very responsive to calls, showed up on time with plenty of people to complete the work, let me know what we going on (ex: too much rain to plant new plants which was legit), kept me up to date on progress, and the work was done really well! So pleased! A bunch of my neighbors now want estimates, based on the work they've seen done. I will have these guys back every year to do maintenance!

We were very happy with this contractor. Our main contact, Lupe, did a great job understanding our overall vision, and filling in the details with his own while carefully coordinating with us. His staff were hard-working and respectful. Lupe was present with his staff throughout the job, and himself did, or closely oversaw, everything but the "basic" cleanup tasks. He is energetic, talented, detail-oriented, and communicative. The overall effect was to completely transform the rear of the house and the backyard - other landscape/lawn maintenance professionals working in neighbors' yards have remarked on the very professional outcome. The patio in particular is beautiful. His outfit deserves all the high marks shown. I rated a "B" for price only because his final bills tended to slightly exceed (<10%) his original estimates. He did, however, offer to demolish and haul away our sidewalk as a part of the clean-up, a task that was a significant "line-item" in a competing quote. Lupe and his staff will be the people I call next time I need landscaping help. I recommend them highly to you, and will do so verbally to any neighbors that ask .

We were extremely happy with the work Lupe and his company did. Within a couple of days of contacting him, Lupe inspected our existing backyard and came up with a design. He worked with us to find out our preferences, and chose plants accordingly. He and his employees arrived on the scheduled day and time and had the installation completed in a couple of days. While this work was going on, we decided to add more landscape lighting; he was flexible, and incorporated these too. He and his employees were thorough, courteous, and dependable. We have recommended his company to a number of our friends who are happy with his work too.

Lupe responded to request for a quote in a timely manner, kept me informed of schedule change, and arrived promptly. Word was done well within the estimated time and they did a very nice job. I'll have him back later for another project.

Ok so this is an update on my review below. I finally heard from Lupe...He did apologize and said he had to go out of town urgently which is why he did not respond to my inquiries...I still wish he would have at least left me a message...he did provide me an estimate for work which was very reasonable and in line with other estimates we have received...a little hesitant to use him given the issues with communication...but he did get back to me eventually and provided a competitive estimate for the work. Previous review: Seems like I have had similar experience to others. Contacted Lupe via Angie'slist and he responded right away and set up and appt and came on time and seemed very attentive to my questions and he offered some opinions to the project. But then I never heard back from him. He said it would take a week to work up a proposal and he would be in touch. 10 days later I had not heard back and I sent him a message via Angie's list as I had done before and again left my contact info and several days later still no response, I called and left message and no response and 3-4 days later left another message on Angie'slist and no response. Not sure what's going on but has been almost a month since initial contact and silence on the other end so had to move forward with another contractor.

Everything went very well from beginning to end. Lupe started on time and arrived at my home on time each morning with his workers. I absolutely loved how it turned out and and have had many compliments on the look and how well it was done. I also had pounding of water in the backyard but Lupe said he would solve that problem too and with all the rain we have had, it appears he has done just that.

They did a great job and we were very pleased.

Gave estimate one day, started next morning at 8 am. Very pleasant workers and they knew their craft.

Called and was able to come out the same day to give estimate. Started work as soon as Miss Utility marked yard. Completely landscaped and did improvements on retaining wall all in one day. Very impresses with workmanship and professionalism. Would highly recommend using Willow Landscaping. I will be using them again in the near future. The owner, lupe Hernandez, was so helpful in designing the the landscape. Great job. I now love my yard again!!

Fantastic! WIllow Landscaping came out and gave great ideas for our front yard and his bid was reasonable. He came back early the next morning with his crew and started tearing out all of the old bushes. Within 4 hours, I had a completely new look. I couldn't be happier. I have had neighbors compliment the work and I even saw someone drive by and take a picture of my house! Money well spent.

I am so pleased with Mr. Jose Hernandez. He is just awesome. I like his ideas, his attention to detail and the young man working with him. I have him maintain my yard on a weekly basis. I don’t know if you have A plus plus plus but that’s what I will give Willow Landscaping.

Lupe Hernandez was an absolute pleasure to deal with. From start to finish he was professional and punctual. There were a couple of rainy days he was unable to work on the project which was completely out of his control; Lupe and his crew made up for lost time immediately after the rainy days. We were unsure of exactly what we wanted at the beginning, however we did provide preferred color schemes. Lupe dreamed up a beautiful landscape design with various sizes, shapes and colors perfect for our zone and soil. He selected a rounded layout with fabulous colors and has turned our depressed square yard into a backyard oasis!!! We LOVE walking in our new thick grassy yard in bare feet now to play with the dogs and love on our flowers (maybe I will have a green thumb after all!). Can't believe I almost forgot to mention the hassle-free irrigation system Lupe installed!! We heard horror stories about people with newly installed sod and their struggles to keep the sod wet enough for the grass to survive; without water sod dies.. and so does your investment. Lupe engineered our irrigation system to cover the new sod and most of our plants. We don't ever struggle with our grass, we simply get to enjoy it. Lupe is a true landscape artist with an eye for detail; we would without a doubt return to him for future projects and recommend him to others.

They did a good job on the yard and charged a reasonable rate. My rating is because when I emailed them to do some work this spring I got an immediate response and then replied back and heard nothing. We waited almost a month and called back and left a message and we have still heard nothing. I have additional work but I cannot get this company to return a phone call and I need the work done so I am moving on to another company.

This began as a positive experience. Lupe responded quickly to my inquiry and came out to review the scope of work with me and got back to me with a quote the same day. The day the work was scheduled his crew came out on time and worked very hard. The yard looked greatly improved. Unfortunately, his crew decided to dump the debris from the clean up in our woods. That area is left in its natural state...wooded and overgrown. The leaves are never cleaned out from that area on the property, but it's not a trash heap. When Lupe came by to check on the workers my wife complained about it and Lupe had his crew clean up their mess, but not before stating that leaves were already there. My wife also pointed out that the beds were not completely cleaned out. He stated that what they left was a natural ground cover. My wife agreed it was, but that the workers removed another, more attractive ground cover and left this one when all of it was supposed to be gone. Lupe said he wanted to make us happy and he would have his crew remove it. The crew was also aerating and seeding as they were losing the daylight and we wondered if they could complete it well. At this point we went out for a leisurely dinner. When we returned, we found Lupe sitting in the dark in his truck at 8:30 p.m. wanting to be paid. I politely told him that it was dark and I was unable to see that all the work was complete and to please come back in the morning (Saturday) after 9:00 and I would be happy to pay him. He agreed, but then later that night texted me that he would be by at 8:00 a.m. to get his money. It was necessary to tell him more than once I would not be available until after 9:00. The next morning I could see that Lupe had his crew fix things the way we discussed. I was pleased, thanked him and paid him in cash. I also asked him to get me a quote for weekly yard maintenance. Some neighbors immediately hired Lupe as a result of us referring him after they saw the improvement in our yard. Lupe did not thank us for the referral. Not that we really cared, but it speaks to the professionalism issue here. Lupe gave us a quote for $300 a month for yard service for one year that included weed control, fertilization, fall aeration and seeding, and fall leaf removal. This was pricey even though our yard is on the large side, but I was pleased with his initial work. Because we are selling our home shortly I told him I only needed service for three months. He replied the fee was the same for only three months. The first time his crew mowed they avoided some daffodils that had not yet bloomed until we left the house. While we were gone his guys mowed them all down. The following week his crew did not show up and I didn't hear anything from Lupe. When I emailed to tell him these things I received a three minute voice mail rant from him in response. His voice mail began with "You listen up and you listen good." While he said he was sorry about the flowers and offered to replace them, he seemed to think it was no big deal because he could "give your wife new ones". He also stated his crew did show up the following week, but left because our tile installer was in the yard with equipment. (It was one guy with one saw who would have moved long enough for them to mow as my wife had arranged it. But his crew never bothered to come to the door and Lupe didn't touch base to explain or attempt to reschedule.) Lupe also stated "I don't make no money from this mowing" and "don't text me all this stuff?I don't want these messages from you" and that he considered them a "headache". His harangue was stunning. This is not simply a language barrier issue. It's a professionalism issue. While Lupe's crew does good work, it appears that they need to be closely supervised at all times. Lupe does obviously does not appreciate communication regarding legitimate issues with his crew's performance. My email was cordial and factual. No business should have a problem with that kind of feedback. I cannot in good conscience recommend Lupe and his company, because despite the improvement in my yard's appearance the lack of professionalism is unacceptable. I'm happy to share my email thread and his voice mail with anyone.

AWESOME JOB!!! Look no further for a landscaping company, just give Lupe with Willow Landscaping a call and get started. We bought this house 3 months ago and the front yard landscaping was an overgrown mess, sort of jungle-like!! After reading reviews on Angie's list, I contacted Lupe. The next day he showed up, on time, for a consultation. The day after, I had a plan and cost estimate in hand. Once started, the work was complete in 1 1/2 days as he had stated, and it looks beautiful!!! Very pleased. He and his crew are prompt, professional, and meticulous with the clean up.
