Mr. Dame's work is perfection. He takes his time and is very meticulous in everything he does. He is very pleasant, friendly, and professional as were his workers. We did have some concerns about him doing the job after he gave us an estimate because he did not contact us in the two week time frame like he had told us. But after his quick response to our email he had the job done in a week. He still has to add a few touches to the job but we feel confident that it will be done. He was willing to do do whatever it takes to make the job right and make sure we were satisfied. We did not realize that there would be a step up to the patio and he is going to solve that for us. So far we are very pleased with the work and would definitely recommend his services to others.

The best part of this was that the task of matching the rest of the original stone facing was impossible. He worked hard to try to match the color by adding tint to the concrete. It looks good. Trying to purchase something that matched the stone from the 1970s would be impossible. He made his own faux stone out of concrete and stain, which was pretty creative work, really.

Jeff and his crew did everything they said they would do. Even went above and beyond what I expected. They took a lot of care in matching the brick work with the house. When he and his crew finished the job they cleaned the work area and took away all debris. My new front steps are beautiful and I know they will last a very long time.

This was a great experience. Jeff Dame, the owner, was not immediately available to do the work but followed up about a month after my initial call. He and his crew then came out a couple of days later and worked all week tearing down an old concrete retaining wall and rebuilding it. In doing so, they had to dismantle an old fence and fight their way through brush, roots, and a huge ancient rose bush. The crew was always friendly and polite - they even helped my daughter carry some heavy boxes into the house during a couple of their breaks. Jeff proposed moving the driveway gate, which had become nearly unusable because of the slant of the old retaining wall. The new placement puts it out of the path of the retaining wall and away from the guttering at the corner of the house. He also redesigned the gate to make it easier to open and more stable. The finished wall and gate are both distinct improvements over the original designs. The retaining wall is now a solid, reinforced structure that should not develop a slant over the years. Jeff even put a facing on the wall to make it more attractive, rather than the bare concrete of the old wall. I had envisioned just a basic replacement, but Jeff exceeded my expectations and kept everything within budget. He and his crew also cleaned everything up well at the end of the job. I would recommend J&D Masonry and Jeff Dame, and would gladly hire him again.

Based on reviews from Angie's List I called J & D Masonry to give me a quote for a brick mailbox. The old mailbox was destroyed by a car that slid off the road during a snowstorm. Jeff returned my call and provided me a quote in a timely manner. He helped us with the brick selection process and gave us some creative options also which we loved. Jeff showed up when he was supposed to, and did an outstanding job. The job site area was cleaned up nicely and the mailbox turned out beautiful.

Although appointments were not kept and the job took longer than expected, the final product was acceptable.

Even though Jeff underestimated the job, he was diligent in the repair work. He said he'd do it for the amount quoted ($800), but I gave him 50% more because he did the job correctly and conscientiously. It took him awhile to move his equipment out of the yard, but I didn't care about that because he was such a good guy and works for a reasonable price. He was FAR cheaper than any of the other estimates I received. I would highly recommend Jeff for any masonry work in the future.

I called Mr. Dame to get a second opinion/price estimate for work I was told by another company that I needed to have done. After asking many questions about the reported problem, age of the house, and type of chimney, he told me that almost every house chimney this age has this problem and that it does not require repairing, but some companies will use this tactic to frighten home owners into repairs they do not need. He offered to come out and inspect it if I desired, but he did not feel it was necessary. I appreciate his honesty and would trust that any work he did say was needed would truly be necessary.

J & D, I think his name is Jim, came out to give me an estimate and decide what to do about my fireplace and chimney. He sounded so knowledgeable and professional. Said he would come out the very next morning to get a better look because he didn't have the appropriate ladder. The next morning I waited and he never showed up. I called and there was no answer. I waited a few more days and called again. At this point he apologized and said he was very busy finishing up another job. I said no problem, how about next week? That was perfect with him, he'd be there Monday morning. Well Monday came and went. He never showed up and never returned any of my calls after that.

I called Jeff mid morning and he stopped by that afternoon to look over what needed to be done. He called that evening with a bid and the job was completed over a couple of days within a week of the bid. He provided some suggestions for maintenance and other improvements.

The project went well and he worked around a planned vacation trip during the project.The team was polite, courteous and accommodating (going the extra mile to be helpful on several occasions). Jeff was helpful offering suggestions and listening. It would have gone a bit faster if he had tried to find a brick to match the house earlier as it required getting the bricks from out of state. He and his crew worked diligently and professionally to complete the job in a reasonable time, on budget, did a very good job and cleaned up afterward. The result looks good and is the asset to our property that we wanted.

Jeff came within several days of calling him. He was unable to come the original start date on a Saturday due to rain. He called and made arrangements to come on Tuesday. He promptly arrived on Tuesday and began laying flagstone near my house along with building new steps into my back yard. He came when he said he would and cleaned up after he and his crew had done the work. Overall the process went very well. I was not able to be at the house when all the work was being done. When I had a question or concern, I called Jeff and he was willing to answer my questions and address my concerns. He also was willing to make a few additional changes as I wanted. When I do some additional stonework, I hope to be able to use Jeff and his crew again.

Jeff was quick to respond to my request for an estimate and was very timely in completing the work. He was very patient with all of my questions and did a great job with the repair. I would highly recommend him!

Jeff and his crew did an outstanding job for us. This is the second job they have dome for us. The previous job was a flagstone patio approximately 12' by 40'. They do beautiful, meticulous work and take great pride in their craftsmanship. We have had several friends and neighbors ask about the quality and service of their work and we recommend them without reservation.

Jeff responded quickly to my estimate request. He was laid back and personable. It took a little while to get him over to do the job, but he came within two days after I called to inquire. He and his crew had the job done in less than a day, left no mess, damage and the job looked great. He even came in about 150.00 below his original estimate. I would highly recommend this company!

Several areas on our patio wall needed stucco repair. We called J&D on Saturday and Jeff was there Sunday afternoon to give us an estimate. We agreed to the service and he and his crew did the repair on the following Tuesday. The repaired areas look great and Jeff gave us several suggestions for other refinements we could do with the wall. We thought the price was a little steep compared to similar work we had done before. However, we would use J&D Masonry again.

I couldn't be more impressed with this guy. His prices were top notch. He stuck with his bid, and did a fabulous job. It was a very difficult job, and he took in on mostly by himself. He was really malicious. He was the best Maison I have ever seen.

I am very pleased overall. Not only did they do what they said they would do, but also went the extra mile in making my wife and I very happy.
