The people at CTR were awesome! Everyone I spoke to was polite, professional and very concerned about doing a great job. I would have loved to give As for all the ratings but the actual workers did not provide the same quality. I won't deny the work was done quickly or that it appears to have been done well (time will tell). Our issues were also handled by staff immediately! But I can't deny the fact that there was small issues. We had our sky light taken and not put back in when the workers left. I called CTR and they had the workers come back to put it back in so we didn't have a open hole to the outdoors. We felt pretty bad because they most likely had to drive an hour to return, if not more and it was replaced in the dark after a very long day of work. Lastly, stickers were not removed from the new skylights and they had parked their work trailer in front of both of our garage doors and had we not noticed and asked them to move it, we wouldn't have been able to get to work. The guys as CTR deserves the As. I just wish the workers would have had shown the same ethics.

Thank you for the high marks and even more importantly the honest commentary to help us continue to improve. We have spoken to the crewmen to make them aware of their actions that do not live up to the standards that CTR reaches for on all jobs. Thank you again, and please do not hesitate to contact CTR should you have any future roofing needs!

In March, 2016, the ridge vent blew off. Fortunately, it didn't land on anyone, and CTR came within hours to re-affix it. It had been originally nailed down only with short roofing nails. In October, 2016, the roof leaked, creating a water stain about a foot in diameter in an upstairs bedroom. The TPO membrane's seams had not been fully sealed. CTR came the next morning to address the problem, but I may need to replace some new insulation and will definitely have to repaint a ceiling as a result. I recognize CTR may have had some miscommunications with their subcontractor and that some of the flaws may not have been obvious upon initial inspection, but I am surprised to have had such problems with a fairly simple roof. I believe the service technician has more expertise than the original roofers, but I don't have a lot of trust that I won't have more problems in the next few years. I am glad, however, CTR has been responsive.
Description of Work: I had CTR replace my roof about a year ago (Dec. 2015) and since then I have had a chance to live with the new roof.

Thank for for purchasing the March 2016 $199.00 Angie's List roof service deal. We wish to apologize that the service technician did not arrive at the designated time. Our customer's time is valuable and we know that they lead busy lives with multiple daily commitments. Unfortunately some appointments throughout the day exceed the allotted scheduled time and it causes a delay in arriving at the next appointment. We apologize that the delay occurred on your service visit. Thank you for your kind comments regarding the dedication and work ethic of the technician that completed your service. Your comments will be shared with our staff so that we may continue to strive for 100% customer satisfaction.

Ms. [Member Name Removed], Thank you for being a repeat customer of Cross Timbers Roofing. We were pleased to perform the service for your Winter Big Deal purchase and are glad to hear you are satisfied with the larger roof repair we completed in January 2016. The winter months make it especially challenging to stay on schedule for outdoor roof work. We strive to keep all appointments but unfortunately inclement weather can cause the need to reschedule appointments to ensure the correct conditions exist to keep our employees safe at a work site and to have the correct temperature conditions to complete an inspection and repairs that will be permanent for our customer. Thank you for your kind words - we look forward to being your roofer of choice in the future.

Mr. [Member Name Removed], It is great that a customer waits to post a review about a company for 5 years AND a change of ownership. I have looked into your account, and while under my ownership CTR has never performed work for you nor have we received ANY payments. If you believe that this is incorrect, please contact me at the office and we look into having charges brought up against the employee who was fraudulently representing themselves as CTR. If you know who this individual is it is your obligation to inform CTR.

Things went very well. I interacted most directly with Patrick Gordon. He promptly and thoroughly answered questions and listened to what we needed in order to provide a range of options for the project. The project was slightly more expensive than other bids, but CTR began and finished very quickly and the work, so far as I can judge right now, looks good and the speed and responsiveness were worth the price, as we had been worrying about more leaks any time it rained and had a variety of issues to address.

Repairman was skilled and repaired multiple leaks. Knowledge of roof repair seemed extensive. We had nail pops and damaged shingles. Cost was reasonable. Only negative was they arrived at 8:55am for scheduled 8am arrival. Called to say they were running 30 minutes late, but actually came almost an hour late. Business is 40 minutes away from us and maybe they didn't appreciate the required travel time at rush hour, not sure. Would use them again.

The person to whom I spoke, Wayne Hodges, stated that there would be a charge for the initial visit in order to prepare an estimate, which I agreed to pay as this amount would be applied to the final bill if the work was contracted and completed. After not hearing from the company, I called Wayne on 10/7. At that point, he seemed harried and disorganized and had to search around for the paperwork for my job, which he eventually found. After making a bunch of excuses about being busy and having trucks out of service he said they would not be able to get to my job for a couple of weeks. I replied that I had indicated a need to get the work completed by 10/15 in our initial conversation and he had stated that would be no problem as it was likely a one day job. When I indicated that I would need to find another contractor and that I would be posting a review of my experience on Angie's List, Wayne said he would personally conduct the estimate, to which I agreed. At that time Wayne stated he would not need access to the inside of the house or the back yard. In a follow-up call later that week, Wayne said the height of the house prevented him from performing the estimate, which would require a two man team and access to the back yard, to which I again agreed. After another 10 days of radio silence from Wayne, I called on 10/19 for a staus update. Wayne claimed that he had sent a crew to the house 3 times and they could not access the back yard due to a locked gate. I asked why they had not called me to open the gate, and Wayne claims that they did call. I asked what number they called since I had no messages from anyone at Cross Timbers. Wayne said he had no idea what number they called and advised me to find another contractor to perform the work.

CTR made three appointments and dispatched a service tech on 3 separate dates and on each of those appointments my service manager was told that someone would be on site to open a gate to allow us access to your property. We do our best to accommodate customers from out of town with property in our service area, however it seems that this is a difficult task to accomplish at times when dealing with an out of town family member who has to then communicate with the local family member. On three occasions we have tried to service your request and each time we were left no option but to leave your property to service other customers. Regarding your comment about having to pay for an estimate, we do not charge for estimates for complete re roofing or repairs. We do have a minimum service fee that we charge to come prepared to complete a service repair and while on site we gather information to complete a larger repair that would involve additional materials and manpower. IF that is the case we always deduct the cost of the initial service call from the large repair or re roof project when a customer commits to have us perform the additional work with in 30 days. I can understand your frustration due to scheduling troubles, however I personally instructed my service manager to suggest that you contact someone else as it appeared that we could never get our schedules straight and you were already unhappy.

I don't want to make this come across as a complaint, however, I do have some issues with how things went with this service. The original deal was $149 Roof Inspection Plus Maintenance and Sealing. When I scheduled the visit, I was given a day/time the roofer would visit. In addition to the roof inspection/sealing, I indicated that I had a shingle that needed to be replaced and wanted to see if the roofer could adjust a solar fan panel. A couple of days before the scheduled visit, we received a call asking if the roofer could come out that day, rather than the scheduled date. Since I was eager to get the shingle replaced, I told them it would be okay. When he arrived, he got up on the roof and determined that he could not adjust the solar panel (I was okay with that b/c the fan works, but the solar panel is slightly off angle) and that he needed to replace 2 shingles. Unfortunately, he did not have any shingles that matched the color we have. Because of this, he had to go and purchase the shingles. The main office called and told me that the deal was for 2-hours and if it took the roofer longer than the 2-hours, we would have to pay an additional hourly fee (I think it was around $99). Since the roofer had been at the house for 1-hour, and we needed the shingles replaced, I agreed (hoping he would be able to get it done within the next hour). He could not purchase individual shingles, so he purchased a full pack, which cost us an additional $50. Thankfully, he was able to get the shingles installed within the contracted time frame. We received a bill for $249. The deal was $149 and we had an additional $50 for the shingles. My wife made a call and had to renegotiate the bill back to a total of $199. Recently, we've had quite a lot of rain. For the longest time we've had a very small water stain on the ceiling in our master bathroom. Because of the recent rain, the stain started to get larger. I went up to the attic and found that the bathroom exhaust vents (that run up through the roof) are leaking water, and the drywall has become soaked and molded. I contacted the company to ask if that was something that should have been checked during the roof inspection. I was told that they do their best to determine what needs to be done, based on owner input and the inspection. And, I cannot argue with that. However, the deal was for maintenance and sealing. I was told that if I wanted them to seal the vents, they could come back, but it would be an additional $149 plus any materials. As contrary as this sounds, I was not really unhappy with the roofer who came out and replaced the shingles. There was never any disrespect or rudeness from anyone we talked with, either. I'm just disappointed that there was so much confusion with the original price, the lack of replacement shingles, and the fact that to have 2 plastic pipes sealed, it's going to cost me an additional $149 (at least). We're now going to have to purchase another roofing deal through Angie's List, for $59.

I had this company do repairs on my house two years ago because of storm damage to the roof. I was very happy with their service/job that I decided to call them again for a complete roof and any repairs they'd run into along the way. I did have a small leak I was aware of and this was addressed as they did the roofing job. On time, polite, roofers hard working, and they were mindful of setting up for the job properly, and finishing the job with great cleanup. They used a metal detecting hand machine for finding nails on the yard/behind hedges, and the walkway/driveway. Then they used a hand blower to clean all debris away. Any concerns I had, they properly addressed. I want to say "Thanks" to Patrick and all the crew involved with the job at CTR roofing. I would highly recommend!

It was a little rocky to start as the gentleman that did the estimate left the company shortly after giving us the quote. However, given that they were shorthanded at what would be considered the beginning of their busy season, they did a good job of communicating with us. TJ & Chuck were professional and communicative. And the guys who put the roof on did a great job and left our area nice and tidy. I believe it was Jeremy (Jerome?) that boxed the chimney - it looks fantastic! You'd never know it wasn't part of the original structure. I would definitely hire this company again and recommend them to friends and family!

I used a deal of the day from CTR for a roof inspection, knowing that I had an issue to be resolved. The guy came out to perform the inspection (took about 30 mins) and then came down to show/explain what was found. He provided pictures of damage. Later that day (or next morning, I can't remember), I received a call from CTR with a cost estimate for the repair ($280). I accepted and they were out 2 days later to complete the work. It did not go well. T.J., the scheduler told me on the phone initiallly that "slate roofs are not included because slate is so much more expensive." I took this to mean that replacement of any of the slates would not be included in the deal, which I was ok with. I would have still expected that up to the 4 leak repairs and resealing the flashings would have been done, regardless. A man came out, took about 20 minutes to do an inspection, took pictures with his cell phone and informed me that TJ would get back to me. TJ called a couple of days later and said that no repairs were included in the deal and that it says in the Angie's List post that slate roofs are excluded. Rereading the post (and an Angie's List representative confirmed this) there are no clauses in the Big Deal that I purchased excluding slate roofs. I see in the most recent Big Deal that the exclusion has been added. TJ said it would cost $1120 to repair my roof - this includes replacement of "about 25 slates and redo stuff on the hips". To date, I have not received a written estimate for the repairs. When I asked if my $199 would apply to the cost of repairs, he said no, that was just for the inspection and the estimate. The Angie's List representative that I spoke with said I should have at least had 4 leaks and the flashings repaired for that price. I'm very unhappy with my experience with Cross Timbers and will not do business with them. When I asked him what it would have cost me if I had just called the company outright for an estimate - he said it would be free if they were replacing the entire roof, or it would be $149 if they were estimating repairs only. So, essentially, I paid an extra $50 for the estimate - not to mention the repairs that were promised in the Angie's List Big Deal were not done. 4/20/2015; I wanted to add to my review that I was very pleased to receive a full refund from Chuck at Cross Timbers Roofing. I must say that is an example of Doing the Right Thing. Thank you Chuck.
Description of Work: the "Big Deal" promised a $459 value for $199 and was to include roof inspection, roof maintenance, which includes repair of up to 4 leaks, resealing all flashings as necessary and repairing and securing loose shingles.

[member name removed], I am very sorry that you have exposed an oversight that neither my Angie's List rep nor I had encountered while setting up any big deals. It was always implied that these deals were for shingle roofs, as they mention shingles in the deal. However they do not specifically exclude other types of roofing. Of course exclusions are necessary for various reasons and both I and my rep missed this. I am issuing a complete refund to you immediately! I am sorry for your poor experience with Cross Timbers Roofing, we strive to be so much better than what your experience indicates. Chuck

It went great! The best answer is that I got the best deal because Larry replaced shingles, reenforced loose nails, sealed around pipes and straightened fixtures while on roof plus inspected the entire roof and gutters!

Sometimes it is good to repeat:Fixed shingles, reinforced nails, sealed areas around fixtures, inspected the entire roof, which Larry did an outstanding job! Without a doubt, I will hire again and recommend to others!

Read AL's review & decided to contact CTR via their webpage. Got a call a couple of hours later & had an appt. scheduled for a couple days later. It snowed & so we had to reschedule. Spoked with TJ & described my issue: Needed a diverter on an roof overhang to divert rain H20 away from HVAC. Because of some communication mix up on both our parts: TJ sent out his technician - who I thought was going to give me a estimate for the work - and the gentleman proceeded to install the diverter. It was about a 30 min job & he also discussed with me some other things I saw around other parts of my roof. I can say it was well worth the money to divert rain water away from flooding my HVAC & causing thousands of dollars to repair or replace. TJ & CTR were preemptive in what they were doing for me & was flexible enough to put me in their queue. I appreciate their proactive & quick thinking & will highly recommend them for any type of roofing job. Easy to deal with.

Scheduling was very easy. There were no additional costs. They completed the work in about an hour. They did a good job.
Description of Work: I purchased a deal for roof maintenance. They re-caulked around the roof where it was necessary and replaced some shingles.
