received post card in the mail with $99 quote. Called and scheduled for following week. Left invoice in door mailed them a check.

We got a 10% discount since we coordinated with some neighbors. They came on the day they said they would (the weather was clear) and performed what they said they would. I had a question on the invoice they left (we had already left a check for the crew, as they wanted, so they wouldn't track sealer unnecessarily in the yard or house). They had written an amount above what had been quoted, but when I called they said they had just written down the wrong amount and that the check we had written was the correct amount.

They showed up on time. Two of their guys worked efficiently to clean the driveway, then apply one coat of asphalt. They left the invoice on the front door, but we paid at that time since we were home. Some cracks still remain but that was expected for this kind of work. The driveway looks great. I would definitely use them in the future.

I remember setting up an appointment for service for June 5, 2013 June 5: I called the office to confirm the appointment and someone told me that they will be coming between 11am and 2pm. I informed the staff that I left the check in the front door. At around 4pm, my wife called and informed me that no one has showed up. I arrived at home in the evening and found out that the service provider was a "no show"! I was extremely disappointed. I didn't even get a courtesy call that they will not be able to do it that day. June 12: I was surprised to get a call in my office that they are in my driveway to do the service. I was totally caught by surprise since I did not exect them anymore. In any case, I agreed and they did seal my driveway. The Good: I think they did a good job of sealing the driveway and patching up cracks where weeds used to grow. Overall, I'm happy with the work itself. Parts of the lawn were stained with the black sealant but I'm sure they will disappear on my next mowing. The Bad: Very poor communications by the sales, customer service, or scheduling staff. No reminder or confirmation at all before the service or a follow-up call after the service.

I spoke with a friendly man who set me up with a date to reseal my driveway. It was easy as giving him my street address. He gave me a quote (which was the same as listed on the postcard sent via the mail). I got a call the next day stating there had been a cancellation and would I be interested in getting the service done the next day. This was a pleasant surprise! The tricky bit that we did not really understand was our check could have been handed to the worker before the job was done. That is a little counter-intuitive but it would have saved us the trouble of having to mail the payment. The workers do not come back to the door to say they are done - I read later that they do not want to stain your sidewalk, etc with the sealer. I appreciate this but wonder if there is a better way to do this. I do not like to pay someone before they do a job but I also didn't like not knowing they had finished and left - consequently, I had to mail the check. A small thing, to be sure, but I would have preferred to hand it to the worker =)

Service was good, they came promptly at correct time. They put the material on by hand, not spray. They obviously knew what they were doing, did not take very long. Again, we asked about a larger crack in our driveway and they told us that it was something that would have to be redone entirely along with the driveway, not just a resurface. We had pointed out small defects along the way and they fixed those carefully by hand.

They used a coal emulsion sealer (much better than a petroleum sealer). They were quick and very neat with the application. The price was good and the quality of their work was excellent. I will have them seal my driveway again in a years time.

They are VERY nice to deal with - very courteous and responsive. They came out when they said they would and sealed the driveway. Unfortunately, I was not satisfied with the work that was done. The driveway looked very bad. There were lots of streaks and you could see it from the street it didn't look very good. I called and spoke to them and said I wasn't satisfied. They offered to come out the next week when they were back in the area. I was out of town when they were supposed to come back, but I told my cousin, who was staying at my house, that they were supposed to reseal the driveway. She said they didn't show up. I thought this was odd given how nice they had been on the phone previously. So I called again and asked if they could schedule another time to return. The guy I spoke to seemed pretty certain that they had already come to my house, but very kindly offered to put me back on the schedule. Long story short - they did come back when they were scheduled the second time, but they sealed my neighbor's driveway instead of mine. My neighbors had no idea who or why their driveway had been sealed. We got a pretty good laugh about it when I called them and we finally figured it out. I gave them a "B" because they are nice people to deal with. They stood by their product and when I was unhappy, they offered to make it right. The driveway does look better after the 2nd treatment.

I was a first time home buyer in 2011. With limited experience, my friend showed me that the gutter of my house was full, and need to be cleaned. My friend who lived in Ashburn, VA (and I lived in the Chantilly, VA area) recommended me Academy Sealers. With no clue, I contacted them, inquired of the price, and set up a schedule service. On the date of the service, I was quite amazed with the job because the following: a. The team came on time! b. They cleaned the gutter in detail. c. They removed the debries, and cleaned the property. d. Due to great team work, the work was completed promptly. e. The price is reasonable, since my house is a 2 story house. f. The team was polite Hence, I am actually planning to call them again this year, and request for the same service. Good job, Academy Sealers!

Work was performed while I was on vacation and met my expectations.

Nice job, prompt, did not do anything for major cracks.

My only disappointment was the quality of both the sealing material and the special sealer. When the driveway dried, the sealer showed through and small, as well as, larger cracks were apparent. I have lived in this location for over 30 years and both applied sealers myself and had professional installers and none allowed the cracks to show through. Called the company and they told me this was a defect in the driveway, not their materials.

Academy Sealers were timely and came when they said they were. They were out of there, they didn't make a mess and they did a good job.

They did a good job. We tried to all get together as a street because the more houses we had the bigger of a discount they offered.

Their prices were good. My overall experience with them was excellent.

This was the first time doing a project like this. Nils was very responsive to all my questions regarding the project and his price beat out the competition (received 3 other quotes and some companies didn't respond at all). The driveway looks like new. Their work definitely exceeded my expectations!! Look forward to working with Academy Sealers again on my next driveway project.

Work looked good -- better than other companies who have sealed the driveway. They treated the cracks. However, I called them in advance and said I had many cracks and thought the driveway might need more than simple sealing. They assured me they would do a good job. They did, but it would have been better someone from their company and I had looked at the driveway. What it really needs is top sealing rather than just sealing. So, I feel like I wasted $99, not exactly through the fault of Academy Sealers but perhaps sealing is all they do, rather than somewhat more major work.

I called Academy and they promptly sent someone to do an estimate and then left it in my mailbox.The estimate included a note which recommended that I edge the grass along the driveway to get a better result. They said if I wasn't able to do the edging that they would do the best they could to get the sealer under the grass. I thought they made a very good suggestion and it made me feel like they didn't just want to come out to the house, slap some sealer down, and then leave ie that they actually wanted the best result possible. They also said that they don't spray the sealer, but they apply it with a squeegee which sounded like a better method.They said they could schedule on any Wednesday which is when they do work in my area. The guy I spoke to on the phone was very professional. When they left, they drove 2 small stakes into the grass on each side of the driveway and strung a warning tape from stake to stake so no one would pull in the driveway while the sealer was wet. I thought that was a nice touch; I would have had to scrounge around for something to block off the driveway. The driveway looks beautiful now. It is hard to find companies that return your call promptly, that do estimates in a timely manner, and that actually show up to do the work. I was thrilled with Academy Sealers. I had gotten an estimate from the company who had done the paving a year before which was less, but I don't know what method they were using so I am not sure if the estimate really compared apples to apples.

They did a great job. They came on time, they finished the job, and they left the place in good condition. I was very happy and I would certainly use them again. They were courteous on the phone, they told me to leave a check, and they would take care of everything while I was at work. When I came home it was all done, the place was clean, and they delivered what they promised.

They did come out and they sealed my driveway, which was acceptable, but I did have to call them back because the driveway has a concrete apron and they left some footprints from the job on my sidewalk and over-painted the asphalt over a paver-brick walkway. They did come out and clean it up eventually. When they first came to do the job, they did not call before they arrived, they just came and did the job, which in this case was fine, but it could have been problematic had I not been prepared already. Overall they did a good job, but there were a few things that could have been better.

They were professional and they did a great job. The price was right. We would use them again.

We do that about every year with the same people. It's just a basic thing and it takes them about no more than twenty minutes to half an hour to do it. They are great and we've used them about three or four times now. They have mailings that they send out and they are very responsive. What they'll do is they'll generally schedule and they have several people in the area that they try to group together. However on the last time we called them and they came out right away. They are very responsive and they are just very simple. You don't have to go to a store and buy all the big five gallon cans of stuff, all the brooms and everything. I believe it's just one fellow who's doing it since he was in college and he is still doing it after he graduated. It's just sort of a nitch thing that he's right into in the area and I believe he grew up not more than about two blocks from here. He although doesn't live there now but his parents do. I can't imagine him being better. $65 for that is probably a little bit less than you pay for where ever you go. I'm calling him this September.
