Description of Work: Gutted, and moved walls, in small master bathroom. Installed porcelain floor tiles, glass tiles in the shower and glass mosaic tiles in the shower and on the sink wall. Installed custom sink and cabinet, wall to wall mirror, and high end Toto toilet. The whole project went like clockwork and the finished product has a 'wow' factor and still gets compliments. Very pleased with Granitech since I also used them and Lowes when I had my kitchen remodeled 4 years ago.

Description of Work: Our designer met with often and redesigned our kitchen everytime when we brought in new ideas. He wanted to make sure we were completely satisfied and had in our kitchen everything we wanted. He was always willing to come out to the house and was very professional. He never pushed us to make decisions quickly and sought answers to our questions if he didn't know the answers immediately. Very easy to work with, a very nice guy! Very patient our initial contact started over a year ago as we first inquired about designs and he took it all in stride. They may be a little more expensive but we are only planning on doing this once and we wanted good quality cabinets.

The Company representatives were quite patient with the "choosing" process on the colors - and the project manager was responsive to my questions. The counter top is gorgeous - Granitech had colors available to them that other companies did not have. The backsplash is subtle and exactly what we wanted. We were pleased with both. We did have a minor issue - when they installed the counter and the plumbing - they created a hole in my cabinet floor and did not notify me. I found the hole after they left and was disappointed. I called management and they came out and we worked out a solution, management was apologetic for the issue.
Description of Work: Had a counter top and sink replaced and a new backsplash installed.

I scheduled an estimate in mid-August, my sales representative Yazz arrived on time measured the countertops. He brought samples for me to look at, he was very helpful in suggesting colors. The following week I went to the warehouse to pick out my granite slab, after I picked out my slab an appointment was scheduled 2 days later to make the countertop template. After the template was made the installation was scheduled for 1 week later on 9/11/09. The installers arrived on time, upon arrival they immediately covered my floors and proceeded to remove the old countertop and install the new countertop, sink, faucet, and garbage disposal. They did an excellent job cleaned up after they finished. The installation took about 2-1/2 hours. About an hour later the plumber arrived to hook up the garbage disposal and faucet. He also installed shut-off valves under my sink. He also did an excellent job. I am very pleased with my countertops. The best part is all the workers are employees of GraniTech no outside contractors and they took care of all the scheduling.
Description of Work: Installed granite countertop w/ 4.5 inch backsplash, and ogee edge, C-Tech stainless steel sink, Kohler faucet and 1/2 hp garbage disposal were included in the price of the countertop.

Granitech went out of their way to work with us to efficiently use every available part of a single slab of granite to give us new countertops in our English basement and then using the rest to make a double vanity countertop in our master bathroom. Incredibly professional and worked with us to use every available discount. We have referred them to a number of other people since who have all had great experiences.

Everything went perfectly. Zula was very helpful with selecting the granite and then the backsplash tile that accompanied it (see other report). The installation included a large sink and good quality faucet, plus a new disposal, all of which were included in the base price. The work was scheduled quickly and efficiently as the counter installers, plumber, and then tile installers all had to work around each other over a 3 day period. All the technicians were prompt and courteous and cleaned up well at the end. Everything looks wonderful. I would recommend them.

We had both the backsplash tile and countertops replaced (see other report) over a 3 day period. GraniTech took off the old tile without complaint (another company suggested we remove it ourselves) and replaced the backsplash tile over a 2 day period. Our sales rep Zula showed us how we could integrate portions of our granite countertop into the backsplash as small tiles, which would have never occurred to us, and it looks great. The work was very professionally done and the technicians were prompt and courteous. They also cleaned up well each evening, even getting on their hands and knees at the very end to wipe the floor! I would recommend this company.

I had used them a year earlier to do my wet bar. The salesman was nice, however did not mention anything about a seam. The template guy said I would have a seam and when the installers came they put the seam in the most visible place possible. I am not happy. Additionally, the installers were trying to talk me out of installing the 3 inch backsplash on the side I had ordered, and after an argument installed it. I am not happy at all with the job. I will not use them again.

Very satisfied except no one called us about their schedule as promised, and when we called back after waiting for 3 days they did not like our complaining. Reason: the salesperson dealing with us was on training.
Description of Work: Removal of old countertop from kitchen, laying new granite countertops as per our design and color. Related plumbing job. Providing new sink and faucet. First time design of the island did not quite satisfy us, so they sent another crew who created the design of our liking. They did not charge us for the second visit even though they could as a part of the contract, which is a plus point and made us happy. I liked their professional approach, promptness, precision of work, timely completion and reasonable pricing. They did not call back once or twice and did not like when we complained about it. Please call back when promised (even if the salesperson is absent on training; someone else should have contracted us about the schedule).

We used Granitech because we had worked with them before and had good results. This job started out fine. Sales help was good and they were responsive. When the granite was installed in the kitchen, it had large blemishes on it. They were able to get them off a few days later. The plumber they sent was horrible. He complained about everything, insisted I produce a copy of the contract before he would do the work, then had no clue how to install the faucet. I had to help him install it. Once the kitchen was done, their customer service went down the toilet. We needed to make a change in the wet bar and they would not return calls for more than two weeks. I finally had to go see them to get it moving again. I spoke with the VP and he got the job scheduled. When I spoke to the sales person a few days later about the plumbing for the bar, she was not helpful and was rude. It appears that service is great until you sign a contract, and then it is lousy.

I should say first that we are thrilled with the finished floor. The process took longer than we had expected: a full day to remove the old flooring and prepare the surface, another to install the underlayment, several more to install the tiles. We do, however, have a large, irregularly shaped kitchen. There were some communication problems along the way. The installers did not speak much English, and it was difficult to get information from them about the process and the scheduling. The one Saturday that we knew the crew was scheduled to work, they did not show up at all. When the tile was finished, the crew reported back to accounting that the job was complete and we should be billed, even though the thresholds and an electrical box had not been installed and a few tiles and some grouting needed to be redone. The company did then respond promptly, all our concerns were addressed, and the job was finished to our complete satisfaction.
Description of Work: Granitech helped us select porcelain tile flooring for our large kitchen. The price included tiles, removal of old flooring, setting materials, grout, new underlayment, thresholds, disconnection and reconnection of appliances, and installation of tiles in diagonal lay. Actual work extended over eight days.

We chose Granitech for our kitchen work based on the recommendation of a friend and two of his neighbors, one of whom had done extensive research before deciding on this company. All had been pleased with the results. Since then, I have heard of two other families who also had used Granitech and were quite satisfied. All the Granitech countertop employees we dealt with were competent, helpful, and professional. The sales person, Gizem Ozkaya, knew her stock and had a good eye for color. Measurers and installers communicated well, arrived as scheduled and did excellent work. The entire process involved parts of four days: final measurement and construction of templates; installation of the countertops and final measuring for the backsplashes; installation of new faucet and reconnection of the plumbing; and installation of the backsplashes. We are thrilled with the results.
Description of Work: Granitech helped us select granite for countertops and full height backsplashes for our large kitchen. Based on measurements we provided, they gave us a package price that included final measurement, fabrication, installation, removal of old tops, and a new sink and faucet. We received a 5% discount for signing the contract in December. Final measurement resulted in an additional $600 charge.

The customer service was exemplary from start to finish. My original salesman left Gtech after he had done the original "guesstimate" on footage needed, pricing, and ability to avoid a seam on a long section. All was honored. They coordinated getting my sink from the cabinet people for the template. The folks coming to my home showed up when they said they said they would, and were polite and knowledgeable. I interacted with at least 10 Granitech employees; from those that answered the phones, answered my questions in the warehouse and showroom, measured and installed, all are a credit to the company.
Description of Work: I needed Granite countertops for my kitchen. Was directed to Gtech by the kitchen designer, and also had their info from a kitchen show I had attended. Went to their warehouse/showroom and after describing the style of Granite I was looking for Ali directed me to the perfect combo of color and "movement". After I chose my slab their measuring expert came to my home, made some recommendations on placement and edge finishing, and departed with my template. I then visited the warehouse again to ensure that the slab could/would be cut so that some of the particularly lovely sections would be made into the most visible parts of the countertops i.e., a really nice swirl was included on the upper level of the pass through. One week later the install crew arrived with the precut pieces, did some on-site work so that all fit together smoothly and did an outstanding job finishing the work. I am thrilled with the result.

I contracted with them. We went in and chose a granite we liked. We gave them $2500 (70% down). We changed our mind on color. They charged us $234.00 for the change. Balance $1200.00 ($95.00 sq. ft). They said they couldn't bring it in 1 piece. It wouldn't fit up the steps. I agreed on 1 seam. They came in with the sink, it was beautiful. The 2nd part had a lot of gray in it. I saw the upgrade and I said "no" to the gray. We agreed on a color then it shows up with all the gray. They told me it would be $750.00 more to make the change. They offered me a cutting board to cover the seam. 2 feet @ $95.00/sq.ft. They didn't shave or polish the splash board. I've called the VP 5 times, he hasn't returned my call. They sent me a letter telling me they are going to send it to collections. I just want them to come out and finish what they started.

Response from GRANITECH
The members contracted with Granitech to do their countertop/ The color they decided on Golden Beach, which is very veiny with lots of different colors. At the time of measurement the seam location was discussed and approved by your member. The kitchen, at 43 square feet of countertop and slabs, came at an average of 50square feet. There wasn't a lot of rom to decide where the pieces get cut. The shop did the best they could to match the seam. The member signed a custom slab approval and waiver that clearly states color, veining, and texture may differ with each piece, and no two pieces are exactly alile. The member was told that if he wanted to change the top to match better it would cost $750 to cut a new piece from a second slab. He was also told that there would be a good chance that we wouldn't be able to find a better match on the second slab. I offered then a cutting board to put over the seam at no extra charge just to help them out. In my fifteen years in the business, the seam I saw on the jobsite matched very nicely.
