Description of Work: Started nicely - ended badly. Owner was pleasant on phone - came by house to see the job when I wasn't there - house is over 100 years old with recessed gutters in an historic district (The Fan). |Family is only at the house in the daytime two days/week, scheduled in November and no show, but received invoice?! Called to clarify and re-schedule and owner was somewhat apologetic - indicated workers would arrive Dec. 11 between 12-4 pm. We need to be at house to give workers access to back garden side - and to coordinate with neighbors on north side to allow entrance for putting in ladders in neighbors yard. |Two young men arrived around 3 pm - didn't introduce themselves until I asked their names - they walked around the house - didn't ring the doorbell, then just pulled off? I called the owner and as we were speaking, they returned to say they didn't see how they could access two sides, and besides, one said he needed to be back at the shop at 4 pm, so not sure why I hadn't been scheduled as their first stop. |I showed them how previous gutter cleaners had accessed sides, but admittedly, neighbor's trees needed to be trimmed back to make it easier. Because one guy was in such a hurry, I said, "Just do the front and back today, and I'll call the neighbors about trimming, or pay you extra to do it next time and we'll reschedule to do the rest then." I needed to leave for a Dr. appt. at 4:15 myself. |Instead they went ahead and did it all very fast, including the side they said was inaccessible? I was surprised that they only used leaf blowers when everyone who has ever come before has used gloved hands and water hoses. Unfortunately, I didn't go out and watch them until the very end when they were doing the front gutters. I asked if they flushed the downspouts and the nicer guy said "No they just bang on them to see if clogged and that dislodges debris...unless customer specifically requests." I said I'd definitely want them to run water in the future, especially on older gutters and downspouts with architectural braces, etc. (This is not some rancher with vinyl siding in the suburbs!) All other companies have always flushed the gutters and downspouts. I asked them to open two shutters that had blown closed and they discovered some of the antique shutter props had come loose and pieces were falling off, so I was glad I was there to ask them to give them to me because otherwise they would not have done any of that as a courtesy on their own, I'm sure. |Ironically, yard men had come just two hours before them to blow away all the leaves on all sides of the house,except the alley. Well, after MInd in the Gutter left, I walked around the house and they had cleaned up the front and back side somewhat, but they left all the leaves and debris they'd blown out lying on the ground on both sides of the house!! |In conclusion , very unprofessional, poor communication and far below standard for this kind of home and neighborhood. I was really hoping to find a quality company to contract with for 3 visits per year- and the owner sounded nice, but the work was disappointing. |

Description of Work: I originally contracted to have my gutters cleaned and I have had this done in the past by this vendor, quite satisfactorily. This time, I upped the ante and had the leaf exterminator installed. It was a little different from their video that I had reviewed because I have a slate roof, but I am happy to have this installed. Mind in the Gutter agreed to apply my original contract payment to the installation. After the installation, Ethan recommended that I have some Crepe Myrtles and other shrubs trimmed back where they were touching the roof and were planted too close to the house. I have had those removed and am very pleased with the results.

Description of Work: The service provider was prompt and the two gentlemen worked quickly and efficiently. I was able to get to work on time and did not have to take the day off. I highly recommend these guys. They were very courteous and professional.

Description of Work: Cleared a clogged gutter. The first time they came they didn't solve the problem, but they promptly rescheduled and solved the problem on second trip. Would recommend and use them again. The only reason for not giving them an A on quality was that it required two attempts.
