Came on time. They did everything that we expected. They did not damage the lawn. They did really well.

Company did a great job on my dry creek bed / drainage project. Project Manager was particularly impressive, showing a great work ethic in plus 90 degree temps and carving out plenty of time along the way to answer any questions i had about the project. Good experience

The proposal given called for grading, sod and landscaping around the edge my existing patio as well as the construction of a step from the patio. My back yard had sloping however through the consultation meeting and learning that we have a French drain, Craig was confident they could regrade to flatten out some of my problem areas. The grading ended up never happening and I was given a refund for the dirt needed for the grading but it was still a driving factor on why I needed the project performed. In hindsight, if I knew grading wasn't going to happen I wouldn't have chosen to go with the project so while receiving a refund for the dirt was nice, I'm still disappointed. GSU ended up "smoothing out" the existing dirt around the edge and laying sod over top of it while planting 6 shrubs with mulch laid over top. It looks fine but it definitely didn't blow me away for the price I paid. Issues I've noticed with the craftsmanship: - The mulch bed does not have a crisp edge on them and the mulch leaks into the grass (photo attached). - The sod used was also not that high of quality and already had dry grass within it. I've been watering it every day and it struggling to stay. We'll see what happens (photo attached). I can tell they wanted to do the right thing and make things right but they also seemed to care more about making money than making a quality product. I've seen better craftsmanship in landscaping at a better price.

The representative called me on hour before my scheduled appointment to meet with me and provide an estimate to tell me that my address was too far south and he wouldn’t be providing me making the appointment. He stated that in general, they used route 360 as a boundary line. I live exactly a 3 minute drive South of 360. I spoke with the gentleman on the phone earlier in the week, visited his website and scheduled an appointment per his direction and took time off work. I waisted my time off due to his no-show. If you don’t want my business, fine, but don’t wait an hour before your appointment to cancel. Clearly this company has no regard for a customer’s time

It was easy to make an appointment on their website, and Craig, one of the owners, showed up as scheduled. As promised, he sent me a proposal and estimate the next day that clearly laid out what they proposed to do and the associated costs. The installers were prompt and friendly, and worked hard in the summer heat to get the job done. Bill, another owner, came out few times to check on the work as well. They weren't the lowest bid I received, but given the professionalism and quality of the work, I'm very pleased with the service, and my new patio looks great.

I got an email about 1/2 hour ahead of the appointment to tell me they didn't service my area. I gave them my address when I called the first time!

We love the look of the landscaping and have received lots of compliments on it and passed along the name of this company. We did have 1 plant that was drastically smaller than the others and has not flourished as all the others have done. We have asked that that plant be replaced and told "no". Advice to future customers - LOOK CLOSELY AT EVERY PLANT BEFORE YOU GIVE THE GO AHEAD.

The company's website is top-notch with the ability to schedule an appointment on-line. I received a confirmation email and a reminder email the day before. Mr. Attkisson showed up early and was very professional as he reviewed the work to be done. He stated that he would send me a quote within 24 hours and he did. The quote was very thorough and very well-designed in a PDF file which I printed. I received quotes from 3 different contractors. GSU was not the lowest quote so I decided to go with another contractor but would recommend GSU to others and would consider them again for future landscaping work.

The plants he put in were sickly and half died. He claimed it was because I did not water them or they were sprayed. He also said that the ones next to the sidewalk required extra water. I told him they were fine, it was some of the others. He finally agreed to replace them, at cost, even though they still under his 100% warranty. The plants he replaced them with were even sicker than the first ones and half the size. When I got home from work I found one had at least half the branches broken so I emailed him the same day with that info. It died about 3 months later and he again claimed I had not watered it. In fact I bought a soaked hose just for that plant. At first he refused to do anything but he finally did replace it, again at a charge,

Excellent! We have worked with several firms for maintenance, and requested their assistance in landscape design. No other firm seemed interested or perhaps did not have the expertise. Craig and Billy and their team have been excellent---careful listeners, expert advice and great work. The results are beautiful and have improved our property dramatically. If you are looking for a full-service firm, or just need regular service with attention to detail and follow-up, I recommend that you contact them. Responsive, knowledgeable and thorough.

We received a quote for the cleanup of garden boxes, mulch beds, overgrown weeds, pruning, etc. The quote was reasonable and Craig's professionalism was evident in every aspect of our communication, from a meeting at my house to subsequent emails with questions. Due to circumstances out of his control, the work was not performed by Green Side Up but they are on my list to call in the future for any of our landscaping needs.

Very professional and knowledgeable, and their website made the bid process so clear.

Bill Gallagher, one of the owners of the company, came to my residence to discuss scope of work needed. He was very through with the details and clearly explained the scale of work and materials needed. He suggested ways I could save on expenses with repurposing materials onsite and simply tie new irrigation heads into existing lines. Quality of work and materials used were excellent. They could have used a sod farm located closer to the job site to save on time and money, but chose to use one further away because the quality of the sod was superior. In all instances, communication was prompt and clear. I plan on using them for future work and would recommend Green Side Up Landscaping for any landscaping and lawn care needs.

Excellent from the customer service to the professionalism of the work done. Craig was responsive to my original emails, responding within 24 hours, usually less. Bill was great to work with and kept me informed on the status of the job. Bill was on the job site daily. Their crew was professional and polite. They did great work and I will definitely contact Craig & Bill again.

It was fair. I guess the price was fair. Their punctuality should improve. They promised to do the work and it took them three extra weeks afterwards to finally show up. Other than that, they were very professional and really good. They were good when they got here. They were very fabulous. It was just one crew that went to all the projects and we didn't know that. I would hire them again.

Overall, I was very satisfied with their work. They were very responsive, both by phone/email and in person, professional and performed quality work. My only areas in which I would have liked the job to be improved were cleaning up trash more thoroughly after they left and leaving some of the areas they disturbed (e.g. garden edging, torn up lawn) slightly better. They did those parts at about 90% satisfaction. The were not cheap, and I would have liked one extra charge to not be made after I was already paying them so much, but I do believe they provided top tier service.

From the moment I received the proposal, I knew that these guys were professionals. GSU uses something equivalent to AutoCAD for their designs whereas their competition uses pencil and paper. It made the competition look like amateurs. During the proposal process, GSU didn't try to win my business by telling me what I wanted to hear - they told me what I needed to hear. Specifically, they told me that I needed a proper drainage system in order to get the water from the roof and downspout away from my alternative septic system because my land was "flat as a pancake". The competition had other grandiose ideas that sounded good but were not practical. When the designs and proposals came in, the GSU design was the most elegant and well thought out. Throughout the entire project, I really enjoyed working with these guys. From soup to nuts, they did an excellent job.

They came for a meeting and then they never followed up with us. They didn't ever give us an estimate. They never got back to us at all. They came out for a meeting with us and said they would get back to us and they never gave us any other follow up. The guy was on time for our meeting but he just never followed up with us. It wasn't that they weren't prompt. They were prompt in arriving for that first meeting. They just never followed up.

I met with the owner. She gave me an estimate. We scheduled a date to do the work. The guys were on time. They were very knowledgeable, and did an excellent job. It could not have gone better. Everyone I worked with was so nice. The company is family owned. The price was fair. I have no complaints. I will call them again!

GSU constructed a 16'x16' paver patio that includes a 12' raised, circular fire pit with seat wall (pit itself is approximately 5ft), a path from patio to driveway on side of house, relocation of a tree and landscaping. Project also included low voltage, LED lighting along path and around pit. From start to finish, GSU provided excellent service. From design, recommendations, quality, attention to detail, extra "touches",etc...everything met and exceeded my expectations. Prior to choosing GSU, I consulted with two other companies providing a similar service. GSU stood out in their presentation, explanations and recommendations of the entire project.

The company I use for lawn fertilization does not perform any lawn maintenance, and prior to fall aerating and seeding, they suggested that I have some minor renovation done to certain areas of my yard. Green Side Up was listed as a partner, and after checking out their website and several reviews here, I thought this would be a good company to help me sort out my yard. Craig responded to my request for contact very quickly. Unfortunately, I was not home when he stopped by my house, and I don't think he quite understood what I was looking to have done. I suggested that he come back at a time when we could meet and I could be more explicit. He did return, but again, it was at a time when I was not home and subsequently sent me an email suggesting that he did not think he was the right contractor for the job as his company specializes in property maintenance and outdoor living spaces. I was a bit disappointed and obviously misunderstood the language of the website and some of the smaller jobs that were reviewed here. Updated to respond to comments: my last sentence was written a bit tongue in cheek. I never got the opportunity to actually meet with Craig in person to discuss in detail the extent of what I wanted done with my yard. The two visits occurred when I wasn't home. Based on some reviews that were written, I was certainly under the impression that we could have worked together; however, I will reiterate that the responsiveness was an "A" but my personal overall experience was a "C" based on not having the chance to detail any projects for my yard.

Craig began with a design that was exactly what we had invisioned. He understood our concern with the age of our house (1790) and what we felt was period appropriate. We did have three other bids but felt Craig's design was perfect for our needs. The work was done in a timely manner with exceptional skill and craftsmanship. We are thrilled with our new driveway and will certainly use this company for additional work needed. Job well done!
