Description of Work: The first time I used Mr. Shadid to build a new deck was about 15 years ago. I moved to a new house and he is building another deck for us. I am extremely happy with his professionalism and his expertise. I highly recommend him.

Description of Work: A.J. Shadid and his crew replaced the flooring on our backyard deck, including steps leading off the deck and a smaller lower level to the deck. He also replaced the boards on top of the railing. The previous deck was wood; we chose to use a composite to replace the floor because we need this deck to last until we move, which I hope will be many years from now. A.J. was a pleasure to work with. Everything was exactly as promised. He was very helpful as we chose the composite material, and he added some finishing touches that make the deck look new, as opposed to a rehab job. I highly recommend him!

Description of Work: I have a large multi-level deck that was badly in need of repair. Approximately 25 floor boards (20'x6"x2") had to be replaced. The deck has two built in planters that had to be shored up below and as plant roots were causing the planter walls to stretch, they had to be strengthened as well. Additionally one of the long (24') beams supporting the deck arbors had to be replaced. I had three estimates for the job and AJ Shadid (the contractor) was right in the middle. More importantly his assessment of what needed to be done and how he would do it was professional in every way. AJ arrived right on time and he and his equally professional assistant completed the work in two days. The work was extremely well done, all the removed planks were hauled away and I couldn't be more pleased. In addition to the quality of his work, the man is a gentleman as well. I would use him again in a heartbeat and recommend him to anyone needing to have a new deck built or an existing deck repaired.

Description of Work: AJ did another awesome job for us at our new house. He put up a 6 foot privacy fence and a gate. He was professional, prompt and gave us a competitive estimate. He beat all the others and did the work well. Finished in 2 days. First day he set the posts and the second day he and his crew put the boards up. He did the work within 1 week of me contacting him.

Description of Work: AJ built a new deck to our specs from pressure treated wood for our Montgomery County townhouse. 9' high, 252 square feet.

Description of Work: Removed existing 25-year old deck, which was in horrible shape, and replaced it with a new, slightly larger deck built with maintenance-free composite material as well as pressure-treated wood. The deck was designed to be attractive and interesting looking, rather than just a square shape, and had some very nice extra touches such as an extra handrail for added safety and a top rail with a beveled edge.

Description of Work: Completely removed old deck boards, railings, and two sets of stairs and replaced with composite deck materials. Relocated and increased number of deck joists to better support decking. Built new step/platform down from doors accessing the deck in the family room.

Description of Work: Townhouse deck was replaced, storage shed torn down and a section of fence was added.

Description of Work: AJ and his crew tore down our existing deck including the understructure, replaced it and added an attached lower deck with stairs that will be adjacent to a hot tub. They also trimmed down some bushes around the deck and transplanted an azalea bush that needed to be moved.

Description of Work: Put in new deck (over what used to be grass), one gate, 2 steps, removed old fence and installed new fence on 3 sides behind our house. Used Trex deck flooring and pre-treated wood for the fence.
