Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

They came out to unclog a garbage disposal. The technician said it would cost $350 to unclog the garbage disposal and I should have him put in a new one because mine was starting to wear out. He charged $655 to put in a new garbage disposal ($580 after giving me a $75 coupon). He put in a cheap 1/2 horsepower one and didn't change all the parts. He left some of the old parts on (the sink flange, fiber gasket, backup flange, mounting ring). Once I realized he didn't give me all new parts I called the company and they sent another technician right away and he replaced the parts that the other one had left out. Luckily he had those extra parts in his truck. I think I was overcharged for the garbage disposal replacement.

The work was performed efficiently, effectively and cleanly. The service technician was helpful and professional. My only complaint was the exorbitant price: $828 for a half hour of work! Surely someone else does it cheaper. No major problems were found but I was told I will be offered a free camera assessment of my sewer pipe..

They REFUSED to give me any sense of price on the phone but promised I would get a price from their technician and could reject it. I complained that I didn't have time for that, but in the end let him come when they proposed firt thing next morning. Bsed on competition, I expected $100-200. He said $862! Later, we agreed to do some of the work ourselves (remove toilet) and he went down by $200. But I still rejected it, after which he gave a vague offer of "trying to get management" to go down to $400. I sent him packiing. My gardener and I used our in-house drain cleaning machine (snake), even though we suspected it was a bit short, which is why I had called Rooter. But by stretching it out to the last inch, we reached the offending clog and cleared the drain! Gardner's time: 2 hrs. My time: 30 min. Marginal cost to me: $0. There are pleanty of lower prices advertised for drain cleaning. Years ago, Roto Rooter was a good deal. Now there is a slick web site and, at least, promise that you can reject their proposal, combined with (at least in my case) fast service. But the price was completely ridiculous, and the company philosophy seems to milk the customers for what they can get.

DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY! I hired this company for water restoration due to a busted pipe in the basement. Jason Nelson came to my house and "sold" me about all the things he could do. I hired because they could start within 2 days to avoid mold formation. These crooks came late on a Friday night and left within 45 minutes and I never heard from them again until 2 months later.... with a bill for $3000! I have complained to BBB and will look to take them to small claims court! Awful company that has no ethics! Stay away!

The wax ring was installed. The rocking of the toilet was not resolved despite the bolts being securely tightened.

Arrived on time and did a great job but he price is about 2x what the market rate is for a snaking but it does include a camera examination. I'd recommend preparing in advance with a better priced vendor in case this happens to you but for an emergency it worked fine.

The drain was unclogged in 15 minutes and has not clogged since. The repair man also checked my outside drain to make sure water was passing through. He came a day before there was a bad storm with lots of rain - he also poured water into both drains to ensure there would be no trouble once the storm started. I was relieved.

I received an unsolicited email on September 21, 2017 from Roto-Rooter offering a $75 discount on drain service. Since I had used the company before, and they had been reasonable and efficient, I called on September 25 and made an appointment to unclog a bathroom sink drain. I did not ask for emergency service, but they came right away. The technician snaked the drain and promptly cleared the clog. However, the charge after the discount was $410. That is simply outrageous and the discount offer was a misleading come on. I would not use this company again and cannot in good conscience recommend them to anyone.

Roto Rooter was great. They're high, but they were great. I called that morning and they were here by like twelve. They cleaned up the area when they were finished with their work. It was great. No problems. One guy came in and did all three toilets in an hour and a half. He was very effective. They came at a moment's notice, it was the holidays, and we were getting ready for a wedding. It was hectic. I did use them after that because these are the same people that fixed my plumbing for my sink when the guy broke it the day after Thanksgiving. They came back that Monday for the toilets.

It was just one person. It took a couple hours. It was very clean when he finished.

It went well. The job was finished within 2 hours, including putting a new seal on a toilet and all cleanup.

I would use them in a pinch. They could be cheaper.

The guy was great. Basically they came when they said, they did what they said they were going to do and I didn't have a clog drain anymore.

They were very efficient and they explained everything upfront and they took care of the problem. The gentleman was very professional. It was the Friday after Thanks Giving that they came out because I went online on the evening of Thanks Giving and I actually canceled the appointment online that night but the only issue I had is they didn't come. They gave me a four hour window and they didn't call me until that four hour window was about up to tell me that they weren't going to be there until later. My only complaint was that they didn't communicate that sooner to me because I could have run errands and done other things. I had to put pressure on them. They could work on timely communication.

They fixed it. It took two visits but they did fix it. The first visit was not very successful. They sent a different crew on the next job. My only complaint is the price is very expensive for a very brief visit.

Someone was at my house within an hour and did a fabulous job clearing the drain. Very nice gentleman, very helpful, and fast.

Very smooth. The service professional came within an hour of the call. We thought we were only going to get an estimate and have to wait another day, however, to our surprise, he told us he could clear the clog immediately! What a relief! Additionally, there was a $75 coupon on their website we utilized and we were not charged extra for an emergency service call or for evening hour service.

I thought they were excellent. They were super clean when they were cleaning up when they were done. I would tell people don't hesitate trying to find someone or shop around. Just give them a call. We really liked our guy. We actually took a couple of his cards and gave them to our neighbors.

They were 2.5 hours late from their schedule time slot of 8am - 10am. When the service person arrived he asked a couple questions and within a few minutes said I needed a $460 drain service and cleaning. I had the sink snaked at one point and it was $190. I declined the service. He said he could work with me on the price maybe $300. I was extremely disappointed. I anticipated that it would be $200 to $250, but to sit and wait for 4.5 hours to be quoted a ridiculous price, then drop it $160, which didn't make any sense. It was a complete waste of time. Don't use them.

We kept calling them after that every time we needed assistance.

We have used them multiple times. They are an A company. They get here when we need them. They have always been pretty good about getting out within a couple of hours or call. They get it done. They leave and we are happy with the work. Normally, it takes another four or five years to get filled up. I try to maintain it, but they come back and see us when we need them. We continuously use them.

I use them all the time. The service was good.

From an early morning call to a pleasant and efficient dispatcher, to the service provided by Arturo later that morning, my experience was professional and instructive in every respect. I had previously used Roto-Rooter some years ago and was pleased to learn that my data was still on file and easily accessed by the dispatcher and conveyed to Arturo, my technician. Arturo was personable and purposeful. He took the time to speak with me and to assess the job, provided a quote and, when approved, got right to work. My job was not overly complex but in addition to dealing with the clogged pipe, Arturo provided relevant and helpful information about how best to prevent future clogs. He cleaned the area after he finished his work and made sure I knew that his work is warrantied for six months. Roto-Rooter may not be the least expensive, but as was true some years ago, I value prompt and quality service by experienced, responsible technicians. Nice job. Thanks.

We were in an emergency situation with sewage back up twice in under 48 hours. The first time, we called a small local plumber recommended by friends. They cleared the pipe but didn't have camera capabilities. We hoped we were in the clear, but sure enough, 40 hours later and its happening again! This time we called roto-rooter because we saw they had camera capabilities. All I can say is WOW. We were blessed to have Diego Diaz show up at our door. Not only did he fix the problem, but he also taught us how to take care of our pipes and informed us of a water alarm we could put on the floor drain so we will KNOW when/if this every happens again. Thank you Diego! You're the best! Hoping to never HAVE to see you again - but if we do - you will be who we call!

I had tried to clear the drain but the stoppage was more than the 25 foot snake I had. They came in the time slot promised on Valentibes day. The provider was polite, professional, and took extra care to keep the house clean. The price seemed high, but it was a Sunday afternoon and no one else would come out. Sometime you pay a little more for immediate service.
