Neat Sweep

I used Neat Sweep to clean my chimney in 2013, using the Angie's List deal for $89. The services were performed well & promptly & everything was reported to be in good working condition. I received several calls throughout the year to schedule again & did so at the end of the winter in 2014. They matched the same price for 2013 of $89. This time, the technician reports that my chimney has broken tiles which will cost $5,000 to repair...no pictures, no proof, no explanation of what happened, no less expensive alternatives. And since that quote was offered, this company calls me DAILY to ask when I plan to schedule. I've repeated asked them to quit calling me, but my requests are ignored. I have even started blocking their calls but then they will call from different extensions. I will not spend that sort of money without some visual evidence (that they are unable to provide) & a second independent evaluation. Their overly aggressive hounding will not make me a repeat customer again.

They did a nice job. I think they're very knowledgeable. They just didn't leave any mess at all. It was a good price and very competitive. Everything else is good.

The serviceman arrived in uniform at the established time. He was courteous and professional. The work area was left clean and free of debris. Low pressure suggestions along with estimates were made for future work.

They were 10-15 minutes late, but once they arrived they were efficient and thorough. Recommended we do a cleaning, which we will hire them to do down the road.

John was the tech they sent out to clean and inspect our chimney. when we first bought the house we were told it was unusable, two years ago we had a master stonemason advise us that there was nothing wrong with the chimney. so after four years of non-use we've made it up for not using it these past couple of years. subsequently we thought we should have it cleaned as a result. John was on time, friendly and considerate of our home furnishings. he took his time and was thorough with the review and made some suggestions on maintenance items that were needed to keep the chimney in good working order. he didn't try to hard-sell, was just straight forward and honest. we'll definitely get the work done through this company and continue to use them in the future.

They were fine. They were efficient, punctual, and professional.

Very professional. We bought a fifty year old house with two fireplaces. Uncomfortable with potential chimney dangers, we found this company on the list and engaged them to come clean/inspect. On finding that the one fireplace had never been used, the technician reduced our charges accordingly.

I was given a price of over $2000 for cleaning and pointing two fireplaces, which came down to $1600 just by a look on my face, then down to $1200 when I expressed skepticism. But this was outrageously high for the work done, too. I was assured the work would stop my fireplaces from smoking, but it didn't. I think I was scammed. Avoid.

It has gone well. We haven't used our fireplace. They came out, looked at it and said that we haven't been using it very much. We said no and they said that we don’t need them. I thought that was really truly honest. He could have gone down there and done some sweeping. I liked his honesty. We have used them since. I would recommend them. They did a good and clean job. It's once a year. The next time they came they said that we didn’t need it. The price must have been good. With regard to quality, we wouldn’t have had them out again unless it was good. Their responsiveness was good.

I needed a dumpster to be placed at my house so that I could throw away about 10 years of accumulated junk in my basement and attic. Based on reviews on Angie?s List I called Neat Sweep. I explained that my driveway was steep and I needed the dumpster placed at the bottom of it since the HOA would not allow a dumpster on the street. Neat Sweep said it should be no issue and promised that if the dumpster could not be placed where I wanted it that there would be no charge for the attempted delivery. Next day I came home to a perfectly placed dumpster at the bottom of my driveway. The dumpster was not as large as I wanted but that was my fault since I was told the exact size of the dumpster. Dumpster delivery was $79 dollars and each dump would be $179. When I called Neat Sweep to remove the dumpster once I had it full and was done they picked it up the next day when no issues. I was very pleased with Neat Sweeps service and would recommend them and use them again.

Clean, professional and gave good advice

I have non-venting gas logs so I didn't actually need to have anything done. Nonetheless, they showed me how to use the logs, explained how everything works, and gave safety instructions. Definitely made me feel more comfortable using the fireplace because I had never dealt with this kind of gas logs before.

That turned out fine. Just one cleaner came out and stayed for about an hour. He did a good job cleaning and made some suggestions for some chimney repair that would cost $500. They wanted to sell me a fireback. I was able to find a cheeper solution for the repairs online.

Recommended $3000 repair of cracked tiles in upper chimney. I know 3 building contractors who all said I didn't really need to repair the tiles because there are 3 masonry layers and no wood structure anywhere near the top of the chimney. All wood for burning is contained within the wood stove. I elected to not have the work done but I'm not reporting this as a complaint because I'm sure they are required to recommend repairs.

Good price, prompt service, no problems whatsoever.

I contacted Neat Sweep based on their rating in Angie's List. Unlike previous businesses I attempted to contact prior to calling Neat Sweep, I had no problem whatsoever in scheduling an appointment. Corey was punctual, professional, courteous and patiently answered all of my questions. I will definitely contact Neat Sweep for future inspections and cleanings. Thanks!

This was a Big Deal purchase for a 20-Point Inspection. I emailed them to set up an appointment, and someone from their office called me immediately. Someone also called the day before the appointment as a reminder. The gentleman arrived on time, did the inspection, and went over the results with me.

I needed to know whether the leak that I was experiencing in my home was coming from the chimney or my roof. Corey was able to determine from his inspection that the chimney was not causing the leak and went on to explain what he saw on the roof that could possibly be causing the leak. He seemed to be very knowledgeable and he was very professional and helpful. He was pleasant to speak with. I needed to speak with him after the inspection and left a voice mail message and he returned the call within a reasonable amount of time within that day.

1st impression, they did not have shoe covers. they seemed to be in a rush. they were done in 20 minutes. this seemed to be to quick to clean an entire chimney. they did not clean the exterior clean out door. the fire place was cleaned with a vacuum and soft brush.

Called the service provider today 11/18 and was told $89 just to come out and inspect the chimney and then they would charge us a $20 surcharge because we are in Goochland County. So $109 just for a less than 30 min inspection sorry that seems way out of line!

Very well. Chimney inspection resulted in a clean bill of health. No cleaning necessary. Representative was informative and prompt in his inspection. Provided recommendations for future use of the fireplace.

The visit from Cary was great. He showed up on time and was very clear when speaking to me about our chimney. We had wanted him to come inspect our chimney before using it for the first time (we recently bought the house). He looked at the outside of the chimney (did not go up on the roof, but looked from the ground) and looked up into the chimney from inside our house. He explained future work that we should consider doing very clearly and even showed me an example of what he was talking about by pointing at my neighbors house. He walked me through how to open and close the flu and let me know that some customers have trouble with this type, but reassured me that if I needed help, just to give them a call. At the end of his visit he wrote a detailed report of the visit and his recommendation for future work. The only negative...For the work that was done, I feel like $80 was a little high considering all he really did was look at our roof and look up the chimney, but having the peace of mind is worth it to us.

The guy came out and inspected the chimney and said that it didn't need cleaned and that everything looked good. He said he would clean it but didn't think it was necessary. He refunded the $89 that I had already paid.

My experience was all fine. They did a great job and it was a fair price.

I am happy with my service. We heard a something in our chimney and were concerned that it was a squirrel or a bird. They came out and did a full cleaning and it was a bird.... pretty big I might add! They were very professional and polite. The tech seemed very well trained on his work and I would definitely use them again.
