I got an estimate from them, it actually was for patio repair; still evaluating. I Haven’t had the work done by anybody yet. Still an option. They quoted for patio repair and replacing the sand and ceiling.

His team has now visited twice. After the first fertilization I saw a dramatic difference in my lawn. Weeds died, grass grew greener, and it looked very nice. I am very happy so far, and look forward not only to this years results, but what it looks like this time next year.

I knew that I wanted to re-do the landscape of my front yard, and knew how much I wanted to spend. At the time, that was about it. I contacted about 5 landscaping companies for estimates and ideas. GSU was one of the first companies to respond, and I really felt that they appreciated and wanted to earn my business. I wanted someone who knew what they were doing, and who I could trust to give complete creative freedom to the job. Craig came out to take some measurement and discuss my ideas on the design. You could tell he was very knowledgeable and has a passion for what he does. Not only that, he was very honest and I felt that I could trust him, which is the most important part of selecting a contractor in my book. He wanted to make sure I was getting what I wanted, but he was also not afraid to shoot down an idea of mine, if he felt something else would work better. I definitely welcomed that, and it's why I contacted a professional. We went back and forth by e-mail a few times to put the final touches on the proposal, making sure I was getting everything I wanted within my budget. Once the green light was given, the guys came out and finished everything within just a day or two. I was extremely surprised by the quickness and efficiency at which his guys worked, but at the same time maintaining a high level of quality. When the guys were done, everything was tidied up and cleaned thoroughly. After the project completion, Craig was still very accessible and responsive to any follow up e-mails I had sent. I was so impressed, that I contacted him about 6 months later, and we were able to work out an annual maintenance contract for my yard, again within my desired budget. GSU has been maintaining my yard for the last 2 years or so, and they keep it looking great. The guys usually come by during the week when I'm at work, but if I do see them, they are friendly and courteous. The contract includes mowing, weeding, trimming, as well as mulching, aerating, fertilizing, seeding, and leaf/debris removal. Not only do they keep the yards perfectly manicured, but the lawn itself has vastly improved. You can tell a huge difference in my grass (health, color, thickness) compared side by side to my adjacent neighbors. I highly recommend them!

Craig Attkisson responded promptly and visited my yard to prepare proposal which I felt was very reasonable because I did not want to do the work nor did I have the time. His crew was originally to show up on Wednesday after a previous job and while it ran long and prevented them from working that day, the crew leader stopped by my house to do a walk-thru and to discuss any particular needs we had. They arrived promptly on Thursday and finished the job before lunch. It was professionally done and looked terrific. The beds had not been edged for over ten years, but they were able to follow the outline easily. I had originally thought that not enough mulch had been put down, but after the downpour on the evening of April 25, the mulch was not washed away. I am very pleased with the results.

The job moved very quickly and efficiently. The only issue we had was that we had to wait roughly 3-4 months for our lights. It seemed that every time we picked a light, they were out of stock or discontinued. This happend several times. It was a frustrating process. However, we are very happy with the end result.

I am disappointed because they are telling me they don't service my area but they service the area on both sides of me.

Everything went well and the patio looks great. They have an extremely responsive and professional crew.

It was all good, I was thrilled with what they did for me but it's not been something recent. I liked everything they did, they were on time, they did it on the budget, the whole process went really well and I really had no problems with them. I recommended them to other people.

Green Side Up Landscaping were conscientious and listened to our concerns. I picked a different company to do the work, because the other company proposed some ideas for drainage and erosion control that Green Side Up didn't address. So, that was kind of the tipping factor, that the other company seemed to be a little more attuned as to what was going on. We're on a hillside. I have no quibbles with Green Side Up, I just thought that the other company addressed some concerns that even we hadn't thought about. That's why we went with them.

I have no competing estimates yet.

They were very expensive given the quality of the work. Furthermore, they installed plants that wouldn't survive. The company would replace some of these plants, but it seemed selective as to which plants were under warranty.

I contacted GSU through Angie's List and immediately received a call from Jim within 24 hours of my request. I was looking to do price comparisons with other hard/landscapers in the area. Jim and I worked out a time so he could retrieve a copy of our already completed hard/landscape design. With a few days he worked up some numbers and provided an estimate of what it would cost. The pricing he provided was much lower than the other two contractors we received quotes from. Due to other reasons, we are not getting the patio installed right now, but I will say the initial service GSU provided was top-notch.

The vast majority of the work was completed professionally and was beautifully done. GSU really does an excellent on hardscaping projects and I am always pleased with the results. I believe the project will enhance the value and utility of my home significantly. I would highly recommend talking to Craig (the owner) about any projects you may be considering, as he is very creative and knowledgeable. He was able to realize my initial vision and execute on it very well. The overall quality of the work exceeded my expectations, and GSU performs maintenance on work they've previously done without charge. The only negatives that I can site are the following: - The condition of the site during the work was less than satisfactory. There were often bottles, food wrappers, and other trash strewn about after the day's work was completed. - On a few occasions, the crew left the hose running after the day's work was complete rather than turning it off. - There were a couple of items at the end of the project that weren't completed with the attention to detail I would have expected. The remaining lawn should have been mowed to improve the overall final look of the project, and the sprinkler heads were not correctly positioned to maximize effectiveness. Craig did address the sprinkler positioning upon request after the work was completed. I should mention that none of these negatives outweigh the overall experience with GSU, which was excellent. I am hopeful and confident that GSU will use the feedback to improve their already excellent service in future.

Wanted to re-design parts of landscape for lower maintenance and repair or re-build retaining wall that was falling down (ripped off on that job). Craig came by and we discussed options,likes/dislikes,etc. We agreed that Craig would email me some choices of plants that would work and I would decide which ones I liked. We agreed that day on concept of retaining wall-cheaper to re-build,what colors I liked,etc. It took a while for us to agree on colors and plants,but after making the decision, Craig submitted estimate for all work proposed.Start date occurred in a reasonable amount of time and work was completed in specified time frame.Had one glitch-miscommunication between Craig and me-in that one area of yard was left off estimate and was not done.Craig immediately adjusted the plan and blended new work in beautifully.I was extremely pleased with all the work done--landscaping and hardscaping.Work was done professionally,expertly,and in a timely manner.Craig was delightful to work with and worked with irrigation company to correct problem with retaining wall that occurred after sprinkler installation. As always, Craig and team were extremely helpful and professional. He completed the work on time and on budget, and even kept me in the loop as to progress while I was out of the country on vacation. The difference in the yard is really unbelievable. He has also done beautiful stone work for me in the past which has held up extremely well over time.
