It went okay.

The moving experience was awesome. I initially had some issues getting a hold of someone, but once the process started, I was very happy. I left a message with the 1-800 number in May. A week later I had not heard from anyone, so I called the local number. The local folks at Hilldrup were great and worked me in on the date I needed. Apparently, my message had never reached them. 4 guys showed up at my house around 8:30 on my move date and had my 3 bedroom house in the truck by 10am. I did not have them pack me. It was only a bulk item move. They unloaded me, reassembled two beds and were done by 1:30pm. I moved from Ashland to the U of R area. They were extremely courteous and expeditious in their jobs. If I ever move again, I will use them.

They are great. They were very professional and efficient and took care of everything. I would use them again in the future.

I contracted with Hilldrup because my previous movers had backed out of me at the last minute. Hilldrup had very short notice but were able to accommodate my move on the date specified. I was initially met by Thomas who had priced out my move and took inventory of my apartment. He explained to me the ins and outs of the moving process and gave me a complete breakdown on the approximate cost of the move. On the date of my move, I was met by the team of movers. They did a brief walkthrough of what I wanted moved and they got to work. They were very cordial and delicate with my possessions. We were laughing and joking throughout the whole process. They made me feel very much at ease. When I got to the new place, there were some challenges with getting some of my stuff through the front door because of the size of the items and the shape of my entry way. We were able to come up with a plan and they were able to get the stuff in. The final price matched what Thomas had indicated on the estimate. The final paperwork was explained to me in great detail and overall I was very comfortable with the process start to finish. I would definately hire Hilldrup again for any move I plan in the future (hopefully I will not have one for quite a while).

It went very well. From the estimate through the actual move day it went very well. They worked hard, were really nice folks and didn't damage anything at all. We were really happy we selected them and would do so again. The only drawback was they were little light on the estimate for boxes and we had to go back a few times to get more. However, that was such a minor issue that it didn't deter us from wanting say such good things about them.

The estimator was very professional and provided us with several options (i.e. packing, storage, etc.) and provided quotes for each. Once date was set, they moved us out on a Friday and in on a Saturday, worked very efficiently, and actually got the job done under budget. No damage nor any lost items. Crews were very polite and extremely helpful. This was an in-town move. Moving is not fun but, in the event we move again, we will call Hildrip.

We spent $3800 for the move. They did a great job. There was nothing really out of the ordinary. We were happy with their service. We would use them again in the future.

Crew arrived on time. In and out very quickly. Very professional about protecting walls and carpet. Clean, respectful. Unloaded in new place in record time. Everything put back together perfectly. No complaints, better than perfect service.

All proceeded smoothly and efficiently. The moving crew was excellent, communicated well, performed in a timely manner, and inspired confidence throughout. Overall, a fine and problem-free moving experience.

I am very pleased with Hilldrup. Yes there are cheaper local movers, but you get what you pay for and Hilldrup is totally worth the extra price. Both crews that I worked with were punctual, professional, friendly, hard workers, and CAREFUL! Nothing was damaged at either move. Nothing went missing or lost even though i had to store items on the truck overnight (they are one of the few companies that would actually store items overnight). They keep an inventory of every item loaded onto the truck and everything is secured. Above all, they really worked with me during a difficult situation where the buyers of my house could not confirm when the closing would happen until the very last minute. They worked around constant schedule changes up until the very day of loading and never a single complaint from anyone. Both the office and the movers were very understanding of my stress level. I hope I don't have to move for a very long time, but when I need movers again I intend to use them.

They were excellent and I can't say enough good things about them! We will be using them again in our move to North Carolina.

It went very very well. Everything about them went very well and they did a very good job. They came on time had good people.

I plan to address the other categories above after the move has been completed.

Three items were broken, a table, a mirror, and a chair. They repaired each or provided us credit for the repair. We had to follow-up several times to get the claim handled. Everyone was very nice but one item, the mirror, remains broken with no resolution.

From start to finish, the Hilldrup Moving Team was outstanding! Our schedule was tight but they came through as professionals. We are very pleased and will recommend them to our Richmond friends!

Their service was really great and the people that came and packed and moved the furniture were very good and punctual. Their price was pretty reasonable. We got 4 different estimates and they had the best. We would definitely recommend them and they were very good to work with.

Perfect. The associate who took my original call was very polite, efficient, and professional. An estimator met me at the apartment at a specific time and provided a written estimate. I was impressed by his attention to detail and professionalism. I was able to get used boxes for free from the company. The movers arrived on time and performed the move very efficiently. The men were pleasant, polite, strong, helpful, and professional. I was VERY pleased with the service.

The movers were 30 min late and then refused to pack dining room, because we didn't have the garage packed. They stood around for an hour trying to get hold of the home office, to see if they should start. We were charged for this hour. Also, we had been promised an experienced local crew and we got 5 new hires, 3 of whom were day laborers. Most of the loading time, one or more were sleeping in the cab of the truck. I had color-coded each box and each room to make it easier for them, and they still misplaced many items. They scratched my walls, broke trim pieces off good wooden furniture. I had taken the insurance, but didn't meet the deductible ,so ended up paying for their sloppy work. All and all it was a horrible experience and I will never use them again, nor will I recommend them to my clients.

Even though it was a short move, there is always the possibility of damaged items. This did not happen this time. The movers were well mannered, professional, and very fast during the move. They had all of our property, in our new house before noon. That was with a start time of seven in the morning. You can't get much faster than that. They even stayed a little longer in case we were unhappy with the way the furniture was arranged. They did an excellent job and we would be more than happy to hire them again if we ever move again.

The movers were very professional and fast. They were extremely careful with breakables, wrapped and padded most everything. They were organized, very friendly and neat. They did an excellent job and did not break a thing. I would highly recommend this moving company.

We have moved several times because of my husband s job and we have had both good and bad experiences with them. This was one of the bad experiences. The were on time and assisted us in arranging everything once they arrived, but there were several different items they damaged in the process. They were apologetic, but that did not repair the items some of which were quite valuable to us.

The movers did an excellent job, especially as far as the furniture was transported. They were polite, friendly, on time, and treated the furniture with care. They didn t break, scratch or damage one thing and we were very pleased with the way they handled things. They are a very reputable, professional moving company.

They showed up when they said they would and the crew was ready to work. They helped pack and unpack my property without breaking or scratching anything. There was an oriental tree that came up missing, but the driver explained that it was stolen by a passerby. I didn t believe him although I was still very happy with the move and I would hire them again.

They really had their heads on straight. They were very professional and respectful. They really cared about where I put my precious things and where I put everything else. I really thought this company really worked for their money and I was happy with their service. The company paid for the move.
