Green Side Up Landscaping was one of three contractors that bid on our job. Craig was prompt for our initial appointment, and had the quote to me the same day. The pricing was fair, and upon checking the company's online reviews we awarded the job to them. Bill reached out to schedule the job, and we stayed in communication over the ensuing weeks to confirm the dates. The crew arrived on time, and were extremely professional and friendly. They were patient with me as I made requests regarding placement of the plants, even moving things when I changed my mind after they had been planted where I initially instructed. I was not initially pleased with the installation of the flagstone path, but Bill came out the next day and agreed to make changes which were completed within one day. I cannot recommend this company any more strongly; they offered fair pricing and lived up to their commitments every step of the way.

We are so happy with Green Side Up Landscaping. All team members are professional, knowledgeable, and so nice to work with! Their customer service is top notch. They communicate regularly with the customer so you always know what to expect. We are doing some additional renovations in our yard this year and are so happy to have GSU Landscaping in charge. From regular lawn maintenance to new plantings, you can not find a better landscape company!

GSU did a wonderful job of installing a large water feature and landscaping the driveway island at our house. It was expensive, but the service was outstanding and the final result is beautiful. I highly recommend this company.

Green Side Up did a wonderful job and I highly recommend them. I had a design already drawn up for new landscaping in the front of our house but needed the plants installed within a fairly short time frame. They were quick to meet with me and quick to install. This is the second time I've used GSU and once again it was a great and positive experience. From Craig and Bill in providing estimate and scheduling for the work to the onsite crew completing the work they all made it easy and did and excellent job from beginning to the end. I claimed a deal for 16 hours of work for $800 off of Angie's list for this company. No response from them, so I called and was told they do not service my area (I'm in Bon Air they are in Glen Allen) I would think anyone located in the greater Richmond area would serve the greater Richmond area, but anyway...The next day a received a message that someone from Green Side up would like to come out and look at my job. I thought hey, they want to tell me how much they can get done for the $800. He came out looked at the job and sent me an email the next day saying they were not the right company for the job, even though the type of work listed in the deal I claimed was the work I needed done, with the exception of some tree trimming.

Craig’s online system for scheduling a quote is the best I’ve seen for any home contractor. And in addition to being highly qualified and very experienced, Craig is a man of rare integrity. He began his assessment of my retaining-wall project by asking about my goals for replacing the wall. After a brief conversation, he said that with a few minor repairs (which I could do myself or have a small contractor do for me), the wall would probably last another 5 yr. He recommended that I not spend the $20,000 - $30,000 to replace the wall, since there’s no way I’d get my money back if I sell my home in the next 1 - 5 yr. In 45+ yr. of dealing with home repairs, I've never before had a contractor give up a substantial amount--let alone $20,000 plus--because his taking on the project would not be in my best interest. In addition to recommending against my wall project, he recommended delaying my grass planting project until fall, when the new grass would not be scorched by high summer temperatures. I’d recommend that those seeking an honest, very competent contractor for a landscaping or hardscaping project give him a call.

Green Side Up determined that the work may not be necessary, thus their honesty saved us a lot of money.

Excellent! The workers were careful to not damage the surrounding area, were punctual, and professional.

They did what was planned well but they also helped trouble shoot where the planned landscape needed tweaking. They helped guide me to make sure the landscape is livable and easy to manage.

The project went very well. Good, healthy plants were installed and the work was done around a school playground with attention to detail in not interfering with our carpools.

They showed up when they said they would. They performed the services in the contract. When I told them about some yard damage they immediately came out and repaired it.
