You can see the 2 in wide concrete at the top of the hearth and the hearthstone inside of the firebox. You can also see the varying overhangs and the wide insert of additional concrete at the top of the hearthstone on either side to account for the additional space due to miscalculation. I have had numerous conversations with Katie who talks over me telling me this was done to code. She promised me twice last week that her manager would call me and I have not heard from anyone.
