We did not have any heat from one of our two heat pumps. Shanahan's arrived on time and quickly diagnosed the problem as a bad fuse. The technician replaced the fuse and then cleaned the coil after I asked. Shanahan's has installed and serviced our heat pumps for the past 18 years - we have always been pleased!

Great experience! The bill was less than I expected for the work done. The guys showed up early and got right to work. All home improvement projects should be so effortless!!!

Water problem was a stupid error on my part. He corrected the draining issue without belittling me. The heat pump was an issue but he resolved the problem quickly.

Had two men promptly show up this morning and installed a damper on my furnace. During installation the men ran into problems in the way the ducting was initially installed by the home builder. It took quite a bit of effort to straighten the ducting out to enable damper installation. But they did it and the installation was successful. After they were done I commented that the initial builder installation was pretty "buggered up" and the tech said that its was ok because he was pretty good at "unbuggering". I like a sense of humor. Overall they did a great job. They re-taped around quite a bit of the furnace ducting and the clean-up was prefect. You would never have known they were here. Thank you Shanahan's.

I said most everything in my earlier review and my update, in the "What did the Provider" do section. I'll just say that it is so good to have a fews areas of life that you can really count on, Shanahans is one!

Shanahan's has done prior work at my home and I brought them out for an estimate to replace my heat pump. Their estimator was punctual, professional, and gave me every confidence that if I went with his firm it would be a good experience. Shanahan's currently only sells Trane heat pumps which was a considerable part of deciding to go with a different firm. I will definitely take estimates from them again if there is other work I need done.

Service was done one day after call. New parts were obtained and the work was done quickly on the same day. Personable and knowledgeable service person who made sure all details were covered.

We moved into the house in August 2009. The AC unit was struggling, and Shanahan's came to fix it. The coil was shot, so we decided to replace the whole thing. Shanahan's let us know about a significant rebate that would not start until 9/1. It was HOT upstairs and they came by 2X in August to recharge the AC so we could survive until September. Great service and we have been thrilled with our trouble-free and efficient AC unit!

The company provided outstanding service before, during and after the installation. They were very responsive to my questions and helped me procure a system that I have been very happy owning. The owner visited my home at the start and ensured that the system was well planned. He even participated in creating some of the duct work. The team did a fine job removing the old equipment and ensuring the area was clean after they completed their work. They took the time to show me how to operate the system and helped me ensure that my system was registered with Trane for the warranty. The system cost was very competitive. Recently they helped me verify that part of the system qualifies for a tax credit and helped me secure the required certification. I have routinely recommended Shanahan?s to my friends and I would highly recommend you consider them for your HVAC needs.

Not only did Shanahan's give us a great estimate on our two air conditioners and heating units (for Trane products), which did not change after the work performed, they came back a couple of times to tweak the system to make sure it worked to perfection. The company did a great job cleaning up. Our heat is so much better than it's ever been. We had problems with our humidiifer and even though it was not their problem they fixed it for us and replaced a small part for no charge. And they they came back and added another vent to help heat our basement, which has always been coolish in the winter. They reconfigured our attic duct system and made other changes to improve our heating situation. We were exceedingly happy with the work and commitment for service on the part of the company. We plan to recommend them to our neighbors, whose heating and ac units are aging, as ours did.

They installed a new heat pump. They were prompt, did good work, and their cost was similar to other companies I got quotes from. No complaints.

They were very punctual. The owner came out and talked to us about what needed to be done. He recommended that we not change our air conditioning unit at that time because he said that it's not the best but that it will last. He also suggested that we do some things that I would never have thought of doing; things like moving one part of the register to another part of the room in order to keep the drawer right next to where the output is, so you are not just circulating the heat. It was a good experience. One thing that stood out about them was their honesty; he didn't have to tell me that I didn't need a new air conditioner and that I've got five to ten more years on it.

The repair work was fast and professional. We will definitely call Shanahan's for any future HVAC service.

During furnace cleaning by another company they found a cracked heat exchanger. Their price for a replacement furnace at 80% efficiency and single stage heating and blower was $3850. Looked on Angie's list and Checkbook Magazine and contacted Shanahan's Heating & Cooling, Inc. and received a price of $2800 for 80% efficiency, two stage heating and variable speed blower. Work was done in about 4 hours. They were very careful about cleanliness and left the house in perfect condition. I highly recommend them for your heating and cooling work. I worked directly with Mr. Shanahan, and thank you very much for your prices and workmanship.

Once again, my experience with Shanahan's was excellent. Fast response, quality service, knowlegeable technician, and great price. I highly recommend them.

Representive came out on 11/26/12 to give estimate. He was very thorough and answered all my questions. Price was competitive. I called the next day to schedule installation. Representitive was pleasant and able to accomadate my request to schedule on 11/30/12. Received a courtesy call the day before stating the installers would arrive around 8:00 AM, depending on traffic. On 11/30/12 the first installer arrived at 8:50 AM and the other two installers arrived 20-30 miutes later. They worked quickly and efficiently and were finished before noon. They left the inside area very clean. Outside there were some small pieces of debris left on the ground. Installer explained operation of new unit and the process for warranty registration with Trane.

They are good, neat, and reasonably priced. They come when you ask and don’t do an unnecessary work.

We called Shanahan's after receiving a quote for a new furnace for a second estimate. Kirk came out and gave me a fair price. What really won me over was that he did not push me to replace my a/c unit too, since it wasn't giving me any troubles. His quote was $1100 less than my first quote which was for not as quality a brand. We were able to schedule an install for the very next day. The crew that came out was wonderful. They even got my humidifier working (which I had been told by other techs that it didn't work and had a clogged drain). They left the place clean. Great overall.

I called Shanahan's on September 5th and an employee came out the same day, gave me an estimate and set up an appointment for the replacement. The air conditioner was replaced two days later. I received a senior citizen's discount which made the total price less that the estimate! The work was done very efficiently and they cleaned up afterward. If I should need HVAC work again I would call Shanahan's and I highly recommend the firm.

These guys are great. Very professional service, reasonably priced. They took the time to explain what I needed and the work was top-notch. They repaired the furnace exhaust flue at the chimney where it was not attached correctly, brought the system up to code by installing fire stopping at each floor and then installed a custom-made chimney cap where the old one was completely rusted out (which was actually sitting directly on top of the exhaust pipe, preventing proper ventilation). I was prepared to replace my entire chimney, but Kirk told me that I only needed to replace the cap, which probably saved me a ton of money. Nice guys, honest, no run-around. Thanks!

They charged only $99 to set up gauges and clean it. I was so impressed that they fixed the problem, charged so little, and didn't try to charge for any unnecessary work. The fellow (forget his name) was very professional.

I called Shanahan's to schedule an appointment with a sales person for an estimate to replace my furnace. However, I was told that they don't have sales people as such; instead, they send their technicians because they know the equipment and can answer any questions. The technician, Larry Kirkpatrick, arrived at the scheduled time and took detailed measurements of the existing furnace. He then worked up estimates for two furnaces that would be appropriate; one was approximately $400 more than the other. He described each one and answered the questions that I had -- which weren't many, because I wasn't sure what to ask. He was very careful not to point me toward either furnace, and there was no pressure for me to make a decision then. In hindsight, I would've found it helpful if he had said something like "Some people wonder about . . . ." or "Sometimes people ask about . . . .," which might have helped trigger other questions that I didn't know I had. Larry left me with the estimate -- again, no pressure whatsoever. Over the next few days, five or six questions came to mind. I called him, and he answered all of them quickly and easily. I decided to go ahead with one of the furnaces he proposed, and called their office to schedule the installation. The installation could not have been smoother. An 8:00 a.m. on the appointed day, the first of about four to six installers showed up. By 10:00 a.m., it was done. The old furnace was gone; the new one was in place; I'd had a lesson on changing the filter and had received information on activating the warranty. The furnace is in an enclosed area on the balcony of a condominium, so both the old furnace and the new had to go through the living room. The installers put down a strip of canvas to protect the carpet. After they left, it was as if nothing had happened -- there was no indication that furnaces and people had been going back and forth through the living room for a couple of hours. I've had the furnace for over a week now, and everything is fine. It seems quieter than my old one, which is a nice surprise. I chose Shanahan's because of their ratings on both Angie's List and Checkbook. From my experience, they completely lived up to their ratings. I would definitely use them again.

The service has been very good. Whenever we have needed them they have came within a day or two.
