A & J Resurfacing

My bathroom had bright yellow tile with a bright yellow tub, A&J resurfaced the tub and tile and made them white. It looks brand new and they guarantee the finish for five years.

Let me save you the time of researching and looking through a million before and after pictures. Seriously stop researching and pick up the phone or email A&J Resurfacing RIGHT NOW. I research everything and am very calculated with how I chose to spend my hard earned money and I know you are too! From the moment I emailed A&J Resurfacing I knew that this was going to be THE company I chose to work with for my bathroom's makeover. If you want to do business with a company that makes you feel like a priority and delivers the quality work you want, LOOK NO FURTHER. As soon as I emailed A&J for an inquiry (on a weekend), I received a response from April within minutes and had an appointment set for the following week. I also received reminder calls for the initial appointment and the actual appointments to complete the job. John was punctual, courteous, patient, meticulously clean (I mean not a single piece of evidence they were even there) and extremely knowledgeable! The end result is far better than I could ever imagine and it is a COMPLETE transformation. I no longer feel embarrassed to show my guests this bathroom and I am not overwhelmed by this ugly mauve bathroom looming in the back of my projects list. The price I paid is simply incredible for the work I had completed!!!! Excellent experience, superb customer service and incredibly beautiful work!!!

They did a fabulous job. They came on the day they said they'd come. Our two bathrooms look beautiful. Our house was built in the 60's. We had two pink trimmed bathrooms. I never thought we could ever afford to have them updated. When we heard about reglazing, we decided that was our best choice. The bathrooms look like the old tile was taken off, and new put on. We are very happy with he results.

Arrived on time as scheduled, the Service Technician (Austin) explained the steps of the processes he was going to performed. We have several mounting holes to be repaired from where we had installed and removed the shower doors. I was very impress time and effort the tech covered the floor in the bathroom and the floor outside the bathroom. Great efforts were taken by the tech to make sure the shower rods and towel rods are covered to make sure they were not affected during the process. This complete process took about 6.5 hours, to perform the repairs of the holes, sanding and applying the resurface material to the unit. We are extremely happy with the work performed and would recommend this company to anybody who require this type of work.

They are reliable, they call before they come out, and they do a good job. They cleanup after themselves, which is great!

It did not go well. They had to return twice to fix very uneven surfaces. The owner came out the second time to inspect the job when I complained and then the original worker came out to redo parts of it. It was better, but I was still left with a very uneven glaze job- better coverage on the top of the shower, much thinner on the bottom, and a drip in one corner. Two and a half years later, some of the thin glazing on the bottom came off--too bad they only give a two year warranty.

After 3.5 years, my original tub repainting job had a few dings in it. Called and left a message. Was prompted called back and scheduled for an appt. The gentleman showed up on time and was able to touch up the dings in no time. I had one rust spot coming through. He sanded and primed it before repainting. I was pleased with the original job, and pleased again with the follow up service. Would highly recommend.

The provider arrived at the time scheduled, and called 30 minutes ahead of time. I had my old claw foot tub scraped, and then resurfaced with a biscuit colored component made to look like porcelain. After the service was over, i was extremely pleased with the overall look, but noticed that there was a scratch and gouge in the new surface! i was extremely concerned that this would violate the warranty, and put my new finish at risk, but April offered to have a tech come out and treat the scratch at no additional cost to me. I really appreciated this effort to make it right and i'm pleased with how the tub looks!

I contact A&J before Christmas to get an estimate on resurfacing my old bathtub/shower combo. I spoke with April and she was very knowledgeable, giving me information on the process and pricing. A few weeks later I scheduled the service to be completed. The appointment was scheduled for 9am. At 9am on the day the work was scheduled the two technicians knocked on my door, worked throughout the morning and had the bathtub finished in four hours. They explained the do's and don'ts and advised me of the warranty on the work and what would cause it to be voided. The work they did was awesome. The tub looks brand new and now makes the rest of my bathroom look brighter. I will definitely be using them in the near future and I've already had people who have seen the picture of the work ask for their information.

Arrived right on time. Very professional. Resurfaced an existing bathtub that had been done before by someone else who had done a very poor job... A & J Resurfacing did an amazing job. We could not be Happier with the outcome & would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company...Will definitely use again....

My appointment was scheduled at 2:00 pm and at 2:00 pm they were sitting in my drive way. John was extremely professsional and knowelegable about my job and provided me with instructions as to how to maintain the excellent new finish of my tub.

The experience was excellent. They are friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, respectful, great customer service, and all of the good things we would look for in a company.

Bathtub is 35 years old, enamel was worn under the bath spout. I found A&J on AL and called. The lady I spoke with was pleasant and knowledgeable. The work was scheduled for 2 days later. The man showed up on time and completed the job in about 3 hours. There was a barely discernible smell of lacquer but it faded after about an hour. The tub now looks gorgeous, blast white and sparkling. They also removed the mildew stained caulking around the tub and recaulked it perfectly. Unless you're planning to upgrade your tub to a Jacuzzi I would highly recommend you call on this company. I would use them again without hesitation.

We chose A&J after reading AL listings and getting visits/quotes from three potential vendors. John Stillwell (owner) explained the steps involved in the resurfacing and estimated a three-day time period for completion. Scheduling was easily and efficiently handled by April (John's wife). On the start day their worker (Mark) arrived punctually and did a very detailed, thorough cleaning of the existing tiles and grout. There was no mess, no fuss and he was most professional. The second day Mark resurfaced the walls, applying the necessary primer and multiple resurfacing materials. While the spray was foul-smelling, Mark kept air blowers going the entire time. By the following morning there was little odor remaining. That third morning John handled the resurfacing of the non-slip shower floor and the bathroom floor. Again, blowers kept the smell to a minimum. When completed our bathroom looked brand new in every respect! A remarkable improvement! My wife and I are very satisfied and will certainly recommend A&J to others. As an aside, A&J's price was about one-half that of another top-rated area vendor. Unlike them, A&J does not have an expensive showroom to support in Short Pump which, we think, is totally unnecessary for a resurfacing project such as ours. Also, keep in mind that the temporary removal of the toilet, sink, shower door, etc. is something that must be arranged separately. None of the providers we spoke with offered those services. We're very pleased with A&J Resurfacing as they proved to be true specialists who were reasonably priced and a pleasure to deal with.

I think they were fine. They were very prompt and very clean. I had a slight problem, but they offered to fix it if the problem continued, so I have to say I am so far happy. The price was fair, it was very reasonable for what they did. They were definitely concerned that I had a problem.

They were excellent. They gave me 5% off for being in Angie's list. I didn't have to monitor them. They were punctual. They were here, I didn't have to be here. They told me if there were any problems after I did look at the product to give them a call. They advised me what to do before hand make sure the tub is clean and advised me about ventilation and fumes so I kept other workers out of the house that day. The next day like all the fumes were gone and you know the quality is just outstanding. It is just made a huge difference in the bathroom and it has no window in it, you don't think about that because the color is so bright. I would use them again in the future.

AJ did a great job and saved me the time and money of replacing the bath/shower unit. They were very professional and courteous. They showed on time, cleaned after themselves and did a great job. I highly recommend looking at AJ refinishing you bath/shower before you consider replacement. ThX AJ

From start to finish I am very happy with my service from A&J. I was relieved they were even able to do the work, since I can not afford to have the tub replaced, much less whatever other cost would come along with that. My tub was peach, 25 years old and had significant "wear and tear". They were able to change it to a white, shiny new looking tub. It is an excellent, easy and affordable upgrade. The transformation is amazing. I will be calling again for the tub in my second bathroom.

Excellent. They were informative and helpful beforehand. They showed up when they said they would. Charged me what they said they would. There on time...Completed on time.When my plumber pout on the the new bath fixtures he dropped a tool and scratched the new surface. I called A&J and they set up a time to come out right away...They, again, showed up on time and did not even charge me for the touch up. Highly recommend them!!!

I emailed, then decided to call this company late one evening. Not only did an extremely pleasant and helpful lady answer the phone late at night, but she was already responding to the email I'd just sent! She gave me the price over the phone, explained the details of the process, and was able to schedule the appointment for just a couple days later. She worked out all the arrangements with me by phone, the workers showed up when they said they would, they finished the work, and then texted me a picture of a bathtub that looked BRAND NEW for a SUPER affordable price. I never would have imagined the old, peeling paint, original blue colored bath tub from the 1960's could look so beautiful, and I had no idea I could even afford that kind of work. A commercial plumber had just been at the house and told me it would be about $1,500 to replace the tub, and then a contractor told me it could be close to $1,000 just for a liner. I'd given up and was going to just buy a long bath mat to hide all the peelling paint. I am amazed at the quality of work that was done, and that it was so affordable. Not only that, but the late-night response to my phone call (when I thought I'd get voice mail) and instantaneous pricing and scheduling, is not something I'd expect to find! If you have an old bathtub that you think you can't afford to make better - please keep this company in mind. For about $400 I have what looks like a brand new, shiny, gorgeous bathtub. Truly exceptional work. If I could give a higher score than an A to this company, I would.

This was scheduled 2 weeks in advance. The worker arrived promptly and left on time. The overall quality looks good much better than the tub did before, but there was some dust-that probably couldn't have been avoided in the finish. It still looks 200% better than it did. The owners are wonderful! very helpful in answering questions and follow up. I had a non standard tub, so I couldn't use their standard drain cover, so they helped me find it on the internet. I'd use them again anytime. I cannot say how it has held up, because it looks so nice I have not wanted to use it yet.in

When I called them concerning my bathtub they were very helpful in explaining what could and could not be done with my bathtub. They gave me a price over the phone and explained what that price would cover. They set up a time that would work for both of us and they were on time on the day the work was to be completed. The person gave me instructions to follow to let the new finish cure prior to me using it. Also gave me information on how to maintain the finish. I had a question later and called their office and the person that answered the phone was very helpful.

All work was excellent. Person on the job was on time, did a great job and cleaned up well. All in all a great experience.

Excellent service. Calls were returned promptly and service person arrived promptly. He updated me on time it was going to take as the work progressed. Everything was done quickly and clean up was done professionally. The tub looks like new. I would definitely use this company again and would recommend them to anyone looking to have resurfacing work done.
