Academy Sealers

They are not experts in driveway sealing, they are expert in cheating. Recently, I was attracted to a flyer stating that Academy Sealers would do my driveway sealing for $244, which includes " treating most large cracks." They did not even treat the small crack. This was a lousy job that took only 20 minutes. Customers should avoid this company. I will not even give them a single star.

Received their latest estimarte and its $113 higher than their competition. Used them a couple of years ago and they didn't do a good job so I can't believe they think they are worth the extra money.

They have difficulty of the service I requested

They definitely quoted $89 on the phone and confirmed twice. Even wrote down $89. Then he says no, bait and switch. Now it’s $98 after work was done. Says one number and charges another.

Academy did a fantastic job. The quote and work were done promptly and the driveway now looks basically new again. Highly recommend Nils and crew and will use them again in a couple years!

The quality of their work for repaving or overpayment is poor. There were area where water was ponding and they refused to correct it. After lot of email, their response was after six months applying sealer will improve it which did not. They have poor response to your concerns. Very impolite, not humble and pointing blame on customer. Very rude emails responses. Makes you feel stupid for sending email. We have disintegrated spots on drive way which was replaced six months ago. They told me that I should be turning on driveway or have heavy vehicles. I explained that I do not allow any heavy trucks. It is not possible to have me stop people or myself from turning since you have to reverse coming out of garage or visitor have to turn to get out. They came today to fix problem areas with sealer. They did not inform me when they were here or left. Did not blocked off the area for traffic after repair. Did not blow off debris in the repair areas and leaving debris before applying the sealer. The responsible person Brandon acts like only God given gifted person that knows everything. They do sealer work in the neighborhood. Our HOA responsible person was hesitant when we contacted them for repaving since that did not have experience in repaving. We did find out that their quality of work was poor and very poor response to your concerns to make you feel worst than problem. I will not recommend them for any driveway work.

Academy Sealers was supposed to seal a driveway on 6/2 and I waited until 4.30 PM and called them to verify if anything has changed only to be told that my appointment is rescheduled to 16th without telling me. They told me they will check with their crew and see if they can complete the job, so after 30 mins they messaged me saying that the crew is on the way to seal my driveway. As said they came around 5 and they just completed it in a hurry, no blowing the dirt, and did not fill the cracks completely. While leaving they even messed up my lawn with sealant marks by walking on it. This is unsatisfactory service because I indicated them of the cracks but they did not do anything. Never hiring them again.

The job was completed yesterday and the driveway looks very good.

I am a repeat customer. I have lived in the area for 20 years and have found Academy Sealers to be one of the best services. They do a high quality, detailed job for a competitive price. They show up as scheduled and take care to cleanly apply a good coating. I’ve seen the mess some other companies can leave at other houses in the neighborhood. I rely on these guys to do the job right without problems and they have not let me down. Highly recommend them,

They work very quickly; two workers arrived on schedule and did our 4000 sq. ft. driveway in about 30 minutes. A pretty thick coat of sealer was provided. The material used has a pungent tar odor that is strong for a few days, and takes a week or more to totally dissipate. If they had taken another 10 minutes to do the job right, rather than just fast, it would have been an A instead of a B. A few places were missed along the sides of the drive. I sealed all but one crack before they came, but contrary to their advertisement of what's included they did not seal the crack I missed. They did not pre-treat the bad oil stains, while their advertisement led me to believe that was included. Those stains came back through the sealer. There are a few places where they got material on the stones and bricks lining our driveway. Their price was in the middle of quotes we got. I listed these few issues when I paid the invoice.

we were away when driveway was sealed. Came home the yellow tape was intact but there were tire marks embedded in the driveway. Looked like they backed their trailer over it prior to putting the tape on. The driveway was also very streaky. They came out the next week to re seal and correct the problem, however the tire marks remain

They did a great job. I like the way they did our driveway.

I really appreciate their customer relations. The first time the work really was not great. I sent in some photos and after several courteous emails they said they would do it again for no charge. The second time they really did an outstanding job. If I recall this is the fourth time Academy has done my driveway and there will be a fifth!

We got quotes from academy and collegiate sealers. We have used collegiate before and they are good but wanted to check prices. Once done academy billed us nearly twice the price quoted and more than collegiate quoted. Academy was also sloppy and got tar on house and walkway. Told us it would wear off. Wouldn’t let these bozos near my house again. Use collegiate sealers.

The resealing looked ok initially, but whatever they treated the cracks with caused a white powder to appear after the first rain. The company came back to cover the problem, but the material they used was a brownish gray, way lighter than the driveway. They said it would fade and match with time, but as photos taken a couple months later show, it hasn't. We asked for a 25% discount so we could buy something to fix it, but they just say they have disclaimers on the estimate that cover color difference. (The disclaimer says color will be darker; ours are glaringly lighter.) Our driveway looks much worse than it did before they resealed it.

Two man team completed an excellent job in about 25 minutes.

Estimate was provided promptly, the work was scheduled and then quickly rescheduled due to weather. They did an excellent job, were very professional, and the price was very reasonable. I will continue to use them in the future.

The bad--when I asked to have my driveway sealed, I also asked if the company repaired driveway cracks--they responded yes. Upon completion of the job, I noticed the crack repair failed within the day. The team came back a few days later and repaired the crack, but also "repaired" several other areas leaving my driveway looking like my kids painted black stripes all over it. Management agreed to recoat my driveway for free, which was done a few days later. However, they also spilled sealant on my concrete apron leaving a big black area. Management agreed to have the stain power-washed, which was done and the area is now clean. The good--the management team was very responsive to my requests. I typically had a response the same day when I sent an email over. They did not challenge the problems and readily agreed to remedy the issues without cost to me. In the end, it appears the crews just need a bit more training on quality control. I know this probably a low paid job, but having a simple driveway sealed took a few weeks from start to finish.

My driveway is 325ft long and 15ft wide, with an additional parking area. We had our driveway replace and widened about 4 years ago... It was still in good condition, but it was due for sealing. It was never done before. I was going to do it myself, until pricing the material at BIG Name Home improvement stores. All of the sealers have OK reviews at best. Most have 3.5-star reviews and range from $19 to a high of $35. Since it was the 1st application the manufactures recommended 2 coats--- for a total of 28 buckets of it. So my costs would be $532 if I went with the cheapest--or $980 for the best. After talking to a bunch of friends who did it ONCE and hired people every time after that--- I figured I'd learn from their mistakes and regrets. Academy Sealers use a commercial grade sealer called Sealmaster that had good reviews. They charged less than what the materials would have cost me if I bought them myself and did the job myself. They scheduled it fast-- Next Day, Were on time and were done in about 1 hour. They HAND apply it and 2 guys used squeegees to apply. NOT SPRAYED. I was warned about spraying being too thin. I can't ask for more...

Excellent. I was away for three weeks and arranged for the work while gone. It was April and rainy and they had to postpone twice due to weather but advised by text of the delays. When I returned I found the work properly done and the invoice in my door. Very satisfied.

The work was outstanding. Done quickly and professionally at a very reasonable price. Would definitely hire them again.

I was surprised to learn that Academy Sealers also cleans gutters, but they did a good job sealing my driveway so I gave them a call. They did a great job.

They did a decent job at a reasonable price. They splashed a small bit of asphalt on a wooden edge, and I had hoped they'd seal the cracks a little better, but all in all, I good job and I will use them again.

It went well but the asphalt sealant seems to be of low quality.
