Description of Work: "My air conditioning system failed on Memorial Day weekend while my son and his family were staying at our lake home (my wife and I were out-of-country). | |My son called on Saturday morning of Memorial Day weekend with slim hopes that anyone would respond on a holiday weekend, but they did, and came that afternoon to diagnose the problem, which turned out to be a locked compressor on a 22 year old unit. The amazing thing to me was that they not only responded so quickly (we were not a former customer) but the fee was only $79 on a holiday weekend. | |Next up was a brief conversation with Jeff Bozeman to set up an appointment on-site at my lake house. He showed up within 30 seconds of the appointed time, was extremely professional and patiently explained my options and emailed proposals to me within several hours after our meeting. | |I chose a Daikin system and so far have been extremely pleased with both the performance and extremely low noise level. | |Next, Brian came to take measurements and to ensure that the installers would have all the materials they needed for the install the next day. He too was extremely professional and once again arrived within 30 seconds of the appointed time. | |The day of install arrived and guess what? They arrived right on time. Danny and Nathan were courteous, explained how the job would proceed, were extremely neat, professional, hard working and totally knowledgeable both of the product and installation procedures. They cleaned up and even borrowed our carpet vacuum and things looked better than before they arrived. They also insured that I understood the operation of the new thermostat and safety features of the new Daikin system. | |I'll be recommending this company to all, and I'm extremely pleased to have had the pleasure of conducting business with such a dedicated staff."

Description of Work: Cundiff Heating and Cooling installed the heat pump for the home we had built in 2006. Our unit stopped working July 15,2015 so we called them to check it out. The service was provided and paid for then several months later September 9, 2015 we had to call for service and found the same problem was occurring. When we pointed out we had paid for that same repair just months before the service was not charged to us the second time. Our concern is that the first service did not solve the problem and was only a temporary fix. We are satisfied that the second service tech explained the problem and fixed it . So we have given a B grade overall and a D grade because we had to have the repair done over.

+ 0 moreI have used Cundiff Heating and AC for approximately 5 years for maintenance of my heat pump system. I signed a contract for twice a year service visits for them to check my system in the spring and fall. The technician checks the system outside at the heat pump unit and then checks the air handling unit (in my case the unit is in the attic. The service technician also checks air flow at various points in the hose both upstairs and down. I have never had a problem with the system; with the only problem coming from something another contractor working in the attic caused and was not the fault of any work Cundiff completed). The service contract does seem a bit pricey but you don't pay the whole cost upfront but only 1/2 each time they service your system. And since I have had no problems, it is worth it.
Description of Work: Cundiff conducted a routine servicing of my heat pump for the season.

+ -1 moreThey were at the house for several days and ran into a problem with the boiler- they stayed with it and with the help of OEM tech support and finally identified crossed wires as the problem. Despite the extra time taken, Cundiff stood by its original quote. The workers came on time and were professional, nice guys who didn't mind my questions and always explained where they were when they left for the day. I would be happy to recommend Cundiff. It is very hard to find people who will work on these hot water heating systems and their new installation solved all of the issues I have had with this system from the time we moved into our house almost 20 years ago.
Description of Work: Cundiff installed a new high efficiency gas boiler to replace my old boiler and they replaced my electric hot water tank with a new Rinnai gas-fired tankless hot water system.

+ -1 moreI called Cundiff last Thurs. because my a/c compressor stopped working. They immediately sent Chris over to fix it. After a few minutes and a couple of tests, I was told that either the compressor needed replacing, or to have a new system installed. I got the appropriate estimates from the company and decided that I needed to go with replacing the whole system. An installation date of 8/2/12 at 8:30 AM was set. Imagine my surprise when the technicians arrived at 7:30 ready to go! They have been polite and courteoous as the rest of the Cundiff folks. They came early because it was once again going up into the mid to upper ninties today and wanted to get it done ASAP. This is how they've always been in the 20 years that we've done business with them. They installed a furnace system in one day when the temps were near freezing. They put in our original a/c system in one day - from ducts to all the components! The charges have always been reasonable; and the service great! I wouldn't consider anyone else for my heating/cooling needs.Lee N. Bristor

Description of Work: My AC went out during the heat spell we were having and the folks from Cundiff came out and serviced the unit. Found that the capacitor, a low cost item was out, and suggested that a contact starter be replaced. They showed the parts that needed replacement and the oxide conditions found. They tested the refrigerant and compressor and price was fair for the amount of time the service person put in.

Never nice. Often borderline grumpy. I have done business with them several times in the past but I never had a nice experience in the way they handle customer relation.
