I am very pleased with the overall process from start to finish I LOVE IT. Let's start with Kevin, he came to give me a quote as my house has not been painted in probable 10-15 years I had no idea how much it would be. He explained everything to me took notes of my do it yourself catastrophes and sent me a quote in 3 business days. Once I received the quote, I was pleasantly surprised,as I must of thought alot higher. 3 bedrooms ,1 bathroom, kitchen,dining room, livingroom,hallway, stairway and hand rails. I split the rooms and did 3 different sections. Painters - Maribel and crew were wonderful to work with. Clean, polite, and her husband fixed all my mistakes he is really good with that. Josh- Josh was wonderful also even with all my anxiety he was a pleasure.

Well. Painting was done expeditiously. Only a couple of stains were found on the driveway. Painters were neat and did not get paint on trim, which was not redone.

Highly recommended. The whole process from beginning to end took about a week. They came an surveyed the place, and gave us an estimate right then. We scheduled the job for the next week and the three guys came, were wonderfully efficient, kind, courteous, and accommodated our various family needs without any fuss or problem. They finished the whole job in a day and a half, went over everything with us, and made us feel very comfortable. They cleaned up from their work perfectly. This was a great experience all around!

When we asked Certa-Pro to do the job, we had stipulated we would purchase the paint. The painters arrived on time. We provided the paint. The painters gently suggested we consider painting the ceiling of the porch a ceiling white, and not the color we had chosen to go on the body of the porch. (Certainly they would use whatever color we wanted.) We agreed that the ceiling should be white. They left and went to get the additional paint! After all was said and done, the job met our expectations. The paint was neat, the clean up was excellent, and no droplets of paint!

It was well done. My interaction with them was good. The work turned out good. There were some things that they had to come back and catch up and redo. There were a few doors they had to come back and repaint but they did it.

One painter came out and he didn't take too long.

My overall experience with CertaPro painters was excellent. The initial response to getting an estimate of the work was fast. The owner of the company, Scott, performed the estimate within a day or two of my initial call. Their estimate was very reasonable for the amount of work, and was lower than any of the other contractors that we had contacted. The two painters that worked on our house were nothing short of fantastic! I can say, without any hesitation, that Clint and Rob (the painters) were the most professional, courteous, kind and responsive contractors that I have ever worked with. They were punctual and showed up when the said they would. They answered all of our questions with politeness. If we had any questions about the work they were performing, they answered politely and addressed any issues immediately. The quality of the work was A++. I'm very serious when I say that these two went above and beyond to make sure that the painting was completed with accuracy and to an extremely high standard. I simply cannot say enough about how pleased we were with their work. Our house looks beautiful and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again or recommend them to anyone. The only negative that I would offer about CertaPro is that it was sometimes difficult to get in touch with the owners. They were not as quick as I would have liked in responding to our phone calls. However, once the painters showed up, we were able to contact them directly and didn't need to go through the owners anymore. Excellent, excellent service and work! Overall we were very satisfied. They did exactly what they said that there were going to do in terms of the quality of paint and time frame. The painters showed up on time and finished the job in the time frame they had projected. The quality of work was what we expected. We got three bids and they were the most competitive. We were out of the country when they came and they did the job as we expected.

Didn't paint trim that was discussed very upset when they had to include this. When painting windows and trim did not take measures to keep windows open painted windows shut played h*** getting them open. Painted loovered closet doors only painted one side had to come back to correct and did a have way rush job. When cleaning brushes splatered paint all over side of house,had to come back to correct mess.

I was not treated very well. as I said above. I called them and they said they did not come out this far. I live in Floyd va and there business is in Roanoke va. I got there name from your list. the person acted like they did not need the business. sorry.

Excellent quality except when it came to replacing the screens they took out of my screened porch. One screen came out almost immediately and I had trouble getting them to return my calls. When they finally did come back to fix it, it came out again shortly after. I finally had to go buy different materials and fix it myself.

contract started on time. NO ONE in the work detail spoke fluent English, all spoke Spanish, even the foreman. One worker spoke broken English. Manager came out several times to interpret. First, they got the wrong color stain. Came home and told them not the correct color. Next, they starts staining house without doing the windows first. Then started painting peeling windows WITHOUT scraping them. Just throwing paint on the peeling old paint. It did not appear that the work crew even knew how to paint. I asked no rollers be used, just paintbrushes, as stain seeps into cedar and rollers leave an uneven look. What should have taken a few days took over a week. My husband and I both had to take off work to make sure the house actually got painted. The end result was not pretty. The end of my house looks like a patchwork quilt. Stain should last at LEAST 5 years. It isn't year three and all the railings have peeled off paint and the stain is uneven to say the least.. The patchwork quilt still exists. my house will have to be re-stained by next spring. The Manager called me in April 2013 after I complained to the Better Business Bureau, came out and said if I removed the complaint, he would fix the end of the house and repaint the railings. He called twice and set up times to do the work. Never showed up, Never called. Never has done one thing to make this right. August 2013 Manager of certa pro sent a notice to me thru the BBB that he would fix the rails and part of the uneven patchwork stain work if I would remove my negative comments from Angie's list - I refused I would suggest that no one use this company. their work was atrocious. they were not the lowest bid either. It was one of the WORST experiences of my life.

Bottom Line: They applied Latex paint over an Oil Base Paint . Painting 101 states that you NEVER put Latex Paint over an Oil Based Paint without preparation. This mistake was done by the actual owner of the Certa Pro Franchise - Mr. Flemming. I had been deployed for the last year and returned home and needed to finish up a newly remodeled recreation room. The area to be painted was a new and fresh basement / recreation room. Mr. Flemming (Certa Pro Franchise Owner) himself came out, made an inspection and the colors selected and contract made. Within the next 10 days, the painters arrived and began to paint the walls and trim. Theses were new walls and they used a tinted primer which was the exact color of the final paint color we picked. They missed so many areas with the paint as the painters could not tell what was primer and what was paint. The white trim and doors were original Oil Based Paint and THEY USED LATEX PAINT OVER OIL BASED PAINT without performing any primer or prep work to the existing oil based paint. The latex trim paint over the Oil Based Paint was easily flaked off with a light fingernail pressure. They came back and applied Glidden Grabber primer over the LATEX paint that was the already painted over OIL BASED paint. The doors and trim were painted at least another three times. In the end my doors look lousy as they appear to have 10 coats of paint on them losing fine detail. The baseboard trim was all replace at my own expense at the cost of $485.00 for the work. I even called Mr. Volp (the CERTA PRO Develpment and General Manager) who said that he would personally assure me that everything would be made right. Well, I never did get a call back by Mr. Flemming or Mr. Volp. I would be very VERY careful in choosing Certa Pro. 3 July 2013: After this intial posting on Angies List I was contacted by Mr. Fleming of Certapro. He emailed me and stated that he was willing to refund me the cost of the job (approx $1653) if I retracted the Angies List posting. Well, you know that didn?t sit well .............................so I filed a small claims action. A small claim court hearing was held on 3 July 2013 and the ruling was that the 2 year warranty period had expired. There was no remedy to this error of Latex Paint over Oil Based Paint and was ruled in favor of Certapro by the default of an expired warranty. Mr. Fleming in open court acknowledges that he was the responsible party for the mistake. The Judge agreed that the work was substandard and she would not be happy with the work as well. Also that I was entitled to post on Angies List or anywhere else of my experience with a contactor. Bottom Line: I believe a person has the right to post their findings on Angies List or anywhere else in a venue that allows contractors to be evaluated. For Mr. Fleming to offer me a refund if I took down my posting was not going to happen on my watch. Like the comercial says: " I love you Angie............... sorry honey. "

I think they are very professional. They are very careful with our things and cleared the room in order to paint the wall. They are brothers and they did a terrific work quickly. They were here for days due to the extent of it. I am very impressed all around about how well they did any of the tasks we asked of them from painting, washing to moving furniture and putting it back. They answered everything we asked.

This company did work for me several years ago and I was please with them except for the painter being in a hurry the last day and not doing as good a job as he should have on my kitchen cabinets. He also liked to talk way too much. Later I wanted another job done and got an estimate but could not afford the cost and informed Certa Pro. They were quite insistant for a while but finally gave up - if you can't afford it you can't afford it! Also, I was informed the former "painter" was no longer with them.

As above-- sloppy job. Wouldn't use them again.

Owner came out to give the quote, decided to hire them to complete the work. Crew arrived and worked tirelessly to paint every room in the home except the kitchen. The crew was extremely professional, and extremely personable. They went about completing each room to my satisfaction. Best crew that I have ever had working at my home. The work was completed within 4 days, which was great. My only concern was the cleanup of small areas of paint marks on the floor, but this was minor.

Except for the problem with the deck the work and clean up was very good. When I brought concerns to the attention to the crew, they were addressed immediately. The crew is trustworthy and handled themselves very professionally. I was impressed on the follow up with the problem we had with the deck. I was afraid I would never see them again and we would have to repaint the deck ourselves. They kept their word and completed the work. We have not had any problems with the deck and it looks so much better.

I would give them a “B” grade as I still have some paint on my floor, evidently the drop cloths did not cover everything, plus there was some running on the ends of doors. They were fairly clean and very courteous. I wanted them to paint, or rather stain my front door but after calling and leaving messages I gave up and got someone else. I need to have more painting done and would probably use them again as I felt the price was right.

It took quite a while to get the job done. They came and did the initial work. It took a while to get them to come back and pain the metal doors. I was not happy with the kind of work that they did. I would not recommend them. I would not use them again and I have not used them again. I had interior work done. I think they are a reputable company nationwide, but I am not happy with the local franchise.

They were really nice to work with. They were very professional. We would hire them again.

Their service was terrific. They did a wonderful job all around. We had one place that did not hold up, but that is a product matter not a job matter. They did such a wonderful job, cleanly, and communicating while we were not here. We would recommend them to anyone. The job went very smoothly. They are brothers that clearly get alone.
