated with me to ensure everything was moved to the right floor and location. They would park the truck next to the garage and as each staff brought in an item through the garage into the new home, I would instruct him which floor and/or room to put that item, and how to put it. They were very helpful and did everything I needed them to do and I was very grateful (and tip-ready!) for them. I was exhausted after a whole night of last-minute packing and our family just wouldn't have made the move in time if we hadn't used BoxCart to help us. Their 3 staff have saved me and my wife a tons of work, trouble, time and energy and the moving expense plus the generous tips I gave was one of the best monies spent during the entire moving process (the cleaning company we used for move out cleaning was the other great decision we made). Moving can be extremely stressful and tiring but BoxCart really have helped us minimize our stress and made the whole process smooth and easier. If you have young kids, you know what I'm talking about. I highly recommend BoxCart.

The initial consultation sold me on Boxcart. The man I spoke with was knowledgeable and seemed to know a lot about the moving business. He also promised that our furniture would be taken apart and reassembled by the movers, which was a huge plus. The process then moved to a coordinator named Bonnie. She was polite and answered all of our questions. Moving day: the movers were supposed to arrive between 8 and 9 am and call a half hour before arrival. Our movers called at 9:20 and arrived at around 9:30 so they weren't the most punctual. They were quick with their work and wrapped every piece of furniture meticulously. Three hours later, our apartment was empty and we were all headed to the new place. We bought them lunch and they were all very appreciative. They at on our front yard and quickly got back to work moving fast. The only real negative was that they tore up our stairs a little bit. They're wooden and when moving a large armoir, they nicked two of the stairs. At first I thought it was unavoidable but then I noticed they never took the footers off the armoir which would have made it significantly shorter and thus, it wouldn't have been as hard to move it up the stairs. They did apologize though, which was nice. Overall, a very good experience. The movers were polite and appreciative of lunch and their tip. Well deserved.

The pick-up for the storage went really well. They were quick and able to consolidate the storage items into fewer boxes than originally anticipated. On move-out day, they were solid and it went relatively well. It did take more than double the time we had been told, and this seemed in part because the truck that was sent seemed smaller than expected and so lots of time was spent organizing and re-organizing to get everything to fit. They struggled with how to move our basketball goal. On delivery, the crew was great. They reassembled most of the furniture but we found a few items afterwards that we needed to take care of. All in all, they did a solid job - it probably would have been an A had they used a bigger truck and one more crew member to help it go quicker and nothing left out at the end. The price definitely beat the competition and all in all we would choose BoxCart again if we had it to do over.

Everyone from the office staff to the workers at our house was attentive to details and easy to work with. The men who packed and unpacked the containers were careful and skillful in getting items out of and into the house and in efficiently packing goods into the storage containers. BoxCart provided exactly the service we needed.

Overall very happy with experience using BoxCart for local move. I spoke with many companies over the phone getting estimate (moving from condo so no in-person estimate necessary) and I got the best impression/feeling over the phone of BoxCart. The call back I received from the employee to discuss our potential move and their company was very professional and courtesy - a great start. Without asking they gave an Angie's List discount so paid $142/hour for a three person crew and ~24-27' truck (which was probably below the middle of the quotes I was getting). Received a courtesy call the day before our move to verify everything - this was greatly appreciated and exhibited their professionalism. Day of move received call when they were about 30 mins out and were on time. Three person crew got to work right away. They did a wonderful job wrapping our furniture (with their provided pads at no extra charge) and loading on to the truck (nothing was found to be damaged or broken). Only minor frustration was that there were some language barriers that caused some items and boxes to be placed in the wrong location during unloading, but this was reconciled as we walked through the house together at the end to verify everything was where I wanted it - which was great since my wife and I would not have been able to move some items by ourselves after they left. Very happy with our experience as BoxCart took some of the stress out of moving!!

They were wonderful from Start to finish. They provided info of Boxes to be ordered and the prices were fantastic. They followed up, they confirmed, and they showed up on time. The team, lead by Edwardo, was professional , and helpful. Would use them again!

The process of making an estimate was very smooth and the estimator was very responsive to my questions. I am looking forward to having a smooth experience during my move.

The individual that came to our house to provide us with an estimate was great. He was personable and knowledgeable about the moving industry. He made me feel comfortable with their company and secure that they would take care of our items. We received immediate notification of the date of confirmation once we signed the agreement. Unfortunately, the experience deteriorated on the day of our move. The company sent four men with one smaller truck. Immediately the men indicated a concern about whether or not our items would fit in the truck. They told us that if they needed to do two trips we would have to cover the additional expense. Given that we had purged and sold a significant amount of items from the time of our estimate, I was upset that we would have to cover any additional expense should the truck not be sufficient size. However, the team continued working. Everything seemed to be going well until I realized about three hours into the day that there were only three guys working, not four. I paid by the hour, by the man. I went to look for the fourth guy and found him sleeping in the front of the truck. I called the office immediately and was told that their shift supervisor would be notified. I was not offered an apology or my money back for the time he was not working. The items on the first floor of my home where handled with care for the most part. My dining room table is made of mosaic tile and is not only very heavy but a one of a kind piece. I mentioned this to the lead mover. He recognized they would need to be extra careful. One of the other guys, on the other hand, came up to the table and pulled it from the base to "prove" that it could come apart. The screws came right out of the top stripping the holes holding the top to the base. After that incident, my husband recommended that I watch the movers carefully. In our master bedroom, we have a sleep number bed. I had told the first person I spoke to that we had a sleep number and was assured that the movers had a lot of experience moving these types of beds. When I informed the lead guy that it was a sleep number, he indicated he did not know how to move those types of mattresses but that they would figure it out. I watched as they attempted to take it apart. My husband had to provide assistance. When they attempted to get the mattress upstairs, they tried three times (including damaging our stair way ceiling) to make it fit before taking it apart. The same thing happened with our bed frame. At our home, we did not have much better luck with unloading. It all took longer than expected and although I understand they were tired, by the end of the day they were throwing items in different rooms than where they were labeled. Additionally, I had asked them not to scream because my son was sleeping in his room by the end of the move. They continued to scream to each other on the second floor of our house. It was very frustrating. Lastly, I specifically asked if I could put away the clothing. They said - sure - so they brought me the wardrobe boxes (which by the way they did not bring enough of so we had to bring most of our hanging close in our personal cars) into our bedroom. I went to get some hangers and then realized that they had unpacked the wardrobe boxes and put things in my closet for me despite my specific wishes. Two of the guys were great and very hard working. One guy spent the entire day in the truck making sure things were packed VERY tightly so that nothing would shift. Two of the other guys, however, were very lazy and it was apparent they did not care. I was very disappointed in my experience and will never use them again.

They did an excellent job. Customer service was great, both from the sales and office personnel and the movers. They were prompt and called in advance of arriving both when they came to pack our stuff and when they returned it. The guys were extremely hard-working and very polite. We had already packed our stuff into boxes, but they dissassembled and re-assembled a bed, wrapped a couch and several desks, chairs, etc. We weren't sure if we were going to need 4 containers or 5, but they packed the containers so well that we only needed 4. They had us examine each container prior to locking, to confirm it was packed sufficiently. They brought heavy-duty wardrobe boxes for me to put my clothing in, and they covered our floors with a mat so they didn't scratch them. I really have ZERO complaints about the service we received. It was top-notch. This is the second time we've used this company to move us, and I will continue to use them in the future.

Jose and Al delivered and unloaded the truck, doing a double delivery - to my brother and the next day to me. They were short on manpower due to winterstorm related issues in Virginia. Both guys worked unceasingly like Trojans, never losing their steady stride, good humor and respect and care for our property. I cannot brag enough about Box Cart the company and Jose and Al the cousins extraordinaire. I have already recommended Box Cart to at least two other people I know are currently planning to move soon or are planning it in the near future.

BoxCart was an amazing and perfect solution for my complicated move. I didn't have exact dates or destinations for the 'destination' side of my move so Box Cart enabled me flexibility and security of my stuff. They gave me accurate quotes, very patiently explained how their storage, transfer, pick up, delivery, and pricing works and held to what they described at every turn. I have moved many times over state lines and this was by far the most professional and economical move I've ever done. Nothing was broken when it arrived in Vermont, the first ever time this has happened with one of my big house moves. My only wish is that BoxCart was more national so I could use it again if and whenever I end up leaving my current home.

Boxcarts is very easy to work with, giving you a step by step description or their process and providing no surprises / fixed pricing. All services were performed as described and payment / billing was easy and straightforward. We had bad weather for move in day and they stayed in touch with us to ensure we knew when move in would take place. Very friendly and helpful employees...so they must enjoy a good work environment. I would definitely use them again for offsite storage or moving.

Our move was from a one bedroom condo to a twonhouse. But we also had A LOT of our things stored at a third location, my parents basement. We packed everything ourselves and just needed the manpower & trucks to move it. We always like to use local, family owned companies whenever possible. Boxcart was a recommendation from my brother & his wife. We met Ernesto, David and Nelson at my parents house to pick up our stored things. They called when they were on their way and arrived about 30 minutes early. We showed them where everything was and they got to work protecting the floor and moving things into the truck. The second location was our condo, which was a third floor walk up. Lots of stairs! The guys were fast, respectful and careful with our things. And our final location was our new townhome- 4 stories! MORE STAIRS! But everything went great! We had a couple of very heavy pieces that made it up and into the house without incident. Our team were great guys who worked hard and never seemed to slow down. It rained most of the day and we were able to position the truck next to the garage. They never once complained and were always very friendly. All of our furniture was wrapped and protected before it was moved. They helped us place our area rugs and positioned our furniture where we needed it The pricing was honest and fair from the beginning. The final price was slightly higher than we anticipated but we also moved in the rain (pouring rain at times), had a lot more stairs at all 3 locations and A LOT OF STUFF we forgot we had in storage. These were all things Leon had told us would be factors in our pricing so we expected it. I would definitely use Boxcart again and will recommend them to anyone!
