I made the contract to have work done and the company took the money out of my account before the work was even done I complained to Angies list about this. The contractor was not timely, he did not have shoe cover so he removed his shoes and worked in his bare feet. I did not realize he was bare footed until he was almost finished. He did not complete the job in one day. He tried to reschedule on a weekend I can not have someone in my house on Saturday and Sunday. The project was never finished and I have not been able to contact them.

A few days later Haridi called to say it was finished. The finished product is great!! It is stripped and sanded, ready for me to finish the job. The quality of the work was very professional, given the amount of paint that had to be stripped and the age of the toolbox. Haridi also gave me great suggestions on making my DIY project higher quality.
Description of Work: I had a very old (1900ish) tool box that was handmade and had a lot of historical value because it was used in the mines by coal miners. Unfortunately it was painted with several coats of old oil-based house paint. I wanted to refinish it myself, but needed it stripped to begin the process. I got an accurate estimate using their online process. When I delivered it Haridi did a close inspection and we agreed on the work.

We could not be more pleased. The estimate process was smooth. Their experience and expertise are at the very top. It was a great pleasure to work with Yasser and Khaled they are most professional. From the initial contact until delivery it was obvious that the MOST important consideration for them was our satisfaction. Our expectations were met and surpassed. They maintain a wonderful positive attitude and took as much time as necessary to be sure we understood the process and o so throughout the entire experience. A huge factor in their ability to satisfy is the manner through which they kept us involved in the stain color selection and the courtesy they show even when arranging for pick up and delivery. Its hard to find anybody in any industry approaching the client/buyer the way everybody at A&FR does every day. The hall end table was a challenge inasmuch as there is intricate inlay and veneer throughout the design. If you have anything with a similar assembly you must not go anywhere other than Antiques & Furniture Restoration Inc. We are already picking furniture to bring to them for additional work.

They did a magnificent job! This is a great company. They were very sensitive to the sentimental value of the rocking chair. They went above and beyond what other providers might do to find the perfect stain, and they checked in with me regularly, showing me the stains, to make sure I liked it. I was also invited to their shop to check out the stains and their work in progress, and I was sent pictures of their work in progress. They are very professional and a pleasure to work with. The chair is gorgeous, and I can now see the wood's beautiful grain. Also, they repaired an arm that had come off and reinforced the other. To match the chair, they used wood pegs for the repairs. Before they repaired the chair, it creaked and seemed shaky; now it does not creak and feels sturdy. I give Antiques & Furniture Restoration, Inc. my highest recommendation.

I have been meaning to write this review for a few months, as the work was done in December of 2016. I am thrilled with the result of this project. Since the fabric had a large repeat, I selected images to center on for the fronts and backs of the chairs, and they followed my instructions to the letter. They used double piping and left the original paint as instructed. The chairs were also given new cushions, as they were in need of repair. They are really fun chairs for a formal living room, and everyone asks where we got them and notices the exacting nature of the upholstery work.

Outstanding. Exceptional. I will go no where else for furniture repair. I have another antique that will soon be given to him to bring back to life.
Description of Work: I highly recommend Antiques & Furniture Restoration. Yasser restored my Grandmothers Side-by-Side including replacing the curved glass that was broken more than 50 years ago. To do this, he had to do precise measurements and provide them to the person who would make the glass. It fit perfectly. My mother had "antiqued" it years ago and now it is back to its original stain. He painstakingly replaced the keyholes so we can use the key. He kept me informed through the entire process and made sure that the stain was what I wanted. I can't say enough about his work, dedication and attention to detail. This piece will stay in the family and they will enjoy it for many years to come. Thanks, Yasser

He scheduled pick up of the door promptly and the refinishing work on both products was done very quickly and professionally. The door was a mess because my painter had used a product he shouldn't have on it. It looks beautiful now. The table is certainly not as beautiful as it was before I damaged it. However, it is much better and probably the best that could be done given the damage. The price is high. The work is all hand-done. You basically have to decide whether it is worth the money to get a great job.

It was a pleasure working with Yasser and his team. I got an estimate very quickly by emailing some pictures. I also got a detailed explanation of how they would do the work and the timeframe to expect. They finished ahead of schedule which was nice. When they picked up my door, they secured the front door entryway from the inside. I didn't know how they would do this but they used a large panel. It was obvious they had done it many times before. They called us to come in and pick a color for the door and piano. They really do bring everything to its original shape and start over. It was super neat to see everything down to the bare wood. We enjoyed this experience much more than we thought we would. When everything was finished, everything looked fantastic. You can really feel Yasser's passion for what he does and it shows throughout his work.

I appreciated an honest appraisal since I could have easily been convinced to have expensive work done on my chair. He said that the original caning used stronger and longer lasting materials than are used today. Preserving the original caning would be best.

My wife and I contacted Yasser at his office in Sterling, Virginia shortly before Christmas, 2015. We had a large cherry dresser and an old cedar chest (that at some point in its history had been painted with a green oil based paint) that needed to be refinished. Both pieces had been in my wife's family for many years and had the wear and tear to prove it. The dresser had heavy scratches, a couple of dark water stains, and at least one cigarette burn on the top. The front key hole insert was badly damaged, with several decorative wooden moldings on either side of the keyhole were broken by years of hard use. Several weeks after picking up the furniture from our house, Yasser invited us to his workshop. He wanted us to see the dresser and the top of the cedar chest after the original finish on both had been removed and careful sanding had been completed. At that time, we selected the finish we wanted for both pieces and were shown options for repairing the damage done to the dresser. Yasser carefully explained each step of the proposed restoration process, We were impressed by his passion for the work, and his concern for complete satisfaction with the results. We eagerly waited for his phone call several weeks later that the pieces were ready for our inspection. Back to the workshop we went, not sure exactly how things would turn out. When we entered the store, there in front of us was the finished dresser. It was stunning! The finish was a beautiful dark walnut, with no evidence of the water stains! The cigarette burn was almost completely gone and the keyhole had been expertly reset. The broken moldings looked almost new. We looked around to find the cedar chest and couldn't immediately locate it. It was then that Yasser appeared and pointed to a gorgeous walnut piece behind us. It was the cedar chest, and it was absolutely beautiful. No sign of the green paint remained. He had completely taken it apart and meticulously removed the old paint from every inch of the piece. Yasser delivered both units to our home that evening and carefully placed them in their original locations. He and his assistant spent about an hour attaching the mirror to the dresser and making sure we were happy with the finished work. Words can't describe how happy we are with the results. Antiques & Furniture Restorations is a first class operation, with a small, dedicated staff that cares deeply about their customer's satisfaction. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a team that really understands their craft and strives for excellent results!
Description of Work: Yasser Haridi and his staff at Antiques & Furniture Restorations, Inc. refurbished a large chest of drawers (with mirror) and cedar chest. The cost included pickup and delivery to our home in Warrenton, Virginia. The cedar chest was particularly difficult to restore, as the cherry wood had been painted years ago with a green oil based paint. Both pieces were stripped of their original finish, stained and sealed.

The care and craftsmanship is bar none. Yasser and his craftsmen are problem solvers. They figure out how to disassemble delicate pieces, sand, stain, and reassemble to perfection. Two pieces - the vanity and the couch, are pieces that my parents bought in 1940. Not only do they look magnificent, they are sturdier than before, and without ruining the integrity of the pieces. What is exciting is seeing how energized and excited Yasser is with the finished product. Everyone takes pride in their work! It's phenomenal. I will recommend them to anyone, big jobs and small.

I have a wooden desk from the late 50' early 1960's. It was an old government office work desk. Not an executive ornate just nice office desk. I trying to refinish it I did not know what I was doing and screwed it up sanding off the teak wood veneer. Antiques & Furniture Restoration initially were not promising to be able to restore it to original condition. I understood this and explained i just wanted to match as close as possible so I didn't have to explain it to everyone who asked about the door how it got to be the way it was. Yusfi was able to take a close grained cheer veneer and color matched it such that unless you get up and are looking for it you don't notice it. It looks great and I am very Happy with it. (See Pictures)

I had a Gunlocke Executive leather officer chair that the base had a piece missing in the wood and broken screws and cracked base piece that connected the wheel base to the chair. I provided replacement pieces that bought off of ebay and and Yasser was able to return the chair to good working order and polished it up. I have held on to that chair in the hopes of getting it restored on day. I am very happy with the way it turned out. (See pictures)

I purchased fabric and took my footstool with broken legs to be restored. They did an incredible job, I needed to pay more over the big-deal price for the completed work, but the footstool was transformed from a 100 year old torn and tattered piece--to a high end piece of furniture that will last another 100 years!! I was so happy to have a piece of my family history restored.

It was fine. He talked me into refinishing, which of course, was much more expensive. It was nice. He did a good job. But, he tried to tell me that this was the right thing to do for these kinds of chairs. The more I looked at it and thought about it, for an old kitchen chair like this, that wasn't the right thing. It's not particularly valuable wood. Either he didn't know what he was talking about or he was trying to make a sale. He charged quite a bit more than the big deal price. It was $300 per chair and these are probably $20 wood chairs.
