G&V (Galo & Velasquez families) dies outstanding work. I've used them twice before for "regular" tree-cutting/pruning/stumping services, but they came today for emergency work (fallen tree blocking driveway). Tree dropped two very large limbs on Thursday night; they came to unblock the driveway on Friday and completed the job (complete removal of tree) on Saturday. Extremely responsive, timely, courteous and professional. Highly recommend. Will no doubt use them again.

Arborist doing the estimate was good. Crew showed up at 6:30am to begin cutting down trees, this was before the ordinance of 7am. I appreciate promptness not disturbing my neighbors before allowed start times. Crew did not appear to know what trees despite a very detailed invoice in two languages. I had to do a walk thru while getting ready for work. Following the removal of two 50+ foot trees the crew began trimming. One tree turned out great, the second which was supposed to be “light shaping of crown” turned into extreme pruning to the point our lovely holly tree looked dead. My husband immediately called me and sent photos - we were devastated at the look of the tree. The arborist acknowledged the mistake and offered to PAINT the areas where branches were gone. After two days of looking at the tree, we decided that 3-4YEARS they said it would take to regrow was too long and ultimately we had them remove the tree. It was a fight to have them replace it with anything, they finally showed up with a young crape myrtle claiming that merrifield nursery had no fully grown trees, funny I had been there two days prior and they had plenty. In photos you’ll see a far away picture of a full crown, and up close where it was “pruned”. My bush removal was substandard, crews left the roots and nearly skipped the job entirely until my husband asked how it would be for that portion. The work was sloppy and a mess was left. Later that afternoon I learned the same company cut down the wrong tree in my neighbors front yard, a beautiful cherry tree that has to be replaced. Despite home owners being home in both my home and my neighbors, and very clear invoices the work done was wrong. Instead of being helpful and navigating a solution G&V was argumentative and only provided replacement trees after repeated calls and complaints to management. I woke not recommend unless entire tree removal is desired.

G&V did a great job - first, they provided a more competitive price quote than another company I talked with. Second, the team that came out to do that work was great - they were timely and personable, and clearly explained options. They then did the work as we had talked and cleaned up very neatly. I would hire G&V again in a heartbeat for more tree work as I need it.

Our project was removal of a large tree near power lines and trimming the dead wood from a second large tree. G&V coordinated with the power company, performed the work as scheduled in a safe, efficient, and professional manner, and cleaned up carefully. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Read great reviews on Yelp and Angie's List. for G&V The proposal I got seemed very reasonable so I didn't bother to contact another company. I had G&V remove all the plants from the backyard of my townhouse. One side included ivy completely covering the fence (planted many years ago by my neighbor who has since moved). The new owner had no problem with the ivy being removed. A new fence was installed, which looks beautiful, and was secured properly to the back of my townhouse, unlike the fence on the other side which was replaced some years ago by another contractor. Mulch was added on both sides of the yard. G&V also installed a PVC pipe from the downspout, underground for the length of the fence, emptying into a hole they filled with gravel, covered with dirt, and installed a popup to handle any heavy downpours. It is all downhill from that point to the woods in back of my house so this should be very effective. Everyone makes you feel you are a very important customer including Mario, Edwin (at the office), the two 3-men teams who did the work over two days. I highly recommend G&V. When I am ready to replace the other fence and plant something in the back and front of the townhouse, I will have G&V do it.

Fast response to my initial phone call Work was completed within 2 days. G & V came with all the equipment required to do the job right. They also pruned a tree near driveway which had lower branches extending and hitting me in the head every time I park my car. Great care to protect my property during the job. Nice folks, good work, great experience.

Excellent. Several small trees were overrunning the flower bed and a couple others needed trimming, and I wasn't sure what was the best thing to do with them. The gentleman who came to do the estimate was knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. He recommended removing one of the trees that was crowding the others and trimming the others, as well as removing two from the backyard that had wandered in on their own. The cost was slightly lower than another estimate I got. The men who showed up to do the work explained what they would be doing and did a beautiful job, both on the trimming and on the cleanup. I would definitely call them in the future.

I really like the results, the trees look great. There is a certain art to this; can’t wait until the leaves are in to be able to see the full impact.

Fantastic job by the crew. Polite and friendly. Did exactly what I wanted and even stacked the logs neatly for me and removed the small branches. They cleaned the area very well. I would hire them again.

They cleaned up well and chipped the debris on site with absolutely no mess. I never would have known they were on my property. I asked them to stay off my newly seeded lawn as much as possible which they respected. I would definitely hire them again as the estimator was VERY clear in what was expected and they did exactly as contracted, unlike other arborists I've hired before

The work done was excellent! They cleared debris and left a clean work space, and I was able to schedule the job when I wasn't even home. They were also prompt in their communication with me throughout the process, from getting an initial estimate, to scheduling the work, to follow-up after the job was done.

If you ever need tree service in Northern Virginia, I'm happy to recommend G & V Tree & Landscaping of Springfield, VA. Yesterday, they removed two diseased Plum tree's, including stumps, and pruned nine others, including three large Maple's, a River Birch, and a Bradford Pear. Re'ne and his crew of three showed up on time, got right to work after checking in with me, and I don't think I've seen a group work so efficiently. Later on, a fifth worker showed up with a self-propelled stump grinding tool. After the work, they cleaned up so well I couldn't even tell they had been there, except for two missing trees, and nine others professionally pruned and shaped. On top of that, they offered a ten percent off coupon for Angie's List members, saving me a nice sum of money. I also have to thank Jamie, who came out to work up our estimate, and those in the office who were on top of the scheduling and communication. I couldn't be happier, and will absolutely use them again the next time I need tree service. No need to just take my word for it, though. Check out their reviews on Angie's List, Yelp, and Google. They're outstanding, and for good reason. NOTE: I contacted Freedom Tree Service on the same day I contacted G & V, and I never heard back from them. But I doubt I could be any happier on how things went, so all is well that ends well.

They did everything on time, with a good customer service, and what the contract called for.

It took a while to schedule but I am happy with the work and the price. All things considered, I would hire them again.

Amazing! Marcello showed up with what looked like a Bobcat. The stump was sycamore and huge. He went to work immediately and in just under an hour, the whole thing was done. I have a huge pile of mulch that will be very handy in future landscaping.

The price didn't include debris removal or anything else, it was just the grinding. One was really good, the other one was a little messier and I'm not sure, I've never experienced this before, I'm not sure if that was because the tree roots in that situation were a little rougher or they didn't do as a good a job as the other, I couldn't say. But it was functional. They came when were weren't home.

They really did a nice job. They were quick to respond to my initial request for a quote. They came out the same day, gave me a good quote, and got to work the very next day. Everything turned out better than I thought it could. Their prices were the best I found and they cleaned everything up like they were never even there. I think the best thing about them is they genuinely cared about my trees and my property. I'll absolutely use them again.

My crabapple tree had many intertwined and spindly branches especially in the crown, and last year, I noticed branches drooping a bit from the weight of the fruit, so I contacted G&V Tree and Landscaping. (I had contacted them in 2012 for a different job, and due to a scheduling conflict, I chose another company but I was impressed with Mario Galo, the owner). I called G&V and agreed on a date. The crew arrived promptly after noon and quickly trimmed branches and shaped the tree. Once they were done, they ran all the branches through their wood chipper, cleaned the area surrounding the tree, used a leaf blower to clear dust and debris away from the house, the sidewalk, and parking areas. The crew was very competent and took pride in their professionalism. The job was complete in under an hour. I am very satisfied with the job G&V did on my tree and the efficiency displayed by the person who took my calls and the tree-trimming crew.

G&V Tree & Landscaping crew did an excellent job. They did exactly what was on the contract, plus cleaning and hauling away the debris afterward. Mario, the co-owner, who came out to estimate was punctual and professional. His brother supervised the crew on the day of the work. The company also honored 10% discount from Angie's List. The price was mid-range among the three estimates I got, but I chose their service because I trust Mario and his vision for our new backyard. I hope to work with these guys again on future projects!

Crew arrived on time, immediately went to work and completed the job in a several hours. They were extremely professional and polite, worked continuously until the job was finished, and left the front yard in fine order. I was very pleased with their service and would hire them again without a single hesitation. Thank you G&V!

They arrived close to the arranged time. They were very professional and efficient. I was very impressed that to get to the dead tree, which could not be climbed as it would have fallen over, the worker climbed another tree and swung over. They cut up the wood into logs as we requested. We were pleased with the price, as we had obtained a few other estimates which were more. The also e-mailed us their insurance papers when we asked. We would definitely use them again.

I called and made the appointment for the 29th, but due to the weater they reschedule it for may 2nd from 11-11:30, and since this is a rental property that I have I went there and waited for them in my car and no one showed up. Called them and received no apologies for this just that they didn't let the person know to come by, and asked me if they could just send someone and that I didn't have to be there. I agree to this but still haven't heard nothing from them. I guess they don't want my business, so I have contacted another company they were there on time and I've already made the appointment with the to get the tree remove.
