I left for work before they came. My view of the house was different, there were no workers at my property when I came home. I had completely forgotten they were scheduled to come that day. After about 10 minutes of looking at my house, I realized that they had come and the view of my property was different as the tree had been thinned out and so much light was now coming through. I use a chainsaw (I have 3) for cutting the wood I heat my house with. I didn't see one piece of sawdust, broken branch, debris of any kind, nothing was there that ever indicated anyone, much less a crew of workers had ever been on my property. They saved and extended the life of this tree and the shade it provides. I am going to have them remove a poplar that is too big this spring. I cannot overstate how great they were, Mario and his crew did a great job educating me and executing outstanding customer service.

We were very impressed with the work done and the cost was quite reasonable. We would definitely call them again!

We went with them because they are cheaper then the people we normally get firewood from and because we had used them before and found them to be a very professional and clean.

This company was recommended by a friend of mine (who is an arborist) so I called them when I decided to take down an old maple tree in my backyard that was nearing the end of its life. The tree was in a tricky spot, in between power lines and hanging over my fence, shed, and carport. Mario came out to do the estimate, and the price was much lower than I anticipated so I didn't bother to get any other estimates. They did the work while I was out at my office, and when I came home everything was as we had discussed - including very nice and neat cutting and stacking of the big pile of smaller wood pieces that I had requested they leave as firewood (as it turns out, my neighbor across the street was able to use the larger chunks, so that worked out well for everyone). I told them to leave the mulch pile created from grinding out the stump, so it's been nice to have a big pile of mulch to put on all my beds. Very pleasant company to deal with, and a great price. If I had to ding them on anything, it would be that they didn't quite restore things to how they found them; some gutter extensions were moved (to get the equipment in, I assume) and not put back, and my patio set was moved to the far end of the patio. That said, putting it back the way it was only took me about 5 minutes, so they still get an "A" from me! I have already recommended them to friends in the neighborhood who may need some tree services.

Outstanding. Very conscientious careful work. On the three extra trees, rather than remove just the specific pieces I requested, the removed all the deadwood on all three trees.

They were wonderful. They cleaned up after themselves. They were timely and worked with my schedule. They were very quick. They listened to my situation. Their pricing was very fair.

Estimates have always been timely and professional, and the discussion makes it clear that the company is not just "tree cutters" but actually knows quite a bit about trees and how to take care of them. In cases where I've gotten multiple estimates, their prices have been competitive. They are very responsive (amazingly so after recent storms) and have always shown up on time. The crews are friendly and professional, well trained, and have always done an excellent job cleaning up the site before leaving. The most recent job took a crew of four the better part of a day, and they did an amazing job getting into the farthest reaches of some very large trees to remove deadwood and unwanted limbs and growth, leaving the trees much better shaped and healthier looking. I highly recommend them.

I wasn't there during the work but my neighbor kindly checked tha execution of the job and he was admired. He said they perform better than he expected.

The price was high but they did ok. There was nothing very difficult about the job. They cleaned up.

I was very pleased with their service. They set up the equipment properly. They had the proper number of workers to do the work. They cleaned up the area very well. The price was very good. They were very professional and they came in and did their work when they said they would. In fact our neighbors saw the work they did and had them do work on their house; they were also pleased. I would use them again.

The G & V team was prompt and professional. I was working from home, so was able to observe them occasionally. They approached the job in a logical and conservative manner. (This is conservative in the good sense, i.e., not taking shortcuts or unnecessary risks). Not only did they use proper technique for harnessing and tie-offs, but they somehow managed to remove this large tree without causing significant damage to the surrounding azaleas. They neatly stacked the healthy logs we wanted to keep for firewood and removed everything else. Incidentally, I split those logs yesterday which prompted me to finally write this review. They even raked up the sawdust and the grass in the area recovered within a couple of weeks. Top notch!

It was great. We were very pleased with it. They worked quickly for a good price.

G&V was absolutely awesome and super responsive for our last-minute tree trimming just before a hurricane. A big storm was headed our way and we feared our tree branch would fall into our house or take down power to our house for several days. Two days before the storm, I called 10-12 companies, but nobody was available or willing to solve our problem. Except Linda at G&V, who scrambles her team to trim our tree that very morning and worked closely with me by email, phone, and fax to set it all up within an hour. That service phenomenal, especially considering the how every tree-trimming company was in demand before the storm. We all survived the storm and slept well knowing it wouldn't crash into our house. A ++ for Linda and G&V pulling it off.

Exceeded expectations in that the workers were very efficient and checked with me throughout the process to make certain that they were doing what was expected. Company dropped branches, limbs and vines to the ground without damage to yard, house or adjacent trees, cut fallen materials into manageable size, and gave me a savings by leaving tree branches, limbs and logs for me to clean up. Had several estimates and this company, though not the lowest, came close enough and their prior ratings and customer satisfaction on Angie's List.

G and V Tree Service was amazing. I had a very large and bushy oak tree in the front yard that was touching the house that I wanted trimmed and thinned out and several dead branches I wanted cut off five large oak trees in the back yard. I got several estimates, all of which were at least 50% more than G & V. I called G & V and someone answered immediately and said that someone could stop by for an estimate that day. Alejandro came by and called in advance. He was very professional and spent a good amount of time looking at the trees and explaining what he would do. He then gave me an estimate on the spot and emailed it to me. Alejandro and I emailed a few more times because I asked if the wood could be cut for firewood. The following week G & V did the work while I was at work. I came home to a clean yard, trimmed trees, and a neat stack of wood. Based on their professionalism, quick responses, and good pricing, I would definitely use them again.

It was a fine experience. They came and gave an estimate, came and did the work, then sent me a bill, and I paid them. It was a smooth transaction.

The work was done quickly and professionally - All the debris was taken away - I could not be more pleased and recommend them highly.

When our next-door neighor's tree toppled during Hurricane Sandy and landed in our front yard, G&V was called the next morning and came by within a couple of hours to give us an estimate on the cost of removing the tree. I accepted their bid on the spot and then learned from our insurance claims aget that the price they quoted was outstanding. The very next morning, a G&V crew was removing the limbs and downed trunk. They even raked up the debris and cleaned up after themselves completely -- a far cry from the tree removal service we had used in the past. They set more than a dozen large sections of the tree truck on the berm in front of the house. They came by the next morning and, within a half hour, everything was loaded up and hauled away. Mario Galo and his colleagues at G&V Tree Service are the best! We already have some other work in mind for them to handle and would not hesitate to recommend them. If they could get an A+++, I'd award it to them.

The powerful "derecho" storm on Jun 29, 2012 caused a huge dead oak tree standing in our back yard to drop a large limb in our backyard which landed about 20 feet from our house. That was enough to convince us to get several estimates for cutting it down and grinding the stump. Got several estimates and G & V Tree Service was right with most other companies. (All large tree removal is astronomically priced.) I liked their responsiveness and low-pressure approach to providing the estimate (marketing technique). Their responsiveness was impressive b/c they, like most tree service companies, were extremely busy after the derecho storm. I gave them a ?B? for quality, however, b/c of how they handled my request for a small portion of the tree to be cut into firewood. The arborist said it would be no problem. When the foreman showed up with his crew, he said the same thing. I returned home from work to find that they left us with entire cross-sections of a 100-ft tall oak tree in our backyard, saying, ?you should be able to manage that.? So, that was a bummer but I should have just told them to take it all away the next day. Overall, great experience with this company.

My initial contact was with Mario. He arrived on time in a vehicle that had the company logo. He did his analysis of the tree, went to his car and printed an official estimate on company logo. I was very pleased with that and found it to be very professional. I had three companies come give an estimate and I found G & V to be the most professional and was pleased with the price (they also had a coupon). On the day of service they arrived bright and early. Three guys came and did an excellent job pruning my large Maple and removed the Evergreen tree and stump. They left everything clean and tidy upon completion. I would recommend this company and will use them again.

I am completely satisfied with G & V Tree Service. The G & V staff was friendly, professional, and responsive. The site inspection, project proposal, and work were performed within a week of my initial phone call. There was no cost for the estimate visit. The G & V representatives were punctual, understood the requirement, and advised on how they would perform the tasks. Later the same day, G & V emailed a project proposal that accurately described the work to be performed and presented a price lower than another proposal. Their trim work gave the trees in a natural groomed look. Clean up was thorough. I recommend G & V Tree Service.

I am newly wed and living in my husband's home in MD. My neighbors called to advise me that two large trees in my yard in VA were ready to fall. Louis was driving when I called. He was very friendly and pulled over to take my information. He called later that afternoon from my yard with some questions, then emailed a proposal. He was able to get a crew out to do the job in two business days. I contracted with him based on other reviews and my own experience with him. The crew arrived on time, were lovely, respected the other landscaping in my yard and my neighbor's, removed the trees professionally, left no debris.... It was a great experience from start to finish.

They responded quickly to my query. They went out to my house and sent me an estimate over email right away. I appreciated the fact that they would work with me over email as I work during the day. Since they had the lowest quote of the 3 quotes I received and since they were very responsive I hired them. I asked to have the work done that week and they agreed to come Friday at 8AM. I explained that I wanted to replace the tree with a fruit tree so they made sure to grind down the stump extra deep. They did a great job cleaning up as much debris as they could and you could barely tell a tree had been there. The only bummer was that I realized that night that I had chosen to cut down a perfectly good tree on Arbor Day!!!!!!

Found them from Angie's list. Mario Gonzales came out for the estimate very soon after I contacted them.Work was performed very well.
