I know I don't qualify for the gift card but I thought you ought to know the situation.
Description of Work: I asked for a quote from this contractor and it was nearly twice the quote I received from another contractor.....I opted to use the other contractor. I will have to find a 'minor' restoration job for this contractor in order to use 'the big deal'.

It went very well. The furniture were antique pieces and Haridi took great care to protect them. The piano bench had a needlepoint cover (which had been done by my grandmother) and he made sure to keep it covered/protected while the work was done. The coffee table was also very old. After he repaired the broken leg, he then polished the entire table. He also completed the job in less time than quoted.

I inherited a beautiful oak rocking chair with bentwood detailing which badly needed refinishing. I emailed photos to Mr. Haridi in June (or July) and he gave me an estimate of what it would cost to refinish the chair. I thought it would be too expensive, but then I found an Anglie's coupon for his company, which Mr. Haridi honored, and I decided to go ahead. (The cost of service which I quoted was after the deduction for the coupon.) I took my chair out to his workshop in early August. When I spoke with him, it became clear to me that he is a craftsman who loves what he does. He helped me to pick out a good color for the stain. When I picked up the chair this week, I was stunned at how beautiful it was. He and his associates had taken the chair apart, made a few repairs, refinished it, and put it back together. I am delighted and completely satisfied with the quality of the work they did.

I had purchased an Angie's Deal that was good for $150 worth of work, which was the estimate I received from AFR, Inc. after sending a photo. I took the chair to their Dulles shop and they said it might take 3-4 weeks. Instead, they finished within a week. They not only reglued the chair but also polished the veneer, which now looks much more attractive. There was no argument that the coupon didn't cover the work. I was highly satisfied. My only reservation iwas the travel time to get to their shop for delivery and pick-up

He did first-class work, and did it in relatively little time. It was truly fantastic! There's no way anyone could ever tell it was broken and not all the original wood. Truly great workmanship.
Description of Work: He had to connect a leg to an antique chair. The leg was missing a piece from where it broken-off the chair itself. I didn't think it would be easy to fix.

The work was fabulous. Haridi picked the chair up from my home and kept me up to date on the work progress, identifying and repairing weakness in the rockers, while we waited for the ordered fabric to arrive. Once I delivered the fabric to his shop, it took only a few more weeks for the job to be finished and the chair to be delivered. It looks like it just came from a show room! This piece is a family heirloom and I have sent pictures to family across the country - everyone is thrilled with the work.

It went very well. I sent pictures of the chair to get an estimate before taking it to their shop in Sterling. The response to the email was very quick. I took the chair to the shop for him to see, and to look at the other items that they were working on. He did not want a deposit on the work; payment at the end of the project. Once the chair had been stripped down, and the finish removed, I was invited back to make the choice of the stain for the wood. It turned out beautifully.
Description of Work: The provider refinished an old club chair that had carved wood on the arms, and wood along the sides - too intricate of job for a beginner.. It was reupholstered by an associate not on premises. The cost listed was after using their coupon for $150, and did not include the fabric, which we purchased separately. It took approximately 8-9 weeks to complete the project, I believe.

Mr. Haridi seemed to be very knowledgable and to have had extensive experience with the required restoration process for my furniture. He was pleasant and made suggestions that I appreciated. He completed the work before the date that he had originally given me but added that he does allow himself extra time in order to be able to finish on time. I would use his services again.

Even though I told him that it didn't matter the color of the additional legs, it didn't need to match, he went above and beyond to make sure that the additional leg length matched perfectly with the prior stain. You can hardly notice that there was an addition!!! Great work at a great price. We will definitely be using them again!!!! He even picked up the chair and dropped it off since I'm pregnant and can't lift anything over 5 pounds at the moment!! Wonderful service! He truly went above and beyond.

It went very well indeed. The refinished chairs are beautiful and we are quite pleased with the results. Haridi was a pleasure to deal with, friendly, accommodating and professional. We feel he was a bit more expensive than most, even including the Angie's Big Deal, but also believe that this was a clear case of getting what you paid for. Highly recommended.

When I picked up the chair, it was a totally differnt piece of furniture. The craftsmanship that Hardi pours into his work shows in the final product. I noticed that the front spindles of the chair had a different level of shine on them and he said, yes, that as he was working on the chair, he knew that they needed to be at a different level of finish. Harid is a true craftsman and his work shows it. Yes, you pay a little extra, but the results are worth it. This is not a dunk and spray finish shop. This is hands on job, done with care and excellence. Excellent Job.

Haridi and his folks did a magnificent job on these pieces. He was very helpful in explaining his process and the time line to completion, picking out the stain which is lovely, and completing the job on time. His prices are a bit high, but they are worth every penny. The furniture has been in our family since the 30's and were in need of updating. The end result is beautifully finished furniture in a lovely dark stain that shows the beauty of the wood. I have other pieces that I will have this company refinish for me now that I know the excellent work they do. I am extremely happy with the result and my family is as well. Haridi finished two other pieces for my sister--a small nightstand and a chair in the same stain--and I'm sure she will be thrilled with it.

Using our 2 $50 Angie's List coupons, Mr Haridi embodied professionalism and courtesy that you hope for when making significant purchases. Our Henredon chairs have personal meaning & Mr. Haridi proved he respects his clients things. The execution of the repair was fine work "(hollow bamboo) and the new seat configuration was perfectly rendered. We asked that the webbing be replaced with plywood "(1/4") and the cushion box shape changed to a gentle curve in front and not reinsert piping. As we get older the fewer things inhibiting blood flow is to be desired. The did add piping between the seat's frame and bottom of the cushion. I'm so glad they did that since it finishes the chair so nicely and does not cut off delicate circulatory functioning. :-) Mr. Haridi's team finished the work before deadline and he himself brought them to our home (with requested remaining material). He made sure we inspected each chair for comfort and satisfaction of the workmanship. While at our home he kindly inspected a Duncan Fife sofa with a cracked frame that also needs reupholstering and gave us a quote which we determined to be more than we feel the piece is worth for our budget. He also gave us a quote for reupholstering an antique wing chair that we feel is a reasonable fee. Now to find the fabric.
Description of Work: Repaired the bamboo frame of 1 Henredon dining chair and reshaped and reupholstered the seats of that and the other 5 chairs, with fabric we had purchased & provided to Mr Haridi.

Haridi did a wonderful job at what I thought was a very reasonably price. The table looks absolutely beautiful, both as to the wood finish and the structural work that he did. The new piece he added is indistinguishable from the original wood. He even delivered it to our home on a Saturday night for no additional charge. The table has a lot of family significance and I was nervous about turning it over to a stranger, but I am completely pleased with the outcome and now we're showing off and using a table that had been hidden away in a corner for years. I would recommend this business with no hesitation.
Description of Work: I had an antique drop-leaf table that needed to be completely stripped and refinished. One piece of the wood had broken off and needed to be reglued. I also wanted to get the table rebuilt so that it could be used more conveniently as a dining table. This meant taking off the legs and frame and reattaching the pieces in a different configuration. It also meant adding a new piece of wood.

I bought the table to Antiques and Furniture Restoration. After he heard that it was a big deal, he decided to charge extra $125 for touch ups which was pretty much not existent. I would pay for the touch ups but he charged extra because of the big deal. It wasn't bad but it sort of disappointed me. The guy was very nice and he did a decent job gluing it back together. He has done an okay job with the touch ups but not everywhere, there were some places that he didn't do the touch ups. His responsiveness was great. He knew what he was talking about in terms of the furniture.

They did a fantastic job. The desk was my late father-in-law's . It means a great deal to me, because whenever I look over at it , I can see him sitting there writing his cards and checks. I've had it in the basement for years because it had a broken drawer and was all scratched and scarred. I knew it would cost a lot to have the work done,so it just stayed there until I saw The Big Deal. I decided to do it now or never. Haridi called me the same day I purchased the deal. He came the next day and pick it up from my house. (In the meantime, I took a photo of it and sent and was given a rate quote). Haridi was running a little late and had the courtesy to call and advise me. It didn't matter because we would be home anyway. Haridi and his worker very gently carried the desk up from the basement through a very narrow stairway. He gently cover and cushioned it & placed it in his truck. The date was 6/3. Haridi told us it would take about 3 months to finish it He asked if we wanted to pick out the color for refinishing or leave it the same.? We wanted to look at the finishes, so we stopped by the shop on 6/15 and they had already started the work. Usually Haridi recommends Mahagony but i preferred Black Walnut. He wasn't sure it would look good but agreed to use it. I was pleasantly surprised to get a call on 7/6 from Haridi saying the desk was finished and would be home within the hour to deliver it. I was ecstatic. It was beautiful. The only thing was one of the glass doors would not stay shut. We had the key for it but it wouldn't work in the keyhole. Haridi went back out to his truck, got some tools, & was able to fix the lock and made the key work. The door stays shut now.. I'm very pleased with Haridi's work and wished I had something else for him.

The owner was very polite and knowledgeable. My table was finished before the estimated time frame and the work was perfect. I wouldn't hesitate to use this company again. In fact, I asked the owner if he did "house calls" as I have more furniture that is too large to bring to his shop that needs to be repaired after damage done by movers. We agreed that I would send him pictures of the damaged pieces and that we could discuss further.

We were very pleased with our experience. We received 3 estimates for refinishing and decided to go with this company because of their prompt response to our questions. They also included photos of their work. Their price included pick up and delivery. Kaleh and his partner arrived for pick up as scheduled and protected the desk with moving blankets. He notified us when the desk was ready to be stained. He invited us to the workshop in Sterling and showed us 4 different stains on the actual desk so we could see what it would look when finished. It was interesting to see the craftsmen at work. The desk was finished earlier than promised and is absolutely beautiful. It is one of the nicest pieces in our home now. Everyone at this company was knowlegeable and professional. We are planning to take some other pieces to them in the near future.
