Classic Comfort Heating & Air Conditioning

Description of Work: Contractor installed two 20 seer trane heat pumps when we bought our house. We have had numerous issues in the past 2 1/2 years including having to replace a compressor, capacitors blowing, computer boards failing. The last service call was for one unit running in emergency heat mode all the time. Turns out the unit was almost completely out of freon. Charged for a leak test, didn't find a leak and charged for freon and the service call. All this on 2 $expensive top of the line trane units that have been trouble since new. I am more unhappy with trane than classic comfort but they did not help matters much either. The one bright spot was the technician who was very professional and helpful.

Description of Work: My central air wouldn't cool, so I called Classic Comfort since the company who had installed my furnace was no longer in business. I called about 1:00 and they had someone out within a couple of hours. He gave me an estimate for repair, but also suggested we might want to consider replacing the unit as it is at least 20 yrs old. We opted for the quick fix, which he was able to do on the spot. He was courteous, professional, skilled and got it working again in short order. I will call this company, as well as others, to get estimates on replacing the unit, but in the meantime, our house is cool, and I'm a happy camper. I do not know if the charge was "reasonable" because I don't know what others charge. I do not think it was unreasonable as I paid Universal HVAC about $350 for the same repair about 6 years ago. The charge was $90 for the housecall and $344.00 to replace the fan motor, so that may or may not be in line with competitors.
