The wall leaked after the first time around and they IMMEDIATELY came back and fixed it, basically re-doing the entire job, explained what had happened (a good explanation). Very clean, friendly, competent. And they stand 100% by their work. I'd hire them again in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: fixed an pipe outside a basement wall that had been "infiltrated" by tree roots. It required knocking out the drywall inside the basement to enable access to the pipe, digging a significant hole about 5 feet deep outside that wall, and then putting a new section of pipe in.

From the moment the workman arrived on time, to the little booties to keep your floor clean, I was impressed. My favorite feature of this company is the three options to your plumbing problem. They also had a Diamond Club which I joined. Which gives you an inspection of all plumbing and recommendations. Haven't done this yet, but having this service is important to a home owner. I thought the price was correct for what had to be done.

He is exceptional. I had a pipe that had burst, and my basement sewer was leaking. They said it was one of 2 things, one that was very costly, and one that was significantly less. They brought a crew in with some special equipment to see where the leak was. They found it, and it ended up being the less costly repair. They completely replaced the pipe. They had to dig up some ground in the back yard, and they cleanded everything up so well that you wouldn't even know that they had been there. They had a special discount they gave me as well for being an Angie's List member.

We really wanted to give Wisler Plumbing an excellent review because Brian Wisler and every worker was very likable, considerate, and courteous. We were impressed with Brian's professionalism when presenting the proposal for our MBR renovation. He provided an itemized list of materials, detailed scope of work, and daily timeline. His quote was in line with the other estimates we received. We appreciated Brian's willingness to accommodate specific design elements we wanted. He offered valuable advise and suggestions in the design process, and spent a considerable amount of time assisting in the selection of fixtures and tile options. However, there were certain issues encountered during the renovation which we felt were not up to the standard of excellence which we expected. The Wisler crew was usually punctual and communicated sufficiently throughout the project. They covered the flooring throughout the work area with a quality protective covering. The demo process went fairly smoothly, except several drywall screws were pushed out of the adjacent hall and closet walls, which was later repaired. They did a satisfactory job with the framing, rough-in plumbing and electrical. The drywall/plaster crew's work was less than satisfactory. They mixed drywall compound in the bedroom (splattering compound on the walls) when they could have mixed the compound in the bathroom where mess was not an issue. In our contract, we specifically requested to skim the walls (with plaster.) They skimmed the walls with drywall compound (softer than plaster); subsequently, every time something bumps into the walls, the compound chips requiring patching and re-painting. We were very impressed with Nathan, the tile installer. He was meticulous, offered experienced advice, and did an excellent job with the tile installation. He even worked through the weekend to maintain the work schedule. The tile looks fantastic and I would highly recommend Nathan for any tile work. We were also impressed with Roanoke Glass, who fabricated and installed the glass shower enclosure and mirrors. We specifically requested obscured tempered glass for the shower, but the wrong glass was ordered. The gentleman from Roanoke Glass was very accommodating; and although his time and material was wasted, he exhibited considerable patience and professionalism. Another issue was that after the tile installation, the existing door frames were 1/2" above the floor. When the original floor tile and underlayment was removed and replaced with Schluter membrane and new tile, it left a very noticeable gap between the tile and door frames. They filled in the gaps with caulk, which was an easy and reasonable remedy...but considering the cost of this project, it doesn't reflect superior quality work. The concerns we had with Wisler's performance was a result of their carelessness and inattention to detail. We don't believe they do inferior work, but they often neglected to follow specifications in the scope of work. The schedule was disregarded near the end, therefore the job was not completed on time (2 weeks over.) To his credit, Brian addressed and attempted to resolve the issues we had to the best of his ability; but some issues (like the drywall compound skimmed walls) could not be repaired. Overall, we are satisfied with the renovation...but there were certainly some unnecessary complications along the way. Although the Wisler crew was very cordial and courteous, we will probably consider other contractors for future projects.

Wisler Plumbing is top-notch. Everyone we worked with was professional, courteous, and skilled. They made a messy and potentially stressful remodel fun. They took great care to keep our home as clean as possible during the project, including our bedroom, which adjoins the bathroom. Brian Wisler was great to work with on the estimating and product selection, and our go-to guy for the project, Steven Brubaker, was wonderful as well. There were a few bumps in the project, which is to be expected when you do a project of this size, and they handled them well and to our satisfaction. I would not hesitate to call them again or to recommend them to others. Great job!

. The Wisler Company removed all the old tub, comode, Vanity, and floor covering. They installed a new therapeutic Tub, new comode, a new Vanity with 2 bowls and marble top. New tile flooring. New lights over vanity. There was old tile on the walls that I did not want removed, so when they put the tub in, they removed what tile that they had to remove, put the tub in and put back the old tile that I want to keep. Did a fantastic job. Cleaned up any excess everyday. I can not rave enough about this company. Very Professional all the way. P.S. - I had 5 contractor to bid on the job. This was the only company that said they could put in the new tub without removing all the tile. & put back what tile was necessary....They are the BEST!!!!

He began opening up walls, leaving an incredible mess! Fortunately a contractor friend was in the area and came over, found the burst pipe and helped get our water back on. When we repiped the closet, Wisler was NOT the plumber to do so. We were even Diamond service holders. Wisler had been at our home several times before and i wouldn't have called them again if it hadn't been an emergency. they cannot come into your home without trying to upsell you on $500 or more of services or gadgets or water products. Never again!
Description of Work: A pipe burst in our front hall closet. Because i knew how to turn off the water main, they did not send anyone out that night. the next morning they sent someone that did not have a clue as to what to do to find the pipe or address the problem.

I liked the job, the cost was 'ball-park' in-line with other estimates, the employees were friendly. My issues with Wisler are as follows. I stayed home one day and took a day of vacation and their employee was a no show. He said he had let me know that he wouldn't be there. That was not the case. The caulking is already cracking where the tub meets the wall. The owner had agreed to come and install another grab bar. He never showed, despite a couple/few contacts. I'll be curious to see if & how they respond to this review. My advice is to find someone else that has more 'follow-thru'. To be honest, our home is maybe 25 miles from their principal area of business. So that may be a reason of no follow-thru. But imho, once you agree to a job and know that there was one detail (additional grab bar) left undone.....pretty tacky to just walk away from a customer. UPDATE: My initial review (see above) gave them a 'B' The company then responded to my review and corrected the above issues. I would absolutely use them again and am sorry that it took a review to get a response. But to their credit they were apologetic and respond they did. VERY professional of them! Kudos!

Description of Work: The first time they came , It was expensive but the person did a really great job and fixed a long term problems we had with flooding in the basement. The second time they came it was another person. My sink had backed up right before Christmas and he fixed it and it was just as expensive as the first time even though the time involved was less. Moreover my sink became clogged within the first two weeks after they came. I have tried to unclog it myself as I have spent about 300.00 with this company. I called them finally to come out again and fix the sink that they had assured me had been fixed. I work all week and the only time I have is from 5-7 or on weekends. They were going to tack on an additional after hours charge in addition to the service call even before they began working on the sink again. And this was a job they had already done in the past and did not work out. So in effect I would pay about 130.00 before they even looked at the sink for which I already paid them well over 100.00 dollars less than one month before. Sorry...I thought they were a good company to deal with but I am beginning to feel otherwise. No I will not call on them again. Beside which I am not sure if they work but when I explained I could not stay home for 4-5 hours waiting for them because I had a job the person answering the phone seemed surprised and said. something to the effect that oh I though you were at home full time....Why? because I am a woman? wow. Well I would wait for them if they wanted me to charge them my going rate for insurance for my clients which is 100.00/ hour. I will charge them 400.00 for the wait for repair and perhaps we will come out even on the exchange. Wow. I was surprised because they were so helpful initially and I thought...great I have finally found a good plumbing service.

Angie?s list was consulted when I was looking for a plumber. With over 40 reviews and a solid "A" rating, there was no question that this contractor was highly regarded. We made an appointment for the 13th of January but they actually had a cancellation and were able to fit me in their schedule 3 days earlier. This was the time of the year where the Arctic Freeze hit Roanoke (around the 5-9th of Jan 2014). We thought we had dodge the bullet but while we were eating dinner, a pipe in the main level bathroom ruptured. Within 2 min or less, we were able to cut off the main water supply to the house and capture most of the water that fell to the floor. As luck would have it, the pipe ruptured with the pressure releasing directly onto the ceiling thus creating a small Quarter Coin size hole in the ceiling. We cut out enough ceiling to discover a clean rupture. Fans were placed in the area and left to dry for a couple of days. Now, Kudos to Mr. Brian Lusk who was the Wisler employee who came out to perform the work. Exceptional skills, very well groomed and presented himself in the upmost professional way. Come to find out he is a 20 year retired Navy personnel and with me being a 38 year retired military person, we hit it off very well. Mr. Lusk took the extra care to mark off and size up the access hole so that an access cover could be used. This was the extra attention to detail that the wife was looking for as she did not want an ugly patch in the ceiling but rather an access panel. Mr. Lusk prepared the site, performed the necessary repairs and cleaned up all the work area. Impressive is that Wisler Plumbing is so high tech that they had credit card readers and GPS to assist them. We reviewed and received beautiful brochures on the Wisler family of services and no doubt we will become a diamond member in the near future. Thank you Mr. Lusk for a superior job done and thank you Chief for your service to our country ....... The United States of America. Veterans like you make all the difference in a company. Exceptional folks like you can only add to the prestige and worth ethos of Wisler Plumbing. Thank you, COL Frank Trevino US Army

first contact by telephone was very professional; return call from dispatcher was prompt, the proposed appointment was reasonably soon. The serviceman called to verify his arrival, and did arrive very close to the promised time. The serviceman was knowledgeable and extremely courteous. The price was not excessive considering the emergency situation. The only criticism I have of the entire experience is the extent of up-selling. Being informed about all of the qualifications and services the company offers was not a problem. Being given a quote for two levels of entire new toilets besides the price for the valve repair seemed a tad heavy-handed. On the other hand, the whole process was low key with no pressure. I would definitely use Wisler again.

Placed a request for service via the internet at 6:00 AM on a Friday. Got an automatically generated acknowledgement immediately, but no followup phone call as promised in the acknowledgement. Called them at 10:00 AM and arranged an appointment for the following Monday. The technician arrived as promised. He said my water heater leak was not repairable (as I expected, due to the age of the tank). The price was more than I had hoped, but after discussion with the technician, I agreed. The technician had a new water heater on the truck and he was able to complete the installation and cleanup in a timely manner.

very professional and knowledgeable young gentleman named James came to my house to give me a quote for installing the gas line and for a return visit to connect the line to my new gas cook top once my kitchen remodeling was ready for this step. James carefully examined my current gas line both inside and outside the house before advising that the line be run directly from the existing gas line in our basement furnace room. This plan involved running a gas line a short distance through a drop ceiling in our basement and drilling a hole through the floor in our kitchen for the line to enter at the back of the cooktop cabinet. While the quote given by James was higher than that received from two other plumbers I contacted, the proposal was clearly the most intelligent design and well worth the additional cost. The other plumbers had proposed running the gas line from outside of our house into the kitchen from an adjacent exterior wall at our deck. This would have created an exposed gas line on our deck. These other plumbers never even considered running the line from an access point inside the house. The gas line installation and connection to the new gas cook top had to be coordinated with my remodeling company. James carefully reviewed their blueprints and contacted their project coordinator to make sure that the cabinet specifications satisfied spatial requirements for the gas line connection to the cook top. They established a schedule for when he would install the line and return for the final connection and everything was completed on schedule and as planned. The job was flawless from start to finish as far as I can tell and I am thoroughly enjoying my new gas cook top.
Description of Work: As part of a complete kitchen remodeling, I converted my cook top from electric to gas. I had Wisler create a new gas line from our main line in the basement furnace room and hook it up to the new gas cook top in the kitchen.

Both times, the plumbers were very careful about not tracking dirt into the house. Especially important during the first visit since the installer had to crawl around in my crawlspace, getting very dirty and wet. Installations were done as promised and then some. While here and waiting on the iron filter to run its first cycle, the filter installer replaced both of my old rusty shower heads with new ones that I provided and installed my ice maker line as a customer courtesy. The only thing that was forgotten was caulking around the lines through the floor for the iron filter, but I can do that myself. The price was inline with what I expected. Overall, I was pleased.
Description of Work: Installed an iron filter on the first visit. Came back to replace a dry-rotted saddle valve on the ice maker line and install a ball valve on the hot water heater on the second visit.
