Their service was terrific. They did a wonderful job all around. We had one place that did not hold up, but that is a product matter not a job matter. They did such a wonderful job, cleanly, and communicating while we were not here. We would recommend them to anyone. The job went very smoothly. They are brothers that clearly get alone.

It turned out extremely well. I was very pleased with everything that they did. They estimated originally that it would take up to 4 days and they actually finished the project in 2 days.

We were extremely happy with them. We had no problems. We would use them again.

Their service was okay.

The general manager/sales guy was a very good listener and was very patient. When he prepared the proposal he was very flexible and he didn't mind adding and deleting line items until I was satisfied with the final billed sheet. He was very flexible and they were also very flexible on the dates we needed the house painted. I actually changed the day towards the end and they accommodated me. They showed up on time and it took about 3 1/2 days to paint the house. They did a phenomenal job. I will use them again.

Extremely well. My only MINOR complaint is that I was told on the final day of the job that they'd be there at 7:30 am. I waited until almost 9:45 because there was a point I wanted to clarify with the foreman (who did a splendid job otherwise!!!) when I had to leave because of a work appointment. When I returned home at 1:30 they were almost done and the point I was concerned about had been handled fine. They wrapped up about an hour later. The price was competitive with comparable firms and, in fact, they provided two coats of stain over the entire exterior while the other most competitive quote called for only a single coat. I would happily use CertaPro for any future work and recommend them highly.

Overall, they did good work. Probably the best exterior paint job we've had (though the ultimate proof is years off!). Our home is older and we've had peeling paint and alligatoring because of the different types of paint and lack of adequate preparation in the past. During the estimate I let them know that I was prepared to pay a fair price for proper preparation and good materials resulting in a long lasting job. We arranged to use a special long lasting wood primer and agreed that every reasonable effort would be made to remove all loose paint, and have all wood surfaces properly prepared. Interestingly, Certapro claimed the "Mad Dog" primer would make the job last at least twice as long, though they were not willing to extend their normal warranty. (If I weren't inclined to believe the claim, I wouldn't have paid the extra for the Mad Dog - though it would have been nice if they had enough confidence to extend the warranty.) Here are the pros and cons: Pros: The finished job is perhaps the best we've had in the 20 years we've lived in our home. They did a items that were not in the agreement - fixed a some cracks in concrete, spot glazed basement windows. The crew that did the job were courteous and hard working and mostly experienced. They did a pretty good job of avoiding spills and clean up. Cons: Communication - until I expressed concern, I didn't know when they were going or coming or what the crews expectations were for the progress of the work. It improved after I expressed my concerns, but there were still gaps. I wasn't told that the crew were sub-contractors. Had I known that subs were going to be used, I would have asked to meet with Certapro AND the sub-contractor before the job began. They turned out to be mostly skilled, but there was one fairly inexperienced fellow on the crew, who was rather rough with a pressure washer. There was a tendency to cut corners on the prep work, which is not surprising considering that it is time consuming and the job was sub-contracted. I had to point out that preparation wasn't being done properly on more than one occasion. They were scraping, but were going to just prime over dust, dirt and mildew. Certapro claimed that the primer could handle it even though the preparation instructions for the primer instructed that all surfaces be scraped, washed, sanded, etc. There were a few incidents of them priming over mildew and raised or loose paint - though they did correct most of this when I put it on the job completion "punch list". Bottom Line: Consider using Certapro for exterior painting if you have a straight forward job - first or second paint job on a new house, etc. But if you have an older home that needs attention to certain details, don't hire them unless you're prepared check and to stay on top of things! If I had been more comfortable with their communication and hadn't had to push them on the preparation, they would have been an overall "A".

Work was done very well to begin with. However, there were a few places that did not look satisfactory to me; the job foreman agreed and corrected the problems with no argument or delay. Quote was based on estimate that one coat would be sufficient. Foreman agreed with me that one coat did not hide sufficiently and applied second coat immediately. Company honored original estimate with no mention of extra work required. Very satisfied with final results and price.

Power washer subcontracted to do the work was careless & damaged the cement on the foundation. I still have marks in the concrete where the power washer put too much focused pressure on the house. This damage was not fixed & I was not compensated for this in any way, even though I pointed it out to Certa Pro's franchise owner. He apologized that the house was damaged & said he wouldn't use that contractor again. My husband and I were left with having to do surface repairs to it ourselves. This took several weekends of our free time & a decent bit of $$ for the supplies. I am livid that the company did not fix this for us. Both crews lacked professionalism - the power washer (besides not being good at his job bad mouthed the painters & the painters bad-mouthed the power-washer). Painters left early from the job (before 4pm) every day & this was especially upsetting on the last day of the job when they left before addressing some problem areas (pointed out to workers the previous day) that were not yet fixed to our satisfaction. Owner showed up on a Saturday to collect the balance of the money on the contract even though the job was not yet completed to my satisfactions. The job came with a 2-year warranty, but it was impossible to get Certa Pro to come make good on it. A year later, we had some peeling & it took MONTHS to get them to come back to fix it. In the end, they never did. They don't return calls about warranty work, but they still send me materials asking me to recommend them to people. Talk about a company that doesn't "get it." I would not use this company - ever!

I was very pleased with the quality of their work and their punctuality. They showed up when they said they were going to show up, and delivered a quality job.

My experience was mixed. The company responded to my inquiry and was very professional in that regard. I had a call from the secretary (owner's wife), who gave me the estimator's (owner's) name. The estimator called me to introduce himself and then scheduled an appointment. We talked through my needs and he printed an estimate (which he had to change because he didn't ask about paint color, and I needed a full tinted primer coat). All of this was OK and I felt pretty good about the experience. They scheduled a date to begin painting and then called the day before to change it, which was a little inconvenient since I was living with nothing on walls and furniture piled in the middle of the room, but I guess that's just one of the hazards of painting in the summer. The actual painting experience was a little different. If you step back, the place looks really good but it's the old "devil in the details." Used a tarp they'd had on an exterior job the week before, so it was full of dirt and junk from outdoors which was then all over the house and in the carpet. Brought in a ladder out of the rain and set it on my brand new carpet so I had to clean water and rust stains. Painted in some areas without a tarp so I have small spatters on the carpet and flooring. I found paint cans pushed up against uncovered furniture during the day, and a tarp balled up against my furniture overnight. They did not do any patching before painting (which was part of the contract). Missed a few small areas with primer. Only one coat in some places. Bad coverage in a few places, even with two coats. Missed an out of the way spot entirely. Rolled on a second coat without cutting-in on one wall. Left a "tag" on the ceiling. Didn't paint close enough to a wall outlet so primer coat shows above the top of the outlet cover. I had no problem with them using my stainless steel kitchen sink to wash brushes (it's what I do!) and I gave them permission but then they left a large purple ring on the countertop from a paint can lid. They were in such a hurry to get out of here that we never did the final walk-through they promised. As they were leaving, they told me the company is doing some kind of contest for productivity, which maybe explains the rush and the lack of attention to detail. Throughout the time they were here I felt they were exhausted and just trying to get things done as quickly as possible. I also felt they were maybe a good crew that had been doing exterior work and they didn't transition back to interior work well. They were very nice people and courteous in that regard. Asked permission to play music. Responsive when I would point something out. Now that the experience is over I realize I needed to be more of a job site supervisor than I was. Should have stopped them at the start and made them patch, done a walk-through at the end of each day. I've asked the owner to do a walk-through with me but haven't heard from him.

This was the absolute worst experience with a hired contractor. The job/work was absolutely terrible. 1/2 bath job was incomplete, splotchy, and unprofessional - cuts were not straight and coverage was incomplete. I re-painted this room myself before they could return to the job and re-do. The kitchen job was good (crew supervisor completed this room). Foyer, landing, and hall areas had to be re-painted after I complained about the quality of the job. Painters sent to correct the original job were unpleasant and repeatedly told me that no job "was perfect" and some brush strokes were inevitable because they could not roll everything. Experience was horrible, horrible, horrible. I repeatedly explained my problem and displeasure to the CERTAPRO customer service people - who promised resolution and follow-up - but nothing happened. Terrible experience - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

I'm very pleased with the job. They were on-time, neat, and hard-working. I had been told the job might take up to 3 days. By working from 7 a.m until after 6 p.m they were able to finish in a day. I would definitely use them again.

We were extremely happy with them. They were prompt and neat, as well as being polite. They did a good job, and although I did not compare prices, the person who had given us their name had compared prices and was very pleased. I was extremely happy and would use them again. We have referred other people to them since.

Very well. The painters were careful and had good attention to detail. They showed up promptly and performed the contracted work to excellent professional standards. The job was pricey, but the results were outstanding.

I scheduled a free estimate and the sales person came out promptly and was very professional in the way he presented himself. The estimate was printed out on proposal paper and was very easy to read (no hidden charges). He used a tool to measure the entire space so I know it was accurate. He wasn't just guessing on the size of the area. I chose these guys based on reputation of professionalism. The job was scheduled and completed on time. The painters were courteous and prompt each day. The job was finished on time and on budget. Painters cleaned up after themselves and left the space just like they found it.
