Description of Work: I used the company to clean and inspect three fireplaces. Fortunately, they were already fairly clean and he reassured me that the fireplaces were extremely well built. When he inspected from the top, he showed me pictures of cracked tiles at the top of the fireplace, which can be fire hazards. He also pointed out that one fireplace did not have a cap at all. I will not be burning wood until the repairs are done on February 23rd. There was no hard sell and I appreciated that he took the pictures to show me exactly what the issues were. I will definitely use this company again. |

Description of Work: The technician arrived early (he called first to get permission to come early). He cleaned the chimney inspected the wood stove, stove pipe, chimney, and cap. Found out our thermometer was wore out and giving false temperatures inside the stove. Explained how we could better utilize our stove and cut down on the creosote formation. The price to clean the chimney was $98.00. The other $28 was for a new stove thermometer. I could've bought one from one of the hardware stores but when he told me that his about $5.00 more, I figured I'd burn more than that in gas going to get one and coming home. All in all, very satisfied with the service.

Description of Work: Chimney inspection. It was a horrible experience. Lots of detail that I don't care to go over - bottom line, among many many complaints I have with the company, I have a copy of the inspection that states my liner is satisfactory, my installation and thimble were satisfactory - but I brought in another company that took pictures showing several cracks in the liner, thus condemning the chimney, as well as evidence of a prior chimney fire - the thimble had a hole in it and was venting directly into the walls of the masonry of the house (there was NO insulation in the installation). I was told by the Chimney Sweep that I had a safe chimney I could hook a wood stove up to - what I had was a house fire waiting to happen. Oh, and to add insult to injury, one of the other complaints was that when the tech came out, I felt that he had separated some caulking from around the chimney - the owner responded to that and sent a tech to recaulk "free of charge" - he only did the visible part from the ground - I sent my handyman (also from Angie's list) up there and he found no new caulk - so HE caulked it - and then went into my attic and found that in fact, a leak had developed. After we discovered that the caulking "fix" was no fix at all, and the thimble was not in fact satisfactory, I was in contact with the owner and even though he offered to come out and do some repair work himself - given the poor poor level of work that we had TWICE from his company, I decided not to allow him to set foot on our property again.

The Chimney Sweep guy showed up on time, cleaned the chimney and found some cracks in the fireplace. The owner was showed the cracks, was given a quote to fix, the owner agreed with the quote and was very happy with the end result. Overall, the owner was very happy with the service and quality of professionalism displayed.

Description of Work: They cleaned our gutters. First of all, we had them come out to do a dryer duct cleaning and when they got in there they realized it wasn't a straight line and couldn't clean it. They told us up front they couldn't do it and didn't charge us for it. When they tried to clean the gutters, some of them were blocked with ice. They said they couldn't clean it and they wouldn't charge us for it. They put us on their follow-up list to go out when the weather gets warm to come back and clean the gutters.
