Pella Windows & Doors

They were pretty good. They were on time and professional. They also cleaned up after themselves. They did a good job.

I have called Tim Duncan and the service department with no response whatsoever. It has been around 5 weeks and I got someone else to fix the problem. They just got the sale, they did not follow up or anything.

I called them to get an estimate over the phone to get a new door. They did not want to provide an estimate without doing an onsite visual. I told them, I don't have time for that, I need the door now. Their policy and lack of inventory would not let them help me further. I went to their store location. I finally asked for an appointment. No one called or showed up. I called customer service and left messages that I learned months later, went to a different office in a different city 60 miles away and were not monitored. I found that out when they finally returned my calls and apologized for the inconvenience. By that time, I had already replaced my door with the same brand, but through a box store at a discounted price. I still had to have someone come to my house to scope the job and I had to wait 6 weeks to have the door made and ship. I believe an entire house can be made in 6 weeks. It is unacceptable to have to wait that long for a door. It was not like we were in the middle of a housing boom. Later in the process of remodeling, I decided to downsize a window; I had to go through the same process to purchase the window. I had to wait weeks. It arrived damaged. Never took it home. I reordered it and it arrived damaged again and had to reorder it again. Finally, after several months, I received it in installable condition. You ask if I would do business with this company again, the answer is, no, not with that store, but unfortunately with Pella I will as most other window and door companies will not work with me on one window installed by me. It is pretty sad that America cannot make a window or a door in less than 4 to 6 weeks. I guess everybody is employed. I guess profits and dividends outweigh jobs and customer service. Pella has an attitude, after they delivered my window damaged the second time, they did not want to replace again. The box store that I purchased it through had to haggle with them to get it done. This Item never left the store and was opened by me in the store. The box had no visible damage.

Sales person was on time and very thorough. Provide samples and a demonstration of the products. He also provided a total estimate. When asked for a per window cost, he did not have that. He stated that if I were to take the total cost and divided it by the number of windows, that would yield the per window cost. Not sure if the formula would work knowing that there were windows of different sizes (i.e. picture and bay windows) and types. The warranty wasn't as clear and they offered no discounts.

Horrible experience. We have pella windows throughout our home. One on them was broken by a Lawnmower throwing a rock. I have been trying to get a unresponsive company to return my calls and give me an estimate for over a month. finally they send me an estimate for the wrong window. another 3 weeks have passed and I have not had one person from pella take any initiative to get this done. I contacted corporate headquarters and still, no resolution. They have good products but pray that you never need service.

They were quick, professional, did a good job, cleaned up afterwards, and addressed some issues with my house to make everything fit perfectly. It took them longer than it was supposed to, because of structural issues with my house, and they even had to do some things to make the windows fit properly. The windows work great, the sales staff and installation crew were great, and professional. Everything went good, great, and the price was good, too.

I called for an estimate for standard double hung window replacement and was told I have to wait for a sales person to call me back.I stated I was ready to go forward I just needed a price, I have not received a return call so now I am waiting for Window World to come to my home Saturday April 7, and I already know the approximate price from their website, Pella however gives no price not even (*starting at) says to contact showroom to speak with a sales rep. still waiting for that call. I know what I want all I need is a estimate to move forward, if you will not give a price there is usually a reason.

They were really good. They were professional and the door that was replaced was superb.

Very responsive. Sent repair technician the day I called. Conducted the repair and tested to ensure proper functioning. Very professional company that stands behind their product.

On August 2, 2011, our townhouse maintenance broke our storm door when the weed wacker kicked a rock up on the storm door and shattered the glass. The lawn maintenance company asked us to provide an estimate to replace that door through Pella. We called our sales representative George Nemeth who did not want to be bothered and he referred us to someone that was supposed to have been able to help with getting an estimate. We spoke with Theresa Abernathy and was told once we gave her the serial number from our storm door she would email us the estimate. Several days passed and we still did not have an estimate. We never heard anything back from Ms. Abernathy. We called Pella's local number as well as their toll free number and was met with nothing but resistance. We were told that I should go to my local Lowes or the Pella showroom to get the estimate. I went to my local Lowes and the manager was baffled as why Pella would send us to them for an estimate when all they needed to do was to pull our detailed contract from a couple of months ago. It is as if they are afraid of competition that they do not want to give out any estimates. On, August 5, 2011, my husband and I went to the Pella showroom on North Parham Road and once again tried to get an estimate. We were greeted by a temp employee through Kelly Staffing Services and explained the situation and she made a valiant effort to get this issue resolved. She called several people and got nowhere. The temp told us that she was there because four people up an quit. My husband and I decided that we would play their game and we would pretend that we were first time customers and scheduled an in home consult. I knew that since they were only interested in money and not the aftercare of their product they would come out to our home. When I set up the consult appointment I told them that I was interested in replacing five windows and four doors. This is not true, as we are only going to replace the storm door that was broken. So, in essence they have wasted my time and I shall waste theirs.

From the initial visit for the estimate, the experience went very well. Even though the price seemed a little high, they were willing to offer several financing options, and a discount for paying cash. The workers were prompt, efficient, very personable, and capable. They cleaned up so well that I couldn't tell they had ever been there. I would definitely use them again.

Two men installed the windows in under 3 hours. The quoted installation cost of $900 is exorbitant, but the total cost of the job was cheaper than Renewal by Andersen for the two window replacement. Both Pella and Andersen have high reputations. The salesperson for Andersen (Bill Johnson) was the more knowledgeable.

This is the 3rd time we have used Pella. We are really happy with them. Their quality is great. They are on time and do a good job with the installation. They came and did an estimate. The salesman said one part of our wall panel would have to be removed for the installation. It turned out the installation team was able to work around the area and we did not have to remove anything. We were really happy with their work.

They are very professional and timely.

They are outstanding. Their craftsmanship and quality of work is outstanding. It is a quality product. We used them years ago to do our windows.

From the initial consultation with the Pella rep to the contractor, all went well. Minor problems with the installation were promptly remedied by the contractor.

They were very attentive to making everything work. For example, the concrete slab was not level. They had a manager come out and talk to me about what they could do to make the door look right and work right. It was a matter of adjusting the trim at the bottom of the door a little bit. But they did a very good job on it. But they asked my permission first. They just didn't assume and do as they pleased. They didn't just assume their solution would be acceptable to me. They presented it to me. In truth, I don't know what else anyone could have done. But it was nice they discussed it with me. Because they are installing a product they sell, they very much want to please the customer. They will do everything they can to please the customer.

I did a LOT of research and acquired 7 estimates from different companies. Pella was the best price, best warranty, best service. I sent in a request for an estimate online and received a call back within 24 hours to schedule an appointment when it was convenient for me. The sales person was very nice and was incredibly helpful in working with my limited budget. He followed up a lot. When the job was given to Pella they were quick to send all the information I needed for a contract and what I needed to do. They sent someone out for an inspection and then the job was scheduled within 2 weeks. It was all very quick but very thorough. The day before service I received a call to confirm the project and instructions on what I needed to do to prepare. The workmen (two of them) arrived on time the day of service - they were incredibly nice and very professional. My house is VERY small and they were quite good about being careful around my furniture. They worked fast and efficiently. The job was done so well and much faster than I'd expected. The workmen were so nice! I received a call from Pella the next day asking how it went and the woman was helpful in providing her contact information in case I had any problems or questions. I would DEFINITELY hire Pella again. Without a doubt.

Everything went very well. We were very satisfied. The sales person was extremely educational and not pushy. There was some question about how we were going to do one of the windows so the manager actually came out and re-measured. The people who did the installation were quite skilled and were very pleasant. They cleaned up after themselves. They were top notch. We would use them again in the future if we needed to for any other work.

They were terrible. I had to call them back several times to clarify things on the quote because they didn?t get the specifications correct. And they were very poor at returning phone calls--I never knew when or even if they would call back. Once, the secretary who handles incoming calls answered another call but made some mistake and I could hear the other conversation--I heard her curse someone else and then apparently hang-up on them. So then I started researching the product and company more thoroughly. It seemed that about 95 percent of the remarks I found via the internet about the actual product and the service from the company were poor. So, I began to look elsewhere for my doors. I would not use their services or product in the future.

It went very good except for one problem. The windows went in fine and all of that, but they have semi-gloss paint that can't be stained over. They stained over it for some reason and it shouldn't have been painted. They were going to come and fix it, but they haven't yet. Besides that, the prices were good and they did a good job with the installation.

They were right on top and showed right up when I called them. The windows were custom made, so, it took a little longer than usual. They were punctual and very clean. The windows are top of the line, so, I am getting what I am paying for.

I don't think there is a grade high enough to represent how much I loved them. They were awesome. It was a big job and it cost a small fortune, but they made me happy to spend my money. Everyone was the salesman to the installers were fantastic.

We love our Anderson Windows. They save us energy, too, and were put in so securely and snugly. We really liked this company. If we had to do it all over again, we would surely use them. They are probably the best in the business and their work is incredible. Others may want to know that their windows are so easy to keep clean too.

The end result was fine. The installation was OK, but there was a problem with one of the windows they installed. It took over a month for them to resolve it, although the problem itself was not particularly serious. The end result was fine though. I am very pleased with the windows, and they blend in perfectly with the house.
