I called and spoke with Nils to tell him that I was not happy that they sealed my driveway. He said I got a "free sealing so why are you complaining?" He called me irrational and kept saying "I don't know what your problem is" when I calmly and repeatedly told him that I wanted the sealant removed. I told him that it's my driveway and I get to chose the sealant that goes on it, but I wasn't provided that opportunity when they decided to seal it with their product. After seeing that this was going nowhere, I told him not to call me back. He called me back THREE TIMES. This is HARASSMENT. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY OR THEIR CHEAP, WATER-BASED SEALANT FOR A NEW ASPHALT DRIVEWAY.

We have used Academy Sealers for several years now. Always perform the service requested as promised. No problems and work is good.

Very pleasant experience. Got an unsolicited estimate in mail. A little more than it usually costs me for the material. Gave them a call and set up appt. no one had to be home. Job was done extremely well. No grass damage. I highly recommend

Academy Sealers did a superb job sealing my driveway. I very much liked the way they kept on top of the weather and notified me accordingly if a reschedule was necessary due to rain in the forecast. I would rather wait and have a perfectly cured (dry) driveway than one damaged by rain. I would call on Academy Sealers again in the future.

The job exceeded my expectations. I called them after receiving a postcard in the mail that listed the price. My call was received very professionally and we scheduled a date two weeks in the future. On the date of application they arrived as scheduled and applied a thick layer of sealant, taking great care around the edges. I was most pleased to see the care that was taken along the edge of my stone walkways - not a speck of tar was on them! Thank you 😊

This company was very responsive. After sealing the driveway, we were concerned about a few areas. We emailed them pictures. A manager came out, looked over the work that had been done and offered to seal it again at no cost. Academy Sealers did a very good job. We will definitely use them again.

It was quick and easy and my driveway looks great! My only slight complaint was they didn't remove the moss that was growing on one side of my driveway. Overall, great work, quick service and I'll be using them again in the future. Note: I should have asked ahead of time if they would take the time to clean the moss off before sealing it. I didn't.

Originally scheduled for 9/6 but due to [ending rainstorm they texted me om 9/5 and told me they would not seal my driveway on 9/6 and would reschedule to 9/8 between 1:30 and 4:30 PM. They showed up at 3:30 PM. 2 workers and both spoke English. Did an amazing job. My driveway is 15 years old so I have it sealed almost every year and Academy has been handling my driveway for many years, You will not go wrong with them,

Academy Sealers were prompt to schedule an appointment, did a high quality job in preparation, application, and cleanup. Staff was friendly and courteous. Will hire them again when services need to be performed.

Academy Sealers were great. Their phone customer service was very responsive and explained the process thoroughly. The 2 technicians who came out to do the sealing was on time, friendly and did a really nice job on the sealing. They filled in the cracks nicely and the sealing was very even. I would definitely recommend them and will use them again.

Good job for large driveway. They filled cracks both large and small first and did even layer of sealcoat. No negotiation, used price from mailed flyer.

Workers arrived in the expected timeframe. They were courteous and answered our questions. The sealing was quick and thorough. The workers were able to limit the amount of sealant that was on the grass at the sides of the driveway. Some oil stains that they had pretreated were not noticeable when sealing was completed. The driveway looks great. Pricing was in line with other companies we had looked at, and actually we received a 10% discount since another neighbor had their driveway done on the same day. We had a great experience and would definitely use Academy again.

The work was done well for a great price. They stayed in touch via text message when they had to postpone for three days during a rainy week. You don't have to be home when they do the work. They did the work much quicker than I would do it myself.

Arrived on time. Prepped/pre-cleaned the Driveway. Applied a great, professional looking asphalt coating in less than 30 minutes. Created no messes. Excellent work!! 2nd time we've used them and will do so again, whenever needed. Highly recommend them for the type of work they perform!!

They sealed my driveway twice. It looked great initially, but both times after freezing weather all the coating flaked off.

I thought everything was going to be fine. They ended up getting something white all over my blacktop. I called them about it and they sent somebody out to try and get it off and he couldn't get it off. It looks like melted concrete streaks on the blacktop.

We recently relocated to Virginia from Florida (where our driveway was pavers/concrete not asphalt), so we were told by a neighbor that we needed to regularly seal our driveway. Unfortunately, we were also mis-advised by the same neighbor that Academy Sealers was the "only game in town". There are actually quite a few companies that offer asphalt sealing, I would strongly suggest you seek any of those out rather than using Academy Sealers. I contacted Academy Sealers for a driveway sealing quote via the email from on their website. The quickly sent someone out for a quote (which was $90 since my driveway has relatively no issues -- no cracks, stains, etc.). Academy Sealers set the scheduling date for 10/18/2016. My driveway faces west with only minor (maybe 3-5%) shading up by the garage doors. Otherwise, it has full afternoon sun, which is the heat of the day, and the temperatures were in the mid to high 80's. When the crew finally arrived after 1:00pm, I watched them apply the sealant. They basically dumped a very thin substance that looked like watered down ashes. I knew then that there was no way this was going to dry black, and definitely not shiny. On their website, they have photos of deep, dark, shiny black driveways as an example of their work. It was a very sloppy job, and I am completely unimpressed with the material they used. Some edges of the driveway have no sealant and others have sealant overflowing into the grass. They left the sealant pooled in several areas of the driveway (I uploaded photos), so there was maybe 1/2" of sealant, which never dried, even after 5 days. Then it rained, and because these areas still were not dry and the sealant is so thin, the sealant in those areas washed away in the rain, leaving our driveway looking blotchy, and pitted. I immediately contacted Academy Sealers via email. The person who contacted me back (Nils Warga who lists his title as "Manager") was initially very courteous, and agreed to come out and look at the driveway and then address the situation further. After viewing my driveway, Mr. Warga sent an email admitting that it was a problem, admitting that it looked bad, stated that they stand behind their work and product, and they would reseal the driveway for free. Admittedly it's a generous and appropriate resolution, but this initial courtesy quickly vanished when I complained about the part where he also stated that they would not reseal it until the Spring of 2017. I told him that he needs to refund my money then, because I already paid him in full to correctly seal my driveway, they did not do that, it looks horrible, and now they're telling me that it's going to look that way for at least six months, all while they still keep my $90. Mr. Warga immediately turned very defensive, blaming the horrible results on everything except his team and the materials -- the weather, The Weather Channel, the season, the direction my driveway faces, even me requesting the job when I did. I didn't make the appointment -- he did. And if it wasn't good enough weather or a warm enough time of the year (season), then he should have never scheduled the driveway to be sealed. Mr. Warga then quickly turned from defensive to flat out rude, including claiming I was "ranting", that I was "extremely irrational", "angry", that I "greatly misinterpreted" the photos on their website, that I need to "take a deep breath and calm down", and ultimately saying that I (his customer) "have one of the poorest sense of the situations (he has) ever seen." So this is the "customer support" you can expect if something goes wrong with Academy Sealers sealing your driveway. I really do not understand how I could have "greatly misinterpreted" the photos on their website. The photos on their website clearly depict shiny, dark black driveways, and no where on their website does it say that these photos are of wet driveways. It's simply blatant, unethical, false advertising. Mr. Warga will explain to you that ALL driveway sealants dry flat black (his is actually dull gray, but whatever...). Most of my neighbors (wisely) use a competitor, H&H Paving, for sealing their driveways. Even once their driveways are completely dry, they are shiny, dark black -- basically identical to the photos depicted on the Academy Sealers website. H&H Paving can do it, but apparently (even despite their advertising with photos) Academy Sealers cannot. Finally, only after threatening to turn the matter over to my son, who is an Assistant State Attorney, Mr. Warga agreed to refund my money, but he will not fix my driveway now or ever. Horrible work and horrible customer service. I strongly recommend using anyone else or even doing it yourself rather than hiring Academy Sealers.

1.0 star rating 10/11/2016 Don't get sucked in by Academy Sealers' mass marketing ads. While they are cheap - you get what you pay for and LESS! Workers simply blew the leaves off the driveway and sealed over algae even though I pointed it out to them. Response, "It won't grow back." NOT TRUE - a week later, the algae was there. The workers fixed small broken areas by picking at the loose pieces and making a bigger broken area. When the supervisor was contacted (Brandon) he said he would send an inspector (Nils) to check it out. NEVER HAPPENED even though we called asking for a follow up. Conclusion: NO quality assurance - NO management oversight - NO follow up - NO customer service - NO competence - as the song goes, they just "TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN..." Read and heed the negative comments on Academy - they are your final warning!!!

The price beat the competition, they arrived as scheduled and went above and beyond what I have experienced in the past with other companies. They used SealMaster brand rubberized sealer filler and first filled all cracks and low areas (at no extra charge). Then they hand applied a heavy coating of sealer material. All was done neatly and completely. I highly recommend them.

I called them and got a fast response - they looked at my house I assume from Google earth and gave me a quote of $115. I measured the driveway and have almost 1000 sq. feet. Sounded reasonable. They were able to come out in 2 days and since you don't have to be home when they are there it worked perfect. I was very pleased with the result. It is a heavier coat than some companies use and it covered over many of the rough spots I had from my efforts to fill in the sunken spots. Several of my neighbors used them as well and are also quite satisfied
