Description of Work: After having someone come to my house and learning that I had mold, rusty coils and a crack in a pan, I was quoted a price of between 6000 to 8000 to fix. I called for a 2nd opinion from another company and my father went with this new company to look at the unit. There was no mold in the unit and the new estimate for replacing the unit was substantially lower. I learned from other sources that this is the only company where the people who visit your house receive commissions on sales that they make. Not impressed and not using Woods for sure.

Description of Work: Woods has serviced both air and heat in the past. I had them out to do an annual A/C maintenancec which was fine and reasonable. Said freon was low and put in a small amount. Two weeks after the regular maintenance my A/C stopped working. The fan stopped running in the outside unit. I called, they came on a Saturday and were very prompt. An insect had gotten into the contact and they removed the insect. Checked freon again and said I must have a leak. Went to the attic to look at air handler and said it couldn't be repaired because of the leak- could maybe replace the part but it would cost $2000. Guy came next day and gave me a quote for $5000. I called an independent contractor who said that he could fix the unit. His cost was $212.00. Yes the unit is 13 years old and yes it will need to be replaced at some point but it looks like I am getting another summer out of the unit. I think that Woods does fine routine maintenance but is very expensive for major work. I priced out a replacement gas boiler three years ago and they were twice as much as the contractor I used.

Description of Work: Their advertosement claimed they provided service in my area but after i placed the order, they said they did not work in my county. I had to get a refund and find someone else to do the work.

Even had a coupon from Angie's List for $50 so it didn't cost me more than the $59. He explained everything and was honest. My heat pump and furnace are on borrowed time, but when they do go, I know who I'll call.

Description of Work: I can't say enough good about Woods Family Heating and Air. From start to finish they were a REAL PLEASURE to do business with. Jeff Woods showed up for the HVAC tune-up. During his inspection he uncovered several major problems with my system. He showed and explained the issues to me and gave his recommendations and explained my options from stop-gap repairs all the way to replacing the system. My system was installed with "builder's grade" equipment in 1996 when the house was built and really needed replacing. I chose to replace the gas furnace and the air conditioning unit with Lennox products. The 3 workmen who arrived on install day were on time, professional and efficient. They covered the route from the front-door to the access panel in the bedroom closet with tarps that they taped down to the carpet and wore "shoe covers" over their shoes to keep any outside debris from being tracked into the house. Their demeanor was friendly and respectful. Two days later another workman showed up to clean my air-ducts, which I had requested. Upon checking my vent system, he determined that it was clean and needed no service...no charge for the visit. I highly recommend this company to anyone who desires prompt response, courteous service, and fair pricing.

Description of Work: quick to respond to non-functioning furnace. could not be fixed. not charged to come out. decided on new furnace a couple of days later. unfortunately, the furnace i needed had been sold, had to wait for a couple of days for woods to get a new one in-stock. delivery was first morning after receiving furnace. workers very professional when putting in new furnace. good cleaning job both in and out
