Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

Excellence service! Keith was punctual, polite, and professional. Not only did he provide great service but he gave me a lot of advice on various plumbing issues. The only drawback was the price. $249 for one hour of service is very expensive!

The technician was right on time, introduced himself and got right to work. I explained what has been going on over the last few days n that the toilet has not been flushing properly. He used an auger tool to free up the stoppage. The source of the clog was a pair of sunglasses that my 2yo must have flushed down the toilet. Very friendly service and will use Roto Rooter in the future.

Repairs have yet to be made, but the line is clear at the moment, fortunately.

They say they are Washington, DC based but I live in Gaithersburg, MD so they service all areas in the DC area. They are all of the above that I checked. They offer service in an hour and they come in that time. I have used them 4 times and once the service man got hung up on a prior job and they called me right away He still came within an hour and a half of my call for service. They give free diagnosis and quote the charges. When done the price does not change with extras added on. They are clean even putting down tarps at times to insure no messes. I have done price comparisons and they are the best. If you call someone else it is your loss.

He removed the toilet and snaked the main sewer line and was able to remove the clog. Someone will be following up with a camera inspection to make sure roots from a tree in my yard aren't growing into the sewer system. I thought the price was a bit steep hence the C rating for price. But overall the experience was good.

It only took about 20 minutes and the charge was $420 to snake one shower. If I would have known that up front, I would have shopped around or asked up front

Very good service. I called on a Saturday morning before a party I was hosting that evening, and Roto-Rooter had someone at my home within 2 hours, as promised. Other plumbers had no one available, even though they claim in their advertising to offer 24x7 service, it is often illusory. Not in Roto Rooter's case. They are on my go-to list!

Setting up the appointment with RR was very easy, and they called to let me know that the gentleman would be by in about 30 minutes. However, he didn't show up until well over an hour later. Not a huge deal, but they should have known that he was nowhere near only 30 minutes away. Once Kam came to the apartment, he was very polite and checked out the situation (clogged kitchen drain) and gave an estimate of $419. From calling other places, $300 was really the highest that anybody had estimated, and the lowest was $150. However, I wanted a free estimate from RR and they work 24/7. The $419 seemed a bit high, and when we let him know, he immediately dropped the price in half and we would make do without the 6 month guarantee. It seemed odd that someone is going to put up such a high price tag and then drop it so quickly. He was unable to give us an estimate of the time it would take as well to complete the task (although perhaps these things are actually quite unpredictable). This made us cautious and we ultimately decided to not go with RR. Everybody was kind, but the punctuality was a little bit of an issue and the price tag of it was definitely a red flag for us.

He was knowledgable. He informed me of what the problem was and went right to work..

The service technician was very professional and informative and he was very careful to keep the room clean I was very satisfied with the work done.

Dave came about an hour after I called for help. He very professionally looked over the problem, brought his equipment in, and took care of the issue.

Jamaal came to my home to snake the sink in the master bath. He was courteous, professional and efficient. He did an excellent job, and after having been swindled by another plumbing company, I was more than happy to pay for the service. I will go to Roto-Rooter first in the future!

issues.Everything went well. Van came in the evening which was a convenient time for us. He was punctual, polite, helpful and pleasant. He answered all of our questions and cleaned everything up after he finished installing the 2 new sump pumps. The price was very reasonable. I would definitely call Roto-Rooter again and especially Van for any plumbing issues.

Expertly done. The drain line in our home is too long to snake, has many bends, and has a lengthy section with a shallow slope, so it tends to clog easily. Roto-rooter has the right tools for the job and they know exactly what's needed when this happens (fortunately only twice in the past 20 years). Roto-rooter called (as requested) before arriving, got here when expected (at the very beginning of the service window they gave us) and completed the job within an hour.

Repairman was punctual, very courteous. He was a hard worker, explained what he was doing and left the work area, outside, spotless.

The appointment was set for 11am to 1pm but a plumber was available earlier so the office called to see if I was okay with an earlier appointment. Johnny arrived and proceeded to replace the garbage disposal with a new one I'd bought. There was still a leak after he ran a test, but he persevered until it was fixed. He was very professional and courteous. I can't speak on whether Roto-Rooter is overly expensive compared to other plumbers, since I haven't ever called around to get estimates. I honestly didn't even think about checking Angie's list for a deal. Once I find a company I'm happy with, I tend to just stick with them. Johnny is the 4th plumber from Roto-Rooter that's I've dealt with and I'm very happy with his service and that of Roto-Rooter in Arlington, VA.

We called Roto-Rooter Saturday, May 16, 2105 and they were able to accommodate us the same day. The technician Yovan was very professional and knew the subject matter. He explained every step and suggested some maintenance for the pipes. I command Roto-Rooter for having a technician with high level of customer service and for providing us an efficient person to perform this task. You should be proud of having someone with the understanding that he has. Overall, excellent job Jovan. While the technician provides an upfront cost, subject to client's approval, the price was extremely high, in our opinion. The company advised that their rates are competitive, though I disagree. Fees are not available until the technician evaluates the job. It is recommended that other plumbing companies be contacted to obtain pricing.

Service on 5/112 was scheduled for between 11 am and 1 pm; service man showed up at 4 PM. Once there , he was quick to relight and charge. Water heater only worked until the night; and pilot light was out again this morning. Called to come again, with a service schedule between 8 and 10 am; showed up at 3 PM. Solution is to replace the heater; service person gave quote. We have no complaint about the professionalism of the people showing up. Our problems are with the scheduling, where the timing between what they promised and when they showed up was unreasonably long.

Sabastian was terrific! He talked me through what he would do and the cost prior to performing the service. Discussed what he found when the service was complete and told me how I could used the drain cleaner product to keep the old pipes cleaned in the coming months. He was professional, polite and was well educated.

Cold nice the pipe broke down in the middle if the night. Called roto rooter at 7.30am they sent someone at 10.30am. 2 hr later I was able to turn the water on again. Thanks Kap you did a great job

They have the cleanest and they have the tools. This company have the tools for plumbing. They can do the job. They are excellent.

After a major snow storm, my tenant called to advise the main drain was backing up into the house. I scheduled an appointment on line with Roto-Rooter and they had someone at the house the next morning. Very responsive and very professional. The problem was that I had asked them for a ballpark estimate for snaking out the main line, but they said they couldn't until the technician came out. I was stunned when he quoted $695 as the initial cost of removing a toilet and snaking the drain to certain length of pipe. A longer snake would cost extra. I had had the problem before and knew that it is basically a 45 minute job that involves removing the downstairs toilet and running a snake down the drain to the street. To me, this seemed an outrageous price. I called another plumber I had used before who charged me $250 and was fortunate enough to get him on the second try. I thanked RR for their responsiveness and for coming out, but told them they were way overpriced. They said they were competitive with other plumbers. The second plumber removed the toilet, ran the snake down to clear out the clog and ran a cutting blade down to cut out any roots. He tested the line then reinstalled the toilet. He was going to charge me $250, but I gave him $300 as a thank you. RR is clearly a professional organization. But, as with many companies that do a lot of advertising and have a corporate structure behind them, their prices are way too high. They and others charge by the job rather than by the hour. This sounds nice, but is really a way of getting more for jobs than they're probably worth. To their credit, RR came out and gave a free estimate and didn't charge me for the service call. For that I am grateful and they couldn't have been nicer or more professional. Nonetheless, I think it would have been better if they'd given me a ballpark estimate over the phone and saved us all the trouble.

They were able to out the same day and they were able to complete the repair. They were fast and efficient. They completed the job in less than two hours and left no mess behind. They did a great job overall and we would use them again.

They were very good and one of the few that would come on a sunday. The guy was very smart and had the parts in his truck. They come very well prepared to get the job done and able to figure out the problem. They gave you a great price because we did two things in the same day.
