The workmen arrived on time, and were polite and efficient. They did an excellent job and completed the work within the estimated time frame, with a minimum of fuss and muss. The work and material were as advertised. We highly recommend this company and would gladly do business with them again.

They are the best place for rugs and floors. I had shopped the price and only went with high end stuff. They took the time. The price included all the molding and all the tear out. They called several times to make sure that I was happy. They are the only ones that I would call.

LVF took all of the measurements for the project in about ~20 minutes and we received an estimate via email the same night. Upon making the down payment (50%) LVF ordered the wood for the project. They put us on their schedule when the wood arrived. The pre-finished flooring was delivered to our home two days before the project started to allow the wood to acclimate. LVF arrived promptly (between 8:30-9am) the first day to begin work. They ripped out all of the old carpeting from the upstairs within a couple of hours and finished laying all of the flooring upstairs by the end of the day. They worked around all of our large furniture (e.g., beds, dressers, armoires, etc.). LVF arrived promptly the second day to begin work on the staircase. They finished installation of the new stair treads and risers by early-mid afternoon. LVF arrived promptly the third day to sand and stain the stair treads. That process took only a couple of hours. On the fourth day, LVF was supposed to return (between 8:30-9am) to apply the 1st coat of sealant to the stair treads, but nobody showed. I called LVF at about 9:45am and they apologized and explained they had an emergency and couldn't make it out that day. They returned promptly on the 5th and 6th days to apply coats of sealant to the stair treads. Those visits only took about an hour each. There was an issue with the sealant taking to small spots where putty had been applied to nail-holes. They returned for a final visit to re-sand and re-apply sealant to those areas. We are very happy with the end-result.

They guided us in the showroom, gave us samples to take home, came promptly to measure and confirm the product color match and scheduled the product delivery and installation for a time that was convenient for us. They arrived on time for the installation and completed in one day. They took great care to line up the flooring with our existing hardwood floors and it looks great. They stained the 1/4 round on-site to match the floor and cleaned up well at the end of the job. They were careful about moving our furniture too. We had an issue with one board in a high traffic area where the grain of the wood split slightly and raised enough to be caught on socks/etc and started to splinter the wood. They came right out and replaced the piece promptly and nicely, protecting the surroundig floor with drop cloths and cleaning up well. The floors look great and we are very happy with the service we received. We would definitely choose them again for future flooring needs.

I went in and told them the scope of the project, and they offered to let me look at all the remnant carpeting. I picked out the one I liked, and they installed it for $326. It took them about an hour. They were polite. They did what they had to do, cleaned up after themselves and left. Everything looks great. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

Went well. Craig came by and did the measurement. Mike came by with the pieces and he installed. 1 big square piece for the landing was oversize so that was not used. I thought since it was meant for my job, I would keep it. But that was not the case. At any rate, the dog is happy going up and down on a cushiony surface. Update on 12/19/2011 - Craig called and explained the misunderstanding about the square piece. He came and delivered it to my house.

I called to get someone to come out and price. They came out, measured and said they would call me back. They didn't call back, so I called them the following week. They apologized, gave me a fair price, and I asked to be put on their schedule. The installers came on time, and were done in about two hours. Very clean work, the carpet was exactly the same. I am very pleased.

They came in with a good price and completed the job in 2 days. The owners and sales people were easy to deal with and gave us options to allow us to save some additional money on the job.The only glitch was a small install of tile in front of a doorway. The installers weren't prepared to do that so it was rescheduled for later that week. The rescheduled appointment for the tile went just fine and we are happy with their work.Can't speak much to the quality of the carpet since it has only been installed for a week, but so far so good.

All in all, the cleaning was satisfactory. They placed plastic protector sheets under some furniture legs when I specifically requested it (had some rust stains on the carpet from the previous cleaning that can't be removed). I was told their policy is just not to get too close to furniture legs when cleaning, so that the carpet under those areas does not become wet. I have only one comment: I asked the service person to please tilt a couch forward so I could sweep under it and then move it literally one foot back towards the wall so that the carpet directly in front of the couch could be thoroughly cleaned. I was later informed on the bill that this time there would be no additional charge for 'moving furniture', but in the future there would be a square foot increase charged for the entire job. Seems a little excessive to me, to call this 'moving furniture'...(Carpet cleaning companies we have used in the past always cleaned the carpet under couches--which can get pretty darn dirty. They moved them without additional charge, cleaned underneath, put the couch back in position, and placed the legs on styrofoam blocks to aid in drying.)

Our experrience with Loundoun Valley Floors was excellent! The company put in wooden floors and did some tile work around a fire place and a door entrance. The quality of the work is quite good. The service they provided was professional and the representatives were responsive to our questions and problems. My wife and I both work and the company was flexible on scheduling, arranging to do the wooden floors/tile work on Saturdays. This was very helpful. We would use this company again.

The first thing they did was the floors. I asked for only 2 things. Durability and ease of communication. I got neither one. The folks they sent didn't speak a lick of understandable English. They were supposed to screen the floors and then clean them with something before they started the new finish. This didn't happen and I couldn't communicate with them enough to rectify the situation. Consequently the finish is anything but durable. Our 3 pound kitten scratches it when she runs on it. Their answer to this when I complained only a few days after it was done was to send a guy out with a bottle of Bona Wood Floor Cleaner. They did the carpet in our upstairs next. Same deal. No English. They scratched some of the furniture in the moving which I repaired. The worst thing was that after the carpet was installed none of the doors would close as would be expected if you think about. Yet I had to call and mention this. They immediately send out a guy that was apparently a family member of the salesman. He took down and planed off the bottom of just one door 5 times and it still doesn't close without dragging on the carpet. In the process of planing the doors he chipped all the edges so badly that all the doors will have to be replaced before we can list this house for sale. At some point I just gave up and realized it was never going to be right. Needless to say I would not recommend them ever for anything.

It was a good experience. They were very professional and did a great job. Their prices were competitive with everybody else. We've had our carpets cleaned before where it didn't really look like they had done anything and it looked like they did a really, really good job. Our stairs were really dirty and they got them really clean. It was a good experience. They were very professional. They were great all around.

I actually did not wind up using them but I think they are a good company. We had a mix-up and I think they were very reasonable. I would consider using them again. I wouldn't have a hesitation to use them again. We started doing the job and we had a conflict so we just terminated the contract and they gave me my money back. There was no animosity between us. I actually don't think they are a bad company. It was just the set of circumstances because I think it was unusual for this company to have that happen. When I said that we couldn't do it in their time frame, they were very understanding. What I really liked is that when there was a problem, the owner was willing to get on the phone in his office. Sometimes when things go wrong, you can tell more about the company at that time than when things go right. I wouldn't hesitate to try them again.

All work was done well and with great care. I am very satisfied with this company.

the whole process was great. from visiting the shop to choose the flooring, to the measurement, to the actual install...the process was wonderful. it was nice to work with a "home grown" business and utilize a local company...not a "big name" department store.
