The guys were on time can worked fast! They screwed down all the subfloor. They even cut the closet doors so they would fit with the new wood floor. The floor looks amazing! I would totally use them again. They did a great job and cleaned everything up when they were done.

Marty Engel was very professional and prompt when i contacted him and requested a quote. He came on time and on a weekend to provide an estimate. His estimate was within $50 of other quotes I received. The crew who did the work, Carlos and Fernando were timely, friendly and very good at their craft. The floors had to be refinished in two phases because of the amount of furniture on the main floor. The work took about a week to complete. We had three areas where the boards needed to be matched and replaced and the crew did a great job of both. Our floors were showing significant wear and now they new look like new. I highly recommend Floorcraft if you are considering getting your floors refinished. Marty thanks very much for the work done by you and your team.

Provided quick estimate and performed work a couple days later. Sanded down the foyer and refinished in a slightly lighter color as the red oak was not an option. 13 year old floor looks brand new. They fixed a damaged board as well. They also stretched the living/dining and family room rugs.

After meeting with Marty to choose a new carpet and padding and receive an estimate from him, I found Shaw carpeting that I wished to have installed that he did not have a sample of. Marty obtained the carpet that I wanted to use. The installers were exceptional! Unfortunately, I can't recall the primary installers name. He was awesome! The removal and installation was completed in a professional, friendly manner. The installer did an excellent job. I am very pleased with the quality of work.

The crew was great - was installed as promised - great work - attention to detail which was very important to me - will definitely use again in the future and would recommend.

I could not have been happier. The carpet suggested for selling a home is beautiful. I really like it and am sad to leave it!! The installers were great, polite, professional and very tidy. Great staff. The day after we installed, we thought we had a plumbing issue which would have meant digging through our basement slab, this is where the carpet had JUST been installed, to repair a collapsed pipe. I emailed Marty, he had his installers out to our house very quickly to pull back the carpet for this work. He was very prompt and totally sympathetic. Luckily, we did not have a collapsed pipe. But Marty was very, very helpful as we needed to get the carpet removed from the affected area quickly to move ahead with the repairs. Which fortunately weren't necessary. But I will always be grateful to Floorcraft for this excellent service.

We needed our carpeted floors in our living and dining rooms changed to wood. We had already had that done for the other floors on our main level. Marty Engel came and gave us an estimate. It took us eight months to decide to finally start. His staff came early on the day we picked and moved all the furniture, removed the old carpeting, prepared the floors and put in the wood. Then his other men came in and sanded and stained the floors. They were always on time and all the work went smoothly. We had some painters come in while the furniture was out of the rooms. Floorcraft's people then came back and moved our furniture back. Everything went great and the floors look wonderful. Floorcraft's people always made sure they cleaned up after they did their work.

I've worked with Marty Engel of Floorcraft on multiple projects and he is now my 'go-to' place for any flooring needs. I always recommend him to others. He refinished the hardwood floors on the first floor of my home after a remodeling job and they are lovely! We also installed cork flooring in the family room, and while his price was a little higher for the product, it was a better quality product than I could find any place else. I highly recommend Floorcraft.

Initially, I was not going to hire Marty as he asked whether my husband would be home for the estimate; I found this question to be inappropriate. When he came for the estimate, he brought his associate who he introduced as an expert installer. (I had planned to use slate which apparently was difficult to install, but ultimately went with porcelain tile.) Per Marty's estimate, I had to provide my own tile and grout. As a homeowner, this was challenging. I relied heavily on the salesman at the tile shop who was extremely helpful, and was able to get an excellent price. Thankfully, the contractors picked up the tile as I do not drive a truck. The grout was another issue. Marty sent emails about some type of "universal" grout that did not need to be sealed. However, the tile shop did not carry this type of grout, and his associate told me to purchase sanded grout - and he was of the opinion that all grout needed to be sealed - especially in the kitchen. In addition, Marty told me that the baseboards did not have to be removed prior to installation, but after researching that issue, I found that they should be removed, so I removed all but the baseboards in the small pantry. Although Marty did not think the baseboards needed to be removed, his crew did, and removed the baseboards I had left in the pantry. (They discarded them). When the job was finished, the installers were in a hurry to leave and the second half of the floor was not properly rinsed. They did come back to re-rinse the floor. When I asked if they would be sealing the grout, they said "no" that was very time consuming. Marty then explained - again - that I should have purchased the "universal" grout. I have had to seal the grout myself. Finally, I had to replace the floor because the dishwasher valve had broken and flooded the kitchen. Marty's associate replaced the supply line to the dishwasher telling me that it would not flood again with this "special" type of line. Not three weeks after the job was done I had water on my kitchen floor. I called a plumber who replaced the valve to the dishwasher and had to replace the "new" supply line as well. The plumber told me the supply line that had been installed was a used part. I emailed the plumber's invoice to Marty's associate to ask if there was a warranty on his work. I did not hear back from him, but in the meantime found that Marty's crew had dumped their excess grout in my front yard. I emailed a photo of the grout to Marty. He was very apologetic and said they would clean it up. I also asked him if he had heard anything from his associate. He wanted to know what happened, and I explained the situation. After many emails which became increasingly accusatory on Marty's part (he actually asked if I has looking for free repairs), he agreed to warranty the $125.00 supply line, and told me to call another contractor in the future because I was unfair. I thought it was interesting that I was unfair because I expected a job to be done properly and last more than 30 days, and did not expect to have grout dumped in my front yard. In sum, I found Marty very difficult to deal with, and would not retain his services again.

FANTASTIC! - Marty and his guys are some of the best contractors we have ever worked with. They were prompt (would always call if there was going to be a weather/snow delay), responsive (Marty would usually return emails/calls within 5-10 minutes or less), completely reliable/knowledgeable (answered all of our many questions), neat (always had the job site looking great at the end of the day), pleasant (workers had a wonderful, positive, "can-do" attitude), quality of work was superb, and the price was very reasonable. I really cannot say enough good things about Marty and his company. Our basement looks beautiful! - Such a huge improvement. Marty was also quite good at giving feedback about the overall look in the basement, such as advice on tile patterns, colors, and carpeting styles. He brought carpet samples to our home and gave us the name of a good (and reasonably priced) tile store in the area so that we could look at various tiles and bring samples home to compare to the carpet samples. Marty's workmen (Max and his partner) were incredible workers. They were dedicated to the job and strove for excellence in their workmanship. They stayed until after 8:30pm on a Friday night to complete the job (just before the next snow storm hit on Sunday night.) Wish more contractors were like Floorcraft! A+++

It went great! Marty Engel is a pleasure to work with. The job was completed within the requested timeframe and Marty kept us informed of work progress the entire time. Marty also included and "Angie's List" discount as well as a discount for payment by check. We are very pleased with the results and would recommend this provider anytime.

We loved our experience with Floorcraft. Marty was so nice and extremely professional. His crews were on time and professional. We feel lucky to have worked with him. We had just moved into a new home and tore up old carpeting that had been there for decades. The floors were stained with dark spots all over, but otherwise in good condition. Marty explained what type of wood and flooring we had -- turned out it was pretty good. He said he thought he could get the dark stains out -- and they did. He had great recommendations as to color, and the type of treatments we should use. (No color -- just clear coating, oil-based.) I never would have known to do this on my own, but we are so happy with the end result. It looks beautiful and matches our old house so well. Also, they are holding up really well -- very durable and look just as good as the day they were finished. We didn't love a small piece of trim at the bottom of our stairs, so they came right back and changed it for us. I would highly recommend this company.

I used them the day before Christmas Eve and I spent $8200 with them for the job. The pricing was good in comparison to other estimates that we got, they were able to deliver within the timeline that we were looking at and he was very professional.

Marty Engel was very professional and it was a pleasure to work with him. He and his team paid attention to all the details that we had discussed. The job took a little longer than originally planned due to having less workmen available than planned. However, I am very pleased with how it looked when they were finished. I am writing this review more than 6 months after the work was completed and I am very pleased with how well the floors hold up. The hardwood was scuff-resistant and has held up to a teen-age boy, 2 dogs and a cat. I still love it and I would recommend Floorcraft and Marty Engel's for hardwood flooring.

I am a real estate agent and use Angies list to find contractors for my clients. I have a listing that is vacant with a worn out wood floor on the main level. I contacted Marty for an estimate. The price came in as very agreeable. The owner kept in contact with me. When Marty got the green light we wanted to find out when he could do it to find out that he already started. The work was completed as stated and came out looking terrific. I will definitely call him again in the future.

Installers arrived on time and quickly got to work removing the existing carpet, preparing the subfloor and existing floor molding and then installing the new floor (start to finish was about 6 hours). All in all it went very smoothly and the new floor looks great. It was a lot less mess and a lot less stress than I was anticipating and I'm very pleased with the new floor.

Provider was very professional in initial contact and showed up at the appointed time for the initial consultation. Offered excellent advice and feedback. We had the sense we were in the best hands with this provider who presented a great first impression. However as the business relationship moved forward,we felt that the provider somewhat made excuses and did not provide exactly what was called for in the proposal...for reasonable reasons...but also did not offer appropriate credit/compensation for what was not provided. We were headed out of town and unavailable when the provider was to start work and as agreed we had texted contact information for family members who would be available in our absence...provider claimed to never receive the info...so when we arrived home two weeks later expecting that the work would be completed, it had not even begun because he had not been able to access the property. We were trying to list and sell the home and were on a very tight schedule...this omission set us back. The provider/manager was sometimes very rude on the phone, particularly when complaints were involoved---he talked over me and would not listen when I had anything negative to report...such as the poly splash on our fresh wall and baseboard paint. The home had been painted first, which the flooring contractor agreed would be the best approach, to not have painters working over newly refinished floors. However, we were not prepared for the extent of polyurethane from the floors that would be splashed onto the fresh paint and ended up spending $400 to have the painters come back and address areas that the flooring folks had messed up. When we asked for the flooring contractor to cover the expense, he declined. Overall, the price we paid was fair, and less expensive than other quotes. However in one area the contractor proposed to refinish floors and only cleaned and polished them due to not properly assessing the requirements to refinish them in the first place. We had Bellawood that required expensive diamond sandpaper to refinish, which he said he did not anticipate or price appropriately in his bid. That floor not being refinished was disappointing even though the appearance was greatly improved by the cleaning and polish-finish he applied. Overall, I probably would hire Floorcraft again but would handle management of the project differently, now that we know what to expect from them from personality and performance perspectives.

Marty is extremely responsive, and I really liked the in-home shopping experience. He had plenty of options to choose from. The installers were friendly, professional and did a great job. Good experience from start to finish.

When he first came out, I had in my mind what I wanted. He was very adamant on not using the vinyl in the beginning and once they did the install he did not let me know before the install it would stain easy and you could not move anything across it, this was the only complaint that I had. They did a good job with the installing and the crew worked very hard and they were just excellent. I would use them again and I have recommended them.

Marty (Floorcraft) came highly recommended by a friend/neighbor and I also found very positive reviews here on Angie's List. It was very convenient for Marty to meet me at home with his samples. It was a very easy selection process and he had some good recommendations based on his experience. The installation went extremely smooth ... on schedule and no issues. The carpets have been installed for almost five months and there has not been a single issue. I will absolutely contact Marty for any future carpeting needs.

I had a great experience working with Marty at Floorcraft. I emailed them and heard back almost immediately. We setup a time for Marty to come to my home to show us samples and for him to measure the areas that we would like carpeted. Marty has been in business for over 20 years. He really knew what he was doing. His prices were very reasonable compared to what I looked at at the local Lowes. He knew way more about carpet than the person I spoke with at Lowes. I expected to be upsold on carpet padding but Marty actually said that the 6lb carpet padding was more than sufficient for most residential needs. Marty provided a detailed estimate prior to services and the final billed amount was exactly what he said it would be. Floorcraft's installers were very nice folks who have been installing carpet for a long time. They were respectful of our house and the fact that my wife, 1 year old and dog were living there during the installation. They worked quickly and moved the furniture for us out of the way and back into the rooms. The installers also removed a ton of squeaks from our creaky wood floors so that now we have a very quiet and cozy upper floor, perfect for our growing family. The squeak removal did cost a bit extra, but it was estimated ahead of time and we were charged exactly that estimate. It was more than worth it for us.

We were very pleased with the service we received from Floorcraft. Our move came up rather suddenly, and our schedule was tight. Marty was very responsive to that, and got us onto the schedule us quickly. In addition, he was able to work with our painter, splitting up the removal and installation, so the painters could finish painting before the new carpet was in. He stayed in close communication throughout. The removal/install team did a great job, and left the house looking great. To top it off, they were able to adjust their schedule when the painters finished early, and completed the job a day early!

I contacted Floorcraft to get a price quote and Marty called me back immediately. His price of $2/sq. ft. fit within our budget and was significantly lower than other places we contacted. We had some issues with the current homeowner about being able to get into the home for measuring, and he was always willing to work with whatever schedule we made available to him. He met us right on time for the estimate, did not try to sell us any expensive upgrades (this is a rental property), and worked within the dates we needed. On the day of installation, Max and Julio arrived EXACTLY at the time I requested, and performed a thorough and professional job. The old carpets that had to be removed were extremely dirty and they did a terrific job cleaning up before the installation. They finished slightly ahead of schedule, left everything spotlessly clean and vacuumed, and Marty called us the following day to make sure we were satisfied. The entire experience was a pleasure and I would not hesitate to recommend Floorcraft.
