In truth, I have worked with TJ, my home inspector in the past, for other clients; This was my first time using him for my own home purchase. I would not have chosen anyone else. Fred was a great home inspector. We are first time homebuyers and he took the extra time and effort to explain features of the home in detail, and provided us with extra help and guidance to help us feel comfortable with our new home. The home inspection went great! With me being a first-time buyer, I wasn't exactly sure what to expect with the home inspection. I've seen numerous inspection reports, but I've never participated in one. Paul was responsive and answered all my questions (even the dumb ones!) He explained everything that he did and took the time to make sure everything was clear to me. I also liked that once the inspection was over, I received the report that same day! Very professional company - I will definitely use them in the future.

Fred Reid with Accurate Home Inspections will stand by his work and his word without fail. The below transaction is the most impressive interaction I’ve had with a service company in my life and Fred handled what was a minor issue which he did NOT have to accept responsibility for with the utmost integrity and professionalism. As background, Fred inspected my Fredericksburg, VA home in March of 2017 and we found a clean inspection. I’ve already written a review on him in 2017 applauding his timeliness, professionalism, and assistance explaining different aspects of the home. Fast forward two years and I listed my house in February 2019 and the buyer’s inspector found a minor crawlspace issue that was suspected of not complying with structural code. As expected, the buyer’s purchase of my home was now contingent on fixing this item. I sent a copy of the report to Fred Reid and called him to discuss the way forward as this was not reported on the inspection he completed in 2017. He was extremely professional, approachable, and humble about it, stating that he was not certain whether or not this was a code issue and if it was code at the time the house was built in 1992 and it was missed, he would refund me the cost of the inspection which covered the $400 repair. He recommended we utilize the Spotsylvania County Structural Engineer for Code Compliance to determine if the issue was out of code and even offered to do the legwork getting the POC info. Ultimately, it was determined the issue did not comply with code at the time the house was built (by a matter of inches) and needed to be repaired. Without hesitation, Fred upheld his end of the deal and refunded me the cost of the inspection which coincided with the cost of repairs. I was extremely frustrated when this issue first presented and had a completely different review prepared to post. However, the way in which Fred handled this only reinforced that I would stand by AHI and use/refer them for future transactions again and again.

Fred was very informative on the workings of the house we are looking to buy and gave wonderful advice. He was very professional and efficient, I will definitely hire him again!

Wonderful. Fred is very kind, funny and professional. We used him for a summary home inspection for a house that was built in 1700s, as he is one of the few specialists in the area. He arrived early and did a quick home tour before I even arrived. The house had a lot (too much) of problems and he didn't want me to have to pay for a full inspection if I decided to stop the buying process, which we did. He gave me a fair price for his knowledge and time and completed a report in no time.

That was the best home inspection I’ve been through. TJ arrived early, and started the external inspection without me. He was more than willing to go over everything, he had already inspected without me, when I arrived. At my request, he only went over the highlights of the outside of the home. He took ample time to inspect everything, and ensured I understood what he was doing as he was inspecting the house. He also explained how I can repair everything that he noted in his report. I could not be more impressed how thorough he was and with his knowledge, patience, ability to teach. I would recommend him to anyone!

The inspector was impressive with many years experience. He offered many explanations even unsolicited. Gave helpful instructions for systems not required for his duties. Inspected out buildings even not required by agreement. Offered professional advice for future projects and even measured the floors for potential installation. I would strongly recommend this company because they obviously value professionalism and have your best interests every step of the way.

Everything went very well. T.J. was VERY THOROUGH. I really appreciated how he took the time to go through every nook and cranny of the house. He clicked on all the switches, pushed all buttons, checked every outlet. I was impressed with how patient he was to get through inspection. He answered whatever questions I had and made suggestions to those questions. I would absolutely use and recommend Accurate Home Inspection:)

After living in the house for 3 years, I now know that I just paid for a rubber stamp. I've had to replace the main circuit breaker panel in spite of being told I had "modern electric" and that system was the highlight of the house. I had to replace the central air that was over 20 years old, not the 6-10 estimated. I found termite damage in the garage, where I specifically asked for extra attention. Was also told sump wells in backyard were likely for a fountain. They were for sump pumps, which were in the wells at the time of the inspection. Would not recommend this inspector.

Inspector was there on time (actually early). Inspection was very thorough. He found minor things that I wouldn't have even thought to look for.

Very well. Taylor was a professional and very knowledgeable. He poked and prodded everywhere and found issues that I had not even considered. He was fair and explained things in depth. His report was all-encompassing and detailed and allowed me to make a good decision regarding the property. I'm grateful he was involved.

Our newly constructed home seemed to have bad granite. The installer didn’t think there was a problem. We hired Fred who gave documentation and pictures that our granite was defective. Fred is extremely knowledgeable & professional.
