I received this company as recommended by Angies List and Marty contacted me promptly to see what I needed. I asked him during our phone call and via email if he worked the Dumfries area, as some companies in Northern Virginia do not go that far South. Marty assured me he worked Dumfries and we set up an appointment at my house for today. Two hours before the meeting time and after I had driven 35 miles from my home to this residence needing carpet, Marty cancelled the appointment. Ok, things happen so I called Marty a few hours later and he indicated he really did not have time to meet with me for several personal reason I cared nothing about to hear. In fact, he told me on the phone that he could not help me as he was too busy doing personal and professional things to come meet me. I reminded him that I had originally asked him if he worked Dumfries and he said yes and set up the appointment to meet at my house. I find this type of BS attitude to be unprofessional and frankly quite bush league as a man who alleges he has decades in the carpet business. I will never calling this guy again and I feel like he never had any intention of coming to meet me.

Marty was responsive and helpful ahead of the install, helping me select the right carpet for what I wanted. His team was helpful and performed good quality work. Would definitely recommend.

The work exceeded my expectations. Marty was prompt, easy to work with and had the best price. He provided a better level of carpet at a lower cost than the other two estimates I received. I am very happy with the finished project.

This is the second office location that Marty has replaced flooring for me. He met with me the next day to pick out the flooring that I wanted and started work the following Monday. His crew was professional and did a great job!

Floorcraft got the work scheduled quickly and it looks beautiful. Marty followed up that afternoon to make sure I was happy with the work done. When it's time for me to replace the upstairs carpet, I will definitely be giving Marty a call.

Fantastic job. I called and left a message for Marty Engel, the owner, and he returned my call promptly. I explained I was looking for an estimate for carpet installation and another for wood floor refinishing. We figured out a date for him to stop by. He looked around, took measurements and he showed me carpet samples. I chose a product and he sent me the estimates later that day. We chose to go with only the carpet install only because we decided to wait to refinish the floors until after we redo some bookshelves. When we decide to refinish the wood floors I would be happy to schedule with him. We had the carpet installed a couple weeks later only because of my scheduling conflicts- I think the carpet took less than a week to get in?. Installation went smoothly and Max and the other installer were very nice. I had to leave before the job was finished and I felt comfortable leaving them to finish up and lock the doors after them. They left everything very clean and even fixed a threshold that was too low and wobbly. I would highly recommend!

It went smoothly. Because we have a young child, we don't have a lot of spare time, but Marty, the owner accommodated our schedule by meeting us on a Saturday for an estimate. He was professional, quick, and wasn't trying to oversell anything. The install team was prompt, and everything went as planned.

Super price, fast install and very responsive to questions and concerns. I highly recommend Marty and his company. I got multiple bids and the big guys were crazy high. Marty's price was super and I had confidence based on his years in this business that he will be around to take care of any problems (not likely) that I might have in the future. This was a competitive bid. Floorcraft did previous carpet installation 15 years ago. Also, installed hardwood floor in living room. The carpet installers, Max and Julio, are artists. Everything done well, no damage, and good job of cleaning up.

Marty's team sanded and refinished badly damaged hardwood floors in five rooms plus stairs and hallways in our house. They look like new again! We had a miscommunication over the sheen of the finish which Marty quickly remedied at his own cost. The work was completed in exactly the time stated and the crew cleaned up. There was very little dust in the house when we moved back in. We are really happy with how our hardwood floors look and we would not hesitate to use Floorcraft again for any flooring job.

We had an excellent experience with Marty and Floorcraft. Marty was punctual in scheduling the quote. When he came we asked him to look at the basement floor for carpeting, and the kitchen floor to replace the tiles. Marty listened to our needs and actually talked us into less expensive options for each and explained his reasoning why. We opted to wait on the basement floor since Marty recommended an area rug so we wanted to shop around, but decided to go ahead and have Marty replace the kitchen floor with vinyl tiles. Marty even suggested to lay the tiles in a diamond pattern for something a little different, which was an idea we loved. Less than a week later Marty's staff was here to do the work. Max was nothing but professional in his work. He and the other staff worked incredibly hard to get the floor in and were very precise. Due to the diamond pattern the floor took longer than anticipated, and the workers ended up having to stay at our house until after 10:00pm, when they finished with the grout. Max said he would let the grout dry overnight and would be back again the next morning to finish the work and place the transition strips. This was above and beyond the call since Marty had quoted this as a one day job. The next day Max was slightly delayed in coming to finish the work - but as soon as we reached out to Marty he immediately apologized and explained that Max had been working hard throughout the week and would be at the house as soon as possible. Max arrived shortly after and got right to work finishing the floor and laying the transition strips. The work on the second day took slightly longer than expected, but afterwards Max explained that as he was inspecting the floor he saw small cracks in the grout and thought it was important that he fix the grout - so he redid all the grout on the floor! We felt that this went above and beyond the call of duty since this is not something that we had pointed out to them. It shows that this company takes full credit and responsibility for its work and is passionate about getting the work done right the first time. In addition, even though the job took longer than anticipated and extra work was done, Marty was true to the quote he gave us and did not try to charge us extra. Overall we were thoroughly impressed with the professionalism of Marty and his Floorcraft employees, and we plan on hiring Floorcraft for our future flooring needs. Thank you Marty!

If you're a detail-oriented person who plans to ask questions pertaining to something for which you're about to spend thousands of dollars, I recommend you consider another company. Also, if you're someone who is not already an expert in the hardwood installation business, I recommend you not consider this company either, since Marty gets very irritated when you interrupt him while he drones on with details about which you need clarification before he moves on to the next topic. Any time I tried to ask him ANYTHING he would cut me off and condescendingly say, "Let me finish my sentence/thought" (I can understand maybe talking like that to a colleague, but not a customer!). Meanwhile, he never hesitated to cut me off when I was speaking. And by the way, another reviewer was right, he insists on your husband being there, which didn't bother me too much until I dealt with him in person and realized it's probably because he doesn't get along well with women. If that wasn't bad enough, this was the deal-breaker for me: I followed up with him to discuss my concern about the new wood floor matching our current wood floors and he was irritated with me for being so focused on that since it wouldn't matter. Then I brought up the fact that another company that gave us an estimate strongly recommended against blending the two floors as Marty had recommended because we would be disappointed with the result. Marty then said "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" - some people might notice a big difference and some might not. So, basically, after reassuring us during the estimate it would look good, he now says it depends on the person! If I hadn't questioned him, he would have done it, we likely would have been disappointed, but then it would be too late and he would just say, I told you it wouldn't be perfect! Unbelievable.

Marty and his Floorcraft team were excellent. They were diligent and clearly focused on getting the job done right. They also went the extra mile to fix baseboards and hinges on closets. Marty recommended a cost-effective carpet option, and we feel that the total job cost was competitive with other local providers. The install team was very professional, experienced and detail oriented. I would definitely recommend their services, and would use them again. Quality product and services that inspire confidence that you are getting a great job at a good price.

The service went very well. The crew completed the job in about 1-2 days. The technicians were very nice, efficient and did great work. They were good at cleaning up after themselves and scheduling the service was easy.

I had contacted Marty because of the stellar reviews on Angie's List. I think he and one other contractor were on the page of honor and I contacted him as a result. Marty came within a couple of days to give me an estimate. I needed the job done quickly as I was in the process of getting my home ready for sale. I said I needed the job done quickly and Marty was able to fit me in, in the timeframe I needed. I ordered the most basic good carpet that would appeal to most people and he had it in stock and brought a swatch to the estimate to show me. The estimate itself was on point as I had received another bid from another contractor and I obviously decided to not go with them. The installers (Max and Julio) came on time, were respectful, moved my furniture as needed and were careful with everything. They knocked out the job in a day. I didn't need to do much, just remove wall hangings and things sitting on the floor. I was very pleased with the result as the carpet looks great. In fact, several days before the job, Marty said he didn't have the carpet I ordered and so he said he would give me a better quality carpet at no additional charge. That to me sold me on the fact that this was a great contractor and I knew the job would be done well. I will use them in the future and I recommend them to anyone looking to have their floors upgraded.

This was a fantastic experience. Marty came and reviewed the samples with us and helped guide us through our options. He professionally explained the differences in the products and the different price and quality points. Once we settled on our plan, we put it into action. Everything was delivered exactly when Marty said it would be. We had a very tight window to get the project done while the house was empty between when our renters moved out and we moved in. The installers knocked it out of the park! Even though the install was complicated by a simultaneous kitchen demo and install, Max and his partner came in and did the removal quickly and efficiently, followed by an install that was amazing to watch as they pieced together the floor, carefully selecting the best pieces from the boxes and putting it all together like a puzzle. We ran into some problems... the fireplace has caused the floor to settle unevenly, causing a hump in the floor. This is not a problem with carpet, but a huge problem with hardwood. Max and Marty explained the issue and the options, eventually we decided to do it right and the guys ripped out the sub-floor, shaved down the joist and re-installed the sub-floor to make it perfectly level. While this could have set the project back by a day or even two, Max and his partner redoubled their efforts, working as late as 9 at night to bring us in on schedule. The final result is gorgeous and I am sure that we will enjoy these floors for years to come. Thanks Marty and the Floorcraft Team!

Everything went very well. Marty and his installers are a pleasure to work with. Carlos was the lead on the wood flooring side of things and he did an amazing job with the refinishing and with the new wood install. Mike Hopkins was the lead on the kitchen tile and the new kitchen floor looks like a jewel. The kitchen/mudroom/laundry-room was not a small job but Mike and his crew (Russ and Bobby) got the old flooring removed down to the original subfloor, installed backer board and put down the new tile in a fast and efficient manner. Throughout the process Mike was extremely helpful and detail oriented...and the new tile looks incredible. Once again very happy with Floorcraft and will definitely use them again.

A co-worker recommended Marty. He came out with samples and took a measurement. I was shopping around but he got me a quote for a better price than what I was expecting. I told Marty on a Saturday that I'd like him to the basement carpet. He scheduled it for Monday. His installers were very professional and very thorough. My wife was amazed at the way they worked. I was really impressed when I got to the house after work. I loved what they had done. I'm definitely going to hire Marty for my upstairs carpet as well.
