Description of Work: Wanted estimates first. Instead they did the work, then overcharged us afterwards.

Description of Work: I called Norfolk Plumbing to fix a leaking pipe under my house detected during a routine termite inspection. I was told by the manager/owner that someone would come out at 9 am the next business day to have a look. I took off work a few hours to be sure I was home for the appointment. When nobody showed up, I called Norfolk Plumbing to see what the hold up was. The receptionist had no record of the appointment and said she would have to check with her boss. Two hours later she called me back and said they would try and fit me in some time maybe that day between other jobs. By then I had already called another plumber to come out and do the work. I had initially selected Norfolk Plumbing because of all the stellar reviews they had received on Angie's List. In the end I was very disappointed with them and upset that I had taken off work for nothing.

Description of Work: Original issue was a sewage backup into one of our toilets. Without a proper clean-out they had to dig up the main sewage pipe and were then able to snake the line from a damaged main line. They then followed up and installed a proper clean-out. After installing the new clean-out they re-snaked the line due to additional missed blockage at no cost since they were paid to do the snake prior. | |The technician, Ray, was very thorough in his explanation of the issues and the services he provided. Other plumbers quoted around $550 to over $600 for the same job so I felt that Norfolk Plumbing's prices were competitive.

Description of Work: Norfolk Plumbing fixed a running toilet, a bathroom sink stopper and took a look at a loose faucet fixture in the kitchen that in the end was OK. | |They provided me with an appointment right away and arrived on time. They asked exactly what needed to be done and work very efficiently. Both gentlemen were extremely nice and professional.

Description of Work: I responded to an Angie's list special for a $75 toilet tank tune up. The price was great but the service was better. The plumber, Ridge arrive exactly on time and was very courteous and professional. He completed the work promptly and explained the process. When he completed the tune up I asked him if he knew wher I could get a replacement toilet tank top as I had broken mine. He explained that Norfolk Plumbing kept tank tops from other jobs and I couild probably get one at his office. When I arrived at the office I attempted to purchhase the top and was told that as they had the part lying around, no charge. This company went out of their way to help and should I need additional plumbing work, they have a new customer.

Description of Work: We had a backed up toilet and water dripping from a light fixture. They suspected a clog in the sewer line and proceeded to snake the line from the downstairs toilet (backed up toilet) to the main sewer line. They found tree roots in the line and removed them. Then found a backup from the upstairs toilet to the mainline. They then snaked the main sewer line and found more tree roots. The roots had created a backup in the system. The back pressure had resulted in the downstairs toilet appearing clogged and water pushing through the wax seal in the upstair toilet. The water had leaked form that broken seal down the pipes to the fixture in the room below it and is the reason water was dripping down. They had to remove the toilets to do both of these tasks. They were able to perform the whole operation in just under 2 hours. They mentioned that because the main sewer line was cast iron (original from when house was built) then over time small amounts of water can leak through the joints and even a hole as small as a pin head will allow a root to sneak in. Once in the roots expand into more roots that cause the back up. They mentioned that it is not uncommon and most people elect to have their pipes snaked once a year or once every other year as replacing the cast iron with pvc pipe can cost up to many thousands of dollars. We had a great experience with our two plumbers. They were professional and respectful and worked very diligently. Absolutely would recommend to others. Were timely and courteous. Same day we called they came out and did all of this work.
