We live in Chesapeake and our house is on a crawl space. If you know anything about Chesapeake, it’s a swamp. There was water just sitting under our home and over time this will create major issues. No one wants to fork out money on something they can’t even see; however, this is a necessity and an investment. Bay Crawlspace had the most competitive pricing and they were able to guide us on what they recommended. They went through all the options from the most expensive to the least and explained the purpose of each. We went with the middle option which included clean out, grading, liner ground coverage, taped seams, and staked seams along with a custom French drain and a sump pump system. We have had rain several time and it’s absolutely amazing how dry it is now under the house! The work they did was fantastic. The took their time and got it right! The employees were very friendly and respectful as well. We are very very happy with service provided and would absolutely recommend this company to anyone in need of crawl space work.

James and Troy did an excellent job and were both prompt and attentive to our needs. Lenny their supervisor was very thorough in the scope of work performed and James and Troy explained all that was completed as well as made adjustments to correct issues that arose while working in quick fashion . From beginning to end, it was a great experience working with Bay. Fred worked with us to create a plan that would provide us with the support we were looking for while keeping us within budget. They were by far the most fairly priced compared to competitors, and they did not try to sell us on anything extra. We ran into one small plumbing roadblock when the work started but the guys did the right thing and stopped work and brought it to my attention. Bay was extremely accommodating and quick to address the issue, and made it right for us financially. Once the plumbing was resolved, they were right back out and worked until the job was done. Nick and Josh left our home perfectly clean and all their work looks fantastic. We even ended up with upgraded beams at no extra cost due to material shortages. The floors feel extremely sturdy and we have the peace of mind we were hoping for.

I recently used Bay Crawlspace to put a couple support jacks and a support beam under my kitchen island. The previous owners had installed new countertops that were way too heavy for the space and neglected to ever deal with the deflection it caused. I had multiple companies come out and do an inspection. From start to finish, I was really impressed with Bay. Michael was my inspector, and in addition to being very informative, he was one of the most considerate and honest individuals I’ve dealt with regarding any home services I’ve ever sought. There was no high pressure sales pitch, no trying to change my mind if I said I wanted something done a certain way or didn’t want something else. He allowed me to take the time I said I needed, and when I called with questions, he always had answers. Nick and Josh did the work on my house and actually got around to the work earlier than scheduled. They also removed some batt insulation from my crawlspace. They did the work very quickly, didn’t leave a mess behind, and the results were instantly noticeable. The floor was raised, feels much more solid, and the creaking sounds coming from the island itself (that were incredibly annoying) when we would walk nearby have been eliminated. I wouldn’t hesitate to call these guys again.

I hired Bay Crawlspace because I live in an area where the water table is so high that I had constant standing water in my encapsulated crawlspace and it had gotten so bad that my driveway is cracking because of the excess ground water draining under it. I also am getting a very heavy fish tank installed on the first floor of my home and wanted reinforcement placed on the floor joists underneath. I had a great experience with the team that came out to install a French drain around the inside parameter of the crawlspace, with sump that directs water all the way to street. They also used the Titan jacks to reinforce my floor and I could probably park a semi truck in my office now...lol. Thank you for a job well done Mike, Tyler and Aaron and I would say money well spent.

The estimator di not attempt to upsell me on a full encapsulation but when I asked about the option he presented a comparison of costs for both. The scheduling staff worked with me to get scheduled to complete the work despite many days of inclement weather. I was kept informed of the process by both the office staff and the work crew. Very satisfied customer and would highly recommend them to anyone having crawlspace issues.

We just had our first annual inspection and were totally impressed with the customer service, professionalism, knowledge , and attention to detail exhibited by the Field Manager, Seth Lilienthal. Prior to beginning the inspection, he explained exactly what he was going to do and, when the inspection was completed, he confirmed that everything was working as it should be. He also confirmed that he cleaned the filters in the dehumidifiers and that he changed the batteries in both hygrometers and sensors. Bay Crawlspace and Foundation Repair did an amazing crawl space encapsulation job at my house. I’ve been planning to combat the moisture problem in the crawlspace for the last three years. I obtained 6 bids and a lot of diverse recommendations on the best approach that should be used in solving the problem. After counseling with James City County and a structural engineer, I decided to go with Bay Crawlspace because their approach closely aligned with the independent advice I received. Additionally, they also offered financing options that helped us manage the monthly expense budget. They worked with the County on obtaining work permits, came in completed the work within the timeframe they promised and left the area clean of all debris. Since the install last year, I have had the pleasure of meeting their Field Manager Seth Lilienthal who performed the annual preventative maintenance. He checked the entire system, cleaned filters and changed batteries out to ensure that the system continued to run effectively and efficiently. In summary, as a homeowner, I’ve learned that you get what your pay for. The cheapest vendor may actually be the worst. Bay Crawlspace and Foundation Repair is the company I would highly recommend for crawl space encapsulation. Their team of professionals is very knowledgeable and focused on delivering exceptional customer service.

Bay crawlspace and foundation were professional and friendly in every phase of our crawlspace repair. I initially called Bay for a quote about the condition of humidity in our crawlspace. They sent out Beau who was great to work with as he walked us through his process. What I especially liked about Beau was that he was open and honest about what could be fixed and what didn't need to be fixed. Beau went into the crawlspace, measured our foundation, and took ample pictures in order to accurately describe the condition We had an initial quote from a competing company come out that quoted us an insane amount without going under the house, doing any measuring or even opening the crawlspace door. Beau outlined his process of potential repairs with a reasonable price through various options that fit our needs. Beau was also patient with us throughout all of our questions. We decided to go with Bay and do not regret it. The office immediately called us and scheduled the first day for repairs. We were scheduled only a short time after our quote and I appreciated the transparency about their availability even during this terrible pandemic. The crew arrived early the morning of our schedule day and discussed with us everything that we agreed on. The crew was incredibly hard working, efficient, and professional. James and D.L. didn't stop until the job was complete and kept me informed about adjustments and how the progress was going. After the work was finished my wife and I checked out the crawlspace and it is flawless. We had problems with sitting water not flowing to the sump pump and now we have no sitting water and the humidity in the crawl space is low. Overall we are very happy with the work and would recommend Bay Crawlspace.

I wanted to take a moment and thank all of the Bay Crawlspace staff for a phenomenal job done under my house to include a French drain and a vapor barrier. From the initial assessment I was well informed and updated regularly about what all would be done and the time frame in which it would be completed. I must say that I am impressed with the four gentlemen that came out today; Marcus, Austin, Troy, and Shannon were on time, professional, very knowledgeable and extremely helpful! While completing my project they found that I had a broken sewage pipe, they took pictures and notified me immediately. They were able to send me the pics through email which allowed me to send to my plumber. I was able to have the problem corrected all in the same day. I appreciate all their hard work and taking the time to make sure the job was done correctly! Thank you for a job well done!

Bay did a great job with communication and timeliness. The team that came to perform the work were professional, kind, considerate and caring. Stefan was the foreman. He had two other guys with him, Adian (I probably spelled his name wrong, I apologize) and Floyd. Stefan kept us informed, was attentive to any concerns, was always on time, and if any concerns arose that he could not immediately address he would contact the office so that we had accurate answers. They cleaned up behind themselves to include sweeping out the crawlspace after completing the job. This company did not try to sell us anything that was not needed and worked with us to ensure the job was done to our satisfaction. We would definitely use this company again should any further foundation issues occur.
