Their service was good. They did what they were supposed to do so I appreciated it. I decided to go with this company because of the price.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and I was very pleased. There was one operator; he came and went within less than one-half-hour. He was very quick, efficient and did a good job. I have never used this company before and we cleaned the carpeting because we were preparing to move.

Shiny Carpet Cleaning was very straightforward, nothing really exotic or super special when he came. The guy did his job and the carpets were clean. He worked on the spots that needed the extra work and he job was done well. My interaction with them was quite good. You can add 12 steps with $3 each. They were quite prompt. They did what was expected and I wouldn't be expecting them to do anything different. For pricing, with the big deal was a good price. He was on time. He had a business suit nut I didn't expect that from a carpet cleaner. I probably would use them again.

5/17/14 update: He called me back and we were able to work out the issues that had caused some initial problems.

Service was thorough and quick. Only negative was that the carpets took almost a full day to dry, but that's in part because of the style of carpet. The carpet is very old and we were extremely pleased with how clean and new the carpet looked after the service.

They were great, easy to get scheduled and easy to work with.

It took less than one week from the scheduling to actual service. The technician showed up in time and performed the job as expected. The carpet was clean. Everything is good with a minor complaint that is the carpet was so wet and it took more than 2 days to dry it out. If he sucked more water out, it would have been better.

I called to schedule the cleaning service today (04/16/14). The offer provided for 5 rooms of carpet steam cleaning. I only had a family room and living room plus a flight of stairs and a carpet runner at the top of the stairs that needed to be cleaned. We have hardwood floors and purchased two pieces of room to room carpet cut to fit in the rooms and had the edges of the carpet bound. The same carpet was used on the stairway and as the runner at the top the stairs. The gentleman explained that this would not be covered as this offer was only good for carpeting that was nailed down. I explained that this was regular room to room carpeting - not oriental carpets. He insisted that this would not be covered and that the stairs would be an additional $3.00 each, even though I only needed two rooms of carpeting cleaned. At the time I thought I didn't have any recourse and scheduled him to clean the bedroom carpets on Monday (04/21/14) which are permanently fixed, however after talking to Angie's List (04/16/14) I called back and canceled this as it wasn't the service I needed - I need to get the family room and living room carpets cleaned.

Technician showed up within the appointed time, reviewed my job and went straight to work. A very pleasant man, and very efficient. We had all our furniture moved out, so it went quickly--only an hour or so There was a lot of dirty water from the steam machine, so I know our carpets are cleaner now than they were; we have to wait until they dry to see the difference. We got the Angie's deal, but paid extra for our carpeted stairs--$3/stair. You can pay by check, cash or, if you call the office, you can pay be credit card. UPDATE: We waited a day until our carpets dried, and the result was not pretty--there were noticeable streaks on our carpet, particularly in high traffic areas--places in front of furniture and by doors where people often walk. I did not call the company again, because at that point I suspected that their original work was not good. I went instead to Home Depot and rented one of their rug-cleaning machines. Since we had moved out almost all of the furniture in the rooms we had the company clean, and had not yet replaced any of the furniture, I had access to all the areas that the company had already cleaned in our house. I removed a large quantity of dirt from those areas--dirt that the company "missed." I did just what the technician did--go over the carpet with the machine and dump the dirty water in the toilet. I used carpet cleaner from Walmart, and mixed it, in the recommended amounts, with hot water from the tap, just as the technician did. I took a few pictures of the water I disposed of, after going over the carpet the company had already cleaned, to show how filthy it was. I tried to include these photos in this review so you could see for yourself how much dirt I removed from our already-cleaned carpets, but I am not able to. I had the same dirty results when I redid the hallway and other two rooms the company had previously cleaned. I do not know about our stairs, because I did not pay extra at Home Depot for the stair-cleaning attachment. The recleaning that I did required over 3 hours, not including my trips to and from Home Depot. Our rugs are beautiful in appearance now. Clearly, the hour or so the technician originally spent on our carpets was not nearly long enough.. But I could only tell for sure after the rugs had dried, and could only confirm it for certain after I went over are carpet again myself. I had hoped to avoid the travel, time, cost and physical hassle of carpet cleaning when I purchased the Angie's deal, but I ended up doing both: paying for the deal, and doing the job myself. REACTION TO THE PROVIDER RESPONSE Hello Sir. Thank you for your response. First, I appreciate that you are sorry about our bad experience with your company, but you have not offered to refund any of the money we paid you in view of the substandard service you provided. After our carpet had dried, I did not call you back because I did not have confidence in a company that did such a poor job the first time around. If you are so professional, you would have done it correctly the first time--frankly, you would have done it as well as I did. Second, if your machine and operator are so good, why did the "toy" machine from Home Depot pull so much dirt from the areas your machine had exact same areas you already "cleaned," and why does our carpet now look so much better after I used the "toy" on it than it did after you used your expensive machine? We had misgivings about your work on our carpet after it dried after you cleaned it. But I did not know how poorly your performed your work until I used the "toy" from Home Depot and did it myself. Clearly, in our case, there is, indeed a better way to get a clean carpet than your style of professional cleaning. Either the machine was faulty or improperly used, the operator was not properly trained, or he simply did not spend enough time to do the job right. And I would, if I could, append photos of the dirt I got out of the carpets you cleaned to show that one or all of those things must be true. Thank you.

I messed up the first appointment, they showed up and charged me $30 to re-schedule. Reasonable. The day of the service they called to see if they could come in the morning instead of the afternoon. I said only if you won't disturb my business conf calls. There was a lot of noise and it was very disturbing. I changed my schedule for them and they still charged for the other appointment. The guy who came did a pretty good job on the cleaning. But, he even once interrupted when I was obviously on the phone. Some people just don't understand about WORKING at home. The noise was very disturbing and he promised there would not be any noise inside the house.

We originally contracted with Next Day Cleaning, who apparently subcontracted with Shiny Carpet Cleaning. We accepted the originally quoted price of $219.00 and $3.00 per step; which equated to $315.00 for our two floors. The contractor arrived and gave us the same quote; however, as he walked through the house, he pointed out several major stains which he stated would cost $65.00 per stain. We counter-offered to pay the $65 if the stains did not come out with the normal steam cleaning. He then wrote an invoice for $315.00. The contractor then began his process of cleaning the carpets; he was not very careful about splashing water and cleaner in the kitchen, parked his van next to our open garage and the exhaust from the steam cleaning machine immediately began filling the entire house. In addition, the steam machine was very loud. On a positive note; he was very thorough, did the job in a very meticulous manner and did a good job overall. All the major stains which he pointed out came out with the normal deep steam cleaning. The final result was excellent, the carpets looked almost like new. Because of the contractor's initial behavior, we would not use him again, and we cannot give a good recommendation. We believe he could have expressed a more business like approach to dealing with the stains rather than flat-out charging extra.

They were friendly and professional, and we would consider using them again in the future.

Arrive a few minutes late. Was very professional and knowledgeable. Did very good work and then did an inspection of each area with us to ensure we were satisfied with work before they departed. Will definitely use them again!

They were punctual. I wasn't there but my husband was. The rooms didn't look clean; they still looked dirty when the carpet dried. I had it done for presentation for selling my house. They didn't move furniture and they didn't go way under the beds. They were not as thorough as I expected and it wasn't as clean as expected. When the furniture all came out, it didn't look like it had been cleaned at all. I wouldn't hire them again.

The job was done well... quickly and at the price agreed

The provider was prompt and efficient. The work was performed in a professional manner; information on the cleaning method was provided. Indicated areas of concern due to wear that would not be as cleaned as the rest of the carpet. This was due to the nap of the carpet being too worn in certain places. He provided a estimate for the carpeted rooms not included in the Big Deal. The estimate for the additional rooms seemed to be reasonable; was not too sure of the cost for the stairs but felt that the overall price for the additional work was worth the convenience of the company doing all of the carpeted rooms. OVerall I was pleased with the company work and the professional manner of the technician.

They did a good job. I do not remember it has been months. We had some visitors at that time, so, that was the right time for him. The carpets were cleaned pretty well and that was the important part of it. We decide as to follow the service they created.

Professional Courteous Respected our home by putting on booties before coming in!!! Moved the furniture to get to all areas Took time to analyze carpet needs before starting...made great care recommendations! Wanted to ensure we were SATISFIED before they left the home. We would GLADLY recommend them for family and friends.

They were prompt, did a great job, and were fast.

Everything went well. The guy came on time and did a very good job. I would definitely recommend them.

Shiny Carpet cleaned our lower level carpet and did an excellent job. They were fast, efficient and thorough. At the last minute while they were cleaning the agreed upon lower level carpet, we asked them if they could clean some steps and they didn't miss a beat. No hassle, no problem! For a nominal charge, they did the steps, too and they look great! I would use Shiny Carpet again.

I bought a deal for 1000 square feet. The young man was very pleasant. It was fine for the moment, but now it's black. There was a miscommunication. He didn't move any furniture. There are great big brown splotches in my tan carpet - the cleaning didn't last. The carpet stayed wet for several days. Scheduling with the company was one positive - it was very pleasant.

They cleaned my carpets. Loaded with energy. Came in with no hesitation and |started to work. Very upbeat. All in all a very good experience . The price was |okay in that I had a small place to clean relative to what I paid for and could have |if I had the space. Just wish they offered cleaning for small places like mine.

Cleaned all the wall to wall carpet in my condo. Great job. Carpet much cleaner and brighter; stains are all gone. Process started on time, went very quickly, no mess. Definitely worth the price.
